It is quite hard to find this fragrance, sadly. I first saw my mom using it. She told how she fell in love with it and how sad it is that Kenzo doesn't produce new bottles anymore. I think it is very close to perfect. Don't even know how to explain, it contains so many different feelings inside the bottle. it's like very fresh but in a sweet and floral way. It's naturalistic yet feels very expensive. It's very light and soft yet you can feel certain feminine seductiveness. Which is weird, because it's pyramid is pretty simple. May not be suitable for harsh winters, as it truly smells like a fresh green floral garden in the morning after the rain. But summer or spring, hold me tight. You know, it feels like an urbanistic-eco office siren from the future would wear it:) Durability: really good, despite it is so fresh and not heavy. Smells intence and really stays on you for hours.
Gorgeous green scent, great for spring summer
When I bought this, I was really hoping it would remind me of the older version of the fragrance I loved so much. That scent brings back a lot of memories for me, my mother used to wear it, and I absolutely adored it. Unfortunately, this one just isn’t the same. I was pretty disappointed. It comes off very sharp, overly alcoholic, and has a strong synthetic edge that I really don’t enjoy. It almost smells like one of those spray-can perfumes very intense and not smooth at all. Sadly, it just didn’t work for me.
This was a blind buy for me (risky, I know). When I first opened the package, I noticed the bottle, which was pretty, but it was a bit awkward to hold and spray with. The first sprays were too sharp and even gave me a 'glue-like' vibe. As it dried down on my skin, the more I liked it. It's fresh, green, and floral, dainty and feminine, very pretty! It stays in the air longer and lingers. Apparently, it was my mom's signature scent before I was born, I very *could* be biased LOL. Wouldn't recommend it for everyone or for a blind buy unless you're very sure what you want and like the notes. A very green and floral, nostalgic scent. May update later
I may have to use this with care to make its cleaner Lilly of the valley notes last but not blast the senses. Not sure what to think of this one it probably works better on fabric..trying it on my skin makes it evaporate fast and become shrill and harsh. Not love at first sniff. Green and fresh but becomes sharp quickly. It goes from....friendly grass scent with little white flowers......to a slap in the face by angry leaves. The dry down is where this starts becoming an overwhelming generic synthesis of harsh notes. Wish the Lilly of the valley would stay in the early stages and not melt into hot chemical wax.
I received this in the mail yesterday, and I immediately had to smell it. It is glorious! The lily-of-the-valley & hyacinth are magnificent. Just as I remember it when I first had it some odd 20+ years ago. I'm lucky, I guess, because my skin holds scent for a long time. It's going on 6 hours, and, while it isn't as strong as when I first sprayed it, it's still quite lovely and "green". This is definitely a daytime scent, perfect for this time of year.
Very soapy and sharp
This fragrance holds a strange appeal, reminding me of dew-laden, tender hyacinth blooms in early spring and real, delicate lily-of-the-valley in a green, green garden. It evokes idealized memories of a childhood that never was at an old-fashioned home I've never visited. Pretty. Poignant, but probably for personal reasons.
when i first sprayed, the greens were super overpowering - just getting drowned with synthetic green notes. as it dried on my skin, and the florals became more prevalent, it turned into an okay scent. probably won't wear it the most, but I'm not super offended by it. for being a parfum it lacks longevity in my opinion
this is such an amazing green scent !!! imo its one of the best green scents out there..........its soft, feminine & not harsh at all like some green scents.........its blended beautifully.........if ur a fan of green scents or lily of the valley u have to grab this (u can find it on discount sites for a great price )..........i also love the bottle - very fitting - a beautifully crafted glass leaf & the green scent color - it all just works together perfectly :) im in love :) green scents can be tricky but this one is a winner........it has some of my fav notes - lily of the valley & hyacinth ahhh plus im a fan of musk & sandalwood so it works for me :)
So, so lovely. The most beautiful unnatural dewy green. It's definitely synthetic, a kind of mild lotion/sunscreen angle, which I really like. Subtly sweet & indolic by way of florals. Clean sheer lime green watercolor. This fragrance lasts about 5-6 hours on me. Quite close to the skin, though carried easily by a breeze. Fem-androgynous. This is one of my all-time favorites, spring/summer perfection. I got a 1mL sample of this, Amour, & Flower on Ebay for 33.11 USD (kind of a ripoff now that I've purchased more fragrances lol)
It's beautiful, sparkling and very clean. True to a summer scent though, it ONLY comes to life on bare skin. She is completely dead on fabrics, don't spray onto your shirt. I love d'Ete already and can't wait to wear her when the weather permits bare skin again. Comparison for fellow lily-of-the-valley fanatics: I will stick to my dear Diorissimo in these cold months. Diorissimo and d'Ete share a similar cast of LOTV & green notes, but are easily different enough to enjoy both in a collection. Diorissimo = VERY strong, creamy, sparkly gold. The ylang ylang almost turns into a banana note in warm conditions. Marketed as a spring scent but ideal for any crisp weather. d'Ete = Greener, dewier, cool to the touch, sparkly silver. Polished chrome vibes if that makes sense. Great in any temperature but only radiates from skin.
Loooove this scent. Very comfortable and fresh. Reminds me of dewy flowers. I dont understand why everyone associates the LOTV note with older women, for me it gives youth and renewal. Good everyday work scent. Only downside is it only last 3 hours max, wish it lasted longer. Stays longer if applied to clothing but I'm not trying to dowse my clothes in scents. Just purchased my second bottle!
