I had the eau de parfum version 12 years ago, liked a lot but sadly it got discontinued and couldn't find it anymore, recently got a bottle of Flora by Gucci eau de toilette, I was thinking it'll be lighter than the EDP but the fragrance is very dense on peony and osmanthus and u get a lot of sandalwood, it lacks of the citruses that help the EDP to be balanced, I feel like it's very creamy and could be used on fresh spring days and even winter imo, because on warm days is very heavy and cloying for me, I gotta say the bottle is so classy and elegant.
I have 25 ml for sale/swap - Copenhagen, Denmark
The 3.66 rating in itself is a hate crime. This perfume is sooo beautiful and not at all generic, I don't know if the green juice smells different? Maybe they changed the formula? Anyway, the original 2009 version is severely underrated.
Category: Soft spicy, pink floral, powdery Notes: Sprays on a vibrant citrus and gently leathery osmanthus, soon joined by peony, an almost liquoricey pink pepper and a smooth, ever so slightly powdery sandalwood. With time the rose and rosy nuances of the pink pepper become more apparent. The overall scent impression is a soft, slightly spicy and rosy, pink floral. Vibe: Red licorice. Velvet. Cabriolet. Rose flavored marshmallows. Leather couch. Plaid pencil skirt and blazer. Black rimmed glasses. Massage therapy. Morning green tea. Laptop. Inner city parking. Portfolio. Saleswoman. Friday. Sillage: 6.5/10. Pretty impressive sillage for an EdT I must admit. Doesn't project a ton, but I wouldn't classify it as intimate either. It does lose strength with time and within a few hours it is however pretty much a skin scent. Longevity: 4/10. Longevity is less impressive, lasted me about 3-4 hours before it was so soft it was barely detectable. Wear: Day or evening, personally I'm leaning evening. I think this is a little too heavy for summer wear so I'd say probably best suited as a spring or fall perfume. A traditionally feminine scent most suited for age ranges 30-55. Office wear approved as it is very toned down and inoffensive. Overall rating: 6/10. So completely not my kind of frag, but I can't deny it is a very pleasant wear. I'd say this is the smoother, softer sister of Burberry’s The Beat - they share the same sort of powdery, soft and yet mature scent profile. Where The Beat is a bit overwhelming and problematic for people prone to get scent induced headaches, nausea or asthma, Flora by Gucci EdT is a lot more well-blended, subdued with a quiet poise. I think for those expecting a traditional peony fragrance, there's a risk of disappointment as I don't find this to represent what I know the fragrance note to be. What it does however carry with it from the peony is the maturity, making it feel a lot more adult and refined. To me the citrus, pink pepper and rose are what carry this scent, although I wouldn’t call it a rose scent either. Probably best described as a mildly powdery, soft and spicy pink floral. Who would wear it?: Casey Novak in Law & Order: SVU.
My name is Flora so I had to get myself a bottle of this! It’s a lovely, graceful sunshine fragrance, far more interesting than the recent Gucci Flora line. Wear this in the spring and summer and it’s like you’re walking through an English country garden, full of lush flowers, with a hint of nearby grasses and woodland blowing on the breeze. ps. sometimes on my skin this smells like mint choc chip icecream - which can only be a good thing...
I fell in love with Gucci Flora EDT when it was first released, and I still adore it, even though they’ve changed it quite a bit over the years. It smells like a garden full of big, luscious peonies and other delicate flowers right after a summer rainfall…fresh, dewy, and softly floral. There’s something so beautiful about it, like a gentle breeze carrying the scent of blooming petals. It’s delicate yet radiant, never overwhelming, just the perfect balance of airy florals and light sweetness. A delicate, feminine fragrance that still holds a special place in my heart.
This is my go-to everyday scent! It's fresh and floral without being overpowering. The citrus notes make it bright and uplifting, while the rose adds a touch of sweetness. Perfect for spring and summer!
