Probably my all time favorite fragrance, I MISS IT SO MUCH! Was my signature scent in the early 2000s when I was in high school, my father gave me a bottle as a gift and that basically introduced me to fragrances
Today I found out my father still have it. It's from 90s and still smelling nice. I was using that same EDT when I was 15-17, back then :))) unbelievable that he's still have that bottle. I think tomorrow he won't have it anymore :)))).
One of my firsts and favs. Elegant as ever. If you’ve run out, try Jimmy Choo Blue.
Can be quite synthetic on the opening however does change into a very nice fresh blue style sent, reminds me of Cool Waters a bit. Released in 1992 so could be a dated profile for some, if you have a bottle tho it’s worth a pretty penny as of 2025
I have a guy that is selling 12ml pure oils of JOOP! Nightflight. Legit 1 to 1 identical. Staying away from the 300 dollar price tag on ebay and just paying 15 dollars for these oils.
Joop! Nightflight was the first fragrance that truly captivated me when I encountered it at the age of 16 in 1995. At that time, I had barely explored the world of perfumery, relying mostly on a few deodorants and aftershaves. But Nightflight instantly drew me in, sparking my interest in fragrances in a way that nothing else had before. The opening of Nightflight is striking—it's almost like jump into the cool night sea. The first impression isn’t the typical sharp citrus, but rather a fresh breeze laced with juniper, complemented by the soft touch of lavender. Pineapple subtly threads its way through the composition, adding complexity and depth to the scent. For some, the fragrance might seem synthetic, but I find that quality to be part of its charm—it creates an intriguing, almost mysterious aura. While some critics argue that the scent is too linear, I appreciate how it remains consistent throughout. There are no dramatic or unexpected twists, but rather a steady reveal of the night’s secrets in delicate, cool nuances. It doesn’t overwhelm, but instead provides a calming and steady presence that changes only subtly as time passes. Back then, Nightflight, alongside scents like Kenzo Pour Homme, offered me in 1995 a break from the mass-market options like CK One, which represented youthful freshness but also became ubiquitous. Nightflight felt like a more sophisticated, artistic choice—something that set you apart from the crowd. It wasn’t just a fragrance; it was a statement, a way to express individuality.
I got a 75ml about 98% full didn't realise it goes for so much lol
I have 3.4oz bottle about 60% full. I was using it as a room spray not realizing it now goes for $300+ on ebay. I'm either going to sell it or trade it for something I like of equal value. HMU.
it gives a good pineapple citrusy green mix, but it doesn't perform well, it smells a little childish in general, there's so many fresh fruity fragnances that performs better than this one.. its a good fragrance for teenagers (-20) who go to school and wanna smell clean and fresh
Looking for information on this the best smell in the world to me led me here. Desolate it is now far too costly for anyone with Scots ancestors to now consider. Clean and fresh with warm spice underneath adored at first sniff and just fell more and more for it can not think of anyone at any time anywhere this would not suit. Thanks to posters suggesting similar and to think bought just one (ebay) $60 AUD 2008 regret mistake of not getting more. Joop if you are reading please bring back.
Just smell montblanc legend blue it smells very similar to joop nightflight
I've tried nearly every dna known to the fragrance kingdom. Although a 1992 release - i legit get a trifecta of Davidoff Cool Water, A&F Fierce, and Guerlain L'homme Ideal in this! Its a blind buy so no memories associated to it to - just my nerdy collector nose. 2 dnas that came out nearly a decade or two later yet I smell all 3 vividly in this. Its lovely. You're welcome. Edit: Omg! This is Kiton for men clone!!! Well technically Kiton for men is a clone of this.
Bought this blind and cannot say i'm disappointed. Purchased for around 25 pounds few years ago and the fragrance has remained exactly the same. It can rival some of the other aquatic perfumes and longevity is not bad. Worth a go!
My signature scent - the Créme de la Créme of fougère fragrances for me, this is absolutely magnificent on my skin. I just adore the way the citrus and pineapple blend seamlessly with the lavender in the head, then join smoothly with the geranium and rosewood in the heart, to finish by combining with the tonka bean, sandalwood and almond in the drydown. A beguiling, masculine, and extremely tasteful and masterful creation from German luxe house Joop, this fragrance is a beautiful statement of all things exquisite and nostalgic for me. I truly, truly love this scent. It is fresh and dark midnight blue just like the marketing, with a timeless, clean, citrusy, angular presence that speaks modestly of expensive luxury and modernity. There is a luxe serenity that fosters the image of very still water reflecting the evening stars on a warm Summer twilight. I cane across this fragrance in high school, and it has gorgeous memories for me of my long term girlfriend in the Springtime. Times of attending her lacrosse games at posh schools standing on the side of the green in the soft rainfall with my umbrella... Late nights of cinema and being with her. I am deeply saddened that Joop discontinued this fragrance - one may still find it online, but the scarcity has driven the price up to near $400.00 for a 4.2 oz flask which is rather ludicrous, but everybody wants to make a buck. So, I keep this filed away in the recesses of my heart where the candlelit Spring nights reside in fragrant chokecherry and crabapple blossoms and dream….
