Fendi Theorema

Theorema is one of the most brilliant fragrances ever made. Christine Nagel is an absolute genius. Opens up strong & regal, then immediately settles into the smoothest, richest, most transparently ethereal, complex & delicious scent on earth. Smells like delicately spiced gingerbread, creamy vanilla & bright oranges. Yet Theorema isn't a typical syrupy gourmand like the ones currently flooding the market & causing mass nausea. It's complex & grounded with guaiac wood, sandalwood & amber at the base. Never overly sweet & cloying, just heavenly. This was my signature scent for many years & works perfectly with my chemistry. I have a couple of bottles I managed to acquire after tragically losing all my originals in a disastrous move, & I savor them. It still smells exquisite on me. It is heartbreaking that this has been discontinued. It was my absolute, unequivocal favorite of all the fragrances I have ever worn. I wore it during the happiest time of my life, discovered it during a cherished holiday shopping trip with my sister at Saks, and strongly suspect that I will never find anything I love so much again, nor will there ever be another fragrance like it. I'll never forgive them for taking it off the market. I continue my search for something similar to Theorema & have yet to locate it. Meanwhile, I have counterintuitively replaced Theorema w/ Cristalle as my favorite.

I was going to blind buy a full bottle of this one based on the notes and the reviews on this site until I found a local listing that was selling 20ml worth of miniatures of Theorema for about $42. It’s alright imo. It opens with a tartness that I guess comes from the rose hip note with underlying ambery-sweet spiciness. It didn’t knock my socks off, and it’s not full bottle worthy for me. It’s not awfully unique and my guess you can find something like that still in production based on the overall profile. It’s nice. But that’s it, just nice.

Today, I received half a bottle of this magic juice. Just a week ago, I made spiced wine for the Halloween party, which we drank by the fire pit, and Theorema smells just like that evening! It’s perfect for the colder season. I don’t know how old this bottle is, but the fragrance still smells glorious. So if you are considering buying vintage Theorema, it’s worth the risk, imo.

An easy to wear, spicy, warm, orange-y (in the opening), ambery, woody fragrance. The spices are beautiful, not strong. The wood is the iso e super type. The spices make the amber airy and not stuffing (the type of ''L'Air du Desert Marocain'' amber). And that's the main impression that it leaves, an airy amber. Overall, soft, beautiful, cozy. Amber is not ''my thing'' so not a very high grade for me. 7/10

I'm crying I love this so much. I had a bottle years ago that I likely got in a makeup alley swap (it was already long-discontinued even then) but it disappeared during a move along with a shoebox full of other perfumes. Maybe I donated them but that doesn't sound like me 🤔. Anyway, now that my perfume hyperfixation is back years later, I'm remembering about my lost gems and I'm trying to replace them, which in this case is no easy feat, but I did find a mostly full bottle secondhand for a relatively reasonable price recently and it still absolutely hits. Theorema opens with a clove studded orange, then quickly begins to transform, with occasional light whiffs of nag champa incense swirling upwards. From the notes, you'd think it would be a thick syrupy spicy thing but it's not. It's light and effervescent, and the rather intimate sillage is where it shines. The ambery drydown is smooth and creamy, with the spices sanded down like a chai with lots of milk (not lactonic, though, just blurred). I don't mind at all that it wears close to the skin, and in fact I think the effect would suffer if it was a big projector, but I do wish it would last a bit longer. Oh well, I'll just spray it again!

This scent is happiness. Mysterious, magical, cozy, and dreamy. Incense and nutmeg. I wear it only from Halloween to New Year’s Eve to make it last. My all-time favorite!

Theorema's opening stage shimmers like tinsel on my skin, a restrained spicy, orange pomander adorned with cloves, balmy yet auric in nature. Nagel achieved an effect that is almost Lutens-like in approaching a spiced Eastern amber with atmosphere. The core is like fruitcake, with its currants, citron, lemon zest, and apricot—served aside a floral centerpiece by a warm hearth. Nutmeg and cinnamon is the sweetest dust, plush and woodsy, close to the skin, sort of a translucent, silken amber. There is then the suggestion of Drambuie on the skin, an apt digestif for the experience. In spite of there being little in the way of what's traditionally sultry, and the musk here is by no means animalic, Theorema still manages to feel effortlessly sexy. To nuzzle the neck of someone wearing this—I can only imagine.

For someone who really likes Opium and the original Fendi, I could not tolerate this. It was spicy in a way that made me feel sick. I know a lot of people feel that way about Opium but this scent was overpowering and made me want to heave like when I walk through the pumpkin spice scented candle aisle of a 99 cent store, or smell cheap cinnamon Christmas sprays. I really wish I had loved this but it was revolting and I had to give it away to a frenemy.

When a review begins with "Oh my God!" one can safely assume that the perfume is Heavenly or at least Divine. Indeed, Theorema is a heavenly scent. It is a warm, comforting hug from an Immortal. A ray of light on a Dark day. One can well imagine that Elysium smells like this. Such a tragedy that it was discontinued.

