This reminds me white cotton wool. In a good soft smooth way.

Not A Perfume smells somehow both sterile and warm, like a doctor who has spritzed a faint vanilla perfume on her wrists then spent the entire day working in a hospital--how she'd smell coming home from work if you got up real close. There is something about this, too, that is sort of milky without an edible, food-like scent. It does not project at all, but it stays on the skin, close to the pulse, for a long time. I really like it. It's interesting while being very understated. I would never spend over two hundred Australian dollars on a bottle, but if someone gave me one, I'd happily spritz and enjoy.

Smells like literally nothing.

I got this in a set with banana rush, compared to banana rush, it is nothing to me, although I do love it there is nothing to write home about. A very simple, clean scent for when you just want your skin, but better. I could also see this as a good layering piece for the day to day.

On my skin this smells like chlorine. Like it’s name suggests, to me this is not a perfume at all.

A very simple and minimal fragrance. It is the quintessential clean fragrance for any collection if you want something that's not just the smell of clean laundry or floral. The only thing holding it back is that some people are anatomically incapable of smelling it, and it reacts extremely differently based on your skin chemistry, so find a retailer near you that has a tester and test it on skin. This a fragrance that should also never be tested on paper. Get it on your skin, see how it reacts and smells, and see if it is right for you. I absolutely love this one and have it in my collection as something I can throw on when I want to smell good but don't want to be overwhelming, or if I want to add a nice supporting layer to my fragrance of the day.

Having read a few reviews, it seems this perfume reacts and smells differently on everyone. I sprayed this on slightly sweaty hands after my walking session. The projection got stronger as if my body heat fueled its performance. On my skin, it smelled somewhat like Musc Rijali + Orange. Very classy and sexy, and it lasted for quite a good time. Will definitely give it a try.

что то анималистичное, мускусное, приглушенное, немного пластиковое и кожаное, не сладкое. напоминает детский сад и полуденный ужас

Not a Perfume is Not a Safe Blind Buy. It is a chemistry experiment. It is a molecule uniquely binding itself to you, a symbiotic relationship which smells different on each host. On me personally, this is my skin on fire. It is wet heat, a warm pulse, steam hanging heavily in the air after a hot shower. It is a uniquely warm and sterile scent that pulls plastic notes when on my skin. It is chemically clean.

I’ve worn a lot of so-called “skin scents” and Ambroxan-heavy fragrances and most of them eventually blur together. Not a Perfume is one of the few that still stands out for me. On first spray it’s quiet and clean, but within minutes something warmer and more personal emerges. There’s a soft sweetness and a faint, almost salty skin-like quality that reminds me of the pleasant scent left on your body after a fresh workout—clean, a little flushed, quietly attractive. It’s not dirty or overtly animalic; it’s just that particular kind of lived-in warmth that feels intimate rather than polished. Officially the fragrance is built around a single molecule, Cetalox. I’ve tried plenty of other Ambroxan-focused scents (Molecule 02, Glossier You, Le Labo Another 13, Clean Reserve Skin, and a few others), and while they share a similar clean-woody-musky DNA, none of them quite capture that same sweet, slightly sweaty skin effect that Not a Perfume has on me. Whether it’s the specific quality of the material, the concentration, or simply the way it reacts with my chemistry, the result feels more dimensional and human than most of its peers. It sits close to the skin with moderate longevity and projects just enough to be noticed by those nearby. I reach for it when I want something that feels like an enhanced version of myself rather than a statement. It’s become one of those bottles I quietly hope never gets discontinued.

Very similar to those Escentric Molecules-style perfumes, with Iso E Super and sheer woody tones taking the lead. I’m afraid I’m not a fan. It has that abstract, transparent, woody-mineral effect that many people love, but on me it feels a little too familiar and not particularly compelling.

At first i could not smell it at all, after half an hour I started smelling 100% Dior Bois d’Argent. I don’t know if it’s my skin or they are really similar. Anyways, I would buy the Dior one for a better performance, also because my boyfriend could smell exactly the same scent as me, and this made me think that my opinion is not related to the molecular aspect of the fragrance.

I think this is really lovely. Smells very warm and sweet on me, especially after moisturizing !

I hoped for the fresh, clean skin note but got big, sharp musk. My body chemistry doesn't work with some base notes.

There’s something about my chemistry because it just smells like I took ashes, blew them off of me, and then washed them off with water. And then whatever is left is the smell. — I actually hated this perfume. Makes me gag when I smell it. It is truly nauseating

it is indeed a skin scent but it's long lasting. The sprayer is great I layered it Le Jardin de Monsieur Li by Hermes

I find it fascinating that to some, like myself, these aroma chemical fragrances smell nothing, and others can smell them. I got this in a scent bird advent calendar otherwise I probably wouldn't have bothered trying this as I couldn't smell the last aroma chemical fragrances I tried. Like the last one, this came off very strongly of alcohol when I first sprayed then faded into nothing. I did start smelling a faint musky woody after several minutes. And when I say faint, I mean very, very, faint. I don't mind your skin but better fragrances but I wear fragrances so I can enjoy them, and I can't do that if I can't smell them. The very faint smell I could detect was pleasant and very unisex. Definitely a fragrance that should be tested first since not everyone can smell it and it can vary wildly based on PH. Over its a pass from me.