Another fragrance I can’t believe they discontinued. Years later I still have a couple of bottles but will miss this fragrance when I run out.
Love this fragrance! Reminds me of my teenage party years as I wore it religiously , it lasts a very long time, on skin and clothes. I’ll have a shower and can still smell this on me. Its projection for a toilette is amazing! It’s a really nice fruity floral, defiantly smell the orange in this I can’t smell rose in particular , maybe more peony florals but it’s just so lovely. I would get this for a teen, but as an adult I would still wear this aswell if I want something that people are going to smell. 100% a compliment getter too. I thought all these years I had a parfum but only now I’ve looked at the bottle it’s a toilette and I’m pleasantly surprised !
A scent that falls into the category of “generic perfumey” but in a likeable way, similar in feel to Burberry’s Weekend. Peony/rose and patchouli would belie any attempt to pass this off as one’s natural aroma, but the osmanthus and sandalwood soften and blur the edges so it’s hard to say exactly where skin stops and this begins. It’s missing something texturally for me, but provides a pleasant fruity floral base for layering.
Fresh, clean and feminine. The soft floral scent is no doubt great for spring and summer wear.
I'm not a fan of patchouli at all, although there are fragrances that I love that contain patchouli when blended correctly such as Love Story by Chloe. This is a beautiful floral fragrance and it's blended beautifully. I'd say that this is probably the most detectable patchouli that I can stand and still love the fragrance. In this instant it works so well, just as it does with Gorgeous Gardenia and Gorgeous Jasmine. I love them all.
Is it out of production or just cannot find it in my city? Gorgeous floral scent, light, fresh, it is the BASE for all the other Gucci floral scents you see on the market today. The DNA is very traceable and distinct, but I still do not like any of the new variations as much as the classic Gucci Flora. It is feminine, for an elegant lady, yet nothing over the top. Was my signature in my twenties. Definitely a compliment getter. Would like to purchase it again, but some people who managed to put their hands on this scent recently say it has changed. Not sure what to make of it.
I received it as a gift from a very close friend and after smelling it I was quite surprised she picked this one for me. There is something irritating in this perfume and I can not put my finger on it. Been trying for almost a year to fall for it but I just can't. It's probably more masculine than I'm comfortable with. I wouldn't blind buy it myself.
Another fruity floral ruined by patchouli. Review of official carded spray sample that came free with purchase.
I thought I’m gonna wear it like light flower fragrance like modern Gucci Gardenia in green bottle, but day later it smells like Zielinski Rozen - Orange, Jasmine and Vanilla! Good to wear in the evening.
This is my top 3 fragrances. Floral sweet sophisticated fresh tender fresh clean, not basic or monotone at all. It's perfect for humid and hot weather. It's my signature scent in summer of all time !!! Please keep it continued. I watched in a video from Soki London that it will be discontinued this year, which is soooo sad. Please please please keep it continued !!
I tested both the Parfum and the toilette form of this perfume yesterday on my smell trip and as I am consulting my notes I made yesterday this morning I liked the parfum much better. It was deeper and richer, the toilette is a bit watered down. Gucci Flora is a pretty orange and citrus scent w/ a nice osmanthus heart. The parfum had a nice soft spicy scent as well, the pink pepper wasnt' overdone. I got zero peony w/ this yesterday, which is fine w/ me since I'm not a huge peony fan. If you like osmanthus and would like to have an osmanthus scent that is a bit more casual than a Burberry Society this is a good one to get before they are all gone since it is being discontinued.
This has been reformulated and the look is different too, it is a green juice now. It used to be very nice, I really enjoyed the old formulation. Now it’s just a shadow of what it once was. There is something missing, that made the fragrance for me. It’s just a meh fragrances now which is a shame.
What is happening with quality?
