Rose 31

Truly is one of the most masculine rose fragrances that rarely gets brought up, I have turned a couple of my homies on to this one and they all proceed with caution because of the rose but when they get their nose on it it’s a completely different story. Mineral, dusty, with a hint of rose. I’ve loved this fragrance for a long time and finally purchased another bottle after being out for some time. All in all 9.2/10

I'm asian and I don't get BO. Rose 31 made me understand what it is like to have BO. Unfortunately, the shower gel and hand soap at the Fairmont hotel are Rose 31, so there was no washing this off. On a side note, if the perfume is anything like the shower gel, then you can expect a very long-lasting scent with outstanding projection! I could not wash this off with anything else for the life of me.

Pure BO. My skin seems to amplify any cumin note and it was gross. Immediate scrubber.

Not blind-buy safe. Rose note is soft, delicate, lotion-like, and intoxicating. Dry down keeps this rose note but also adds a nasty garlicky, cumin armpit smell. Luckily, a friend of mine has an armpit f-tish so i gave this to them instead. 4/10

Oh rose 31. I remember smelling this in a hotel in mexico at like 9 years old. All the toiletries were rose 31. Whenever we were in the hotel I would go to the bathroom just to get whiffs of this scent. It was addicting. I had never smelled a scent that I loved so much. I stole a bottle of this lotion from the hotel, and for years I would open it up every so often to be reminded of how how beautiful this smelled. I wouldnt use the lotion because I did not want to one day be without this scent. Such a classic nostalgic scent to me that I can't describe it other than amazing. After smelling all the le labo classics this is still in my top three.

I've been wearing Rose 31 quite a bit lately, and it's surprisingly not overwhelming in the heat! This fragrance is so beautiful.. it's so grounding and almost reassuring. It feels like a trusted friend telling you: "hey, you've got this. You're here now - just be here. Don't sweat the stuff outside of your control. All you can do is your best, and love people in the ways you know how" A lot of Le Labo fragrances have that very *present* feeling about them, though they communicate different things. They're so layered and lively. I get the complaints about the cumin b.o. note, but that lasts all of ten minutes before it settles and Rose 31 really comes into herself.

Fresh spicy rose. Unisex leaning Masculin... yeah the cumin is kind of heavy. But dont really get the sweatiness in this one. I just feel confident the days i wanna wear this. I get about 6-8 hours from this. But I thing is get nose blind during the wear.

dusty rose vapor, grainy sand, sweet worn leather. too old-smelling for my taste. some sense of androgyny is present with the hints of leather and dirt, but ultimately it leans feminine due to the florals.

love it but sadly becomes far too smoky on my skin compared to its scent on the strip :(

Love this fragrance. I first discovered it through the Fairmont Hotel in Jakarta, Indonesia. I kept the perfume lotion and shower gel. I was 20, and I remember loving it so much. Deep down I knew it would become my signature scent one day when I was more mature. For me, Rose 31 feels like meeting your soulmate at the wrong time. It’s unexplainable. The moment I smelled the scent I knew it was the right one. But it was just a little too mature for me. Something in me knew that I would come back to it one day. I spent the next 10 years yearning for scent that spoke to my soul, only to realize that nothing was as electrifying to my heart as Rose 31. The moment I realized that, I knew I had to get it. Now I am 30 and finally own a bottle and proudly calling it my signature scent. For me It’s a full-circle moment of self-discovery. Isn’t it ironic that sometimes our younger selves already know who we are long before we do?

I got a sample of Rose 31 about two years ago. I remember liking it, and then that was that. Last week, I found the sample again after it had been lost in a cabinet, and when I tried it… the scent was off. It was so weird because I clearly remembered enjoying it. So, naturally, I made myself go to a Le Labo boutique to try it again in store, and sure enough, the fragrance was divine. Long story short: keep in mind that samples can go bad after a couple of years, lol. Anyway, I ended up buying the fragrance. I’m wearing it today, and I’m happy happy. I love that it is rose, but also… not? The rose is definitely there ,hence the name, but there’s this woody, spicy aspect that I absolutely adore. Yes, the cumin can be a bit of a problem at first; it can read a little food-like or spicy, but it settles down after a while. I know this has guaiac wood, and since I’m obsessed with Gaiac 10 and can’t get it until September, this will have to do for now. So far, I really like it, and I’m happy to have it in my collection.

