Sensual. Soft. Dark. Sweet. Two test sprays on a warm night before bed and I was instantly transported to the Maldives, Bora Bora or another tropical island. I could vividly imagine a beautiful balmy night, full moon, warm sand beneath my feet, palm trees slightly swaying in the breeze, walking along the beach under a full moon. It’s beautifully tropical, with something deeply nostalgic for me woven through it. Pure bliss.
Huele igual que la línea capiliar Prodigeous Floral de NUXE.
Like a nice creamy floral bath & body works hand lotion.
When I bought this over a year ago most of the reviews were bad. Reviews claimed: Poor longevity, gross smell, etc. And I never left a review because I felt I had stumbled into a magical secret and I low key wanted to gate keep it. Because… my experience was way different from the majority of reviews. On me, this lasts and projects phenomenally well. It’s the closest thing to my life long favorite summer scent, Sand & Sable (recently discontinued for good) Smells like suntan oil from the 70s and 80s (my childhood). It’s true that if you smell too close it has a suffocating quality but this isn’t enough of a draw back to put me off. In the air it smells like the California summers of my youth. Delicious buttery coconut and gardenia. The vanilla to me is only a supporting role. I get loads of compliments. This is the only Kayali fragrance I enjoy.
I was suprised by this one. I'm always hesitant about coconut fragrances as I don't like when they are really sunscreen like. To me this was not like that. This was a light and airy while still being sweet, vanilla and coconut fragrance. I don't care for the salty marine air accord found in many beach type fragrances so I was happy to not have that here. Everytime I caught a sniff of this, I was reminded of walking along side a beach in Brasil ir PR drinking coconut water enjoying the sunshine and good weather. It wasn't overbearingly sweet like some other Kayali's can be, but there's definitely a sweetness to it. I wore it on warm day and it was fine, but I'm not sure it won't get cloying in hot and humid temps. The longevity was pretty good for Kayali. This isn't beast mode but projected for a few hours on me then turned into a skin scent that lasted my work day. I think it would need re-application if you're looking for 12+ hours or want projection all day but worked well for a workday. I'm not running out for a full bottle, but if I can catch it on sale or a partial from someone else at a good price point, I'd grab it.
The longevity on this was insane, especially at that price point. It smells like sweet vanilla on me and has lasted on my skin through the hot summer day and the night. It is pleasant and the sweetness isn't overbearing.
She is a summer girl with salty beach waves. Smells abit like sunscreen but in the best way possible. This is definitely a unique scent and something I will always keep in my collection for summer.
The vanilla, tuberose, and gardenia really shine in this one. There's something in here that smells like cheap shea butter cream that throws me off a little. It's not exactly bad, it's just a little unexpected. I won't be purchasing a big bottle of this.
Imagine a delicious sunscreen with everything but the sunscreen. I want to wear this while tanning through the day, and later have it waft towards my friends as we’re out on the beach while the night gets breezy. This one is yumalish. The tuberose makes it a clean fragrance while the vanilla bourbon base prevents it from being too soapy or boring. Not too sweet, and the coconut-floral balance is perfect. The silage is respectful. It won’t make your co-workers cough or turn heads, but it will make the person sitting next to miss you once you have walked away. Something to smell while thinking of your crush before brunch.
Reviewing a bottle purchased Fall of 2021. Let this one settle for about an hour to get beyond its initial semi-synthetic coconut top notes. While I do get a very distinct sweet coconut that could potentially lean more dessert, it stops just shy before fully committing. Quite a bit different from other Kayali fragrances. Many others from this house tend to be overly sweet, overly gourmand, overly decadent--things that I tend to avoid as they can be quite obnoxious to my nose. The first hour or so is quite "coconut lemon tart-bars", except these are the most luxurious coconut-bars you could find. A very prominent Madagascar vanilla bean extends throughout the entirety of wear. The lemon accord I am getting disintegrates quite rapidly and the white florals begin to really shine. Buttery, fragrant, almost delicious white florals.. not overly creamy but definitely a bit warm. Almost like taking a whole heap of jasmine and throwing it into some buttermilk (but in a really pleasant way?). I do get a bit of musk by the time the dry down has fully settled along with the warmth of slightly sweet sandalwood and an earthiness from the patchouli. Impressively complex. Get a lot of compliments whilst wearing Utopia! It does seem to be a crowd-pleaser, and it is something I reach for during the day more so than during the evening hours.. although I can see how these notes can be highlighted on warm summer nights.
Looking to sell my bottle. Few sprays missing, comes full presentation. Shipping from and to UK only.
