Nose Note #1129 You can see how it's coming from the same One Man Show old school background, but instead of being just green and herbaceous this ventures into the leather field of old school. To understand the direction - imagine Aramis Aramis or Azzaro Pour Homme and make it less realisticly herbaceous and slightly more modern. This is basically it. Not exactly a soothing pill for leather lovers. This is more green than leathery to my nose. The opening is very pissy and somewhat similar to Bogart Arabian Nights. Well... Just not my cup of tea at all. Definately wearable, but this leather accord makes this even more old school than anything else in the One Man Show lineup. Performance and all is as always amazing, but at what cost... Doesn't smell that beautiful or to say the least elegant and expensive. 5.4/10
What a terrible fragrance. I don't mind cheap oud fragrances—in fact, I enjoy some of them—but this one is just awful. It's extremely synthetic, with a medicinal, metallic dry down. There's nothing oud-like about it, nothing warm, and nothing animalic. It's not worth even its cheap price.
One of the best values in perfumery. You don't have to spend big bucks to smell sharp!
A modern meets retro masterpiece for under 20 bucks Not much like the original One Man Show but retains some basic elements. Its a French gangster Oud meets Arabia meets retro chypre wearing a leather jacket, smoking a cigar...masculine, interesting, mysterious and moody GORGEOUS .............i can't deny it Not monster performance but does its job efficiently and without fuss, its strong but subtle Awesome for its price, a rare cheap diamond in the rough. You'd be an idiot to never at least try it Let it sit for six months and you'll understand
Not gonna lie: this stuff STINKS. I love galbanum, but the top notes are nonexistent. I mostly get an extremely synthetic oud, leather and patchouli. Excellent longevity; moderate sillage. Cheap 80's powerhouse in a bottle. If you're looking for a fragrance that evokes a chain-smoking barrel-chested hirsute man rocking a gaudy gold chain and a leather jacket, look no further. Otherwise, save your hard-earned dollars.
I’ve recently purchased two fragrances. Halfeti (£215) and this (£22). Halfeti is a beautiful fragrance but it’s a skin scent within 2 hours, which for me doesn’t represent value for money. However this is a beast. Might not get as many compliments as its expensive rival. But for the price and longevity it pisses all over its expensive counterpart.
Love at first sniff. It really brings Leather Oud to my mind, which is a quite unique take on animalics. At this price point this is virtually a gift, it was a no-brainer to also buy a backup bottle. I only know I've other fragrance from the brand, the wonderful City Tower which I love. This is bold and in-your-face. When would I wear it? Definitely appropriate for stables, also to mechanic visits but I don't go to such places, and any time I want people to stay away or defer to me. Not really for home, though, as it is really strong and my boyfriend doesn't like these kinds of scents. The drydown rather reminds me of Nudiflorum or Irish Leather. Not bad, and it gets milder at least, but it can't beat the opening. Even later it turns into acrid smoke. What a badass. For people wanting smoke scents, this could be perfect!
This is masculinity in a bottle. It's strong, bold and projects like a monster. This is clearly a homage to 80s powerhouse fragrances. If you like subtle scents or enjoy smelling like vanilla ice cream and strawberries, steer clear. This is rugged. You won't get compliments in this day and age. My GF finds it sexy but she's probably in the minority. I recently acquired two 2021 bottles. Yes, it's backup bottle worthy. When 95% of the market is sweet-scented fragrances, I stock up on "vintage" scents whenever I can. The first night I got this, I did four sprays (three on neck area and one on my bed shirt). I could still smell it on my shirt the next morning. Like I said, a beast.
The first thing you'll see when you use it is a drunk cowboy in a leather jacket emerging from a bar at night, cigar in hand urinating under a pine tree. When it dries down, it transitions from a country scent to an old-noir atmosphere.
Had my babe sniff this after around 20 minutes of the spray, to get a second opinion... She said: Nice, it kinda smells like "baby powder" (WTF?). I don't know what "baby powder" she been sniffing that smells like this. Crazy wild stuff. In case you're wondering, it does not smell like baby powder at all. But I guess smell is relative as taste is like butt - each person has their own, paired with its own compatible "baby powder" apparently. Color me perplexed. I should just be grateful for having a woman that can appreciate this scent her own way.
