Smells lika a carnival (?) Like when you smell the popcorn machine, the sweet candy and all the games the kids are playing, I didn't like it and it lasted on my wrist for two days 😭😭
This is just so pretty ~ long lasting soft vanilla rose with a suble salted caramel twist. I don't know why this got replaced with the peaches version ~ it's fine, but to me, this is much much better. This isn't a crazy unique frag but sometimes simple is preferable, an "easy reach" as they say. Purchased a backup at a great price.
Idole Nectar is a very sweet and objectively pretty rose fragrance, but it leans on the synthetic/flat side compared to other Lancome perfumes I own and love. I can't pick out the caramel, popcorn and vanilla notes, and they just read as a generic candy-like accord to my nose. I'll enjoy my decant, but I'm glad I only purchased a decant on sale.
Synthetic. Not even the rose feels natural. The scent is o.k but the performance is stellar. Solid 12 hours of little bubble in summer. That is an accomplishment. This pleases me greatly I like my scents to accompany me the whole day. I cannot say it changes its character with wear. It is linear but does not bore me. I quite like it. It is also universal occasion-wise and possibly also with regards to weather. The blend is so thorough I do not recognize the separate notes.
Beautiful, sweet gourmand rose. It manages to still smell sexy without being heavy or dated. Great sillage and staying power as well. I don’t smell popcorn (unlike the Dulzura/Cirque du Soleil DNA) so am grateful not to smell anything buttery.
smells divine. if you like rose that is also very gourmand - this is the fragrance for you 🌹🍮
I definitely wouldn’t have tried this out on my own accord, but my Ulta had a tester of this where there should’ve been a bottle of Idôle Now—strange since Nectar has been discontinued, but luckily the sticker on the bottom was still present for me to identify the real scent. I am not really a gourmand girly but I love rose, and I love this! Nectar reminds me of my first favorite perfumes, the Miss Diors and Parisienne of the mid-to-late 2000s, those scents I’d rip out of my Teen Vogue to rub on my skin before school since my mom wasn’t on board with buying me real perfume yet. Now nearing 30, I can see how this is supposed to be “young” but to me it’s so nostalgic and could work for anyone willing to sprinkle a little twee in their step. The snacky elements here—caramel, popcorn(!)—are blended in nicely and rose is center-stage. I use the Native Turkish Rosewater body soap which this reminds me of quite a bit. I’m excited to see if Nectar works across all seasons as I hope it will. 1-2 sprays will do it, more would be “too much of a good thing” in my opinion. Also, the reviewer below with the tip on smelling the popcorn note is spot-on.
I just love this so much. I hope you will as well. Its my favorite out of the flankers and although strong performance the scent trail is divinely beautiful feminine and unique. No need to overspray, my dear friend. If you feel beautiful the fragrance will enhance it! My only caveat, it is sweet, but not too much as long as you don’t overspray. Nectar really is a lovely fragrance.
I didn’t like it at first , but it grew on me after letting it sit , I get the roses but no popcorn or no caramel just sweet roses. And this fragrance gets me compliments. Nice one
My nose must be broken. I smell no Roses, no Vanilla, no Caramel and definitely no popcorn. All that I get is a floral bomb that I can't wash off fast enough. I tried it and put it away for a few months. It's worse than I remember.
I hated this the first time I tried it. It’s a completely different scent than I was expecting. However, coming back a month later trying it again with those expectations changed, I find this really pleasant. I can’t really smell vanilla, caramel or any popcorn note. On my skin, I would describe it more as an effervescent, sweet, bubbly rose with almost a lychee characteristic. A little goes a long way, but if you are super into super sweet, fruity roses this might be for you.
Şeftali ya da nektarin kokmak istiyorsanız idole peach and roses'a bi bakmanızı öneririm 💕
This is a modern rose fragrance. The caramel and the popcorn is hardly there but the vanilla embraces this fresh and citrusy rose with a toned down vanilla. I think this fragrance can be great for different kind of situations like work, weddings, formal events, night out, lunch with friends, when you dont know what fragrance to wear;). If you are looking for a modern rose fragrance but with more sweetness I would recommend to check out La vie est belle Rose Extraordinaire. I have this fragrance as well and it has a lot more sweetness to it. I like them both but in different ways.
It is worse than the original but likeable. Indeed can be considered neo gourmand and a modern chypre but I cannot identify the notes. Even the rose is not classically rosy. It leaves sweet taste on my tongue after I accidentally inhaled some. Projection is rather close to the skin. It feels a bit sour. Caramel is so far in the background, deep under the rose that it is barely recognizable. Yet it does smell edible in an intangible way. The blend is mainly fresh. I feel citrusy notes in the top. They overwhelm the florals. I even feel hints of black currants. At first it is close to the original but less musky. My cinema wear but I cannot say I felt it on me. Fitting for spring I dont know how it performs in different weather. There is a solar flare in the drydown - I am not sure it is natural but I like it. Soft afterscent is on me still in the morning.