Just got a vintage Lancaster bottle for cheap and wow! Pierre Bourdon's impact on men's fragrances is epic. Here's another relatively unknown beauty. And it will stay unknown, sadly. Opens with a mix of fruity citruses and quickly evolves into a creamy/powdery mix of lavender, almonds and musky tonka. I don't get the original Joop! in this, but strangely enough, Montblanc Individuel comes to mind. Totally different scent but there's one note that connects them to me. Which isn't too strange because even though that came a decade later, it came from the same nose. I'm going to look for more of these and pounce.
This was my signature back in the 90's. Don't know why they would discontinue it
If anybody in Canada is looking for this let me know. I have a 75mls bottle, 99% full. I have the box too. Message me if interested, willing to ship to the states too but at buyers cost.
This is the first perfume that taught me a woman can smell perfume from far away. I was sitting in Bur Juman Mall Dubai and a nice looking South Indian girl made eye contact with me from quite a distance. I can't remember if it was before or after at least 5 Arab girls said hi to me in unison in Skyline College Sharjah. Amazing citrus/pineapple note.
I bought a bottle in '97... It was gorgeous. Jasmine and almond.
I tried layering Nightflight with Invictus Victory (one spray on IV first, then two sprays of Nighflight on top - on the chest). I have to say, it turned out pretty amazing.
Well, it certainly planted the seed for those frags, but unfortunately is discontinued and very expensive if you can find it. A&F Fierce is pretty close to the scent profile, but weaker. I have yet to put my nose on the other frags mentioned.
I scrolled down and saw a guy commenting in 2013 how similar this is to mont blanc, and abercrombie and I havent smelled nightflight in about 10 years npw, and the other day i bought a bottle of percival from parfums de marley, and the first thing that popped into my mind was "this smells just like nightflight, just better quality". And that fragrance is compared to the others i mentioned all the time.
How I miss this beauty.😟😔 High school nostalgia gone missing since discontinued 😟😔
It has these '90s vibes, it really does. I don't know what it is, but it is there. and it is different, than a typical freshy. The mix of notes creates a masculine aromatic accord, that is reminiscent of lime/bergamot/grapefruit, slightly bitter, just as grapefruits are. with a bit of sweetness. One of the listed notes is wrongly spelt. "Woodfuff" is wrong. Woodruff would be right.
This discontinued gem has a brilliant dry down. The rosewood, sandalwood, almond and tonka combo is divine. The opening can be a little harsh, but not much. Overal it reminds me a bit of another discontinued fantastic fragrance - Chopards Heaven.
Owned a bottle of this in the late Noughties. It was loud and very very sharp smelling - juniper, lime and all those other citrus notes..... packed a bit of a punch certainly. I imagine if I were to smell it again it would probably show its age somewhat, a scent from a period in time where your cheaper more mainstream fragrances were stronger, probably due to slightly less red tape being around when it came to ingredients and composition of perfumes. Wouldn't pay the excess to re-visit but if it popped up somewhere for 20-30 quid I'd pick one up for old times' sake
I got similarities to Lacoste booster on this one however this stands out because of the tinge of sweetness and it’s smoother and more aromatic. Smell is Still relevant today in my opinion. A wonderful one by Joop.
Blind bought a 75 mls bottle of this online for 140 cad. Not a fan at all 🤦♂️ all I can smell is an overwhelming Lavender note and I can't get past it. Anyone based in Canada interested pm me. It comes with the original box.
I think that Joop! Jump is one of the safest bets for a dumb reach frag EVER. I love it! However with Nightflight I was disappointed. Very, very generic, very synthetic to my nose. It's almost like it doesn't know what it wants to smell like. Total lack of identity. Please try before you buy it and decide for yourselves.
I only have some vintage batches with the silver cap and two dupes, but not the reformulated versions of the original. Here is a comparison of them. - Joop Nightflight Vintage Silver Cap - Chatler Jurp Blue Men - J92 Nightfight Joop Nightflight Vintage Silver Cap This was my first fresh fragrance in the 90s and I wore it almost every day for some years in the summer time. It's a fresh, bright and intensive scent with a very good sillage in the first few hours and the longevity is also good, but not "hardcore beast mode". Today it's heavy overpriced, especially the reformulated versions are way to expensive, therefore I didn't bought them. For that price you can buy the vintage version! Chatler Jurp Blue Men First, thank you MrJayes for your recommendation here! Jurp Blue Men is very cheap, I got two 100 ml bottles for nearly 17 Euro and for that price it is definitely good! It is not as intensive as the vintage version in the beginning, but after some minutes it smells very similar. The performance is weaker, but for that price still good. In my opinion this is a good dupe and absolutely worth it! J92 Nightfight Sorry, but for me this is not a good Joop Nightflight dupe. It has similarities, but there's constantly a very prominent strange note, which is not find in the original nor in the Chatler dupe. It's more intense, than the Chatler Dupe, but that note is unbearable. In my opinion they should rework it! It's also not cheap, you pay 4,99 Euro for a 3ml sample (+ 4,90 Euro delivery!), 39,90 Euro for the 50ml and 75,90 Euro for the 100 ml. There are also pure oil versions and a cologne version available.
