A really masterful concoction of patchouli and vanilla. LOVE 10/10

I was almost shocked when I bought and tested this perfume for a few days. The shock was that it turned out to be an “OK” perfume - nothing special, despite all the hype surrounding it. It doesn’t really evolve on my skin or clothes, and it isn’t a particularly strong perfume. It is simply “OK” in every aspect. It is somewhat similar to Patchouli Nosy Be by Perris Monte Carlo and Pardon, but in my opinion, it is far inferior to both. It has a minimalist, modern style, which I can appreciate, but I would not suggest a blind buy. The reason is that the narrative surrounding this perfume in the fragrance community, at least in my case, was not grounded in my actual experience of the scent. There was a significant gap between the way people describe and hype this perfume and what I actually experienced when I wore it.

Strong , long lasting fragrance. It is a kind of fragrance which smell dry and little difficult to tolerate. its dry down is similar to polo green dry down minus greenness.

Love at first sniff for me because it smells just like my favorite beer of all time (of all things) - Omnipollo Gimbagagompa imperial stout; sadly discontinued and sorely missed, like so many good things in life. That smell of coffee, oat granola and dark chocolate - I just love it! So glad to have this as a throwback to that incredible beer and all the wonderful memories that came with it. If you enjoy Mugler A*men, then there's a good chance you'll enjoy this to :)

sauerkraut gnocchi, white chocolate on a buttery vanilla cocoa cookie, with something minty filling. you have to build a relationship with it, otherwise you won't like it. but it's a quite wearable and quality fragrance

This along with Incident Diplomatique was gifted to me by a friend, both full 100mls and I just realized that I’m a huge Patchouli Lover. Psychedelique to me and on my skin is this beautiful earthy, sweet, kinda chocolatey, warm, spicy, woody with a touch of citrus that gives it a little bright feel to it. Definitely not blind buy safe and not for everyone. When I first got it I’m not gonna lie, at first I was like HELL NAH but after letting it sit and smelling it here and there it started to grow on me and I love it. Very unique and different but sexy, elegant with this rugged bad boy/bad girl feel if that makes sense lol Damn this is good!! Performance on my skin is amazing!! @80s Joe - Your review is absurd. It's one thing not to like the scent, but you're being extremely overdramatic and mischaracterized the perfume entirely. How old are you, 12?

Exactly as 'greensandgourmands' mentioned three comments below, the opening is a wonderful strong earthy patchouli. The huge issue is that it goes away after an hour or two and then it just becomes a very sweet and slightly boozy heavy vanilla amber. What a shame, as a huge patchouli head, this one has a lot of hype around it. Some people consider it the go-to patchouli for patchouli lovers, and at first that's arguably true, but it's a real shame that the strong patchouli goes away to a generic sweet vanilla. Sigh. Something similar happens with Coromandel (in its own way) but at least it retains some of the eathiness. This one doesn't. The new 75ml bottle is gorgeous, at least - the only reason why I'm keeping my bottle, for now.

This perfume opens up with a beautiful, strong patchouli that I really wish would last longer. It quickly dries to a sweeter vanilla base with little of the earthiness promised in the opening. It reminds me of Lord of Misrule by Lush, just without the kick of the pepper. To me this is a true unisex. Despite my slight criticism, I've tried a bunch of other choco-patchoulis and amber patchoulis and this one is THE fragrance of the category.

This fragrance here along with Profumum Patchouly are signature scents of mine & have been repeat purchases out of close to 300 fragrances..Can’t too much more be said than that

Smells like a stronger and dirtier Givenchy Gentleman (1974) without the tobacco note. Dries down to a really nice balsamic patchouli. Love this!

I got a sample of this because The Perfume Guy kept hyping it up on his channel. I don't understand why a few niche fragrances try to get away with smelling like either fresh, raw ass or actual poop for about 20 minutes. This one is the former. Then after that finally abates, what is left is this - there is a very medicinal smelling salve that has been applied generously to a large fresh wound that has both puss and blood, with wet bandages over the entire thing. Sorry guys, got to keep it real - do not blind buy this one.

I love Psychedelique for its scent story! The first spray is dark, damp patchouli and woods. Then it becomes a delicious vanilla-amber, settling into a chamomile tea vibe as the florals peak through. Truly the best patchouli fragrance ever!

Take this for what it’s worth (which is probably not much), but I don’t know if I love this fragrance or hate it. The opening - not a fan. The dry down - a fan. The opening is super patchouli/chocolate. The dry down is more powdery and musky.

