The best sugar-free deeply resinous vanilla, with very fine smoke in dense balsamic base. Rich, mellow, graceful, grown-up vanilla for any gender.

I can't believe that this brand is no more. Gone. It was tragic already with her dying so young, but to have these lovely creations simply relegated to history has me melancholic today. This vanilla is a vanilla that's not a vanilla. Or I should say it's not what is accepted as a "popular" vanilla. This reminds me of a room with a subtle whiff of creosol from a fireplace and quite a bit of a fruity, spicy clove, with the petitgrain bolstering the bitter orange in the top notes. And the top notes last a while. It says rum, but I never smell rum anyway so it doesn't factor to my nose. Weaving and wandering through is a dark, woody, leathery (not animalic to me) vanilla. Elegant, not sweet but not austere either, there's a bit of sweetness but it's natural not sugar. It's a beauty and I hope I can luck into another bottle. If not, I'll use this one up bc not to would be an insult to Mona di Orio.

Oh I just found out that the house is on hiatus and my god, if they don't bring this back, I don't know what I will do. It is an absolute masterpiece. It's kept me warm on many a winter night. A vanilla for grown ups, vanilla pirate ship, vanilla viking funeral.

I love it, it's real music. Very dry fragrance, one of the driest I've ever come across. I watch "Dune" with it to enhance the desert effect. It's certainly not a confectionery processed vanilla, but a real smoked dried pod from Madagascar.

Masterpiece! It is so well made that we mortals cannot waste words to describe the blend, the pyramid, the evolution... It is so special that maybe you will hardly find an enough special occasion to wear it, 'cause it will certainly make you more special than the occasion itself.

I’m reviewing old bottle with the champagne cork lid. It’s starts very spicy and strong: lots of cloves and pepper (for me it smells white pepper: dry, dusty, but not too cold). I can also smell a bit of camphor or maybe a bay leaf (something pretty aromatic). After a while it transforms into warmer balsamic vanilla scent: super gooey and resinous with powerful tolu balm undertones. It’s a very unique vanilla scent for sure! Follow me on IG: scent.guide

I really hope they bring this back. Looking at the website it appears the brand is in hiatus? It is a masterpiece of perfumery. Smells unbelievably well-blended and indulgent and just oozes luxury perfumery.

Haddock your review is spot on. For me it is very difficult to spray this perfume then go to work (office environment). However every time I do it never fails to impress me but I have to savour this beauty in a private ambience. It is unusual and powerful. I have a bottle from the first batches produced. Intoxicating, perfect to wear it around Christmas time. I treasure that golden liquid.