I like green florals and I like Antoine Lie. But I don't like this fragrance at all...3/10
Not anywhere near as good as the OG.
My mom had it and I started using it as a teen it smelled like a bouquet of jasmine yet not overwhelming at all , green , fresh and so feminine 🥰🥰🥰
This smells very synthetic to me, it actually reminds me of the scent of baby wipes. I would say that this is non offensive but quite boring, very much smells like mall perfume stores in the early 2000s. Meh
Oh how I love this scent. I wore this sooo long ago and just recently bought a bottle again off Amazon. I was worried it would be old but it was new so I guess it is not discontinued, just not sold around my area. It is fresh, green, and herbal. A tiny bit floral but really just stems more than floral. I love it. My signature is Prada Iris and this is such a nice summer version of that. Instead of the powder it has the herbal kick. LOVE.One more thing, ya gotta LOVE Jasmine for this baby.
This was a blind buy. And I don´t regret it buying it. Immediately I got a strong smell of lilly of white, which changed into hyacinth smell. I love it. At the end I got a gentle smell of musk. In one of the reviews somebody compared it to a morning walk in a meadow. And I completely agree. It is so refreshing. The only thing I am not a fan is the shape of the bottle which I had to put in a small box.
I'm in love with this scent. I bought this blind because I loved the bottle, but I was honestly scared of how it would smell on me. The moment I put it on, though, I knew my fears were unfounded. The perfume starts with lily notes, which could have been very sharp and cloying, but the green notes balances the scent out perfectly. Almost immediately after that, the hyacinth kicks in with the jasmine right on its heels to give further depth. Finally, the sandalwood and musk come in on the dry down, creating an overall impression of freshly cut grass on a rainy summer's day. This one is definitely going onto my signature scents list.
This is hands down the most indolic white floral scent I've owned. Reminds me of rotten flower stems that have been left in a vase for too long. Should haven't blind bought :(
I only smell lily of the valley, which I associate with elderly women for some reason. Dissapears quickly.
More of an airy green scent. Some fresh cut grass in there. I wore this years ago, and enjoyed - but I'd need to sniff again to have a more nuanced review. My only quibble was the leaf shaped bottle cap broke - and the bottle would flop over a bit, being an awkward shape. Still: really nice, fresh, green (very green) scent. Methinks I want to find this again...
Experience: This scent is airy to perfection! Fresh without being aquatic. Sweetness is just right (to my taste anyway). Soft and delicate without being a pushover because the coldness gives it an edge. Notes: Lily-of-the-valley and jasmine are the most prominent notes, lotv dominates in the opening and jasmine in the dry-down. Abstract, fresh greeness is also very noticeable all the way through. Oddly enough, the first stages are somewhat synthetic but in the most pleasant way. The base with clean musk and woods is somehow intoxicating to me. Performance: Sillage is moderate. Lasts max. 4 hours on my skin, which is the only minus for me.
Had a nice surprise today. I found it after many years thinking it was discontinued and, of course, bought it on the spot. It was one of my mum's favourites (she also used its predecessor: the one in the frosted bottle). It is exactly as I remembered it: A watercolour dewy garden that dries down to the most beautiful, soft and creamy jasmine. The smell transitions perfectly from a Spring morning to a Summer evening through its long life on skin. This discovery made me also a little sad, the artistry, tenderness and originality that Kenzo was famous for is long gone. One can only hope it comes back someday.
I have a hard time getting the LOTV in the opening notes. I love Lily of the Valley. I'm very familiar with that flower and love my bottle of Diorissimo. This opening note is pollenated powder to my nose. Maybe I'm really getting the hyacinth? Not sure, but I'm really not a fan of the first hour of this scent. It's way too heady for me. Hard to get past. I actually was relieved I had to put on my coat right after spraying it just to shield my face from the powder puff sneezy pollen blast. But then it calms down and that bothersome note takes more of a backseat, where I don't really mind it as much. (It never really goes away, but the faded version is so much nicer. And then it's summery, floral, green, and beautiful, but not really projecting much from the body. I'm torn. Definitely glad I only bought a travel spray to test it out. I'll try it out a few more times and give it away if I can't make it work.
Spring is calling as the previous winter is gliding away - I can feel the awakening nature in this leaf shaped glass. For me it’s an easy reach scent, a dewy, non-herbal green, slightly powdery with a realistic floral body, a truly green masterpiece. I feel like it has it’s place on my shelf forever, cause it’s so effortlessly beautiful and innocent. A little fleeting, so you need to reapply.
Very very strong lily-of-the-valley here. There's a bit of soapiness and a bit of greenness, but it mostly feels like LOTV soliflore.
I blind bought it for the beautifil leaf shaped bottle. At first, I didn't enjoy it vevy much, too ~watery floral(not in a sense of something watered down, but more like the smell of flowers in a river shore) for my taste. But then, I decided to try it again in warmer weather an I love it! It's an excellent non-citrus option for hot days! And it lasts on my skin. I'm glad I didn't give up on this beauty. Stay away if you don't enjoy lilly of the valley note, it's very prominent here.
At first it's very creamy, like a hand cream. Then is quickly settles at something exactly in between DKNY Pure and Versace pour Femme. So much so in fact that if you are looking for a version of this Versace that's similar but slightly less sweet you might want to try this one.