Funky memories in a bottle. Even though this wasn’t around yet I swear, this scent takes me back — five years old, standing at a toilet that came up to my chin, catching the milky white pine-Sol my mom left behind. Strange? Maybe. Nostalgic? Absolutely. Now, I get a funky, slightly “pissy oud” vibe — in a good way. Something my dad or grandpa might’ve worn. It’s got that vintage, lived-in character, the kind of scent that tells a story before you even know it. Oh but the magic and the reward is the dry down. Green Polo does it better, sure — but under fifteen bucks? It does scratch the green polo itch a bit . Love that stuff. This one hits hard for the price. Weird? Yeah, maybe. But damn… I smell good. 👍
Was really excited to try this. My first oud fragrance. I may have to let it macerate a while. Right now it just smells like old furniture to me, with like a burnt synthetic undertone. Not able to detect any top notes or spices yet. Will update soon. Update: This smells a little fresher and spicier now, which is good. A little sweet and smokey. I don't notice anything animalic or dirty though, which is disappointing because that's what I was hoping for. It's not a bad scent, but it does feel synthetic. I'm not a fragrance snob or anything, but it seems pretty synthetic to me. Update 2: This has improved alot. It seems more blended and less synthetic now. I've been enjoying it alot around the house. It actually seems pretty easy to wear, I might wear it to work one day. I find it masculine, but not overly masculine. It's a little soft, a little spicy, a little sweet. I think I get leather, but it's a different type of leather than I'm used to. It's definitely a warm and cozy cold weather type of fragrance. Not as dirty as I'd hoped, but that's ok lol.
Would not call this oud, it’s a cheap old school synthetic scent similar to original (homme) but without lavender with synthetic leather and somewhat animalic accords. Blind bought it because of reviews, but I don’t think I will ever wear it
Smells very much like incense, and I can even point to a very specific one. To my nose this is the "Nag Champa" of the One Man Show line. IYKYK
It smells like someone put a leather jacket on a tree and pissed on it while smoking a cigar. In a good way, of course.
Whoever you think you are, Jacques Bogart Oud IS. Thick ozone of leather, a little backing of incense, and just when you tell yourself you bit off a little more daddy than you can chew (or swallow), this soft woodiness gives you a little forehead kiss to let you know you’ve been a good girl. Have you ever taken your car into the shop and watched the handsome grease monkey crank his wrench and think “damn I wanna be his tool”? This isn’t how he smells. It’s how the dude he bottoms for smells. The florals and bergamot are there…I guess. They peak through the blinds like little voyeurs, they fantasize about their neighbor Jacques but they’d never know what to do with him if he burst through that door in his leather harness. This juice is goated. The designer slop section of Sephora is a cuck chair for watching what Mr Bogart does. Nothing will be the same after you smell this. The fact that it’s $15 should be illegal.
On the very first spray, I know this will be a fall and winter favorite. Opens with a very nice leather and spice, maybe a touch of citrus with a little oud way in the back. The first 10 seconds has a slight 'new car smell' going on, but that fades quickly. As it dries down, leather stays dominant, with the oud coming through a bit more, and some lingering slightly spicy bitter orange. Even though the scent is pretty straightforward, it is quite beautiful. On my skin it lasts all day with the last couple of hours being close to the skin. If this came in a Tom Ford bottle or from a niche house, it would cost 10x as much and people would happily pay it. OMS Leathery Oud would be a more descriptive name though.
The first thing I notice is styrax, a darker vibe but immediately flirting with gourmand notes. It feels reminiscent of Coeur de Noir—somewhat provocative, dark, yet gourmand. There’s leather too, and if you focus, I sense more leather here than in that one. Definitely worth exploring the whole Bogart range, because none of those scents were trivial—they all had strong character. Recently, I tried Active Bodies—it could smell like this if someone gave it another thoughtful spin. It’s not a threatening scent; quite the opposite, it’s warm and pleasant. I don’t understand the criticism or warnings around it. I’d compare it to Bel Ami, Fendi, older leather scents—maybe Trussardi? Possibly some of the lower-end Tenere versions? Perhaps even Dior Homme Parfum territory. However, there’s quite a bit of sweetness here. It has nothing to do with Gucci GA.
It’s a great but very synthetic smelling cheap fragrance that in high doses smells like a turducken made from stuffing the ass of a musk deer with cough syrup and patchouli. A single spray is all you need here gents. Seriously. I wouldn’t put this in the same category as high end musks but perfectly pleasant and very masculine scent for a guy that can pull it off. It’s on the stronger side, even for a cheap buy. It’s not very complex either…. Just a straight shooting, hair on your chest kind of frag. Probably not great for guys under 30. Used sparingly, it is still hit or miss if folks will like it. Men seem to like it. More mature women who like a burly older guy seem to like too. Younger folks will think you smell old. It is what it is. Overall, I prefer it to the original one man show. This is not something I wear often. When I do, I feel like Ron Burgundy wearing sex panther. You just need to own it and stay classy.
One of the best cheaper scents for under $25. It can get some used to for some people. If you are used to Chanel or Jean Paul Gaultier then this is very animalistic for you. Particularly the initial blast. This layers well with Bentley For Men Absolute. Mixing those together is nice. This does wear fairly light on my skin .I seem to soak up alot of strong scents. Like Amouage Royal Tobacco, Tabu, Black Orchid etc. The drydown is really well done. I guarantee this has synthetic Oud in it. I wonder if there is a niche version of this that uses real Oud? What could you do with the same notes, but better quality ingredients? Hear that Liz Moores of Papillon? If someone wanted a cheapie but an Oud and Leather beast then I suggest this one.