The name of this perfume is vanilla; So if you like the smell of pure vanilla or you like sweet perfumes; Just these two items; Do not go for this perfume; Because you will be disappointed. I really like sweet notes and I don't like the smell of clove! I bought this perfume by blind buy; only for many admire about Vanilla by Mona di Orio that I read about it. The beginning of the perfume is the dominant note of clove; and vanilla is present very little in the initial stage. It seems to exist in the lower layers and it is not a dominant note at all. Clove has a bad bitter smell in my opinion and for that reason I am not very fond of this note. But in the top note stage of the perfume; This bad bitterness note; seems to be covered by bitterness of orange peel. Of course, I should remind you that this bitterness of orange peel is only associated with the same bitterness of orange peel, and you will not get the smell of orange from it. In my opinion, this bitterness is only used to cover the unpleasant bitterness of cloves in the formula. This perfume is the rare perfumes that has a relatively long top note, and for half an hour you will only smell the described scent. After about half an hour, the middle note of the perfume starts and the vanilla moves from the lower layers to the top and the perfume a little be sweet; I emphasize that it is slightly sweet. Don't think that you are facing a sweet fragrance at this stage (something like A-Man by Mugler or Havane by Mugler), but a slightly sweet and soft smoky smell. At this stage, the fragrance becomes much more lovely. After 1.5 hours passed; The perfume reaches its final notes. At this stage, you will feel the accord, which is primarily tolu balsam, followed by vanilla, and thirdly by leather. I have essential oil of tolu balsam and after 2 hour; the dominant note become this substance. I think that the point of tolu balsam should be upper from now in this page, perhaps most of people don't have this essential oil and don't know what the scent of tolu balsam is. In this phase, the smell of perfume becomes even more pleasant. The vanille by Mona di Orio is very beautiful and professionally formulated, and it goes from a slight bitterness to a gentle and lovely sweetness, and from a very light oud to a charming resinous and balsamic scent. The longevity of the perfume is very good and comfortable, at least 10-12 hours; But the perfume silage is quite average. This perfume is complex and is not simple and linear and has depth, as you can by smelling the place where you sprayed the perfume; Easily understand the stage of the perfume that shows itself (top note, middle note or base note). But if you don't like clove note (like me), this perfume can reconcile you with clove note! اسم این عطر وانیل هست؛ بنابرین اگر شما از بوی وانیل خالص خوشتون میاد و یا عطرهای شیرین رو دوست دارید؛ به صرف این دو مورد؛ طرف این عطر نروید؛ چون ناامید میشوید من از نتهای شیرین خیلی خوشم میاد و برعکس از بوی میخک خوشم نمیاد این عطر رو هم به خاطر تعریف های مختلفی که ازش شده بود؛ بدون تجربه ی بویائی قبلی خریداری کردم شروع عطر با نت غالب میخک هست و وانیل خیلی خیلی کم در مرحله ی ابتدایی حضور دارد. انگار در لایه های زیرین وجود داره و اصلا نت غالب نیست. خود میخک یک بوی تلخ بدی از نظر من داره و من به این جهت خیلی به این نت علاقه ندارم. ولی در مرحله ی تاپ نت عطر؛ این تلخی بد میخک انگار از آن گرفته شده و تلخی که از نوع تلخی پوست پرتقال هست؛ جایگزین اون