If you like TF Ombré Leather that is a perfect choice for a better price. I love it.
I love this so much more in the summer! The heat smoothes everything out and turns the perfume into a sweet, smoky leathery blanket. In winter it feels like synthetic rubbery candy.
Nose Note #957 The most pleasant Tuscan Leather clone I have. I haven't tried the OG though, but judging from the clones alone the OG seems to be much more leathery than this and maybe even less raspberry than this. It's like a smoother, more unisex, slightly sweeter, overall more transparent scent and I'd say much much more wearable and mass appealing. Aoud Leather doesn't even feel like a leather scent to me. I guess you could say it has the fruity oud in it like Oud Wood and Imperial Valley, but the oud note is very toned down, same as leather. The raspberry is not literally like raspberry, it's more of an aquatic citrus plus raspberry. What a nice scent this is. Wonderful for the price, definitely worth it. To me this is perfectly unisex. Very strong!! But never overpowering. Great sillage. 8.6/10, I never really liked Tuscan Leather, but this is brilliant and makes me want to try more clones like Godolphin
Very nice sweet leather scent by montale may be a bit too sweet. If you have tom ford ombre leather don't buy this they almost identical!
Elegant leather smell from initial spray. The sweet and spicy notes accompany it. I was expecting an in your face leather but its actually very smooth. The oud is not a smoky one and actually very sweet, like a Borneo or Sumbawa Oud. Linear straightforward. Leather and oud. Nothing extraordinarly unique but its done well. Its definitely a cooler weather and night time scent. The sillage is great and longevity is longlasting. Definitely a masculine fragrance.
I tried this perfume from a flanker from one of my friends, and at the first impression is very similar with Oud Wood Tom Ford. Smells like a leather wallet with cigar and also cinnamon and vanilla. Do not get yourself fooled by the sharpness from the beginning, in 30 minutes it becomes very suitable for a female. It is very powerfull, and the longevity is amazing, I was being able to sniff it realistically also in the evening after more than 12 hours. You can imagine that smell from a leather products shop while the seller still has on his hands the smell of the cigar and a bit of his cologne sprayed in the morning.
Besides Bergamot, Black Pepper and Leather, Montale's new website declares the following notes: Cedar Wood, Guaiac Wood, Lemon, Nutmeg, Oakmoss, Rose, Rosemary, Violet and White Musk. This fragrance is not dark nor animalic at all. There is no Oud in it and the Leather note is faint. It actually has somome freshness, and it's and versatile. The citrus notes in this EDP are sweet, and they seem to work in conjuction with the subtle florals to create a friuity accord. Guaiac Wood provides a bit of smokiness to the composition. It leans masculine and it is office-safe. While it's not their heaviest hitter, it is best enjoyed when sprayed with moderation.

Opens up melony, then towards an agarwood facet. A bit further in the drydown, it becomes obvious that this was inspired by Tom Ford (2007 vs 2009, just sayin'), particularly Tuscan Leather that the combination of the saffron and cardamom somehow emulates a raspberry sensation (Ombre only has cardamom, but this frag also has it but emulates a raspberry accord, hence this comparison when Tuscan actually has a raspberry accord). Unfortunately, I'm not really a big fan of TF Tuscan or Ombre leather since they both miss the leather realization by light years, as does this frag, so either way it's inconsequential--this is basically Tuscan/Ombre Leather for all intents and purposes. Hard pass.
A complete wastage of money - barely noticeable and with zer0000 sillage. Even though i like leather perfumes - this one is a disappointment !!!!
