one of the best fresh masculine fragrances ever created... what i loved about this line is this innovative masculine accord that is achieved without heavy woods or leathers etc, but by mint, greens and citruses!

Анонім

Really unique and fresh, sadly lasts about half an hour.

Анонім

Luxury Cologne for men, Guerlain should put this back on sale.

When this was released in the late 2000s, Guerlain pushed this as smelling like a mojito, which was back then the most popular cocktail; oddly, they also gave it the kind of name ("Homme") that suggested they had confidence it would endure as a classic masculine fragrance in their line-up. This has really not turned out to be the case. The mojito is far less popular as a cocktail more than 15 years later than it was in 2008, and the dominance of woodiness (from the cedar) and grassiness (from the vetiver) actually keep in from really smelling fully reminiscent of a mojito anyway, despite the lime and mint. This smells more like a mixture of vetiver, rhubarb, mint, rum, and some tart fruits (lime and rhubarb). Its opening is too acrid; but when it dries down, it's quite pleasant--unfortunately, it then becomes mostly a skin scent. I cannot recommend buying this as a result. It seems like a real misfire.

Is anyone in the UK interested in buying an 80ml boxed/sealed bottle of this rare, discontinued fragrance? It is boxed and sealed, and has been correctly stored in a dark wardrobe in a cool bedroom. If anyone is interested, please send me a message privately. UK only, due to postage restrictions.

Not really nice and fresh, smells like common green fragrance There is a lean woodines/powdery in dry down

Анонім

This is way underrated. Fresh and clean with a sharp wooden drydown. The notes look masculine but the effect is more unisex. This begins with that "mojito". I don't get much booziness but it's a very pleasant accord: a heavy dose of lime and a touch of gentle, green-not-toothpastey mint. Then we come to a middle that's completely excluded from the notes list: this is clean and soapy with a great non-descript floral quality. This brings to mind old school barbershops or aftershaves but the floral elements still keep this closer to unisex for me. As that fades we get to those sharp woods. The vetiver is predominant here and there's little more to say about the ending. If they had smoothed out the woods a bit or added more musk or ambergris to round out the base, I think it would be even better, but as it is this is great stuff that I'm surprised didn't sell better

I have an unpoened 80ml box of this juice for reasonable (friendly) price. If you are interested dm me.

Анонім

The rum note reminds me of Lolita Lempicka Au Masculin.

Guerlain homme is so nice!! A refreshing, cool, elegant scent with the class of guerlain! Great blend of lime, mint, vetiver and cedar that gives a nice taste of Mojito. It's simple but not boring, guerlain homme is the proof that sometimes less is more. It's not super complex but quite easygoing, another fragrance that has a similar fresh-cocktail vibe Is shogun by alain Delon, but it's only my opinion. For spring and summer this is a great choice, for every situation and fit good for people over 25-28. Average performance . If you have the chance to buy the old formula just grab it! Guerlain homme è un toccasana per le stagioni calde. Fresco ed elegante, ha un sapore simile al mojito che a me piace molto. Se avete l'occasione di prendere la vecchia versione pensateci seriamente! Scent-8,5 Longevity - 7 Sillage-7 Versatility-8,5 Uniqueness-8 Compliment factor-8 Backup bottle? Yes Presentation-7 My vote-8,5 In one word- mojito Alternative - guerlain homme intense, alain Delon shogun The review is based on a vintage version, not the long bottle or the most recent.

I wish I could buy this :( I had a bottle back when it was launched. My best friend got the petit robe noir and we wore our guerlain perfumes. It is such a nice fragrance for warm weather without being aquatic or fresh or too citrucy. Could only find the new edp in the square bottle and not sure if I will like it....

Анонім

(2008 EDT) Sparkling, light and perfect for those hot summer days. Longevity has never been the best for me with this one (4 hours, maybe), but your mileage may vary. Either way, I don't mind reapplying or over-spraying to start as this is light enough not to choke you out. The "effervescent" mojito note is real, making it super refreshing, minty and sweet yet tart... One of my all-time faves. I've not tried the newer "square" versions of this, but hope they're in the same ballpark.