تلخی نامطبوع شده. البته باید یادآوری کنم که این تلخی پوست پرتقال فقط با همان تلخی پوست پرتقال همراه هست و بوی پرتقال رو از آن دریافت نخواهید کرد. صرفا این تلخی به خاطر پوشاندن تلخی نامطبوع میخک در فرمول استفاده شده این عطر به نظر من اولین عطری هست که تاپ نت نسبتا طولانی داره و تا نیم ساعت فقط رایحه ی شرح داده شده رو استشمام خواهید کرد بعد از حدود نیم ساعت نت میانی عطر شروع میشه و وانیل از اون لایه های پایین به سمت بالا حرکت میکنه و عطر رو کمی؛ تاکید میکنم کمی شیرین میکنه. اصلا فکر نکنید که در این مرحله با عطری شیرین روبرو هستید(چیزی مثل ای-من موگله و یا هاوانه از برند موگله) بلکه یک بوی کمی شیرین و ملیح به همراه یک بوی دودی بسیار مختصر و نرم به مشام میرسه. عطر در این مرحله خیلی دوست داشتنی تر میشه بعد از حدود 1.5 ساعت از شروع زدن عطر؛ عطر به سمت نتهای پایانی خودش میرسه در این مرحله شما آکوردی رو حس خواهید کرد که در درجه ی اول تولوبالسام و در درجه ی بعدی وانیل و در درجه ی سوم چرم هست. من اسانس خالص رزین تولو بالسام رو دارم. بوی رزینی و رمز آلودی داره. عطر در نت انتهاییش خیلی از نت تولو بالسام بهره برده و شاید علتی که اکثر افراد به آن در نمودار فراوانی عناصر رای ندادند؛ همین عدم آشنایی آنها با این نت هست که بنظرم از حدود ۲ ساعت به بعد خیلی در این عطر بارز هست. در این فاز هم بوی عطر بمراتب دلنوازتر میشه یعنی میتونم بهتون اینطوری توضیح بدم که از اول شروع اسپری عطر تا اتمام کل بوی عطر که حداقل۱۱ ساعت بعد هست، نمودار خوشبوئی عطر با شیب ۳۰ درجه و بدون وقفه به سمت بالا حرکت میکنه عطر وانیل بسیار زیبا و حرفه ای فرموله شده و از یک تلخی کم به یک شیرینی ملایم و دوست داشتنی و از یک عطر عودی خیلی ملایم به یک عطر رزینی و بالزامیک دلربا میرسه طول عمر عطر خیلی خوبه و راحت و حداقل ۱۲ - ۱۰ ساعت هست؛ ولی پخش عطر در حد کاملا متوسط هست و اصلا پخش بوی زیادی نداره این عطر؛ عطری بدون عمق و ساده و خطی نیست و دارای عمق هست؛‌بطوری که شما میتونید با بو کردن محلی که عطر رو پاشیده اید؛ به مرحله ای از عطر که خود نمایی میکنه(نت ابتدایی؛‌نت میانی و یا نت پایانی) به راحتی پی ببرید در مجموع عطر وانیل از برند نیش مونا دی اوریو عطری است که از نظر من برای افرادی که تازه با دنیای عطر آشنا شده اند؛ کمی پیچیده، سنگین و غیر قابل هضم است و باید عطرهای ساده تری رو استفاده کنند تا بتوانند کم کم با تغییرات بویائی این عطر معرکه کنار بیایند. در ضمن اینکه، با صرف دوست داشتن نت وانیلی؛ شما اگر بخواهید این عطر روبه صورت بدون تست بویایی خریداری کنید؛ ریسک بزرگی کرده اید و ممکن است نا امید شوید. ولی اگر از نت میخک خوشتان نمیاید ( مثل خودم ) این عطر میتواند شما را با نت میخک آشتی بده 这款香水的名字是香草；所以，如果您喜欢纯香草的味道，或者喜欢甜甜的香水；就这两项；不要购买这款香水；因为你会失望的。 我真的很喜欢甜味，不喜欢丁香味！ 这款香水我是盲买的；我读了 Mona di Orio 的《香草》一书，只是因为许多人都崇拜它。 香水的开头主要以丁香味为主；在初始阶段，香草的含量非常少。它似乎存在于较低的层次，而且根本不是一个主导音符。在我看来，丁香有一种难闻的苦味，因此我不太喜欢这种香味。但在香水的前调阶段；这股难闻的苦味；仿佛被橘皮的苦味掩盖了。当然我要提醒大家的是，这种橘皮的苦味，只是和橘皮同样的苦味有关，并不会从中闻到橘子的味道。在我看来，这种苦味只是用来掩盖配方中丁香令人不快的苦味而已。 这款香水是罕见的前调较长的香水，半个小时之内你只会闻到所描述的香味。 约半小时后，香水的中调开始飘出，香草味由下层移至上层，香水变得有些甜美；我强调一下，它有点甜。不要以为此时你闻到的是一种甜美的香味（类似 Mugler 的 A-Man 或 Mugler 的 Havane），而是一种略带甜味和柔和的烟熏味。此时，香味变得更加迷人。 一个半小时过去后；香水达到了最后的香调。在此阶段，您会感受到一种和谐的感觉，主要为妥鲁香脂的味道，其次是香草味，第三是皮革味。我有妥鲁香脂精油，2 小时后；主导音调成为这种物质。我认为从现在开始在这个页面上吐鲁香脂的重点应该更高，也许大多数人没有这种精油，也不知道吐鲁香脂的气味是什么。在这个阶段，香水的味道会变得更加令人愉悦。 我的意思是我可以给你解释一下，从香水开始喷洒，到整个香味逐渐消散，也就是大概11个小时之后，香水的香气质量图是按30度的斜率不间断地向上移动的。 Mona di Orio 的香草非常美丽且经过专业配制，从轻微的苦味到温和可爱的甜味，从非常清淡的乌木香味到迷人的树脂和香脂香味。 香水的留香时间很好，很舒服，至少有10-12个小时；但香水的扩散度却很一般。 这款香水很复杂，不是简单线性的，而是有深度的，就像你闻到喷洒香水的地方一样；轻松了解香水展现的各个阶段（前调、中调或基调）。 总的来说，我认为 Mona di Orio 的香草味香水并不适合那些刚接触香水世界的人；它有点复杂，沉重而神秘，他们应该使用更简单的香水，这样他们才能逐渐适应这种奇妙香水气味的变化。 此外，只是喜欢香草味；如果您想购买这款香水；你已经冒了很大的风险，你可能会失望。但如果你不喜欢丁香味道（像我一样），这款香水可以让你与丁香味道和解！