To start off, this is actually not quite what I was expecting but ended up still liking what it is more than what I expected. This fragrance is what you would imagine an incredibly clean leather car seat would smell like, or almost like the leather equivalent of white chocolate, it's clean, slightly sweet, very fresh spicy and is absolutely quite versatile. The performance is also really good, I get at least 10 hours of longevity, the projection is moderate to strong too. Even though I was actually expecting a darker, more warm spicy almost dirty scent with hints of a little bit of baccarat-esque DNA in the base, this still satisfied me quite decently, and the oud also isn't very noticeable, at least on my skin. Also, I don't know if it's like this anywhere else but the price of Montale fragrances for their quality and performance is genuinely really good value, I got my bottle of this for £45!! For 100ml too! For those curious, I use perfumeoasis, they're legit and have really good prices. Anyway, this fragrance is really good, it's mass appealing, quite sexy, and versatile for every day use, enough to be a signature scent even. I do love this. To me, this frag is a 8.5/10, I would have personally liked a slightly higher dose of saffron or cardamom, but this is still fantastic.
This is basically ombre leather. Saying this is tuscan leather is dumb. If you know how ombre leather smells, you know this smells good. Clean and sharp leather scent that is mass-appealing and easy to wear. Very different from the typical montale DNA. Like eternal wood, this is a more financially sound and equally tantalizing fragrance compared to its more expensive sibling. Performance is great and you can get this for cheap! Very pleased with this purchase.
I had my eye on this awhile back when I was searching for a leather fragrance, But I couldn't find this in store anywhere and I didn't want to blind buy it. Last week, my go-to discounter had a vial of this stuff. I ordered it instantly. This might be my favorite leather fragrance that I have tried. This is a clean, sweet and slightly spicy leather. Unlike something like Ombre Leather which is more rugged, and straight leather (to me). This one is more appealing, has more character, and is also very smooth and not harsh at all. I also remember seeing reviews stating it had a "aquatic" vibe to it. I kind of get it, It's a bit salty maybe due to the Ambergris- but this is still clearly a leather fragrance. The saffron in Aoud Leather is also prominent, I typically am not a fan of Saffron, but It works very well here. I really like this stuff, I find it strangely addictive, and would definitely consider adding this as my first leather fragrance in my collection. 8/10
Guilty pleasure scent for me. Don't expect compliments, but strangely addictive.
My batch is old so very weak. So I am waiting to use it in summers. In Pakistan, it goes to 41C so very hot. Generally good frag.
I've already left a review on this but I just wanted to say this is one of the best leather fragrances you can buy and on most sites it's less than 50 bucks. For that price it's an absolute steal and this is one of the most beastly performing leather fragrances. 10/10 on this.
I used it for about a year before writing this review. I couldn't bring myself to write a superficial review. When I first put it on, I thought it smelled like a new basketball, like Louis Vuitton leather, with a dominant scent of bergamot and light, fresh leather. It is a fairly linear scent and the combo of saffron and bergamot lasts for several hours. I wore aoud leather for a few months thinking it was much fresher, but as the weather turned colder, I noticed the smokeiness of the oud thickening in the middle. It even feels warmer as it changes with the temperature. This is a smooth blend, so you may not feel the oud at first impression, but the clean oud is there, and as soon as you perceive it, you know it is spreading well behind you. After a few hours to a day of dry-down, the bergamot and saffron notes mysteriously transform into a smooth roundness and acidity, like the aroma of berries, and at this stage it is clear to see why it is compared to Tuscan leather. It is a masterpiece that can be worn all year round, with freshness prevailing in summer and the thickness of the leather prevailing in winter. To tell the truth, I was disappointed when I first purchased it, as it seemed to me to be a straight new leather scent without much depth. Still, it was somewhat addictive, and the experience of noticing the depth and artistry as I wore it was wonderful. The performance is great and lasts 12 hours on the skin and more than 2 days on the clothes.10/10
Smooth, silky leather! Nothing harsh, a bit sweet, but well blended. Beautiful fragrance, may have to pick this one up.
