Absinth

really nice i will say though it lacks in preformance... Alessandro Gualtieri does his amazing work again. I have blindbought many of his fragrances and this is another succesful blindbuy. The fragrance captures more than what the notes say. I do get a bitter green but thats only really in the opening and what you immediately smell. Extraits develop when it dry down and this starts to resemble some qualities of Amouage interlude. Not quite as smoky its a more green bitter earthy version and i heavily enjoy it like i do interlude.It also has a bit of sweetness on the dry down but its more of a earthy resinous subtle sweet. It does not have the best longevity i wore 2 sprays on my left hand and went out with my friends and to the gym and the whole time it stuck pretty close to the skin. In the first couple of hours it radiated to where even if my hand was not close to my nose at all i could still smell it. So the projection is good but it sits closer to the skin after 2 hours unlike most nasomattos which are projecting/longevity beasts. I feel like a good amount of people would like this i for sure love it.

Opening smells like celery. Then its something between coriander / carrot leaves / parsley laid on wormwood. Super nice, refreshing. If perfume leans sweet on you, it might smell ever so slightly artificial, but still very pleasant. On other skin compositions its absolute ace, very crisp and green

Regretfully the best wormwood I've yet to get my hands on. It's really outside my budget, but I just can't get this elsewhere.

I wasn't going to wear this today. But I'm so glad I did! This is what I mean when I say I am looking for true olfactory art. Every time I put Absinth on my body, I am taken on a slightly different trip. Exactly as the brand describes. At first, I thought it was a gimmick. Who can really do that anyway? And after a few days of wearing it, I still felt the same. But slowly something changes. You start to experience the different days in different ways. Culminating in a day like today. Where you are expecting one thing, and you get something different. A better version. It's like magic. Like a reconnection to the Earth. Which I'm sure was the point. Digging through the crates. And finding something priceless.

Smells earthy, with shades of dark green and little hints of sweetness. It’s passable for me, but not bottle worthy.

This scent isn't super strong at all, at least for the batch I have. I get a green grassy accord in this, amongst other notes. It's also got a bitter green aspect to it, with some sweetness. They balance quite nicely.

Way more wearable and less convoluted than Viride, a fragrance by the same perfumer. The opening definitely has a bitter-sweet grain liquor vibe. If you're part of the Encre Niore crowd, I would suggest trying this. I'll add more once I wear it once or twice more.

What an interesting fragrance. Being an extrait I thought it would be overpowering, it is not. Initial is a wave of green, mossy, spicy feeling with a hint of sweetness. I only went 2 sprays to get my initial feelings. During the dry down you get a sweet incense which then settles to very little projection. It's more of an intimate fragrance unless you do a number of sprays but it's a great dark green fragrance for summer.

Absinth was a disappointment for me. Based on the name, I expected something bold, aromatic, and herbal. However, on my skin it was barely detectable at all. All I got from it was a very faint, watered down herbal scent. On my boyfriend's skin it came across as straight up dill pickle. It was my first time experiencing the infamous dill pickle note, and unfortunately I can't say I enjoyed it.

Just imagine you walking in forest and its started raining and the fresh smells coms from wet wood and earth its so beautiful green spicy fresh ,very cute bottles as well i love this one and Fantomas also duro my favourite those bottles look awesome in my collection, everyone ask when they see my collection what are those nice little bottles

Each and every time different opening on that super green Absinth. Now getting smoke. There's one particular I guess mid debut version, when complexity gathers into utter positive uplift, been chasing that ever since.

green herbal spicy earthy smells like a damped forest.. i think If you want a softer fragrance that adds tiny bit of florals then i'd say go with Virdie as it is easier to wear too

Idk why but at first I thought it was another whiskey fragrance, maybe because of the similarity of the bottle with Baraonda. But after a good sniff, it’s a great coniferous smell if you like the smell of forest. Gives Encre Noire vibes. Not my type.

Smells very green and earthy - reminds me of the way beets smell 🫜 It isn’t an everyday wear, but I would say it smells of spring time when the air is still a bit cool and the ground is damp. I get notes of a vegetable or herb garden right after winter harvest or before a summer seed planting. To me it feels more nocturnal and dark rather than sunny day-time wear. Perfect for standing out at a nice dinner party or swanky cocktail lounge. Ironically, however, I don’t get any boozy vibes from Absinth. It isn’t heavy smelling nor over manufactured either. Seems familiar but unique at the same time. The longer it sits on the skin the more comforting and inviting it gets. Definitely a conversation piece if you want to smell like the good kind of dirty!

I sprayed this on myself at La Jete here in Vegas. I really liked it inside the Venetian resort where people were smoking but once I got into my car and then got home I realized this fragrance has a cigarette smoke note, which I really don't like at all. It was undetectable when there was actual cigarette smoke around me. At home, I tested it vs. Absinthe by Franck Boclet, from my collection, and I prefer the Boclet.

This fragrance is absolutely beautiful. Its a really nice medicinal-greenery smell, sort of chinese medshoppy if that makes any sense, straight forest smell. The vetiver shines beautifully through this scent profile and its something I feel leans very niche and artsy yet it can be pulled off in many scenarios. To me it leans masculine but I can see women pull this fragrance off as well. Probably one of my favorite scents of all time.

shockingly, it was sorta mass appealing. green, yes, but i got some woody notes that cut it up. honestly good and wearable.