Highly savory-smelling and even a bit woodsy, coarse, and smoky, with fresh orange peel in the opening before it blossoms with the atmospheric quality of incense. Vanille is vanilla made into a winter feast on a wooden table, a blizzard outside. The spiciness and savoriness permeates from top to bottom but becomes slightly less kitchen seasoning as you get deeper into the dry down, at which point it's mostly a dry and smoky, slightly clove-imbued vanilla. At no point does it get sweet or cuddly. It notably doesn't project much; I have to get close to my arm in order to smell it after 30 minutes or so. Overall, it's a distinct and interesting winter scent without reaching all the way into exoticism nor staying close to home with the sweet cozy gourmand stereotype.

This is a delicious concoction of rum, cloves and vanilla. I think cloves can be a tricky note and can easily be overpowering in a scent, however I love the way the cloves are done here. It is so evocative and smells instantly like Christmas. This is definitely a winter warming gourmand. It smells like warm Christmas cake with vanilla cream. If boozy spiced vanillas are your thing, you must try this.

I'm wearing Vanille by Mona di Orio now. First time test wear. It's good. Not quite the promise of my test blotter first sniffs, but good. Probably will rate as one of my favorite vanillas, along with Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille and Ted Lapidus Pour Lui. While smelling on test blotter, I was thinking it brought to mind the wooden barrel that contains the Bay Rum on an 18th century ship. With lots of added vanilla. That's similar to the scent of an old ship carrying spices, fruit and flowers to Madagascar that the brand envisioned. I was unaware of that brand vision at the time. I'm a big fan of Bay Rums, with their sweet spices, and a vanilla and wood version is bound to be right up my alley. Projection seems to be moderate however. And I would have liked it to be as unique and different as possible, and really stand out more from other vanillas. It's not as unique as I would have liked and mostly it doesn't stand out that much. I thought the same thing of Byredo Vanille Antique. Though the opening of Vanille by Mona di Orio does show promise in that regard. But as it dries down, it generally shows a regression to the industry mean. Still, all in all one of the better vanillas.

One of my absolute favourites and one I reach for a lot in fall and winter. It may not be for you if you don't like cloves, because it has a lot. It's very woody, dry, spicy and boozy. Great if you want a rich, dark vanilla that's not sweet. It lasts FOREVER on me. Definitely nails its concept of an old wooden ship full of rum barrels, spices, vanilla and oranges. I put it in my personal catagory of "more jazz club than Jazz Club" fragrances.

First impression: Holy smokes this smells great. I normally hate cloves and I expected not to like this but they're perfectly balanced. I am a sucker for both rum and bitter orange, and they blend perfectly with the spicy clove, woods and vanilla. I can sense the resins and I find the musk to not be the clean variety. One thing I notice about this musk on my skin is that it smells like real deer musk although it is probably an accord. Excellent perfumery! Scent 9.4/10 Performance TBD

A dry vanilla. Clove dominated from the start and the clove never left during the dry-down. As others have said, this is not like most vanillas which tend to be sweet -- it's spicy, herbed, and rum over a slightly smokey vanilla backdrop. And it works well for that. But I feel I would only want to wear it at Christmas -- to me, it has all the resonances of holiday potpourri. That's what I smell from twenty minutes after putting it on to two hours after. I don't see nutmeg as a note but I get some of it during the dry down, which dry down is somewhat one dimensional to me. But it does have nice longevity and sillage, better than most vanillas. However, all in all, I'd go to Ambre Narguile for sweet vanilla wearing, or (similarly, if even a bit sweeter and more pastry-like) Angels' Share. Or, if I want spicier and more of an incense over boozy vanilla -- also with some resonances of the holidays -- Encens Suave which, for me, is much more complex and interesting.