Анонім

This review is for the 2008 version with the bottle you see in this page. I agree completly with the comment below "This is a fragrance that has a "cologne" vibe to it, in the sense that it smells like a fragrance, If you know what i mean.". This is the classiest ever fragrance that has the cologne signature : it is classy, fresh and clean. You can imagine easily the ad of eau sauvage extract from the handsome Alain Delon 1968 film where he's by the poolside on a hot summer's day in the south of France. This "cologne" evocates this cliché more than eau sauvage. It's for me a kind of modern eau sauvage with the boozy and mint notes.

Super excited! Just bought a bottle with a 2008 batch for 99leva equivalent of €49 -ish. Can't wait to try it 👏👏👏

This thread is for the Guerlain Homme several versions ago. It's impossible to find. It's not in stores. I think many recent reviews in this thread actually belong in the "Guerlain Homme 2016" thread. And even that thread is misleading. Because the new square bottles are yet another reformulation - mostly impacting projection and longevity. Guerlain Homme 2016 was released in tall rectangular bottle. I have that one. And I have this old 2008 version as well. 2008 and 2016 (rectangle bottle) perform VERY WELL. If you are reviewing the square bottle currently in stores, say so and even better, post in the correct thread.

Lemon lime sugar. To say this is a scent that suppose to represent masculinity for the brand name . It’s sucks. I never liked this fragrance as I revisited after, sniffing Xerjoff rennasaince. . To lemony , icy and sugary. One of the few Guerlain fragrances I dislike.

Анонім

just bought it a couple of days ago, been wearing it a couple of times, I must say the scent is a quite unique, freshie with a bit of spicy in the opening & it stays like that for a couple of hours, sadly performance on my skin is below average & it only last 2-3 hours. sprayed it in the morning around 7 am now its 9.30 & I only get a skin scent.

Анонім

Based on the note profile of this one (and comparing to L'eau Boisee) I expected this to have a stronger personality - more of a masculine kick. Or should I say “two shots in my mojito, please”. In reality, it’s a smooth blend of all the notes that are listed, just done in a delicate kinda’ way. The result in my opinion leans somewhat soapy and (ever so slightly) powdery.

Анонім

This is a really underrated scent. It's a shame it was discontinued. It has character and class. I prefer scents like these more than the Bleu de Chanel and Sauvage scents and their clones that are popular these days. A young man could rock this as much as a more mature man. It isn't too strong or offputting, and suits any occasion. I like the minty mojito profile. I find this to be long lasting as well.

Анонім

This is a fragrance that has a "cologne" vibe to it, in the sense that it smells like a fragrance, If you know what i mean. Smells great, has good performance, especially projection in the first hour, and it always makes me happy. Cannot go wrong with it in a summer day. Very similar to the edp version.

Анонім

Perfect for sunny day. A citrus aromatics fragrance with green nuance. Gives you sensation of sipping a mojito, while sit back and relax, sunglasses on, under the shades of beach umbrella, and listening to ocean wave. Super tangy lime and burst of bergamot, meets freshly crushed mint leaves and rum with a background of vetiver and cedar. Easy but unforgettable. The old bottle and (maybe) formulation is the best from Guerlain freshie department. Two thumbs up for master Thierry Wasser and Sylvaine Delacourte.

