L’Homme Idéal Cool

L’Homme Idéal Cool probably has one of the most interesting combinations I’ve ever tried in a summer fragrance: MINT and ALMOND. The mint gives it that cool, green freshness, while the almond brings a soft sweetness, with some citrus, neroli and a slightly woody touch in the background. Somehow it’s not too sweet, not too fresh, it’s just RIGHT. And of course, you can still feel that typical Guerlain quality in the way everything is blended. It’s such a shame this one was discontinued. If you ever find a 50 ml or 100 ml bottle around €100, I honestly think it’s an exceptional buy.

Really good designer perfumery. It's got a minty, fresh, bath salt kind of smell and the almond twist gives it the sweet creamy L'Homme Ideal DNA. People-pleaser scent profile, perfect for the office or daily wear. Shame it's discontinued. Smell: 8/10 Performance: 6/10 Presentation: 7/10 Value: 8.5/10 Overall: 8/10

Came back just to say again - this is still my no.1 scent. Its really very hard not to like it. Almost impossible. The fresh, balanced scent literally refreshes you and gives you amazing confidence boost. Its minty, almondy and peppery and is very well rounded and blended. It has that Guerlain DNA that takes it to the next level. Where i live im gatekeeping it - got tons of compliments but between us - Buy it and thank me later! :)

It’s a sporty scent that is distinguished. It has clean notes and those that are “kind of” synthetic, hence sporty. Compared to other sporty fragrances, this one makes sense, so it seems to beat out Polo, Varvados, potentially Chanel. Here, there’s something else interesting — minty, added cooling herbs that sizzle while being sporty. Definitely a scent to consider. Additionally, it reminds me of something specific, a memory. I decided to classify Cool among green scents, but it should be noted that this one is exceptionally cooling and quite light — it’s hard to place. Maybe one could say it’s a Polo Green scent, incredibly delicate. Nevertheless, it’s also a sporty category, but it would be hard to call it a classic pepper water like Profumo or Ultime. The guy is truly green, in a modern way, reminiscent of pepper water, but somewhat minty.

I was at a Sephora in Aruba of all places and they had multiple bottles of Cool for sale. I had skipped it when it originally came out and thought it would be nice to test it. The opening is a harshly synthetic/medicinal mint and anise combo🤢. The base is the Ideal base you find in Cologne. I can see why this was panned at release. Once it settles it is…fine? Just a worse version of Ideal Cologne. Longevity is 5-7 hours and projection is decent for an hour or so. A 6.5/10. That opening is brutal. Calling this a masterpiece is discontinued hype coloring a pretty lousy fragrance.

Such a shame that this one has been discontinued. I got a bottle some time ago while it was still being sold at normal discounter prices, it was a blind a buy, if I had known what a wonderful scent this is, I would have bought back up bottles, which is something I usually am against. This is fresh, with the mint, almond and watery notes taking centre stage. In my personal opinion way better than the cologne.

I found a cheap bottle and it's very similar to Guerlain Homme EdP. I find having both as being redundant even if they have small differences. It's a green aromatic with the almondy guerlinade base. If that's what you're after, just get Homme.

Literally no one cared about this when it was still widely available. People even bashed this saying it was a lacklustre release and it can never be like the cologne version. Now it’s discontinued and all of a sudden the same people are calling it a “masterpiece”. GTFOH! 🤣 Fragcomm can be so annoying sometimes.

This EDT seems to be discontined. Too bad, since it's a very nice green, fresh and modern Fougere with an elegant, classic and Guerlain-esque Neroli touch, plus weight and depth coming from the Patchouli/Vetiver base. Good longevity and projection, and very versatile.

This one is an absolute masterpiece. My friend had this fragrance and it smelled amazing. I sprayed it on me and couldnt stop smelling it as i drove home. Now, 4 years later he gifted it to me because its discontinued and its the best gift ever. Really fresh and masculine and full of Guerlain dna which i love. In my opinion Guerlain really knows their way around fragrances and in this case i understand why their fragrances can be pricy.

Just discovered this scent at my local DFS (we don't have much fragrances on this island) and it was amazing. Seems it's discontinued now which is a shame. I find this to be a sniff of a masterpiece. Trying to find it online but no luck.. 10/10 for the high heat. The coolness of the mint is one of the most refreshing scents ever! The pros list is accurate to me.

Bring this back!

I remember back when this was released, people here were bashing it and complaining about the fact that it's replacing the Cologne that got discontinued back then. Now this is getting discontinued, and all of a sudden it's becoming a masterpiece. Either people were exaggerating back then, or exaggerating right now. But I know something for sure, when a loved perfume gets discontinued, people automatically hate the replacement, no matter what. I see this with Acqua di Gio Parfum, they hate it because it replaced Profumo, while in reality Parfum is miles better than Profumo in every aspect. Judgements are often clouded with many emotional factors.

Discontinuing this fresh, invigorating, minty gem was a crime against humanity! I said what I said! Upcoming summers won't be the same without it... Really mad at Guerlain for this uncalled for move! And they didn't even roll it out with a "Limited Edition" warning or anything. Such a shame!

Unfortunately discontinued but I've found a bottle at a discounter and locally with a few ml used. Nice minty fresh with the almond base like the rest of the line. I've come to love this even more than the cologne. What I did not expect was the longevity. I've sprayed some on my hand yesterday and I can still smell it 24 hours later!

Tried this as a sample 3 years ago, beautiful fresh elegant classy, discontinued and extremely hard to find. there is also a Sport version which is not as good and so generic CK type of smell. If you could find a bottle don't hesitate.

The mint in this mixed with the neroli is what I love about this fragrance. My only regret is not getting two bottles when I ordered one. Fantastic!!

I just saw 100ml bottle in Muller drugstore. 80€. I guess it's not disconnected....or they still have old batches.

This is one of the best fresh fragrances I've ever smelled, and probably my favorite one of all. It's a minty, refreshing, and invigorating blend of citrus and woods. It is genuinely tragic that this was discontinued. Even worse, I knocked over my bottle and shattered it. Only about 20ml remain.

I am genuinely upset about this perfume being discontinued!! I swear it makes me mad 😠 I wish who ever discontinued this perfume to be prosecuted for perfume crimes 😅 Seriously, what a shame and literally a bad move from Guerlain; i lost my trust in this brand after such a bad decision! Amazing perfume, the person behind this decision should never work in the perfume industry; perhaps at a retail store selling undies 🙊

Discontinuing this exquisite summer mint freshie was a criminal move and I am still on the verge of suing! This is so unfair! Just when I thought I have found my favourite mint fragrance it gets discontinued! How fucking rude of Guerlain! They churn out thousands of new and old fragrances yet it would kill them to keep this unique, interesting fresh gem alive for their customers? Angry and disappointed, ngl!
