My taste in fragrances changes over time. It changes in terms of notes i like but also what i want from parfum in terms of projection and longevity. At the beginning if looked only for beast mode fragrances, but over time i found place for subtle fragrances. Starwalker is definitly subtle, intimate fragrance and i really loved it even when i looked for strong fragrances. Its perfect, its exactly where it needs to be. It's not something i will wear for date night or party, as it will evaporate - but smaller places like car, office now we are talking. It has that calm, at home vibe. Sometimes i fell like its 2010 and 15 year old me is playing Yu Gi Oh with my best friend and its summer night outside .
With so many fragrances you find at cheap discounters under $30 comes with understanding that you’re dealing with usually older fragrances ,which means they’ve been reformulated already (possibly several times) and then the other possible factors like storage, batch, dilution, etc. So you really gotta temper your expectations, especially with a fragrance like this which was released in 2005. So most people only interaction with this fragrance, like myself, have only been from purchasing it discounters many years after it made it to those stores. With that being said, I don’t think Mont Blanc Starwalker is really worth the pick up two decades later. To me this fragrance smells a bit harsh from the synthetics when smelling up close and I confirmed with my wife too several times and she always has the same reaction of “ooof that’s strong” lol To me the notes are incomprehensible at this point, it is “fresh a scent”, but it more or of a generic soaps or fabric softeners. I guess you can kind of smell the apple, but you do definitely the woodyness under there along with the amber once it settles down a bit. However, I’ve never once got the bamboo or that it ever reminded of a “Bamboo” fragrance, maybe at some point in the OG formula it did. The same with the Versace Eu Fraiche comparison, which I’ve had the OG of and its reformulation(s) over the year, it is has never once reminded me of Eau Fraiche nor do I see those similarities. All in all, I don’t doubt at one point this was a great fragrance and a good cheap pick up when it came to discounters in its first decade. However now, unless you are a collector or want something in your bag or car for emergencies (there’s far better cheapie fragrances for this btw) , I’d just skip this one. 3/5
Muito bom, muito bom mesmo. Dá pra sentir muito bem o bambu (lá ele) Sempre que uso recebo muitos elogios. Mas a projeção e duração é baixa. Um dos meus perfumes favoritos com toda certeza
Love this! I actually tried Starwalker Extreme first, which I also love, but if anything I feel like the original is much more extreme. It's sort of sharp and zingy, fresh and a little bitter, but very clean and pleasant. Projects well and lasts a long time, leaves a lovely little sillage. I don't get anything powdery here, but in the deep dry down it gets closer to the cloudy vibe the Extreme version has. The Extreme version, on the other hand, is like a mildly aromatic Lucky Charms marshmallow. Very quiet projection and doesn't last very long, but really pleasantly soothing. Wish they'd undiscontinue it. But for the $20 or whatever this costs, you really can't go wrong here.