Theorema has a scent profile that isn't all that unique. There are numerous spiced amber scents out there. Somehow I still find this unique. It opens as a slightly sweet, spiced orange. In the opening the spices are more aromatic, as the scent develops they become warm, cozy and rich. There is a lightness to this fragrance despite it being a warm spicy amber. I never find it heavy or cloying. As the fragrance dries down the tartness from the citrus fades into the warmth of the amber and resins, making a wonderful base for the spices. Thankfully the spices never get skanky. There is a sweetness to this fragrance, but it is never over the top and is balanced well with the other accords. The woods and florals are always present, but are supporting players throughout the wear. Theorema is sensual, classy and beautiful. It's a more womanly than feminine. I picture this being the fragrance of a bold, confident woman. This is a fragrance that has aged very well. It was released 25 years ago, but doesn't smell dated. I find it more classic...one of those things that never really goes out of style. The performance has been excellent for me. The projection is light to moderate, but leaves a beautiful trail. A heavy application does increase the projection, but I find that takes away some of the beauty of this fragrance. One of the things I really love about it is how it dances around me when I am wearing it. It never feels like it is clinging to my skin. Instead it is just floating around with me all day. I only tend to wear Theorema on cooler days. The scent profile is not one I gravitate to in warmer weather. I especially like to wear it around the holidays. It's like mulling spices and oranges...a perfect accompaniment to Christmas I love the packaging. The simplicity of the design is very applealing. The shape of the bottle is interesting and unique while still being understated. I don't have many backup bottles in my collection, but Theorema warrants one if I find another reasonably priced bottle.

Another OMG! A real wrist sniffer. Beautifully blended. Wish I had bought it when it came out but am lucky to have small splash vials. To sum up my love for this one is, Man! I feel like a woman!🎵 If anyone wants to let theirs go and has taken care of this beauty please let me know. Swap shop!

Oh my god This is sublime I have the extrait which doesn't have a page on fragrantica so I will leave my review here This is a beautiful well blended scent It's warm ,cozy ,spicy ,cozy and sophisticated. It has so many notes that all shines in here in a perfect way. Oh how I love the nutmeg and cinnamon here it gives the scent this warm sweet spicy touch with amber and benzoin that enhances the warmness and sweetness balanced with woods to not lean into being gourmand and the pepper and citruses giving that bright fresh zesty kick to it and cardamum adds dryness to it with the classic Ylang ,jasmine and rose combo that's classic but gives the scent body structure with fruity nuances from rose hip and osmanthus that also gives a velvet like texture to it and with sandalwood that gives it classiness and sophistication. It's spicy Oriental in a soft mild way that blended beautifully with citruses and I smell orange in this warm spicy orange almost candied with rose and floral notes that's surrounded by this beautiful fruity nuances with ambery woody base. It's unique enveloping and sensual. The extrait acts like a second skin, it's like that's your own natural scent that's sensual and inviting.

Oh my God, I found my Holy Grail with Fendi Theorema. I don't need any other perfume anymore. I don't know what I'll do if I don't find Theorema on Ebay or Etsy anymore, but for now I'm reassured. I'm not upset that the perfume wears close to the skin and has almost no sillage. I smell it when I put it on and it brings out the best in me. And that's enough for me. That's me. And that's how I experienced what it means to find the ONE perfume.

Theorema is a cozy orange creamcicle; Osamanthus with amber/oriental nuances, more aromatic than woody or spicy. Artfully blended spices and gentle geranium provide the punch that elevates Theorema to the 'best of' category. Theorema is not a challenging amber and there is something to be said about a 'comfort-spray' in today's niche era that seems to spit out fragrances that are specifically designed to challenge the wearer, as if to prove their price tag. Although my heart belongs to Fendi's Fendi, Theorema offers a beautiful, classy, and comfortable amber experience with enough oomph to make me return for sprays over and over. It makes 'best of' lists for a reason. Somewhat disappointing silage and longevity. (Vintage eau de parfum).

It broke my heart when Fendi Theorema was discontinued. Theorema was a deliciously spicy warm fragrance. It doesn't list orange (just orange blossom) in the notes but on my skin it screamed sticky syrupy orange with lashings of cinnamon, nutmeg and cardamon. My husband loved it when I wore Theorema - so much so that he bought me a bar of the beautiful shiny gold theorema soap so that i could layer the fragrance. The packaging on Theorema was exquisite as well with the black and gold box fastened with a small wooden rod. I still have about a 1/3 of a vintage bottle which I reserve for special occasions like our anniversary.

Cardamom spice bomb! Fendi does spice notes really well, and T. shows why. It's not as "thick" or rich as original Fendi Fendi, but it's very good on its own. Trends a little masculine, def. unisex, sophisticated and stylish. Sillage is modest, lasting power is a little better. Unlike Fendi Fendi, Theorema is work safe.

I already reviewed this, but wearing this today, a few days after Christmas, and reading through reviews mentioning gingerbread and candied orange, I realized how much Theorema calls to mind Panettone, the Italian Christmas bread! Makes sense when you think of it, since Fendi is an Italian house.

Wow. Boozy and Gourmand and Sexy. Beautifully blended. A classic composition. I bought it years ago when I was younger and in Italy and it still retains its composition. Amazing.

