Dolce

There is a category of fragrances that I simply call "a perfume." They're made for people who don't have a particular taste or interest in fragrance, they just want a perfume. Ideally, it comes from a recognizable luxury brand and costs a bit more than something from the drugstore. That's Dolce. It's alright, but I'm not wowed. I'd like to try an older bottle for comparison, because my impression is that the current version might have been diluted, which is something I've noticed with a few other Dolce&Gabbana fragrances. It could just as easily be a nice soap, a shampoo, or an air freshener, and I'd think, "Yes, it smells nice in here." But does it take me on an unforgettable olfactory journey? Not even close. To me, it's like with Dior J'adore - a staple of a basic lady who has a little bit of money.

This triggers a slight headache unfortunately for me. The middle notes smell papery and woodsy, bit too simple for me to like.

I had smelled this perfume a few years ago and liked it very much. I didn't have the chance to smell it again during those few years. Then, when I saw it on sale, I couldn't resist buying it, but I guess my taste in fragrances has changed in the meantime. I somehow didn't like the perfume I bought. It smelled very sharp and a bit bitter on my skin. As the notes opened up, the bitterness faded, but it felt quite far from the flower garden I remembered from a few years ago. I gifted it to my mother and realized it smelled much better on her. Perhaps if my grandmother were still alive, it would have suited her better. It feels like a mature scent to me. It is a clean scent, but it is not for me.

I’ve had this perfume for the longest time, since 2016 when I fell in love with it. Repurchased it in 2022 and didn’t reach for it that often anymore. Maybe the formula is different.. It smells nice in the beginning, projects just a tad bit and dies off very quickly. On my skin it turns powdery after 3-4 hours. Safe for spring and summer heat - if you don’t like it, don’t worry, it won’t last very long on your skin either way.

pretty, dewy floral, but very generic. horrible sillage, at least for me. kind of a nothing burger. easy to reach for, easy to wear, but does about as much as a strongly scented deoderant would.

This is a super easy reach fragrance for spring and summer. I agree that it not revolutionary and entirely different from other scents on the market. That doesn’t stop me from finding it incredibly pretty! This is that workhorse fragrance that you can grab on days you can’t decide on your fragrance or in a hurry. You will always smell clean, pretty and inoffensive. It’s bright and airy and carefree. And this bottle!!! One of the prettiest bottles out there. It’s so classically feminine and would look beautiful on any fragrance tray. I would love to eventually acquire the entire line just to have a little garden blooming on my fragrance shelves. It doesn’t have a huge sillage, but I think it may bloom well in hotter weather! You really can’t go wrong with this one. If you like florals, it’s blind buy safe!

I got a sample of this. It wasn't awful but wasn't anything fantastic either. Just kind of smelled like walking through the fragrance section at Macy's after someone sprayed a bunch of testers.

First impressions (Roomates bottle): My previous roommate let me try this perfume in her collecgtion. Did fragrantica delete my review??? no matter. anyways, it was okay but this perfume wasn't wowing me.

Category: Musky (clean), floral Notes: Sprays on super fresh and bright with soapy neroli, slightly aquatic water lotus, a fresh-out-the-shower clean musk, and a bright non-descript citrus, even though the last note isn't listed in the pyramid. Perhaps the citral touch comes from the papaya flower? With time, the Narcissus emerges more and more, adding a bit of that typically heady white floral feel, without ever making the composition feel overwhelming or “too much”. Vibe: Dewdrop. Lotus flower. Lily pads. Moner paintings. Crystal chandeliers. Diamond jewelry. Sillage: 4/10. Intimate, but not quite a skin scent. This might project better if you overspray, but with a single spritz to the wrist, it's very intimate. Longevity: 4/10. Moderate longevity, I’d say, anywhere between 4-7 hours. Perfectly acceptable for the price point. Wear: Definitely a daytime fragrance. For me personally, this is a strictly spring or summer scent, but I can recognize that it does work all year round if you're the kind to always want that fresh and bright feel and don't really adjust the vibe of your fragrance according to season. Incredibly feminine and best suited for a younger wearer in my opinion, although it wouldn't raise eyebrows if worn by people outside of my idea of the perfect age range. I’d put the ideal age range between early 20s and early 30s. Overall rating: 7/10. I am inclined to agree with the other reviewers likening this to Giorgio Armani's Aqua di Gioia, as Dolce is definitely in the same family of scents. Fresh, musky, and floral with a slightly aquatic touch. Perfect for everyday use as a daytime office fragrance or just for when you want that clean, fresh-out-the-shower feeling. The composition is simple and, frankly, quite generic, but it is nevertheless a winning concept. A definite crowd pleaser, safe blind buy, and easy to wear. With this said, there isn't much to add. Nothing special, but a well-made staple. Who would wear it?: Stella in Winx.

This is a good stable. Super floral without being offensive. Nothing wrong with it and honestly, sometimes it's nice that scents doesn't get to complicated.

one of my favorite clean florals. great for spring and summer but i'll wear it year round i love it so much. bummed that i'm seeing it less and less in the stores.