I would put this at more than okay, but not worth buying, because 4-5 would be buy worthy to me. Very pretty, big big rose note, obviously. It's like a fresh trimmed rose where you can smell the cut stem with it. Has a little bit of a powdery-ish finish, which I assume was the mild musk note combined with the floral. Not a crazy unique scent that is worth its price. The rose note is so heavy, that really, I feel like you could get any EDP+ rose scent (as in, only focused on rose, or rose with very few other notes), and it would be very similar to this. I love rose, so this is lovely, but they haven't made anything special.

Too smoky for me, suitable for rock band boys and girls. Definitely not my type. Updated: after about 6 hours on my skin, it smells like armpit odor on my skin …

The cumin note ruined it for me, I can’t stand it. It smells dirty. I like dark, sexy perfumes, but not as if I haven’t washed myself in days.

Strange rose with mostly woody materials in the composition. It feels like they tried to create rose perfume only using wood, labdanum, little bit of spice and aldehydes. And as the result you get fresh and sour rose with bold woody-rose middle notes. Definitely feminine for me

Something about Le Labo fragrances always reads Hotel Lobby to me. This is no exception. Opaque for all the wrong reasons, and definitely not a rose.

Holding an old rose (1) and walking through an estate sale. I feel like I need to grow up a little bit to wear this one.

A rose fragrance similar to Nirvana Rose is my white whale. This was not it unfortunately. But it was interesting and I liked it enough. But the dry down reminded me of church incense and that just made me sad.

To me this is a nice cedar scent, quite along the lines of Creed Royal Oud. The opening, and rose-cumin, give it a different touch, but after 20 minutes this is mostly a cedar scent for me. Like it quite a bit, but the name and the comparisons/reminds me of here make it look like something that, at least to me, it is not.

I couldn't recognise the rose in this at first, but I eventually linked it to rosy soap bars and mild lotion. I like the cumin a lot, it's the most inspired thing in this scent. It's warm and pleasant. There's wood. I can't get that enthusiastic about it. Edited 12 hours later... nvm I went to sleep and when I woke up it was beautiful and not soapy at all. When will I learn. It bloomed.

A woody fragrance built around a rose core. Deep red roses set a slightly melancholic mood, like the far corner of a room filled with rustic furniture. Similar to Toy Boy, it feels approachable for men yet confident enough for women. Unfortunately, it doesn’t last as long on my skin as I’d expect for the price

Not so easily disappointed but here we are..........with some woody floral bullshit, and very faint at that, a regret in a bottle followed by some brand hype, thank god I had a sample first.

Rose note is atypical: mature, warm, dry, and certainly not cloying. The wood note is strong, ~65% of the overall scent, but unfortunately smells similar to pencil shavings. The dry down mellows them out, but not a favorite for sure.

the next best le labo right after santal 33. It is truly a head turner. I got so many compliments while wearing it.

This perfume smells like ballet trauma, performance day hairspray, red lipstick, having your hair beaten into a bun by a woman you’ve never met who’s helping out backstage. I think the woody and resiny notes overpower the floral and make it almost bitter. It’s very off putting to me. The dry down is more pleasant than the initial spray at least.

The initial opening is quite pleasant, featuring a mildly sweet rose aroma that’s beautifully complemented by woody notes. This combination of the woods makes it unisex and entirely wearable for men. However, after a few minutes, I noticed the scent took on a slightly soapy quality—think of a luxurious rose-scented soap you might find in a high-end hotel. Around the 30-minute mark, the fragrance transitioned into a spicier and muskier rose, which intrigued me. Once I discovered the spice was cumin, it made more sense the direction the aroma took. While the cumin adds a unique muskiness, it thankfully doesn’t evoke the body odor connotation that it can sometimes carry. As the scent settles, it becomes more subdued, revealing a predominantly woody rose that’s closer to the skin. The projection is quite good for the first half-hour, but it becomes more intimate after that, lasting just over five hours in total. To enhance its longevity, I layered it with a base of iso-e-super, which helped significantly—both in durability and in keeping the scent from becoming overly soapy.

Love this one so much because even though it’s a rose fragrance at its core, that cumin note is what makes it so special and unique! I love that it’s not dirty but it’s also not soapy. It’s a spicy rose that has oomph without being brash. Definitely not a blind buy, it is a must sample on skin and let it stay there to make an informed decision prior to buying 🤭

this frag shines for me in the dry down. that cumin is strangely addictive. this is not a safe/ typical rose fragrance. it kind of smells like pencil shavings with the slightest hint of rose. its weirdly enjoyable. not for everyone though.
