I really like it, smells like vanilla pudding and cinnamon rolls fresh from the oven ,but it reminds me of Sol the Janeiro 🤔 I don't know why

Анонім★★★★★

A like that would be a love if this was cheap enough for me to re-apply liberally throughout the day. Sadly it ain’t cheap and the performance is abysmal.

Really glad to have a 5mL decant so I can get plenty of tests but I’ve fallen in love with my first impression. I definitely haven’t smelled anything like this, I’m not even sure how to describe it. It’s comforting but not in the way I typically associate with gourmands. It is lovely, uplifting, quiet but confidently beautiful. I am pleasantly surprised with the longevity I got, could still smell it after 8 hours. Just read the below review and I agree completely.

This is somewhat original. Hence, why people keep comparing it to random things rather than to other actual perfumes. That combination of ambery berry, caramelized green, smooth rose, nuttiness, cacao really hasn't been done. No, it’s not the type of expensive fragrance that people argue about how “challenging” it is. It is relatively easy to wear for experimental fragrance enthusiasts. It’s rich, comforting and luxurious. That's all, and that's okay. The blend and the journey it takes the wearer on is what makes this special. Do I think the price is a bit absurd (especially since while it last a solid time the projection is meh)? Yes. But that’s a different discussion.

Hair conditioner or even better, hair mask, super silky, slippery and creamy. Pretty strong for the profile

Update: So I’ve worn it the last few days and I do agree with the comment below that this has a shampoo smell. It does, to be honest… but hear me out. The only other scent I have that smells like shampoo (or at least people associate it with one) is Fleur Narcotique. Let me tell you - they are not the same shampoo. 😂 Whilst Fleur Narcotique, to me, smells like the air in the bathroom after you’ve showered with a nice floral shampoo (airy, floral, clean, gentle), this one is different. This one is more like you’ve used a shower gel that has a shampoo smell - fruity, floral, and clean (to a certain degree) - but you’ve also used one of those rich, cocoa, nutty luxurious hair masks. Then you step out of the shower, still wet, and both scents dance beautifully, radiating from your body. It’s not your basic shampoo smell (at least not to my nose). There’s a certain contrast between the clean, fruity-floral shampoo smell and the warmer, nutty, cocoa, woody smell. They never mix perfectly together, and that’s exactly what makes it so interesting. (There’s something very Quentin Bisch about it and the way he likes to use contrast.) It’s not your typical clean, white musk, floral shampoo type of scent. It’s more sensual in a way… if a shampoo can even be sensual. As a man, I absolutely love wearing it. It makes me feel clean but sexy at the same time, which is a surprisingly addictive combination. It’s not musky clean or laundry clean. It’s rich shampoo clean… and yes, I know that sounds ridiculous until you smell it. 😂

Shampoo-like perfume. So expensive for a designer perfume. Dunno why it is being held to a higher standard than a ysl perfume in your usual sephora. Let's just bring this down to what it is. Dries van noten is a designer perfume. No more. No less. Shouldn't cost more than £100. Pretty bottles, yes.

Анонім★★★★★

Got a sample of this and I get the hype. I need this in my collection! On my skin there’s something woody underneath too.. such a pretty scent! Edit: pulled the trigger on that full bottle :))

Анонім★★★★★

nothing makes me feel more put together than this. let’s hope one day i’ll be put together enough to splurge 300+ eur on this gorgeous bottle lol

Анонім★★★★★

Choking and overrated.

Анонім★★★★★

Soft pastel femme fatale; sweet, and wearable to many occasions. This scent is cozy and cool at the same time, this is what they mean by luxury whispers. I don’t have anything else to compare to and it's not the most unique fragrance ever, but it is the best blend. Very beautiful perfume.

Анонім★★★★★

I am a self proclaimed gourmand hater but this shattered me. Absolutely intoxicated with this beautiful, elegant and ethereal scent. I dont know how they blended blackcurrant, citrus, rose, cacao and chestnut smoothly but they did. I'm screwed.

Анонім★★★★★

It smells like Moroccan oil shampoo and conditioner, but in the best way! I actually love this! Im not sure its worth the price tag, but its honestly nothing like any other PERFUME I've smelt, so I may have to splurge a little on a full size bottle 😅

Анонім★★★★★

This perfume is soooo beautiful. It really does smell like silk and chestnuts—soft, smooth, and incredibly sophisticated. I can definitely smell the blackcurrant coming through too, which adds such a beautiful touch. It does sit quite close to the skin, but honestly, that almost adds to its soft, intimate, luxurious feel. 🤎✨

Анонім★★★★★

It smells like the most basic hand cream your mom grabbed in a hurry at the nearest supermarket about 20 years ago. I honestly don’t understand why anyone would pay 330 € to smell like this, but at least it’s inoffensive.

Анонім★★★★★

Amazing scent. Cozy and lovely. So nice on a man.

Анонім★★★★★

I love this perfume so much- it's simly pretty, feminine, uplifting. It's really not complex, just good. Fells fruity, a bit warm note, a bit sweet, juicy. Love, love, love

Анонім★★★★★

At one point, this perfume suddenly gave me an air freshener vibe, and from then on I just couldn't wear it anymore. I ended up parting with my bottle. Definitely not a safe blind buy.

Анонім★★★★★

I very much enjoy the soft nutty fruity top notes, though not mindblowing. Resembles This is love! by Z&V. What stands out most in Soie Malaquais is how edible it smells. Like chestnut cream candy AND it manages to smell edible in a grown-up way, which is quite a feat if you ask me.