Aqua di gioia sister it's simple, not remarkable just smells nice

I got this as a travel-sized perfume rollerball. On my skin it is a very sweet smelling, somewhat generic aquatic white floral scent. Pretty but forgettable.

For me the best way to describe this perfume is memories in a liquid form, reminds me of my teens and it’s just so nostalgic i love it so much

This is a lovely fresh green floral. in the beginning it has a bright fresh crispness and a can smell a hint of citrus which is lovely with the florals. After a short while the musk and cashmere come through giving the scent a depth that makes it feel lux and expensive. This is an easy inoffensively everyday scent that can be worn anywhere anytime. Unfortunately though, it has poor performance. It's a skin scent straight away, no projection or sillage and after about 3 hours I can hardly smell it on my skin at all. its too expensive for me to be reapplying 2 to 3 times in the day. Unfortunate as I really do enjoy this scent.

This is for the original formula, which I had when it first launched: This is such an easy to love perfume! Girly, fresh, clean, feminine, just beautiful. I fell in love at first sniff when it first came out. I haven't worn it in a few years, because it's a bit too simple for me these days, but I would love to have an original formula bottle for nostalgia's sake. It's definitely a no-brainer for any situation - date, office, running errands, whatever. I smelled it on someone else once during cold weather, and it seemed to be extra beautiful in the chilly crispness. But sadly, I recently smelled this at Ulta and it is dramatically different. I've learned my lesson - buy back ups when you fall in love with a perfume, because they will inevitably be reformulated.

This perfume was gifted to me for my 18th birthday, 6 years ago. It was, and still is, a gorgeous floral scent, one of the prettiest and cleanest out there in my opinion. The bottle is stunning, and the softness of the fragrances makes it safe for blind buying and blind gifting (especially for floral scents lovers). However, its delicateness and freshness also make it a scent that lasts a couple hours max, and a skin scent at best: do not expect to leave a trail or to fill a room with this one, but expect someone hugging you to get a whiff of it. Not even maceration made it stronger. A very feminine scent, it's perfect as an office fragrance or as a teenager's first "serious" perfume (if said teenager isn't into gourmand scents like the rest of her peers, that is).

I love you once, I love you again, 10 years of loving you. I had my first bottle in 2015, I remember watched an ads of this fragrance and felt compelled. I tested it once in the store and saving up for another year just to buy a fragrance. I was 21 then, day dreaming a fragrance could fulfill my fantasy. 10 years later, I am still that girl looking for fantasy I just bought second bottle today, about an hours ago. Hello! Anyone know why the notes here are completely different than those listed on the D&G website as follows: TOP The fragrance opens with an explosion of Italian bergamot, Petit Grain mandarin and orange. HEART At the heart of Dolce&Gabbana Dolce Eau de Parfum, the fruity top notes are counterbalanced by jasmine, Indian Sambac, magnolia and orange blossom. BASE In the base of this perfume emerges Indian mimosa, which goes beautifully with amyris and intense cedarwood.

My mom has this perfume, she's an exclusively floral fresh girlie. Smells very generic and sharp, but there is a noticeably green drydown.

i have this perfume, and i find it quite nice. it's a well-rounded green and fresh floral scent that's not too overwhelming. it doesn't really last very long, which is quite unfortunate, but it does makes me feel soft, and i would recommend it to anyone because of how safe and crowd-pleasing this fragrance is.

Smells delectable lovely floral gentle fragrance. I’ve had my bottle sitting in my perfume closet waiting to be used. Glad I have it smells very feminine and alluring.

This was the perfume I got for my 18th birthday, I think, and then wore it for about half of college. I don't recall it too strongly but I remember being it light, not overly old woman floral, and perfect for those ages. I also loved having a cute little bottle to display on my shelves. This probably started my love for scents with musk in it - I don't like things that smell super clean, I want mystery and depth.

This was the second addition to my fragrance collection. It was 2021, I walked into Ulta with nothing in mind but set on buying a new perfume. I am very much a sucker for aesthetics, so I was drawn to the beautiful bottle. This is a cloudy, rainy spring day at a floral garden in a bottle. Without knowing anything about notes at the time, I loved the muskiness and since have been a fan of most things musky. Still love it mostly for spring!

Pretty and sweet. With my skin chemistry, the papaya flower pulls through mostly. Making it smell like the candy Sweet Tart. Its an okay scent to layer but definitely not strong enough to last on its on, especially for the D&G price point.

Generic white flowers and musks by on a fresher and greener side of the spectrum with some sweeter undertones. I mostly feel lily-of-the-valley here. Not offensive, but pretty boring.

When I 1st saw the same dolce I thought it'd smell like candy. But in Italian "dolce" literally translates to sweet, not candy. And this smells sweet like flowers rather than candy, as the bottle suggests. Now the whole candy shaped Allegra line by bvlgari is the opposite...lol

Mildly sweet with the smell like the taste of beginning to yellow, but still very light whitish green papaya fruit

Anyone else get fabric softener from this?? Which is why I love it 😮💨