Bamboo, a white shirt, morning air. A scent of quiet intelligence. Montblanc Starwalker is, to me, a very quiet and transparent fragrance. Although it is marketed as a men’s fragrance, on my skin it does not feel like a typically masculine scent. It feels more androgynous, cool, soft, and intellectual. At first, I sense bright citrus and a clean, airy lightness. Then a transparent green quality appears, something that reminds me of bamboo and fresh leaves. What I love about this fragrance is that it does not try to assert itself too strongly. It is not a scent that pushes sexuality to the front. Instead, it feels like the scent of someone quiet, composed, and slightly distant. It makes me think of a white shirt, a shaded window, skin after a morning shower, and the clean greenness of bamboo. As it dries down, the edges soften, and a gentle woody-musk base remains. The sweetness is restrained, and it never becomes too heavy. It stays close to the skin, quietly maintaining a clean and gentle presence. On a man, Starwalker feels calm, intelligent, and slightly delicate. It is not a strong pheromone-type fragrance. It is the kind of scent that makes you think, while speaking to someone at close distance, “This person feels intelligent, deep, and comforting.” I think it is very suitable for the workplace. However, if someone wants a fragrance with strong sex appeal, energetic masculinity, or a glamorous presence, Starwalker may feel a little too subtle. On a woman, it becomes a transparent unisex fragrance that pairs beautifully with white shirts, navy, and deep green clothes. It is not a sweet feminine fragrance. Rather, it is very good when you want to create a cool, intelligent atmosphere. It gives a pleasant sense of distance and good manners, but it is not bland. Instead, it quietly enhances the wearer’s own character. For me, Starwalker is “a scent of quiet intelligence and morning air.” It is not flashy, but to those who notice it, it leaves a very pleasant and memorable impression. It has the freshness of a clean soapy scent, but with an elegant twist, and I like it very much. Notes for myself Sweetness: low Cleanliness: high Green quality: medium to high Masculinity: subtle to androgynous Unisex feel: high Season: spring, summer, autumn; morning to daytime Occasions: work, exhibitions, school visits, days when you want to feel intellectual and composed Caution: may feel too quiet for people who prefer stronger fragrances
Light musky and masculine with a unique edge from the bamboo accord I like it and a great addition to the collection
My current wear since yesterday. Yet another scent that brings me back down memory lane and to better times, sucks that the days are over but I still greatly enjoy it. Very easy wear, light clothing, casual, but still has a level of fancy to it. It's quite a solid 7.5/10.
Smells bamboo (aromatic green) at opening, later become cardboard and hardboard feeling is dominating.
I saw someone refer to this as the big brother of Voyage d’Hermes, and that’s just off. VdH has a base that is sharper and lighter; the base here is heavy, muted, weird, almost cloying. I wanted to like it, but I don't see how anyone can, really.
Listed notes on the bottle: Top notes: Pink pepper, Star Anise Heart notes: Sandalwood, cedarwood Base notes: Amber, Musk
Great value clean fresh and slightly aromatic. For the price, very refined and classy smelling..I think you can wear this all year round and office safe. Nobody else mentions this, but this to my nose is a more aromatic Burberry touch, especially on dry down. I prefer this over that. Not identical smelling, but in the same ball park.
Very fresh and nice, Perfect for hot weather. The notes really pop on this bottle.
One of the first scents I've bought. The opening is incredibly bamboo and fresh, like those little planters you find with the gel for the potting. The citrus is there, but its mostly a smack of bamboo, which I quite enjoy. It then calms down a bit into a musky, woody, almost rainy pine forest smell that's incredibly intimate. Smells like a nice nostalgic read in the spring/fall while it's raining.
¡Un aroma adictivo! Desconozco a qué huele el bambú pero si es así, es una maravilla. Fresco, limpio, fantástico para días calurosos. Ese tipo de aromas que te alegran el día. Si durase más sería perfecto. 9/10.
You can pick this up for under £30 in the UK. It's really good! Nobody else says this, but it reminds me a bit of Burberry touch - it has that same clean sweet freshness to it. I guess it's that laundry/fabric softener vibe people talk about. I think this is better than the Burberry, whilst doing a similar thing. It's fresher and slightly more spicy and leans more masculine as a result. Highly versatile, office safe - you could wear this on the beach, on a date or to the office and smell good!
First Montblanc Cologne. Loe it, last all day, clean office and every day use.
First Pass - Sharp, cold citrus. Faint whiffs of musk 2 Hours Later - Citrus has warmed, sweeter now 4 Hours Later - Clear citrus. Lemon. Sweeter still. A touch astringent. Hints of something I can’t quite place Overall - Starwalker (2005) is the big brother, and very likely the inspiration, for Voyage d’Hermes (2010) There are no grassy, soapy, or tea notes at the end of this fragrance (like Voyage). Here we have a faithful citrus scent from start to finish, that sweetens with time. More unisex than male ***Scents, like tastes, are subjective. Wear what you like***
Soft Citrous woody musk scent very good quality but it is generic and boring! Very discret, comfy and well ballanced. Fresh bamboo and citrous start, adding more wood and musk to harmonize well. creating a clean and comfy aura. An Every day fragrance, works very well for summer season Great deal for a cheap price! Nice quality as all fragrances from Montblanc Medium performance: around 6 hours longevity as discret sillage most of the time
Basic work or gym scent that does not project well and dies completely dies after about 4 hours. I would like it a lot more if it was stronger. Bamboo and orange notes mix well but they should be more pronounced. There are better options out there. $20 for a small bottle at rack stores. Update: The more I use this the more I like it. The Bamboo is addicting. Upgrading to Like , might be a love soon.
