Finely done femininity. Slightly sharp opening of yellow and white florals that dance and swirl in the air on a warm, sunny Spring day. Linear, true yellow fresh florals. Bloomed beautifully in late Summer too, mellowing out. This is versatile and feminine. A crisp, white shirt and bright red lipstick scent on a warm day. Living in a loft in New York, just beginning your career in the 90s. Office safe, casual yet refined and yes great for interviews. I read somewhere the bottle is representative of a New York skyscraper. The liquid is this scent. 💛🤍🌼✨☀️🗽🌆💄💋

This is magic to me. You expect something ordinary and generic. It’s lovely from the beginning, it shapeshifts back and forth and that drydown is divine. I am not a flower person , my love for this is such a curious mystery to me.

Анонім★★★★★

It’s a classic. I absolutely love it.

I mostly like this, although there's a soapy quality underneath (something in the core DNA that carries through to the flankers) that I don't care for. But overall it's a nice, soft, feminine scent with plenty of interesting complexity, feels very clean, and for the price, with fair longevity on me (~6 hours) and moderate projection through most of that, it's a nice addition to the rotation.

Such a pretty fragrance, and a surprising find for me. Or perhaps not really a find, since I had known about its existence for years, I just never considered it important enough to try. Big mistake. This belongs firmly to the second half of the 90s. I spent an entire evening trying to figure out the formula. It reminds me so much of Noa by Cacharel, but blended with something else. I still haven't identified the second half of the equation. It's a creamy floral with a strong presence, but not overwhelming. It's also quite complex. I thought it was going to smell like "perfume" - an undefined blob of everything together, but it doesn't. It's elegant and chic. Very much 90s supermodel energy (on a budget). I'd say it's better suited to the transitional seasons than to the height of summer. I'll definitely spend more time sampling to see how it develops and whether it could become a regular companion. Probably not just yet, especially since it doesn't come in a smaller bottle, but perhaps at some point. A very lovely surprise.

It's wonderful, I love it. The first thing I notice is an explosion of ultra-feminine floral fragrance, and then I feel it soften on my skin without losing its freshness. The effect it has in warm weather is like walking through a field of flowers.

I really wanted to like this, but I just... don't. I don't know what it is, but after an hour I've had enough and have to wash it off. It smells too synthetic on me, too overwhelming. I do like other Arden scents (e.g. Splendor), but this one isn't for me. Shame, as I love the scent of linden blossom!

finally then, this perfume arrived. I have always known it, yet never smelled it otherwise than on a scented strip in Vogue US. it has resemblances to her 1980s Sisters, as well as her sisters from the 1990s. she is perfect yet I am used to much more Sillage and Presence from these 'Flowerbombs'. this is a highly polished Lady, well mannered and nowhere over the top. if such ostentatious perfumes have my preference, then yet, after 50 years of collecting only the most vile and annexationist Flower perfumes (Giorgio, Giorgio Red, Knowing, Obsession, Eternity, White Linen, Poison, Fred Hayman 273, Bijan Beverly Hills, Gale Hayman Beverly Hills, Donna Karan Donna Karan, Paris, Opium, Y, Ivoire, No19, No5, Chanel Coco, Allures both, Coco Mademoiselle Edt Edp Essence EPrivé, Creed's Fleur de Bulgarie, Irisia, Royal Delight, Vanisia, Tubereuse Indiana, Jasmal, Jasmine Impératrice Eugénie, Gem, First, Nahéma, Knowing, EauduSoir etc., etc.) this then surely belongs to them but her shyness amazed yet mesmerized me. she has some resemblance with Eternity, No5, White Linen, Ysatis, First, OscardelaRenta, Must II de Cartier (all their Classique-ness) but these 'gals' are much more assertive. 5th Ave has her place in the Panthéon. and now in my house. she is just that shy, chic, demure lady with impeccable Deux Pièces de Chanel. she has the luxe heels from Manolo Blahnik and Chanel but nothing fancy or experimental. the perfume is to die for. the polish is breathtaking.

I really love Elizabeth Arden 5th Avenue! This one surprised me. I just recently blind-bought a bottle and was pleasantly surprised. It's a beautiful, classic aldehydic floral with a powdery, slightly woody-musky base. I think it really does capture the feeling of what flowers on 5th Avenue in the spring would smell like after a gentle rain—that is the vibe it gives off. It smells more expensive than it is. I think it's an elegant, timeless classic fragrance that is suitable for both daytime and nighttime wear. I cannot imagine anyone not liking this—maybe someone with no taste. It is so much better than the current trendy fragrances that are so popular today, the ones that smell so cheap and synthetic and all have that same underlying “fuzzy” note that lingers.

Was a bit nervous to see how it would turn out on me because reviews said it's mature, but was surprised to find out that I love it! Very similar to Jessica McClintock number 3. I can't tell if its supposed to smell a little bit sour or if that's just my nose reacting to the lilac, but it is ageless and elegant.