A beautiful coconut milk scent. The florals work so well with the sweeter notes!! Absolutely love coconut + tuberose together. Sweet but still fresh. Easy to wear. A great summer day & evening perfume 🥥 🌸
Based on the notes, I thought I would love this perfume. I usually go for a sweet floral vanilla. This made me smell like an alcoholic grandma. I just get nauseating sweet booze and cheap floral perfume. There’s way too much going on that does not mix well for me
I mean it's fine as far as gourmands go. Very wearable, but not unique at all.
I surely invested quite some time and sentiment in Utopia 21. This is a white-floral-coconut combo, which also represents the “summer scent” genre marked often by a citrusy opening and lactonic accords that linger. Without the tangy, waxy ylang-ylang, it could have emanated the full profiles of tuberose, jasmine, and gardenia – all to be melded with the coconut in front and distilled into a true white “coco” elixir. The far-from-utopian reality is that there’re not enough ingredients to mellow the too green, acidic and – to some noses – slightly indolic white flower bombs. I admit patchouli never fares well in my book. Combined with wood and musk (prolly still have that highly concentrated ambrette going), the earthy notes that settle and last upon drydown regrettably spoil a creamy vanilla-coconut base. Based on its promotional visuals, I suspect Mona did NOT intend Utopia 21 to be a beachside, sunscreen perfume. It shares evanescent imagery with Déjà Vu 57 but is supposed to stand its ground as a more multifaceted floral gourmand. Reading through all the negative reviews, I can sort of see why 21 turns out mediocre – and maybe a bit obscure – to both white floral and gourmand buffs, who otherwise tend to have little preference in common.
A white floral bouquet drowning in a pool of sunscreen, and it eventually succumbs. Gone but never forgotten. 10/10 summer scent.
this is a mature floral vanilla, in that order. it's a nice scent for anyone looking for a non-sweet or gourmand vanilla. my coworker said I smell like shea butter when I was wearing it at the office and for some reason, it kind of does? maybe it's the coconut milk? i disagree with the majority opinion that this is a summer scent however, as it has a richness and density to it
This is heavy on the tuberose and the gardenia, it’s a very strong, dense white floral perfume reminiscent of Eden by cacherel. Unfortunately I don’t get any coconut or vanilla. I think if you like florals you will like this, it’s strong and quite long lasting 6/7 hours. I will let it sit for a bit and try it again but honestly if it stays like this I will resell as it’s not my thing. Longevity- 6/7 hours Projections- arms length Scent profile - 5/10 Purchase- would not repurchase
This is actually quite nice. It’s like if kayali 28 had personality and could lowk be worn on its own other than someone who’s not a stupid ‘clean’ girl or whatever
Easy reach and easy wear fragrance for spring and summer. I get a fresh watery coconut, not sunscreen-ish. It feels clean and is nice after a shower. This is one of the Kayali fragrances I think is underrated because it deviates from their typical sweet-like-sugar scents that they’re known for. It’s still sweet though. Kinda like if you walked past a blooming gardenia shrub after spilling coconut water all over a white linen blouse on a sunny windy day. It definitely feels a bit more grown up than some of their other fragrances. I really like this perfume because it does florals without being overly powdery or heavy. It still feels young and fresh without being juvenile. I may not repurchase this down the road but for someone who doesn’t LOVE florals, this is nice. 7/10
Smells like the old Ban De Soleil we used to burn on the beach in the 80s, the orange gel one. I love it.
This was so unpleasant to me. The coconut is not toasted or yummy. This coconut is freshly cracked open from a tree that’s been in the sun. A little musty. There is a ‘sunscreen’ element to it but not enough to mask the underlying funk.
I like it, nice milky floral, not too sweet; I layered it with Fashionably London - smells divine
i want to like this so badly, but for some reason it smells like sweet urine 😬 i always try to go back to it and i get the same result every time. it’s def strong and has projection but the smell is intolerable for me :(
One spritz and I feel like a teenager emptied a bucket of jasmine/gardenia laundry detergent directly into my mouth. It's overpoweringly floral and not much else.
@IBPC2000 you hate this but you have it as your favourite scent? Did you change your opinion?
i never expected myself to like a coconut, but this is so nice, very powdery and clean!
I’m working my way through the Kayali “layering” discovery set and this was on rotation for today. It’s a pleasant, albeit generic, scent. The top notes, including the coconut, are extremely fleeting and all I can detect are white florals (predominantly jasmine) and a touch of vanilla. Very reminiscent of Alien Hypersense and some of the Rabanne perfumes. Nothing original here.
compliment getter creamy white flower bomb
I come back here two years after and I still love this scent. I’m not a gourmand lover and this one is the exact amount of sweetness I can tolerate. It’s flowers wrapped in milky coconut with whiffs of vanilla. Simple but so pretty