I have a friend at work who I knew this would suit. He trusted me to blind buy it and it ended up being a winner. This is best suited for a mature guy I'd say in the 40+ range that would be comfortable in a cigar lounge or upscale pool hall. It's strong and smooth and the bottle matches the smell. A little spicy, leathery, very reminiscent of nag champa incense. A steal for the price.
This is some awesome stuff right here. Take the original DNA of One Man Show and add a huge dollop of leather and synthetic oud (obviously, they're not using real oud in a fragrance that can be had for <$20). This adds some extra dirtiness and smokiness to the One Man Show line. The original One Man Show is a super green fragrance with cinnamon, herbs, and leather from the castoreum playing a supporting role. You can definitely smell modern One Man Show in the opening. But there's so much dirtiness from the leather and oud. The leather had been emphasized to be the primary note, along with smoke. It's like someone mixed modern One Man Show and Dior Leather Oud. It's obviously a little challenging, so I don't blame others for thinking it smells like bug spray. But I think it smells amazing. Most fragrances use synthetic oud anyway, and they'll charge a couple hundred bucks for it. If you like oud the way it is done in most designer fragrances, this is a bargain at 20 bucks.
Smells Alike section is often way off but in this case it's correct with Oud Touch smelling like this. Something about fake oud notes that is just so chemical to me. Smells like someone tossed sprayed dog shit with an insect repellent.
One Man Show Oud Edition opens kinda funky - not a very pleasant scent. That phase doesn't last long with the oud accord becoming more and more prominent in the following 25 minutes or so. The leather accord is below the oud and provides a supporting role but doesn't overwhelm the oud. Longevity is good - I got about 8 to 9 hours out of it before it was a very subtle skin scent. Projection was more average after the first hour or so. I purchased this bottle early last year and found at that time that it was quite screechy and synthetic smelling. The bottle has been sitting for almost a year and this time it seems to have mellowed out and become smoother. At $16, One Man Show Oud is a real bargain. It's obvious the oud is synthetic but it provides a basic oud accord without any barnyard or cheesy stink opening. Nevertheless, it still fits the One Man Show approach in that it's a bold and brash masculine scent. For something similar but somewhat smoother, although at a higher price, try 1 Million Golden Oud. Both of them provide a strong oud accord unlike the current Polo and Gucci offerings which are pretty weak.
If you want to smell like macadam, hot tar, diesel fuel and last night's campfire, by all means spray away. But Lordie, keep yourself away from me, preferably on the other side of them there hills! One spray could kill a bull moose. Ghastly stuff.
I like it a lot! I see some folks on here saying One Man Show Oud Edition is "Repugnant, Anamalic, Old Man-ish" and yes, I agree this is for a more "mature" guy (maybe even a woman), but its most definately NOT old man-ish! Lmao! Now, there is a slight "powdery anamalic funk" in the opening, but that settles down after maybe 20 - 30 minutes and what you're left with is a fresh/spicey, woody, pleasant, slightly powdery western-oud with touches of the original One Man Show's mouth-watering spices which are just freakin' beautiful! I haven't given this a full wearing so I cant really comment on the performance, but I keep sniffing where I sprayed my arm and it smells really nice,! This hits WAY above its $18 price-point, and the Bogart house just keeps impressing me with banger after banger. So far I have Bogart pour Homme, One Man Show and now One Man Show Oud edition. All smell fantastic, and I honestly don't get how they're offering this type of quality for these CRA-CRA prices!? 8 outta 10 fragrance imo, and for the price... total No-Brainer!! And btw, If ya don't like Oud Fragrances, then ya wont like a fragrance with "Oud Edition" in the name! Lol! ...Food for thought! Thanks to whomever took time to read my 2 cents on One Man Show Oud Edition🫠
I had a weird experience with the Oud edition of One Man Show. My first bottle that I bought around I want to say ~2019 was pure magic. The woody notes and spices together with the faint hint of a leather really smelled good to me. So much so that once I ran through this one, I went and straight up bought another bottle. The 2nd one though was pure disappointment. The oud here smells almost fecal, borderline unwearable. Either they reformulated the fragrance, or I got a historically bad batch, but my 2nd time around with it was very bad. Not recommended.
This can be worn in hot weather, but in the cold is where it really shines. In the cold, One Man Show Oud Edition smells warm, cozy, and inviting with somewhat of an alcoholic vibe somewhere in the mix. That is not to say this smells alcoholic though. The scent profile of this is more dark and serious rather than light and playful, and that is noteworthy for this cologne particularly because this is one of those colognes where the demeanor of the wearer will either make or break the fragrance. Concerning performance, the wearer will go nose-blind to this relatively quickly but in actuality it stays on at least 8 hours, and the price is not bad either. One Man Show Oud Edition is definitely worth being given a try, especially for the upcoming Winter months.
Can't be beat for the price but on warmer fall/winter days I brighten up this Bogart's denseness with a layer of Avon's Tribute. The resulting smoky lavender works well.