This is one of the perfumes I smelled in a store and could not leave without it. The other Idoles I found quite ok, but this one is surreal, perfect. It conveys a delicious, bright, addictive and very youthful and modern character. It's fresh: the most prominent notes are undeniably floral. I catch rose and white flowers quite intensely, but it's a perfect mix, and won't leave you smelling like a bouquet or a graveyard. This is a fragrance that shines, glimmers like watching the light break in different colours when it hits splashing water. It's like walking in a beautiful rose garden in a sunny day, wearing a summer dress, when you're really, really happy. I barely notice the popcorn note. 10/10
It's addictive! Not getting caramel or popcorn, just a lot of a sweet musky rose, but I smelled a shirt that it was on for a few days and I'm getting caramel popcorn so that's cool. It really adds such a unique twist!
has this been discontinued? backup ordered; this is one of the best Lancôme perfumes, past or present.
I have been loving this so much lately, one of my favourite rose perfumes 🌹😍
I'm late to the game on this one, but man do I love it. I honestly don't smell caramel or popcorn, but what I do smell is so beautiful - more of a rose/peach/vanilla scent. Much more toned down peach than the new Peach & Roses version (which I also love), but I definitely get peach. Love it.
Roses and more roses… If you enjoy rose-forward fragrances, this one is for you. It’s a classic and elegant perfume, yet still suitable for everyday wear. It works well for the office, as after a few hours it softens and is no longer as intense as when first applied. It’s quite versatile and can be worn in any season. The popcorn note is only noticeable at the beginning, during the first hour to hour and a half. If you’re considering this fragrance specifically for that note, it may be a bit disappointing, as it doesn’t last throughout the wear. This fragrance is essentially a bouquet of sweet pink roses. The caramel note is well balanced with the vanilla, so this is not a gourmand scent. It lasts around 7 hours on clothing, with projection ranging from intimate to moderate.
With this perfume, a little goes a long way. Can be nauseating if you put too much on. I normally hate rose but this is pretty layered with sol de janiero 62 perfume or mist. Especially when the rose dies down a little.
My favorite Idôle flanker! Long lasting, it has the right balance between sweet and floral.
One of my top favorites to the point I had to stop myself from reaching for it lol I don't want to suddenly get tired of the scent or for my skin chemistry to suddenly don't like it in the future lol this is sweet but not overly sweet for me but could be cloying to others
There's absolutely no rose! Its floral fruity , popcorn might be that sharp salty notes you sense in between. Agree with previous reviews yes! there is a zesty orangy note & yes! there is peach note as well & yes! it does have a shampooy feeling to it. Is it a good purchase ? The answer is.........with all the syrupy sweet & pistachio explosion of perfumes released lately, if you feel like wearing something different, a floral fruity one then this is a safe thing to buy. However if this perfume was introduced a few years ago during the peak of the floral fruity era of Escada, DKNY.....etc then it would have definitely been a huge failure! The timing just saved that one! Must test before you buy
Gah why do all the best perfumes get discontinued. I’m assuming it is anyway as there are not so many places to get this now. I’ve just ordered a back up bottle. Currently my favourite perfume of all time and I can’t see that changing any time soon. I can smell the popcorn note easily and I love it. You get the best of both worlds with this one - fresh and bright rose makes it feminine and mature (not ‘old’ mature, just not juvenile) but then the popcorn adds the gourmand touch that I love in other perfumes. Because you’ve got the fresh rose in there it’s never too sweet or cloying. I think it’s a masterpiece. Plus the bottle is beautiful.
I prefer the original however this one is really good. It's a very soft and pleasant sweet floral scent.
A fresh rose smell that lasts about 3-6 hours on the clothes a little less on the skin. The silage is moderate. The rose smell itself reminds me of a Yankee Candle that my mother in law use to love which was called Roses of Cliff Walk. Fresh, light and not cloying or overly synthetic. I would LOVE to tell you that I can smell the popcorn and Carmel individually, but I can’t. To me, the popcorn, Carmel, and vanilla all merge into almost a sweet gourmand finish, however the rose remains throughout and it never tamps down. All in all if you like a good rose scent, this is for you. Personally I would not blind buy this unless you adore rose. I also would not recommend wearing this in an office setting because I could see where some noses my be sensitive to it.
Too much rose for me It was lovely but something tragic happened in my life while I was exploring and wearing the fragrance often. I can no longer wear it without thinking of what happened. Had to declutter
I absolutely love this! Fresh dewy rose over salty/sweet caramel popcorn, which slowly dries down to a salty/sweet vanilla! I will give a disclaimer that you need to give this time to "mature" if you really want a richer gourmand experience. I just opened a fresh bottle and the sweeter aspects are noticeably less apparent than bottles that have had time to sit.
There's a little caramel sweetness initially but it quickly turned to laundry detergent on me.
