Can someone please tell me if there is a dupe for this perfume?!! Absolutely DIVINE. Intoxicating. Sexy fresh. Such an addictive fragrance.

There actually is still some "gourmand" left in this version of Angel. It's powdery and fresh but still beautifully sharp and potent with the red berries, pink pepper, and patchouli being in the spotlight. I've owned this scent for a while, but I'm just now able to detect the gourmand-praline side, which I usually only detected as the powderiness. But under the almost Vix Vapor Rub-like cloud from the patchouli and pink pepper, you can smell the soft, almost edible praline. It's not the type of gourmand that's popular today, as it's definitely not for everyone, but it's a beautiful fragrance. I love it. So, buy a mini bottle or sample before buying a full one. Pretty bottle with a magnetic cap, and it's refillable!

it has more in common with the original angel than with the 2019 version. the patchouli here is softer and takes a back seat. it's a more muted and toned-down version compared to the angel edp. beautiful

Got this in a mugler angel magic set and it just smells like a peed on carpet.. I like the modern edt more

This is honestly my favourite scent! I always got compliments when worn. Can someone tell me a fragrance that is similar as this has been discontinued. Devastated! Or if someone want to sell theirs PLEASE let me know..

@Missjojoh Agree, this bottle is the best of all those Angel bottles, that star-bottle is nice, that sword-bottle is nice, but this bottle you want to have bc it fits the best into a perfume collection, I try to get the miniature of this one, they are rare it seems.

I recently managed to get an almost full bottle of this on Ebay - I have the new edt and the edp but haven't had an opportunity to try this version (im a collector and I love the bottle so even if it was a dislike, well, I have the beautiful bottle 😆) All I can say is why oh why oh WHY was this discontinued?? I love the more recent edt but I like this one more, and now I don't want to use it as i have the fear of running out! Petition to bring this back!

it's like angel with the patchouli taking a backseat, you still smell it but not as prominently. you don't get that powdered cocoa scent that angel gives you, rather a bit nutty praline in its place. reminiscent of angel innocent, but way better imo. you can get this for such good prices on mercari/ebay its way more worth getting this than the current edt which is still nice but that just smells like ch good girl to me.

A very strong chocolate-patchouli scent. I don't find it sharp but the earthy notes with the sweetness make it very unique. The current edt cannot compare!

If Angel EDP is an entire county fairground, then Angel EDT is one particularly large and eye-catching candy apple stand in the midst of all the giddy fairground chaos. Its core is a bright, syrupy fruit note, muddled playfully together with vanillic praline, like a checker-pattern display of glossy red candy apples interspersed with sticky golden caramel ones. Meanwhile, beneath the gourmand, Angel's prominent patchouli base note evokes the funky, woodiness of musty hay and woodchips under foot. It's quite different from the EDP—much fruitier and brighter. It's a close cousin more than a direct sibling, and I find it a bit perplexing. The opening in particular has a vaguely mentholated-medicinal element, like fruity cough syrup, that I'm not sure I like. Yet something about it teases at my olfactory neurons like a naughty pixie sprite, making me always curious to catch another whiff.

Should never have been discontinued. The pink pepper makes this edt less cloying and slightly more androgynous/ complex than the original. For an edt the silliage and longevity are amazing. I’m lucky to still have some left as bought when I found they discontinuing. I am ALWAYS asked what I’m wearing when I wear this perfume. To me the newer edt smells too sweet/ generic.

This whole review is going to be full of unpopular opinions... I thought I would like this EDT more than I did. I am a big fan of Angel, I have tried all reformulations. Unpopular opinion: I honestly love the most recent version of Angel EDP the most... I still get the deep, rich, slightly dirty chocolate patchouli that I get from the older formulations, only more balanced out with what seems like a more prominent honey, melon and berry notes. I also feel like the vanilla is toned down, which is a plus for me as I'm not a fan of a strong vanilla base. I have bottles of Angel from 2001, 2015, 2019 and 2022, and the 2022 bottle gets the most use. Sadly, not everyone loves Angel as much as I do (people are weird). So sometimes a situation comes up in which I want to smell like my favorite fragrance, but I don't want to overwhelm people. So, I use the EDT. Here comes another unpopular opinion: I like the most recent (2019) Angel EDT version more... They are quite similar, but in the 2019 version they seem to have really amped-up the fruitiness. I get an amazing burst of berry/mandarin/apple that is softened by the praline and patchouli. The performance is also amazing and exactly what your would expect form a Mugler. I sprayed it on to go to an outdoor festival while wearing a denim jacket. When I took the same jacket off of the coat rack four weeks later it wafted the smell of Angel EDT in the air. The 2011 EDT feels more like a literal dilution of original Angel EDP with the patchouli almost completely removed from the equation. This actually makes it more office-friendly I guess. So there's that. Performance is also no where near the 2019 version. After a couple hours it turns into a skin scent and I actually start "craving" original Angel EDT, because by then the fragrance smells slightly... incomplete? I have a bottle of this EDT I am going to finish though because its still good for the purpose it serves for me. Which is being a light version of Angel for occasions where I will be in close proximity to people and feel Angel will be too strong. When I finish my current bottle, I am switching to the 2019 EDT.

I was given a tester of this recently and didn’t like the whiffs from the bottle, too sweet and cloying. Worked up the courage to try some yesterday. First it is sweet, bold and very strong. In a while it transforms into something earthy and spicy. Not bad but not for me, way too potent, too masculine, too mature. The longevity is great though, could smell it on my wrist when I woke up the next day.