Guerlain Homme is a super underrated fragrance and it deserves more love. It is a timeless classic, but it what I love about it is just the fact that it is a unique fragrance that is versatile, smells awesome, and has a decent performance for a freshie like this one. Just like what you have read hundreds of times before, Guerlain Homme is a refreshing mojito in a bottle. It is a summer and spring fragrance that smells minty, kinda boozy, fresh, citrusy, spicy, earthy, and just a tad woody. It is not as spicy as the Intense flanker, but the spiciness is still there. It is an incredible blend, honestly. Despite going in a different route, I found that Guerlain Homme has a similar vibe to Concentre d'Orange Verte by Hermes. But that similarity lies only in the vibe and the feeling wearing them, because they smell totally different. That similarity is just the comfort of smelling and sniffing it over and over again, but I can sense that satisfaction a lot more when wearing Guerlain Homme. Why? Well, because it literally lasts around 4x as long as the Hermes with a much better projection. Not that Guerlain Homme is super strong, but that Hermes just lasts for around 1.5 to 3 hours on my skin, with a very soft projection. On the other hand, Guerlain Homme can last for 6 to 7 hours on my skin, with a moderate projection in the first hour or so and then it sits closer to the skin. I can say that Guerlain Homme is a safe blind buy, especially if you like how mojito smells in a fragrance. The Intense version is darker, sharper, and heavier to me, so the original EDT is just a bit more wearable. Both of them are awesome, though. Got the EDT instead, because the Intense or the EDP (in that tall bottle) are getting a lot harder to find here.

Анонім

Such a sweet and fresh scent, very inoffensive and slightly musky. Good choice for someone wanting a masculine leaning fragrance that doesn't want to overpower.

Анонім

After the dry down the mint and boozy notes take over and this is pretty much what lingers. I like it as its very unique and it has a freshness to it at the same time that would make this one easy to approach and inoffensive. As far as performance goes I got about 7-8 hours on it so that's pretty decent for a fresh fragrance. I don't think this one will do well in the colder months as it doesn't give me that warm/spicy feeling which is weird since the boozy notes are so heavy.

Анонім

An ice-fresh citrus-mint fragrance darkened by rum and finished off with limes that is meant to evoke -- the mojito! This is an ideal summer scent -- fresh/ young/ playful yet elegant! The sleek stream-lined bottle, designed by Pininfarina, obviously helps in its appeal. Recommended!

Анонім

This is gorgeous. If you like a mojito, you will like this, it really is a mojito smell. Opens with a beautiful blast of citrus and mint before the dry down turning into a cool sweet mojito frangrance. I do also get a slight sun cream Sandy beach smell too but that could just be by association. Delicious, makes my mouth water.

Анонім

I think the citrus in this is too piercing. All in all it’s a nice fragrance but I feel like it’s too blunt and would work better on an older man (>50). Performance and sillage are solid. I would recommend dior homme cologne for the younger crowd who are into citrusy scents.

Анонім

One of my favorites but took several applications to show itself. Quite consistently now, upon application I get something I can only describe as cherry cough syrup (!) off the top. The move to the mid/base is fairly quick and within 5 minutes I get the lovely effervescent lime, mint plus subtle sweetness many have compared to a mojito. Fairly linear, but no issue at all with that for a frag as lovely as this top to bottom. Sillage and longevity are both moderate on me (sitting here getting wafts after having put on a shirt I wore it on last night ~18hrs ago). Well constructed, beautiful spring/summer freshie. Overall great value. 4.5/5

Анонім

It is my favorite from Guerlain, a great pity that they took it out of production. They replaced it with perfume water, which now comes in a rectangular bottle, the same one from Vetiver and Habit Rouge. the same projection and freshness as the original. What can you want in summer more than the coolness of crushed mint leaves and covered with the juice of a lime, over which you sprinkled a little white rum? .... mmmmm .... refreshing, effervescent, delicious! It's a mystery to me that it didn't catch on to the public. It had all the advantages of a megahit: brand, funny promotional advertising, glass with a unique design and last but not least exceptional perfume.

Анонім

Better than the EDP for me! Yes, it lacks longevity, but by trying to increase it, the EDP loses the freshness and identity. It’s a pity that the EDT is discontinued as it’s so fresh and whilst the EDP is 90% similar, the 10% heaviness spoils it imho.
