The One for Men

I really love The One EDT. It smells great, even a bit addictive. Masculine, sweet and a little bit fresh at the same time. But not candy sweet. Also, for me longetivity does not seem to be bad. Its quite good, just got my 100ml bottle yesterday. Projection is ok too.

This is in my to 5 scents. The grapefruit and amber notes are what stand out the most to my nose. This is the amber fragrance that I think of and compare all other amber dominated fragrances to. The downsides are its price and projection. It only projects for about an hour but it lasts extremely long (15+ hours) as a skin scent for me. It also layers really well with other fragrances like Riiffs Momento and French Avenues Spectre Ghost.

It is the definitive fragrance. I have leisurely compared it with its EDP counterpart on skin. I can confidently say that The One EDT is the superior composition, in the sense that it behaves like a symphony rather than a collection of individual instruments whose notes are easily identified. What is truly fascinating is that, for the longest time, I believed the EDP was the better fragrance. I now understand that this is simply not the case. The scent is beautiful, charming, intoxicating, and irresistibly attractive. Women become captivated by its trail, and when it is paired with the right outfit, tailored trousers, loafers, a fine watch, and a turtleneck sweater, you have everything you need to win hearts. Naturally, it excels during autumn and winter. Then again, if you live in regions beyond the Tropic of Cancer or the Tropic of Capricorn, it can easily be worn all year round. Once again, the definitive fragrance.

Not too strong, slightly sweet. The bergamot-and-basil open includes what I would characterize as Designer Aromachemicals For Men, but that's okay. Most of the listed notes are present for me. I don't know if it's The One (certainly not for me) but it would be fine on/for most guys and some people of other genders.

It's a nice sweet subtle spicy scent. The coriander and cardamon give it this great smoothness. Good fall/winter date night scent.

Amber, ginger, and tobacco, but a little sweeter than expected. More fall/winter, but also summer evenings. One big downside is it doesn't seem to last very long.

After running out of Versace Pour Homme I wanted something a little less light, and this ticks the boxes for me. Beautifully sophisticated, slightly fermented natural candied orange notes. I had a dupe of this first which was pretty good, but the real deal is noticeably more natural and layered.

Beautiful. Fleeting. Unforgettable. They should make this cheaper so we can at least overspray to compensate for the piss poor performance.

Abysmal performance

Sweet, fresh amber with a woody undertone, faint tobacco/earthy base. Definitely signature scent worthy. I have both the EDT and EDP, both are really good. I just prefer the light freshness of the EDT. I do have to over spray this one to ensure it lasts all day, although the skin scent dry down is also very enjoyable. Can't go wrong with this one.

If this fragrance had better projection and longevity it would be the best male fragrance ever made imo. Sweet, yet clean and masculine! I find myself buying it again and again, but now I always take a small decant with me, because after 3h it's almost all gone, so you have to resray it. Other than that, I just love its DNA!

I'm not crazy about this by itself. It smells watery, and I don't mean in an aquatic scent note kind of a way, I mean like it seems to have been thinned with distilled water or something. It just has a watery-thin quality to it, like when you drink a cola poured over a whole glass of ice only after all the ice has melted. And warm cola - that's a major reference point to how this smells, by itself. It's a good layering fragrance, if you want to add amber to something else or if you want to add something else to this to flesh it out.

Got this from a discounter and my box says Basil, Lavender and Sandalwood. And it smells like Basil Lavender and Sandalwood. There is some coriander in there at the top but very mild. Some orange blossom in the middle as well. Very smooth sandalwood on dry down. I get whiffs of the lavender occasionally through the day. The top basil is soothing for summer and the sandalwood is good for cool nights making this an all season fragrance. I am confused at all the other reviews and notes here. I can't smell any of the other notes mentioned here. This is a 2026 purchase. So anyone else reading this please throw some light on why the notes here and on the packaging are different.

Beautiful scent - sprayed on card and almost gone within 2 hours. Zero projection.

To have such poor performance yet be so highly rated speaks volumes about this scent. Definitely get the edp, though (2015-2025); same scent better performance

this was the first fragrance i ever got for myself when i was still a teenager. this is my nose’s reference point for amber. that should tell you the overall profile for this one.