This and Incident Diplomatique had been on the radar since I first started building a wardrobe. In no rush I figured I'd get around to them when I get around to them. To my surprise, I received a sample of this with another purchase and I was thoroughly impressed with it to say the least. I enjoy Tempo by Diptyque, it’s a fine patchouli fragrance by any standard. But something about Psychedelique makes me want to keep smelling it. Tempo was similar in that regard too, in that I never got tired of smelling it, but Psychedelique is straight up olfactory dope. Pun intended. Dark, damp, earthy, ever so slightly floral, smooth, chocolatey patchouli with an air of mystery and sophistication blended to perfection. This fragrance was paradigm shifting for me. I feel that it is to the patchouli category, what Sultan Vetiver is to vetiver category (speaking from my personal taste of course). Having it makes my wardrobe feel a sense of completion and its honestly revealed superfluity. When I smell(ed) it, something in me says ahh this is the kind of fragrance I was looking for. And that since adding it to the scent arsenal, if I stopped here, trimmed that which is excessive, I'd be good. Nothing about this feels "dated" to me. Then again one of my top favorites is Polo Green. This is overall one of the best fragrances I've ever smelled. I find no faults. Its an easy 10 for me.

Nose Note #891 I will say that I appreciate it, but I don't like this chocolate patchouli smell. If you are familiar with Nasomatto Pardon then you have a very good understanding of what this smells like. Very very similar to Pardon, but Pardon has this typical Gualtieri quality of it being alienating, not really designed to be worn often or even at all. Psych is more palatable, it's less cold and a bit less chocolate. And it's definately not as strong, which also makes it easier to wear. Psych has a damn basement quality, but not too realistic. It's chocolatey, but it's only mildly sweet. All in all I think it's a fragrance for fans and connoisseurs, this is more to be admired than to be worn daily. This is not a compliment getter by any stretch of imagination. This is pleasant, sure + it's strong which also gives it credit. But it's objectively won't fit the majority of people. Definately try before you buy. I guess most of the higher votes come from the people that know that this one is a staple in a fragrance community and so on. I'm a big fragrance head myself, but I don't enjoy this much. 7.5/10, out of respect 6/10, what I really feel

I didn’t know I liked patchouli until I tried this. Got Damn !! This stuff has some depth and will out project most niche scents.This fragrance has some gigantic presence.

dirt and chocolate batter - not a fan

Psychedelique - Cool name for a cool fragrance.... This is a PATCHOULI ORGY.... Earthy, petrichor-like, I could wear this day or night, any day of of the year but summer, ..... I don't know why it feels to me like a Sunday fragrance... Not like an office thing

I can't decide whether I love this or Horizon more. They're not the same, but they're both incredible. This one is more floral and perfumey, whereas Horizon is more gourmand-leaning (although not a gourmand). They both shit all over Coromandel.

This is not the patchouli scent that reviews made it out to be. Ill always have a soft spot in my heart for patchouli after seeing Jerry Garcia for so many years. Its a faint reminder of the jams and the hot women with dreads. This however is not it and I am now convinced that the natural oil is the only one that would take me back. This however is my favorite patchouli fragrance. Sure it has that earthy patchouli feel that I am looking for, but its a modern take on it. Its blended to perfection with the amber and vanilla and I perceive it as quite powdery. The performance is outstanding as well! The projection is perfect with 2 sprays and it just creeps outside the scent bubble. Patchouli is a polarizing scent and I don't wish to fill rooms with it. 8.5/10 and full bottle worthy.

First patchouli scent - smells really damn good. Very warm damp soil dark earthy smell. It's very comforting and pleasant. Think this would be a good rainy day scent.

Paculi, paculi, paculi, hlina, paculi, paculi…. Nuda

Sexy, warm, inviting, intriguing, fascinating, dark, sultry - agreed! Also BOOZY as hell (but wearable) - gimme my rhum with the plum, as this is first thing i can sense, then dark hot chocolate. No citruses, no rose, no geranium. I like a lot! I will be back!

Psychedelique opens in a way I genuinely dislike. The citrusy top feels abrasive and immediately fatiguing, to the point where even thinking about it triggers discomfort. It is an opening I tolerate, not enjoy, and it nearly prevents me from wearing the fragrance at all. The drydown changes everything. Once the opening fades, the composition settles into a dark patchouli that feels distinctly gentlemanly. Cocoa and Amber deepen the structure, giving it weight and seriousness. With time and maceration, the longevity becomes excellent, lingering with quiet confidence. This is not a refined patchouli. There is an earthy undertone that occasionally veers into a damp and musty facet. While noticeable, it never becomes offensive. Instead, it contributes a sense of rawness that feels deliberate. Psychedelique is not my first reach. I generally favor other patchouli-focused fragrances that speak more clearly to my taste. Still, there are moments when this specific mood calls, and when it does, I find myself enjoying it on its own terms. This is a challenging scent. Not universally appealing, but far from bad. It asks for patience, timing, and the willingness to accept its rough edges.

The king of Patchoulis, I find it has a strong accord of damp soil, not in a nasty way just a rich earthy sense. If you enjoy patchouli I definetely recommend trying a sample.