3/5 smells soft and weak, not bad but pretty boring
This fragrance is a prime example of a fragrance that is perfectly mid. It is a scent profile that is somewhat familiar, with just a little uniqueness brought out by the bamboo. It is not nuclear in performance, but it projects just enough for people to notice that you smell good. It doesn’t last very long, but it makes you smell the very least decent for a short period of time. Although it is heavily discounted now, I would not recommend this to anyone as there are just so many better fragrances out there right now. At its best, it is a decent gym and post-shower scent.
The opening here is magnificent, with the super zingy bergamot and uniquely herbal bamboo working with other aquatic notes to create a wonderfully fresh and lively accord. It's not really a blue marine kind of aquatic, but more of a green herbal one. When it dries down, it softens and mellows out thanks to the musk notes and some very subtle woods, all the while retaining some of the fresh zen-like feel from the ever-present bamboo. It's relaxing and very likable. The longevity isn't great, but neither is it bad for a scent of this nature. I can still smell it as a skin scent 6+ hours after application, though I'm also happy to refresh a morning application of it with a few more sprays in the afternoon. I got a 50ml bottle for $20 and at that price it's a gem. I wouldn't hesitate on this one.
Fragrance note #1 Montblanc Starwalker is one of the hidden gems in perfumery. Very well blended, gives a therapeutic vibe that no other scent have ever given to me. One of my favorite scents in my collection only down side is longevity. Scent 10/10 Sillage 7/10 Longevity 6/10
A nota de bambú realmente se destaca, o que dá ao perfume um discreto dulçor bastante agradável. É relaxante, como um cheiro de spa. Porém, num dia com temperatura acima de 25°C não dura mais do que 2-3 horas na pele.
Not a bad fragrance but not a great one. I also feel this is inferior to starwalker extreme which I also own. Starwalker extreme has a lot more personality, sillage, longevity, sweetness, dressy nuance etc... This OG starwalker is more of generic green freshie, reminds me of Guess Man EDT, the green one. Again, not a bad fragrance, I simply feel like these types of fragrances have been oversaturating the market since the early 2000s so you have better ones to choose from. If i'm picking a green freshie I would go with Herrera for men (tobacco emphasis) or CH 212 (grassy greens) personally.
A pretty "regular" but adequate daily freshie. I get compliments often. EDT is a little lacking but if you can touch it up throughout the day you are good. People hating on this have a terrible sense of smell. I like this. I literally just ran out and bought another bottle about 5 mins ago.......
This is only getting an okay because it's close enough to Davidoff Silver Shadow Altitude to make me happy for now. That being said, it's weaker in every way possible. That last reviewer has it right, smells like you're spraying on nothing but alcohol, but a few minutes later you might catch a whiff of something that reminds you of Silver Shadow Altitude and brings to mind good memories.
This frag confuses me and I wonder why it even still exists tbh. Probably because of the cool name and because we like Montblanc, but there really isn't much here with this one. Lots of alcohol on the spray with almost no accords behind it. Putting this on feels like a pointless endeavor. This frag should probably be put to rest, or at least highly reformulated to fit the cool name and marketing. Would not buy Edit: I am starting to understand this one more. My opinion is improving and I am better able to pick up on the accords each time I use. Interesting. Its a subtle fragrance for sure.
I met a guy few years back, he was from Portugal and his house was very humid. His clothes smelled like that , kind of like mold. I could not believe that he wore this perfume who amplified the mold smell as this too smelled like mold. Atrocious one.