I can see me wearing this parfum any time, any occasion. Good for business or restaurant, or any occasion where you want to be not loud, but to wear something at the same time. Surprisingly, not the favourite for me from this line. Someone have written earlier that it reminded them about lilac or jasmine soap. Now, cannot get it out of my head. Nice smell though. Absolutely love the dry down . I will try to mix few sprays of it with small amounts of body lotion: this should be great. Longevity in me 3 hours, intimate projection. Huge bottle, small price. Overall, recommend Edit: in hot days very lovely too, as the smell of magnolia is very appropriate and feels very strongly. Great purchase.

Elizabeth Arden’s 5th Avenue unfolds as a quintessential spring floral—radiant, composed, and unmistakably feminine, yet never excessive. The opening is immediately luminous: a delicate interplay of lily of the valley and magnolia forms a refined white floral accord, gently edged with raspy lilac and softened by a wash of golden citrus. Linden blossom introduces a powdery sweetness that feels almost weightless, dissolving into a fine, sparkling mist that sits close to the skin. The heart reveals a beautifully structured floral architecture. Bulgarian rose emerges with quiet confidence, supported by a creamy yet controlled tuberose. The jasmine is distinctly reminiscent of 1990s perfumery—polished, bright, and luxurious without tipping into indolic richness or exaggerated opulence. Carnation seamlessly takes over from the citrus facets, its softly spiced profile maintaining the fragrance’s uplifting clarity while anchoring the more opulent florals. Subtle touches of peach lend a gentle juiciness, carefully balanced to avoid any overripe sweetness, while nutmeg hums quietly within the carnation, enhancing its warm, slightly oriental nuance. One of the composition’s most impressive qualities is its continuity and grace through the drydown. Lily of the valley persists far longer than expected, buoyed by dewy violet petals, while the spiced carnation gradually melts into a soft veil of white musk and pale, snow-like iris. The transition is languid and seamless, never abrupt. The base is particularly noteworthy—sandalwood and amber provide a plush, softly contoured foundation that supports rather than dominates. It is structured yet airy, a rarity in contemporary perfumery where heaviness often substitutes for depth. The vanilla remains understated, almost shy, offering only a whisper of warmth and making the fragrance feel refreshingly restrained amid today’s sweeter trends. With its intimate projection and skin-close elegance, 5th Avenue reads as timeless rather than dated—a quietly luxurious composition that rewards close attention and wears with effortless sophistication. It pairs beautifully with suede-vanilla fragrances such as Guerlain’s Cuir Beluga, where its florals gain a subtle, textural warmth without losing their clarity.

To be perfectly candid, I despise how this perfume starts but enjoy the drydown. On first spray, everything in the scent seems to fight each other to be smelt leading to a guady and overblown mess that has made me put it back on the shelf multiple times until today. Thankfully, the drydown has more in common with Splendor (which I like) than Red Door (I can't stand it) where things even out and balance into a very pleasing linden blossom and lilac with a soapy muget under it. I do think I may get this one day, but I have a few scents that just work better for me for these florals without the dry down. These are Quelque Fluers for lilac and bouqet florals, and something blue by oscar de la renta and peace love and juicy couture for linden blossom. A feature basket padder.

Just got this as my summer scent, couldn't stop thinking about it after smelling it in store. Its clean, classy and inoffensive, safe blind buy. Smells like walking through a meadow in bloom, fresh out the shower wearing a white linen dress. No overpowering notes, I don't really get the woody notes on dry down, more of a light creamy vanilla. Overall a great spring or summer scent for any age.

I was gifted this for Christmas long ago. I often wear this on rainy days in late winter and early spring. It smells sweet, like early spring blossoms of daffodils and narcissus. I definitely get the lilac, just like the lilacs blooming in my front yard. It is a little cloyingly sweet. The durability is good. It dries down powdery on me, and that is fine. It comes across a little “old lady,” but an old lady who lives her best life, someone who shares her secrets for a life well lived. She may have white hair, but she also wears red, pink, and bright lipstick, and it looks great on her. She celebrates every day. She is happy, spunky, and funny. And kind. But at the same time, this perfume could be worn by her preppy, smart, beautiful granddaughter!

Spring in the bottle. Classic and very nice perfume♥️

Just got this one for Valentines Day from my mom and sister❤️ It’s truly hard to describe for me. It’s listed extremely floral and while I guess it is, I seem to get very soapy vibes also. Maybe I am mistaking a certain floral note as soapy. Perhaps the lilac or magnolia. Seems light. Feminine. Simple but not in a bad way! I can see this being used casually daily or dressed up as well. Longevity is unknown since it’s my first wear and hasn’t been 30 minutes since I even applied it. Went in moderately (for me) with 32 sprays. We shall see. So far I can definitely tell this is going to be an easy reach for me when I want to smell clean and elegant.