Absolutely sexy smelling fragrance hindered by garbage performance.

Extremely poor performance, just get the EDP. No idea why this even exists, the EDP already does all this does and performs bad, this take it and makes it even worse.

This is a fantastic fragrance that slipped out of my rotation. Recently just smelled it again and my god I forgot how good it is. It’s just very seductive and sexy. It shares a similar feeling that I get from YSL La Nuit De Homme. It’s just the perfect date night smell. The unfortunate part is it fades relatively quickly so you might be susceptible to over spraying on this one. Amazing scent profile. Would be an all time great if it had longevity.

A fragrance you can forget you wore just half an hour after applying

Beautiful, smells like sex. The amber kinda smells like plastic, but doesnt take much away. Still amazingly sweet and sexy, wear this on date night or when you want pussy. Keep a traveler or roller on you, longevity quite frankly sucks. Great blind buy!

The scent itself is nice, not too pungent but very masculine, a bit too much for my taste. I don't really get any of the fresh/sweet notes, very heavy amber and tobacco with a slight citrus twinge. Very light projection completely gone within a couple of hours, feels like I need to douse myself just to get some performance out of it.

Beautiful scent...sadly castrated into only lasting 3-5 hours, if you're lucky.

This has been my "signature scent" for over a decade...might be closer to two. My other is Givenchy Blue Label which obviously hits the other lane that this generally doesn't fill during times of day, year, and situations. I have always loved the cocoa/chocolatey, bourbon vanilla, tobacco smell and the EDT is the perfect blend of that. Though I am aware they seemed to have reformulated it at some point after my current two bottles. I usually stay stocked up on this but had a long time of not needing to be out and about (lockdown included). So I had one open bottle and one unopened bottle in the stash. Both seem to not have as much of an issue with lasting long like others describe, just the projection thing is a factor so this is one I do spray more than my regular 2-3 times when I want to be "noticed". I took one to the Caribbean and wore it at night and was VERY successful at getting attention from women. They're much more "familiar" there and are not afraid to be close to you. Even got some questions from guys asking what I was wearing so they could look for it. Amazing as I was competing well with the Sauvage wearers in their era with something over 20 years old. I would say don't underestimate this in the warmer weather, just pick the right time to wear it and you'll stand apart appropriately. I've even built around this scent profile over the years. I use vanilla scented shea butter as a base (I do generally have to get it made custom these days though cause often there's too many other scents mixed in). Also I use Axe "Dark Temptation" scent body wash and also deodorant (spray mostly but sometimes the underarm instead in high heat) as I think it pairs with this EXTREMELY well. It DRASTICALLY improves the sillage (imo) and projection as they blend. Just don't over do the Axe spray if you already used the body wash. I grew up in the UK for a while as a kid so unlike others that were born and stayed in the US their whole lives, I'm VERY aware of how Axe (known previously as Lynx) is actually surprisingly effective as a weapon against the opposite sex. You just need to know what smell suits your body chemistry and also the right amount to use each time. If you like the EDT (and if it still smells chocolatey/bourbon vanilla/tobacco to you), try at least the Axe Dark Temptation body wash before using this and see if I'm lying.

Very masculine scent, I mainly get amber with like a shower gel scent mixed in. This only really last 4-5 hours for me and it doesn't really project at all. If this fragrance actually projected it would be one of the best masculine woody scents on the market even years later but no one will smell this masterpiece unless oversprayed. Overall 7.5/10

Fascinating scent, one of the older fragrances that makes you realize how many newer fragrances are just copying what was already there. I love the shower gel kind of vibe, still ambery and spicy but very refreshing. Very sadly this died on the back of my hand after like, five minutes. Many people complain about longevity and sillage with The One, which is unfortunate for me because all colognes have poor projection and longevity on me and I quite like this fragrance. Perhaps I should try the parfum...

An excellent scent. Exemplifies the idea of a fresh spicy and can be worn in a variety of weather. Primary draw back is the performance is weak and fades to a skin scent quickly. Ideal for a quick trip or an environment where you don't want to be too loud.