I first purchased the EDT about two months ago and thought the EDP was worth purchasing too. While very similar in composition their performances are surprisingly different.. Gucci Flora EDP is a deeper, richer concentration but it is more intimate. The EDT on the other hand is a tamer concentration but it amps the volume in sillage and projection. The opening is an explosion of garden flowers and osmanthus notes. It is almost like spraying your own garden bubble out of a bottle! It will be fun to test these in the upcoming warm months! My opinion, the edt is the better purchase. The edp's competing edge is slightly better longevity. Another moment of honesty, I found the scent off putting in colder weather so wait until warmer months for its beauty. Still keeping both. I will be layering edp under edt!
I was expecting this to be really boring, which it is, but it is also far lovelier than I assumed it would be. It makes itself a little more interesting with the "osmanthus" note which is not really osmanthus but is that nice apricot-y fruity-floral that I tend to gravitate towards. It's light, simple, non-offensive.
This is one of my favorite perfumes. It's definitely unique in my opinion and I have yet to smell something similar to it. The top notes I smell is peony and citrus. Very fresh, girly and clean. However, once it starts to dry down its creamy, a little powdery and definitely a lot of osmanthus. I personally don't get any of the bottom notes, however it does last long on the skin and it probably has a lot to do with the pink pepper. I would recommend this fragrance because it's definitely hard to dislike, therefore I think its a safe blind buy if you like soapy yet sweet, clean scents.
If you want fresh cut florals this is not it. It smells like the dumpster behind a florist shop, wilted flowers fermenting under the humid sun. Accented by some musty musky smell
How does this smell like fresh floral, creamy, slight spicy rain? It does and I love it. Especially for rainy, cold days it fits the aroma so well while having a sophisticated feel to it. The opening is a bit sharp, I was afraid I wouldn't love it, but after an hour or two it's a creamy fresh floral I adore. This with the osmanthus that give it a citrusy peach vibe that's fizzy, uplifting and highly youthful. The sillage/scent trail is gorgeous and lasts about 4-5 hours on my skin while being a skin scent for 7. Usually I have a dislike for patchouli but I really like it in this as it is complemented by the pink pepper and sandalwood that makes it everso earthy, creamy with the slightest fresh pink pepper spice. Smells natural but not dirty. Might become my signature
Gucci Flora EDT is not for my particular taste. My senses are hit with a clash between the citrus and pink pepper. Also, the dry down is just too acidic and bitter for me. I've been layering this fragrance with sweeter scents in order to enjoy the high quality juice. For instance, Jo Malone or Aerin scents can be acceptable layers to Gucci Flora EDT. Finally, I plan on unloading this beautiful bottle. It belongs to someone who loves the scent!
You know how it seems like some high school drama productions are only held together by the cheapest can of hairspray, 5-Hour Energy (orange flavor), and an animalistic need for attention? Well, now you do.
A straight up hippie scent. It has a boho vibe, always makes me think of Florence Welch. It smells really nice, but not beautiful imo. It just takes a right woman for this one I think. I think somebody whos into taxidermy and who enjoys vibing in dusty attics and old books and such. Everytime I wear it I feel so weird tbh. Most Guccis in my opinion lack in the department of magic and so does this one, but either way try before you buy.
Have you ever smelled a tweenager's meth lab? No? Neither had I, Gucci Flora. Neither had I.
When my perfume collection was <10 bottles, this was the most grown-up perfume I had. It was the first foray into florals stronger than just backing up a fruity composition, and was intoxicating to my boyfriend at the time. I think his appreciation for it deepened my liking for it. Revisiting it years later, it is pleasant, it is unique, but I don't think I like it as much as I did back then. (And neither does he - he doesn't recognize it!) The bottle is hefty and super pretty on top of a vanity, though. The scent pyramid is pretty accurate. Smelled from the cap, it's a very blended mishmash of peony, citrus fruits (but not in a really fresh/uplifting way, just in a non-jammy way), and osmanthus. Once sprayed, the drydown has a muskier and sweet osmanthus shining through, with the citrus long gone. It lasts about 6 hours on skin, and at least the day on clothes.