Dabber sample vials are tricky to use at the best of times, and when too tired one might accidentally tip an entire vial onto their wrist. This was the unfortunate case with Fendi Theorema, as an entire 3ml ended up saturating my clothes and covering my entire right arm. Thank goodness the scent was bearable in large doses. Fendi Theorema is a beautifully composed spicy woods scent. Although marketed to women, this fragrance could just as easily be worn by men also. This fragrance is how I expected Guerlain's Samsara to smell; exotic, mysterious and elegant. I can now see why Fendi Theorema has a multitude of fans that mourn her disappearance from the shelves. The opening is a tad sour and astringent with black pepper, rose hip, cinnamon, cardamom, carnation and lemon. I wasn't so convinced in the initial stages, yet as this fragrance developed further I came to enjoy its aroma. The rosewood and gaiac wood notes soften this fragrance considerably, creating a smooth, sensual woodsy-spicy scent. Fendi Theorema is the kind of fragrance you would reach for when meeting with friends at a fancy wine bar or when dressing to impress. It hints at evening-themed frivolity and becomes an easy scent to crave during the cooler weather. The sillage is moderate on my skin, and the longevity an impressive six to eight hours, (I did, however, apply more of this fragrance than I bargained for, so perhaps the hefty dose attributed to the excellent lasting power).

Every time I wear this, I probably go through at least 0.5 ounce because I love it so much but longevity and sillage leave much to be desired. I have some of the mini dabbers and I use a whole one each time I wear this and it's way too expensive to be doing that. The scent is Beautiful though, if only it had more oompf. Meh.

Believe the hype. I managed to acquire an 85% full bottle at a reasonable price and I think it's incredible! I have been transitioning into my heavier amber/spice/incense orientals for the past few weeks. Many of them end up smelling just like the one I wore the day before, with subtle differences only apparent if you're paying attention. Theorema is different. Yes, it is spicy and loaded with cinammon, and amber and benzoin are there providing smoothness and an oriental touch, but something sets this apart and makes it immediately identifiable as Theorema. Is it the nutmeg?? I don't know!! They list lemon as a note, but I detect something closer to tangerine. As it mellows out, it becomes sweeter, with a faint floral dusting. Very decent projection, silage, and longevity. I have and have had several different Fendi perfumes over the years and this one is undoubtedly their masterpiece. I am so happy that it's now mine. If you can afford the prices it is going for then get it. It's niche quality. EDIT - It is definitely the nutmeg that makes this so unique. I smell it quite clearly now in the top and middle, and it is delicious.

According to the packaging, here are the notes in Fendi Theorema TOP: THAI SHAMOUTI, EGLANTINE, CALIFORNIA TANGELOS MIDDLE: JASMINE PETALS, AFGHAN SPICES, CINNAMON, PINK PEPPER, OSMANTHUS BASE: SPICY DUST / MUSK, HEART OF MACASSAR, SWEET CREAM / AMBER, GAIAC [sic] WOOD, MYSORE SANDALWOOD I bought this when it came out and break it out every autumn when the temperature and relative humidity goes down. I love this scent's top and middle notes, but I agree with other reviewers that it doesn't last. It quickly degrades to the base notes, and often it's the sharp amber that comes through strongest, especially when temperatures are warmer.

Me again, lol. My goodness, the longevity and sillage of this beautiful perfume is non-existent. What a Shame. I used a while mini bottle 3 hours ago and it's gone.

Also, I get a ton of nutmeg and vanilla on the drydown. This really does smell like candied fruits and nutmeg/vanilla. I SO WISH that this would last on my skin and project more. This beautiful scent sticks very close to the skin ☹️.

So pretty. I'm obsessed with vintages lately. This reminds me a lot of Dolce Vita, a fave of mine. I only wish it had better sillage.

Those who have this are extremely blessed. And I’m glad that someone mentioned Feminite du Bois. But there is an uncanny resemblance; Theorema just manages to convert an overly-used mandarin orange to become candied but it’s missing the liquor of Feminite. There’s also a slight smokiness underneath or perhaps that comes from black pepper with nutmeg? In any case, this is Fendi’s treat. Pretty but not insubstantial. Sweet but complex. It feels like every accord here has been accentuated by candied oranges. People mention it being reminiscent of Christmas or of the sort. Well who could blame them? When a perfume makes you feel cozy like when you eat your comfort dessert or when it’s the holiday season just around. Happiness bottled.

I blind-bought a mini to add to my "new millennium cinnamon collection" (Le Tigre, Organza Indecence, L), and I couldn't be happier. I love this kind of scents, but I must say that this one is special due to a smokey note I detect (guaiac? benzoin?) which makes it less gourmand and sexier than its cousins. Needless to say, it's so comforting it'll go straight to my favs, what a pity it has been discontinued. 8/10

Having been a huge Theorema girl, I have to say that between the poor longetivity of my recent decant and the near impossibility of actually buying a vintage bottle, I am sad to say that it is now off my list of favs. I did really LOVE it, but I think I can move on to other easier to find perfumes which last much longer anyway. My love, you broke my heart :(