A complex, well-crafted composition in which numerous notes blend into a smooth whole, with no single accord dominating. The opening is enlivened by slightly tart citrus notes, the only sharp accent in the fragrance, which quickly fades to allow the floral heart to fully unfold against a more powdery backdrop. It is a classically feminine scent that stands as proof of high quality at a very reasonable price point. Longevity on fabric lasts all day as an intimate fragrance, with an initially moderate sillage. These perfumes deliberately avoid ostentation; they are meant to be perceived up close, which enhances their elegance and makes them all the more sensual.

Elizabeth Arden 5th Avenue smells like a celebration, as someone wrote in a comment here, it smells like a wedding, that's right, it smells like a white wedding in early spring in a lime tree alley. Nutmeg with linden, a great concept of elegance. And it's very powerful, very good longevity and sillage.

5th Avenue by Elizabeth Arden is a true "pillar" of 90s perfumery. If I had to describe it in one word, it would be class. It is a fragrance that does not scream to be noticed, but stands out for its measured, luminous and timeless elegance. A discreet luxury bouquet. Despite the endless list of notes, 5th Avenue is surprisingly harmonious. It is not a "heavy" perfume, but rather an airy and sophisticated floral. The Opening (The Garden in Bloom): Freshly sprayed, the Linden Blossom dominates. It is a rare and wonderful note that gives a clean, almost light honey and dewy scent. Lilac and Lily of the Valley accentuate this feeling of fresh spring in New York. The Heart: After about 20 minutes, the richest character emerges. Jasmine and Tuberose add femininity, while Peach and Violet soften the tones. The Carnation and Nutmeg give that "spicy" and dry touch that prevents the fragrance from becoming too sweet or cloying. The Bottom (The silky trail): The finish is dry, clean and reassuring. Iris gives a powdery nuance, while Sandalwood and Musk create a creamy base that lingers on the skin like a silk scarf. It's the perfect perfume for the woman who loves the "Old Money" style or the "Clean Girl" look before they even became trends on social media. It is the king of daytime perfumes, reassuring and never intrusive for those around you. Seasonality: It shines in spring and autumn, when the air is fresh and the white flowers can "breathe" without being suffocated by the scorching heat. Longevity: Moderate. Being an Elizabeth Arden classic, it lasts well (about 5-6 hours), but tends to become a "skin scent" after the first two hours. Unbeatable price: It is often found at very affordable prices despite seeming like a niche perfume. Not very "modern": If you are looking for sugary or gourmand scents (strong caramel/vanilla style), this might seem too serious for you. Versatility: It goes well with jeans and a white shirt as well as with an elegant suit. Discrete sillage: It's not a "room-filling" scent, it's very intimate. Olfactory Signature: It is an immediately recognizable and very chic classic. 5th Avenue is not a perfume for those who want to shock, but for those who want to convey confidence and sophistication. If you love the smell of freshly bloomed white flowers and the "luxury soap" feel, it's an almost safe blind buy.

At one time, it was my signature perfume, the one by which I was recognized. Now it's too intense for me. It's extremely long-lasting and strong, lingering in the room after you leave.

Beautiful beautiful beautiful smells like a wedding Gorgeous strong lime blossom and muguet I thought it was released in 2005 i was shocked when i knew that it was released in 1996 no way it doesn’t even smell like a late 90’s scent Super dewy florals If u r a heavily floral scents fan dear u need to give this gorgeous muguet scent a try its the heck cheap

An easy-wearing perfume that is light, floral and fruity. The white florals elevate the scent and give it much lift. It’s sweet like a green pear or melon and has an oceanic note that smoothes it all out so it’s not base-heavy. 5th Avenue is stylish and modern, not a hint of powder- smooth all the way. An excellent scent for a warm summer or spring day or if you enjoy soft and smooth fragrances. Because it’s light the longevity and projection are not that good.

I’m a male leaving a review for a female fragrance. It’s a nice, light, generic, fresh floral fragrance. My mother wore this, she passed away, and I have her bottle. I wear it sometimes when I’m home, and I love it. It’s really a classic example of how strong a fragrance memory can be.

This is nice, light, fresh and floral. Very work appropriate. I layered this with Elizabeth Taylor Gardenia and this combo smells like a spring bouquet. I think I found this at Burlington for around $20.00

A richly floral fragrance, with prominent notes of linden, lily of the valley, and lilac. It offers a true explosion of flowers and freshness, firmly rooted in the tradition of classic perfumes. The composition is very well balanced: the notes blend seamlessly, creating a powdery and distinctly soapy impression, with a comforting, slightly vintage character. Though it has undergone reformulations, it remains a solid creation, a classic among classics, worth owning and perfectly suited to any age, any season, and any occasion. It has a delicate charm and a discreet sillage, but the only real drawback is its rather short longevity—barely two hours—which can be frustrating. Yet for its price, it remains a pleasure to wear and highly recommendable.

It's lovely and soapy, like something you would smell from a nice middle aged lady