This is the only version of ANGEL that doesn't make me wince! I picked up a sealed box I found randomly at an estate sale. I was intrigued because it said, "Thierry Mugler" on the packaging, instead of just the current MUGLER. This has a very delicate fruity opening and dries down to a fresh gourmand. Nice! A bit too sweet for my taste but not headache inducing or desperately loud like I find original ANGEL to be. Review of official vintage product, factory sealed, blind-buy.

WHY, why was this discontinued?! The new Angel eau de toilette doesn't even compare to the power, longetivity and sillage of the original Angel EDT.. I thought i was buying the original Angel EDT, i just grabbed the packaging and was so surprised to discover another bottle and fragrance. BRING BACK THE ORIGINAL ANGEL EDT

L'Oreal if you're passing by: put this perfume back on the market and sell it towards men, sales will go high. A really fresh, punchy, less sweet and more woody interpretation of Angel. It's a shame to have discontinued it. I also like the 2019 EDT, but you can feel the L'Oreal stamp, whereas this one you can feel the original Thierry Mugler/Clarins stamp. More original, ambiguous and creative, more THIERRY MUGLER. My nose picks up pink pepper, bergamot, red berries and cedar, making it really unisex but also the Angel AG touch of Patchouli Gourmand. But really light. This one is more an inspiration rather than a EDT version of the OG. The vibes of Angel OG are in the back, but more at the bottom like far and more things are in the front. I have back up bottles that I keep very preciously, and the bottle itself is really pretty. A little comet, a shooting star showing that the juice is a soft dreamy punch, also giving a more unisex look. It performs like an EDT, maybe a bit less but it's great on a sunny day or just after the shower.

I have an almost full bottle of this that I want to get rid of. Beautiful scent. I’m allergic to nuts & I had a reaction to it.

This perfume should be named Archangel because is the superior of all of the Angels. Delicate but spicy, sophisticated. Cannot believe they discontinued it, and I say this as an Angel Edt 2019 lover.

This is my favorite Angel flanker. I just got a sample. The opening is similar to the OG, the dry down more powdery, more patchouli, and it's a more soft/classy patchouli, less chocolatey. It seems like this one wasn't hugely popular so secondhand bottles are still affordable.

Opens full on OG Angel, but dries down into a beautiful stand alone masterpiece. Why was it discontinued? Why? Just why! Longevity and silage are both very strong. I love the 2019 version too. In fact, I much prefer the edt Angels in general to the edp. The Eau de Parfum is gorgeous, but it is so strong it gives me a headache and sadly I cannot wear it. I think this 2011 Eau de Toilette version is the queen of all Angel's. The comet bottle suits it so much because it's a once in a lifetime experience that not everyone will. Angel 2019 edt is a gentler, easier to wear version, suitable for daytime wear in an office setting. It allows you to blend in, and sometimes there are occasions when reluctantly we must. With 2011 Angel edt however, you will not blend in. You will glimmer unapologetically. I think as others have stated it is easily unisex. I would love to smell a man wearing this. Fantastic stuff and it's a crying shame it was discontinued. On the other hand, maybe it is a blessing because Clarins and L'oreal would have decimated it by now. If you manage to get your hands on a vintage bottle please treasure it.

Simply perfect. This perfume has an incredible sillage. There is no meeting point between this and the 2019 version...

This is spectacular! A gender-bender fragrance with its own personality, I feel it unisex, even more in the masculine side. Kind of masculine "Angel for women". This is NOT the regular Angel! It s a different fragrance. I consoder it the most unique in the women s line and I proudly wear it. The bottle also is very beautiful. There is nothing like this Comette. And so it was: a comette...because it s now gone. 🌠

Probably my most unique fragrance I've ever had (I just knew it's discontinued :[ ). I was looking for a vanilla scent with a twist back in 2015-2016. Smells manly at the beginning (heavy woody/aquatic) but the vanilla on the drydown is nice. Not overly sweet like typical vanilla frags.

this is a lot more wearable version of angel. although obviously iconic and historic, angel is just too much for the majority of the population. it smells pretty similar, just less standoffish. kind of confused why anybody neeeeeds to smell like pink pepper. the vanilla in the dry-down is nice though

I may never forgive Mugler for discontinuing this masterpiece. This original Angel Eau de Toilette is (or was *sniff*) the epitome of heaven, a one-of-a-kind scent that will not smell like anything else in the history of perfumes. The pink pepper infused with the classic Angel scent (which is my holy grail perfume) just gives the original Angel a softer and more polished approach. It’s definitely a safer and more everyday scent and I get compliments on it often. Why, Mugler? Why did you destroy this precious comet and succumb to a mega corporation’s decision on what they think is “better”? I’ve smelled the new EDT and it doesn’t come anywhere close to this baby. I’m so grateful I scoured online for refills of this gem or else waking up everyday may be a little more difficult. Excuse me while I hug my comet bottle a little tighter.

I like this. Much better than the new 2019 EDT. This 2011 EDT has the Angel DNA and it’s really effervescent. It’s uplifting. I can see why people are saying it’s unisex as it’s not as sweet as the original Angel EDP. But I don’t find it masculine. It’s really sparkling and does make me think of stars ✨. I think it works really well and can be good for any age. I find the new 2019 EDT too sweet and cloying aimed at a young age bracket.

I find this masculine without a hint of floral, it lasts the whole day without the knockout signature punch of the Parfum. the bottle is not easy to hold and spray, it should be listed as unisex