Beautiful, sophisticated vanilla

A woody vanilla, heavy on the spices, especially clove. The bitter orange/petitgrain is very present in the opening but subsides after the dry down. Moderate projection and sillage; lasts on me around 5-6 hours. Wouldn't purchase a FB because gourmands aren't my thing, but i can tell this is a quality fragrance that is packed with naturals and well blended

Herbal green notes and juicy orange // sliced through with cloves on a base of (literally ) buttery vanilla. The pirates have taken this ship, so the whole thing is drunk on rum.

The epitome of Christmas in a bottle. Mona di Orio was a genius. A glorious petitgrain opening, merging into cloves, warm vanilla and woods. It is simply stunning. Allow it some time to dry down and you will find heart stopping artistry here. It is dazzlingly beautiful. If you like neroli (blossoms) and petitgrain (neroli leaves and branches) you really must try this before you die.

Smells like Christmas pot pourri but in the absolute best sense possible.

A wonderfully resinous vanillic boozy number, with the bitterness and sharpness that cloves bring. Traces of citrus elements peek through now and then, but for me where it is let down is with the amount of cloves in this. It's just TOO much for me and my tastes. If we could dial it down a smidge, I might be more interested in this. Everything else about this scent is on point, levelled and layered perfectly, it's just the cloves. Outside my range of acceptability and whatnot. If you're keen on your cloves, this might just work for you...

[Vanille] ⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚪️ A soft vanilla made even softer with masses of sandalwood and waxy musks. Vanille is balsamic, waxy, and slightly herbal thanks to the petitgrain. Clove is present but doesn’t bring with it the astringent qualities I get from eugenol and other clove chems. It’s a very amber experience overall but it doesn’t sit too heavily on the skin. It’s a very sexy and confident take on vanilla which removes it from the company of the types of perfume oversprayed by teenage girls. I like this a lot however I can’t see through the lashings of musk and sandalwood which can sour the illusion. But that said, it depends on the day. Even whilst writing this review, I’ve flopped between liking this, and falling head over heals for it.

This smells like Fireball whiskey with clove water added. A complex, heavy, deep vanilla created by other major players of woods, aromatics and ambery smokiness. The leather in the base makes this lean masculine in my opinion. This is loud and lasting, not your basic vanilla meaning there are more features than just vanilla. More color. However, this is not for me. There is nothing wrong with basic sometimes if you still feel good wearing it, just like how “too much” can sometimes be wrong for you. Frankly, this is the kind of fragrance that would annoy me, or spark nausea, after the 3rd hour of wear, let alone the 8th lol. Doesn’t help that I dislike Fireball. Albeit very smooth, cinnamon with this particular sweetness makes my stomach turn. Like a bad hangover.

I hate this. I’m sorry I bought 9ml from overseas. It’s like weird gross incense. I wish I hadn’t spend so much. I have and love many spicy vanillas but this is not a safe blind buy.

Sour citrus top in the most pleasant way, with a hint of sweetness as in orange instead of lemon or lime bound to vanilla with a myrrh-like glue imo, i say myrrh because it has a dense waxy nature like a candle with myrrh scent. Yes there's vanilla here but it's not a straight up vanilla, imo this is kind of incensy, there's a familiar frankincense running through this although I don't see it listed, I sure can smell it, and the clove just rounds this up and take it out of being just a forgettable vanilla, however, the clove is not in ur face dental office clove, it's quite well-blended. In fact, as much as I love this perfume, I never wear it and I think that the reason is just because it's too well-blended and rounded up.

Starts off green and herbal, then a huge burts of what I thought might be ginger but the clove is what really pops out atop a beautiful ambery vanilla. A nice complex spicy woodsy vanilla scent.

Oh I love this when I go to work. It is not as strong as Spiriteuse Vanille where the wood is stronger and this is why I like Mona's creation. A smooth, sophisticated, smoky, then boozy vanilla - very unique.. whats not to love ????? My colleagues at work love it too. Makes me feel beautiful on days when you dont want your perfume to be loud but still want to look and feel chic. I'll take this over Dojima anytime. I recommend Vanille. Very very chic.