Smells like lemon and fresh cut lumber

I wish this scent did something for me but it really smells like nothing! However, I have found it useful for layering with other fragrance as it adds a new dimension to old staples.

I love this perfume so much. I love one of the comments below saying it smells like tv static, I totally get it. To me, it smells like if the scent of paper were made into a cologne. It’s not light like a perfume, in my personal opinion. It’s definitely unisex, but I’d say it leans more serious/masculine. I love the scent for men, it’s like the freshest, most subtle but still there cologne. I like it on myself too, for any occasion.

No no I don’t really agree with the review below me absolutely no pink pepper whatsoever this is not a glossier you Right from the bottle i get powdery dry skin like a dry hand But when i spray it its a really grey type of smell like imagine how the color grey or walls painted with off-white would smell like U really need to do a skin test on this one Its freaking long lasting but its a bit too grey or like wall paint I don’t reach for these scents usually And I don’t want to smell like that its not me but its a great simple scent

Pencil shavings, pink pepper, dry spice. I’ll just run through the nearest spice packing factory slathered in plain body oil to get the same effect.

Was very excited to try this after hearing how differently it reacts with everyone’s skin chemistry, and having tried and enjoyed a lot of perfumes that feature an ambergris note or ambroxan, figured it could work on me. Boy was I wrong. When I sprayed this on my wrist I was immediately hit with a stench of manure- full on cow pasture. I like musky and even slightly animatic scents but this opening was simply too much… I am shocked to see it described as a “clean” scent when it makes me smell like I haven’t showered (and I take hygiene very seriously, showering and washing my hair ATLEAST once a day) Once it dried down it became more bearable but had a weird funk to it. I believe fragrances have no gender but on me this pulled fully masculine in a sweaty gym bro way. I wonder if cetalox is very different to other types of ambroxan? Because i adore ambroxan in some other perfumes

I was very pleasantly surprised by this wonderful scent: it smells sooooo amazing on my skin! Definitely get the woody from it (I'm an Oriental Woody girly) mixed with very subtle floral and just smidgen of powder (which I adore). It smells fresh, clean, feminine, a little sweet, and mysteriously deep on me if that makes sense - and because of this - I'm buying a bottle of Not a Perfume Superdose. lol :D

Ooof this was not great on my skin. It's interesting to see some people say that it was weak or intimate because it was STRONG on me and lasted for a good 24 hours. Of course it weakened over time, but I put it on mid-day and was still smelling it when I woke up the next morning. The smell only fully came off after a shower. The only real way I can describe it is perfume-y. The closest descriptor I have for it is that it is a powdery musk, but even that doesn't quite fit. There was a hint of old lady perfume smell, but that doesn't bother me usually. I actually would have enjoyed it more if it didn't last so long and was more intimate on me. I cannot emphasize enough HOW strong this was. It was almost headache-inducing. If anything, it makes me appreciate perfumery because it shows how impactful individual body chemistry is. Not for me, maybe for you.

i like this! its alright. it's far too light and intimate to be something i truly love, and thats okay, its clearly not made for my tastes. this is something I will wear for my husband who doesn't appreciate bold scents. I think if I were to get myself a full bottle I would layer this with white musk, or something soapy for a clean scent. I bet this would be great sprayed in my hair if it wasn't so expensive. reading about the composition of the perfume, the single molecule, was more interesting than the actual olfactory experience. not for me!

What an odd fragrance, to me and my partner this smelt like TV static... a weird metally chemical scent which lasted all of 5 minutes then we couldn't smell anything at all

This is my second review of this non perfume. In my first review i mentioned how i cant smell this. skip to a few months later....I have figured out that it works best for layering- for me- it could be different for you. its like a fragrance perfector and extender. it rounds out the sharp screechy notes of so many fragrances that i cant tolerate and it extends wear by a significant number of hours. I am now getting compliments on perfumes from bottles that i have been using for years- the only change is that i have layered it with this. Im enjoying my favourites a lot more because I can smell myself throughout the day. So yes, I barely smell not a perfume on its own, but its working its magic on my skin with my favourites and it will remain a staple in my wardrobe for this reason.

Анонім★★★★★

this is the only perfume ever that i genuinely can't smell. might as well spray rubbing alcohol on myself

very intimate scent - giving clean and skin. Pleasing to wear occasionally
