I like this. Love love love leather scents. This one is very unisex. I imagine I can smell it on a sexy cowboy or cowgirl walking past.

Bought a sample for the pirate vibe. Very nice but sadly fleeting - I have drier skin and couldn't smell it after the first ten minutes. It's possible this will do better in the summer

24/10/25 This smell is the vibe of freshly made Old-Fashioned. I agree with all of the notes in this, it is true to those notes. Unisex and delicious. I feel this would be a safe blind buy, it smells like dried, fruit, resin, precious, yummy smelling things. Silage, non-existent. I wear this for myself, for the few minutes I can smell it on myself. It still feels worth the price point because those few moments smell amazing! 26/5/26 Update! I became obsessed with this from a sample and bought a full bottle, but then found it too masculine on me after a while and began rarely reaching for it, then not reaching for it at all and looking sadly at the bottle. I was hanging with a guy friend and asked if I could spray it on him and in my opinion it works SO much better as a male fragrance! It smells delicious and complex, and it stayed on him for hours. I’m probably going to end up selling this and giving my friend a little vial of it before I do because it just suited him so well.

Pineapple, fruit, and resin opening. It then becomes very faint, but I do sense cacao and orange and coffee. It is a juxtaposition of hyper sweet smoothed by mellow notes. Like chocolate covered, sweet, sugared orange or pineapple fruit. It dries down to faint vanilla honey. This fizzles so fast - weak, weak, weak!

I don’t know how to react to this one. The opening is nice and but in less than 10 minutes it develops to a chaotic mess. It smells like the bin from a cafe which has food scrape from all their signature dishes, some still fresh some slightly fermented. You can imagine how amazingly they would smell or taste like when served in their original state, but now they are just mixed and mashed together with some used tissues.

Update: a year later and I still like the opening, it’s giving sophisticated grandma who goes to dimly lit whiskey lounges. Love the cacao on opening, but something has that screechy soapy rancidity that makes me nauseous. It reminds me of a very specific food, but I can’t quite place my finger on it right now. For now, I’ll say chocolate coated pineapple. It’s a nice scent, boozy with cacao and fruit in the right way. Spicy, little woody, and just a hint of resin in the follow through. I think I’d prefer this on my partner.

It is a sweet one — but truly I think this has some character. A job well done for a masculine pineapple honey fragrance. I agree with the consensus that the performance is disappointing as this lasts about two hours on my skin. 7.8/10

This is sweeter than I prefer, but I see why so many people like it. It's VERY fruity, so if that's what you're after in a boozy scent, this'll be just the thing for you. Just not quite my speed, personally. Great house, though-- I'm a big fan of Bonne Chauffe and Speakeasy, so if this doesn't quite hit the mark for you, it's worth sampling some of the brand's other offerings.

I bought a tester of this from Libertine. I have tried it twice now and both times it is totally delicious... Top notes are a fresh, sweet vanilla and resinous warmth and heart notes are a sweet, spicy and woody incense. Reminds me a teensy bit of the original formulation of Si by Giorgio Armani. Really tempted to buy this but it becomes a skin scent quite quickly and not sure how well it projects. The skin scent is delicious though... Warm and musky and natural. Edit: Just bought a full bottle. Love it so much, longevity is the only downside. My mate could not smell it on me but I can smell it, so perhaps that's all that matters? This would be a good layering scent. Another edit: Stopped wearing it as I decided that it leans too masculine on me, but sprayed it on a male friend and it smelled amazing on him and lasted for hours as well! Did not have staying power on me. Might also be because it is winter.

It does remind me of a vineyard’s cellar. Very earthy. Fruity at first but that faded in 30 minutes for me. The middle and base wasn’t very dynamic but longevity was decent at 4-5 hours with one spray. This is best for autumn evenings and the right occasions. I like it but don’t love it. 5/10.

Absolutely incredible gourmand scent - great ripe pineapple top note and sweet dried fruits woody drydown with floral undertones. DS&Durga kinda cloned this (and simplified a little) with Black Magenta - they are VERY similar hand to hand until deep drydown. Gorgeous, but it has outrageously low projection. Sprayed 8 times for work, and friend was able to smell anything only after I put my arm near her nose. I am usually dousing myself with it and enjoying it by myself because it then creates cozy scent bubble. Gotta admit that at first it didnt wow me, but thanks to the depth and the smooth transitions in the scent made me purchase full bottle, which looks amazing and has great pressurized atomizer. Don't pay retail for these parameters though, I was able to get one for 90$. The flanker (1270 Extreme) is disappointing to say the least - huge amount of jasmine surely boost the projection, but the scent is not as balanced as this in my opinion.

Maybe I’m nose blind to it. To my nose it’s nondescript fruity notes with almost a pine vibe like old school men’s fragrances dry down. And very musky. Synthetic musks. Non descript. The notes looks great but I’m not getting much at all. 3/10

Winter holidays in a bottle. Not the stereotypical Christmas scenario, but rather the scent memory of meeting up with friends in bars, going around town and choosing what to gift between flower bouquets and bottles of good booze. The opening was strong pineapple and citrus. The citrus peel note then stays throughout the fragrance's transformation, but it gets gradually more complex, warmer and boozier. Rum is the star of the show here. Interesting that some people perceive this fragrance as more masculine, because personally I immediately thought the soft vanilla base and slight flowery notes make it mostly traditionally feminine. Very true that the longevity's not the best, though - there's even some good sillage but it all definitely disappears after just a couple of hours. Good idea to have a smaller bottle on hand, so you can re-spray.

Fruity opening, soft but enjoyable. You find the spices later. Still maintains a fruity profile, at least for me. It's ok. Not for me.