This is similar to TF Ombre Leather. People who say TF Ombre leather and Tuscan leather are the same should not be buying expensive fragrances.
this is what i want out of oud. i smell like a mountain but not like "outside". the leather is so lovely and long lastiong, the oud is not subtle but it isnt in your face either. its very "collected" and refined but not too formal or snooty to wear just out about either. the leather here isnt the astringently clean white sports car interior type of leather like in their arabians tonka, its closer to a nice pair of boots scent of leather, or a dark couch worn golden like brass where theyve been most worn on. theres a certain old wood and old book quality that i havent really found adequately represented in perfumes much less with this sillage and projection. a librarian a barber or a lumberjack seems like the type of men this is for, whatever that means. i really like it.
Best performing leather fragrance i own. Smells somewhat similar to tuscan leather but there are differences. If you love leather then you'll love this. Eternal longevity and enormous sillage. 9.5/10
All I want to know is which tom ford does this smell like
• Good! • We really need a t** f*** filter option on this site. TF did not invent leather fragrances (300+ years ago) nor sweet leather fragrances (100+ years ago). • This is not marketed as a TF clone, does not have a similar note list, nothing. I don't know why people are rating it based on its "accuracy".
Tom Ford leather is suede and boring AF. Soft ass stuff. Weak.
Usual Montale traits are all here - beast mode performance both regarding longevity and projection, pleasant but synthetic formulation, and a little cloying overall impression. Luckily for me, I love strong perfumes, and on a scale from 1 to Red Tobacco, this is an easy 8.5. What I really like in this is that it has its own character. Yes, due to the combination of a leather-animalic backbone with light fruits, comparison to Tuscan Leather is imminent, but the Montale is more wearable and versatile for me. Overall, Tuscan Leather is a much more luxurious, elevated experience, while the Montale is fairly office safe. To put it in another way, the TF always reminds me of a mansion at night with high-end leather furniture, while this is more of a classic car interior like scent, one which I would dare to encounter more as an everyday experience. The opening is really well crafted with the prominent bergamot and saffron note, which quickly turns into that signature Montale (synthetic) oud accord. Unlike for example Arabians Tonka however, this one is smooth and rounded all the way, keeping a sweet, animalic leather as a solid base. Compliments are rare, a lot of people find this a little cloying or a little too animalic - the uncompromising luxury of the TF usually gets more positive attention. At first I thought getting Tuscan Leather renders this obsolete, but I quickly changed my mind, and kept both in my collection.
Took me a few months but fell in love with this one. Can’t speak for how “authentic” or “natural” the scent is but I tend to do well with syrupy leathers and this is a solid add to my collection. The oud keeps things bright which is nice. I wore this to a concert then went to a friends party directly afterwards and got several compliments. Maybe it just needs a little sweat, a few splashes a spilled beer and ambient smoke to come alive? Did NOT love this at first - but it’s fun/feels unique without coming off precious or overly formal. Are there richer and more unique leathers out there? Of course, but Aoud Leather is a DL freak that stands out without being the center of attention. 7.478/10
Pair this with auod night and it's amazing layer it in equal sprays longevity is divine even after you wash your garments.
I'm still not sure what I think of this fragrance. Aoud Leather was a blind buy last year that I've refused to give up on. But I still don't know if it's for me. The opening is a bright spikey citrus and peppery saffron that, at least initially, reminds me of Aquanet hairspray. Once I get used to it, the opening feels more fresh spicy and less annoying but it takes awhile. Eventually the opening gives way to the part I enjoy most: the salty dry leather and ambergris that sits on the skin all day. As the day wears on I'll occasionally detect a woodiness that could be the oud but it's less prominent than other Montale ouds I wear. I have to admit though, I'm not sure at all how it's perceived in air by others. Unusually, no one has ever mentioned it to me. Since I can smell wafts all day that does worry me a bit. My friends and family aren't normally the types to hold back their opinions, good or bad. Performance is fine. Any variability can be traced back to the condition of my skin. Ps: I know Montale isn’t listening but this could use some cardamon.
First fragrance that gave me headache. Too strong leather for me. Longevity and sillage is great.
My first and ABSOLUTELY THE BEST leather fragrance. Got it back in 2019. Used 5 bottles ever since