Omg this is the emperors new clothes. How are so many people hyping this up at this price point. I’m not adverse to buying unnecessarily expensive fragrances lol. But this is nowhere near unique or worth the price tag. Top: Agree with the comments associating this with shampoo and hair care products. The non-descript red fruityness at the top with the heart certainly blend together to that of hair care scents. Not even that exclusive hair care at that. Doesn’t smell grown, very girly. And I can appreciate young scents! But knowing how this is described I expected something way more sensual and full bodied. Heart: the first thing that jumps to mind is Trés Chere by Mizensir (this DNA stays for the entirety of the fragrance’s lifespan). TC itself is very similar to generic designer options, but better blended and more elegant. SM smells of TC and the remnants of the fruity top that makes it more abrasive/edgy/tart than Trés Chere which is smoother. I guess the component in SM that would be vanilla in TC is chestnut in this one. But I don’t identify anything nutty in this even when looking for it, knowing that it’s a note. It could’ve just as well been an Olympea-esque vanilla in the pyramid. Drydown: As SM dries down it doesn’t perform too well anymore and I don’t get any cacao. The heart just softens and the acidic fruits finally dissipate. Was really looking forward to cacao in this as I love it as a note, it can be so sensually applied in a fragrance. I have to put my nose up against my wrist to sense the fragrance atp. People say that it’s easier to describe the scent by its texture rather than the notes themselves, as the notes are too seamlessly blended to be described accurately. Uhh sure, notes fade into one another! But I don’t get any extraordinary silkiness brought on by the silk note (which I don’t perceive) or luxurious feel by the way it’s blended. No particular texture, really. I would’ve loved that. But I think that a big part of that perception is brought on by the marketing and naming of it. Nah man. Love the bottle as much as everyone else, but save your money people.

I really tried to like this fragrance, but it’s not for me! It seems somehow cloying! Hard to explain, but it’s just a no!

Анонім★★★★★

At first, when I sampled it, I liked it : Silky chestnuty scent. Very soft, lady like so I get the hype. The blackcurrant is very soft and that silk is prominent and gorgeous ! Few months later: I got it and I'm not so sure. deffo not for summer for me; letting it sit.

Анонім★★★★★

I'll start off by saying I like this scent. And yes, the bottle is nice. To me, this is a no perfume perfume. It just smells like someone who is clean, showered and put together. Like maybe they just shampooed their hair, out on lotion and steamed their freshly clean clothes. Not that it literally smells like shampoo, lotion or laundry, but you get the idea. If I smelled this on someone I would never think it was a perfume. It's very minimalist. I get the chestnut and silk notes for sure, but not much of anything else. Certainly no blackcurrant, which I would notice because I typically can't stand blackcurrant notes. The chestnut actually registers more as hazelnut to me, but maybe that's the combination of the chestnut and cacao notes. Hazelnut is a scent I enjoy a lot. In fact this scent reminds me of those little hazelnut-scented conditioners L'Oreal used to include with their demi-permanent hair dyes. I've always wanted a scent to replicate that because it's absolute heaven to me. This perfume is not a dupe for that, but it certainly is reminiscent. Now the elephant in the room is the price. The bottle is beautiful, for sure, but $520AUD for this is just not worth it. Especially when to me, this is such a simple and minimalist scent, and a very soft one at that, which doesn't last long at all. The scent itself is an all-occasions mass-appealing easy reach, and for that reason, it doesn't make sense to spend over $500 for this. It's nice, but it's not some otherworldly type of scent that's going to make you smell unique. I think you're mostly paying for the brand and the bottle. If you can afford that and it's worth it to you, then go for it. To the comment below about this not having a soul, I agree that it's extremely simplistic, but I do get a certain persona from it. It brings to mind someone who appreciates art and fashion, and probably studied one of those at university before going on to work in the fashion industry. Someone who is chic and expensive, and who would spend $200 on a plain black top just because they appreciate the quality, craftsmanship and brand heritage. They don't care that no one else knows, because they can feel the difference. It's a very textural scent, and while some may find it overly simple, I wouldn't say it lacks soul, it's just not complex enough for the price.

A lovely, bright and fresh opening that gradually settles into a gentle spicy warmth with a silky, almost polished finish. The composition feels very refined, smooth, cohesive, and without any rough edges. The cocoa note sits quietly in the base, adding a soft, comforting depth that feels more like a gentle hug. It’s elegant and balanced. That said, while I can appreciate the elegance and polish, I personally tend to prefer fragrances that offer a bit more tension or intrigue, something that keeps you thinking as it evolves. This one leans more toward effortless beauty than complexity. Performance is unfortunately where it falls short for me. On my skin, it fades relatively quickly and becomes a skin scent sooner than expected, especially at this price point. Still, a very graceful and well-executed composition.

Анонім★★★★★

Really love this perfume! Has quickly become a staple, love to wear in autumn and spring. Very elegant. Though for the price point it really doesn’t last very long, which is a shame.

Анонім★★★★★

Disappointed. I smelled peace & love I thought it would be smoother since its a dupe but its the same. Save your self the money and just buy peace &love.

Анонім★★★★★

Opening: air freshener, mid: scented laundry detergent, drydown: by the fireplace :P

Анонім★★★★★

This smells like an air freshener in a public bathroom. I thought it might be okay, but the public bathroom smell gets stronger at the citrus fades.

Анонім★★★★★

Aw I don't really like this. Very sweet, smooth and fruity. The chestnut stands out, and I also get a lot of blackcurrant. Somehow though, it all just reminds me of shampoo!

for me its too sweet and heavy, must ry befor buy