No surprise, this is an amber on top of a little bit animalic base with boozy fruity opening. I think that the top pineapple note as well as the combination of wood and honey in the base set this perfume apart from many of similar ones on the market. Other than that it's nicely blended and leaning slightly masculine.

Dried pineapple vanilla amber Delicious opening, dried fruits with an emphasis on the sugared tropical variety along the lines of pineapple or even papaya. This top accord dissipates in seconds revealing a very smooth and delicate amber heart, to my nose a delicate blend of benzoin tonka and ample vanilla with a gentle dose of Christmas spice, more so baked good rather than cognac to my nose. Very delicate and effervescent for such a sweet and rich composition. I find the critic about the poor longevity understandable but is largely moot. Aromachemicals and even natural components fundamentally vary in terms of volatility and density, meaning natural and light elegance contradicts performance in most cases. This is an intricate and delicate amber for those looking to enjoy the experience of wearing it and perhaps sharing it intimately with their partner. Alternatively for a stronger yet somewhat reminiscent elegant fruity amber but darker experience Hermes Amber Narguile loosely comes to mind.

I can’t understand why anyone would think this is a feminine fragrance. It’s gorgeous, warm, comforting and gently sweet. I get amber and mildly fruity resin. It smells like jewel tones look. But it’s still a very masculine, sort of classic cologne vibe. It’s also incredibly weak, I just put a ton on my shirt and can barely smell it.

1270 simply doesn't perform well enough to be a serious competitor in the dried fruit/date/plum genre. It's a genre that I love. Le Dandy Pour Homme by D'Orsey and Michael for Men by Michael Kors are probably my favorites in this category. I would also prefer Rouge Sarây by Atelier des Ors, Dates Delight by House of Oud, Arabie by Serge Lutens, Across Sands by Maison Martin Margiela, or even Turath by Spirit of Dubai to 1270. I have to go searching for the scent by smelling my wrists directly, and after at least 15 sprays on skin and clothes I simply don't get a lot. It's a fairly nice scent, for what there is of it. I've ordered a bottle of Miles by Detaille, which supposedly is similar to 1270, but with slightly better performance. I'm always looking to expand my dried fruit/plum/date fragrance collection, but no need for a full bottle of Frapin 1270. Overrated with a Fragrantica score of 4.24.

I was really looking forward to trying Frapin fragrances after buying the sample set but sadly many have similar bases/DNA that did not agree with me. I'll try to spare any nasty remarks and add that this one aside from the notes I disliked had a dry down to honey wine/mead.

I don't leave many reviews on fragrances but this one deserves it. This is one of those fragrances that you just want to keep smelling all day. Even though the longevity isn't the best I think it's worth the money. It's a perfect 10/10 for fall and def works in winter n spring imo. The fragrance itself is very fruity and warm and dense all in good ways, it's boozy without being offensive and works unisex, overall just a great smelling cozy fragance. Honestly Frapins best release and better than the extreme version for sure.

Frapin 1270 was released in more innocent times of the YouTube fragrance community back when there was no product shilling, lies, and deception, the only thing that drove the original reviewers was their passion for perfume. Oh, how I missed these times when true fragrance gems were discovered, and almost every perfume had its real meaning and genuine excitement. Here are my thoughts about it. TOP NOTES First, let me answer the question everyone is probably wondering about. Does 1270 smell like a cognac? Well, yes and no. Nothing is boozy inside, but the overall feel of the mix gives you that warm experience cognac provides. I get the most creative use of fruits, spices, resins, and woods in a single fragrance. The opening is undoubtedly dominated by a pineapple that smells like the ones in a pineapple juice drink. It’s the same and has zero connection to the one in the more popular Creed Aventus. Besides the lovely pineapple, the candied fruits(mostly plum) share the opening and distinct touches of warm notes, such as semi-sweet hazelnut and ground coffee. HEART NOTES The middle stage seems to come quite quickly. I wish that the fragrance was more substantial and lasted longer since, in that case, I would easily place it in the Holy Grail category. The heart is dominated by generic spices and honey, which provide a natural, golden sweetness that feels comforting. The honey note is not overly sugary or cloying, offering a smooth and lush sweetness. It complements the initial burst of pineapple and dried fruits, smoothly transitioning from the top notes. BASE NOTES The base is like a warm scarf that guards you from the coldest winds during the winter. Yes, it is nothing special and overused to death at this point, but it works. I detect gourmand vanilla, honey, and tonka beans, with spicy residues from the heart notes. Now, 1270 deserved all those praises more than a decade ago. Probably because it was something new. These days? I’m over with these vanilla/tonka bean scents and have moved to something more interesting. OVERALL Now that this review is over, I can understand why 1270 was such a big hit in the early days of the fragrance community and why it is now practically forgotten. Looking at this release with more experience, I would suggest Dior Fahrenheit Le Parfum now since it offers better boozy aspects, better performance, and arguably better-quality ingredients. Wow, that's boozy. I'd put Rum in as a note. I get that "pirate" vibe along with Gorgeous Coffee, Cacao and vanilla. It truly is a fantastic gourmand, and the closest replacement i've found to my beloved "Paco Rabanne, Pure XS Night. If this had some caramel and less fruits (dried on not) It would probably be as close as it gets. Too boozy for me (i Hate boozy fragrances), but absolutely a delicious gourmand. I can see this being a winner for date nights and romantic nights with a gf/wife. (Do Not wear for first date. Too risky and too boozy) Can't say about longevity, as i had to scrub it of after an hour. I couldn't breath (i have long covid). It won't be that bad for most people. Score: 6/10. If i didn't find it so boozy, it would get an easy 8/10.