This creation is fairly straightforward…a rooty vetiver with some medicinal green facets accompanying alongside…smells like a more niche Guerlain Vetiver Parfum…doesn’t last long

I absolutely love this. It's fresh vetiver but mysterious, intriguing & complex. I compared it with headspace absinth. But after 1 hour headspace is just fresh soap, nothing more or less. Nasamotto leaves this earthy base, a bit leathery even a bit sweet yet spicy peppery.

Absinth repels and fascinates me at the same time. It's a dark, bitter herbal with a leathery nuance. It feels strong and primeval, even dangerous. This is absinthe as the mugwort plant, not the spirit, by the way — so don't expect anything boozy. I love green fragrances with a touch of bitterness and artemisia notes, but this is too much for me to wear, personally. It would really suit a man with the right personality, though; I imagine it on someone serious and mature, with a stoic, grounded presence, maybe a little broody.

I really like this. Its green, bitter, crisp and clean. To me it seems like the essence of focus and logic. This isnt for date night. It's for taking a college entrance exam or presenting a case before a judge

I sampled this and Fantomas. I was initially completely convinced by Fantomas, but now I'm not sure if I would prefer this. These two scents have surprisingly much in common, but while Fantomas dries down to deep fruity notes, Absinth shines, well clearly as an absinthe scent. I imagined this to be more masculine, but this is surprisingly sweet and attractive. There is no that masculine cedar aromatic mouthfeel, no hard leather, and the greenness of this is extremely well executed. I don't think of grass, nor salad, but rather that slightly bitter herbiness of absinthe, resting on a beautiful fresh woody vetiver. The scent bubble is strong and deep, yet the scent opens beautifully, and doesn't become stuffy or overwhelming, not even when smelled up close. This is a completely unique manly, but I think surprisingly safe choice, also for those who like feminine scents. Maybe I need both.

One of my favorite scents of all time. It's green and herbal but somehow also gothic and mysterious. Melancholic but hopeful. Like an expensive bottle of absinth you'd save for a cold, dark night, reminiscing about spring. This is perfection all throughout.

I wanted so badly for this to smell good. It is too musky and synthetic. It almost smells like mothballs. 2/10

Full-power wormwood... yum! I can’t help but compare it to Viride, but this one leans much more toward earthy vetiver and lacks the animalic edge; it’s far more herbal instead. As it dries down, vetiver completely takes the wheel. So while it still deserves the “witch doctor” vibe, it could just as easily be the scent of the Ents; forest-born, dark, green, and deep. Gualtieri #2 – 3D Sweet Absinth Absinth is one of the cooler notes in perfumery, literally and figuratively. The note provides a unique experience without coming across as an experimental shtick. There is one drawback to it tho, atleast from my limited experience. Its one of those notes that only really fit a single mold, that of an aromatic-herbal scent with slight alcoholic and astringent nouances, usually complimented with woody or earthy accords. Come to think of it, the note of absinth itself is the mold that actually funnels the composition down a particular path. Nasomatto’s Absinth manages to escape this “fate” or trope by dressing the note up in a completly different way. Make no mistake, absinth is there from start to finish, boldly claiming the “throne” of this composition. What makes it special and twists it here is a candied sweetness that is intertwined with the absinth and manages to almost “commercialise” the perfume, yet the absinth by its nature prevents it from becoming ordinary or bland. Not only that, the sweetness also “fills in” the scent, giving a 3D body to the perfume. As the scent moves into the middle and drydown stage, a mentholated aspect emerges that naturally makes me think of cocktails, but a hyper-sweetened, non alcoholic cocktail. The sweetness becomes concentrated, sucrose-heavy, similarly to the sweetness of beetroot. I find myself conflicted because nothing in the notes displayed here on fragrantica would point at this sort of sweetness, or any for that matter. I expected uniqueness from Nasomatto perfumes but also a degree of, lets call it “unpleasant quirkyness”. If Fantomas was intriguing but rather unwearable and definetly not something i would want a bottle of, Absinth would see plenty of use. Its a perfume that is very pleasant and mass appealing yet retains enough uniqueness to keep people on their toes. This is one of those perfumes that in my opinion has a low chance of being perceived as unpleasant even by the uninitiated public but still raise eyebrows in a positive way.

Smells like wasabi in a good way

just picked up absinth by the house of nasomatto, my first from them. was expecting more of a earthy green to be completely honest but instead what i got was more of a foresty green, almost resinous. when people said it had a medicinal green to it i didn’t really understand, but now i do. it’s almost like a piney-woody vicks scent mixed with the freshness of vetiver. definitely gives off chinese medicine shop vibes which i think is in theme with the “hysteria” focus on the fragrance. the interesting thing i noticed, however, is its likeness to cape heartache by imaginary authors. i think it’s mainly from the woody accord, but i can’t tell exactly what it is. it as if they both have the same DNA but cape heartache goes more in the sweet mountain air direction. definitely due to the strawberry and fir notes. overall, 8.5/10 will definitely be wearing this this winter in turn with green irish tweed and cape heartache. a very realistic and dark-ish green fragrance.

I like this profile. Aromatics are really growing on me. Headspace Absinthe is still my favorite "Absinthe" so far. Thr problem with this is the performance. I bought Black Afgano (highest cost per ouce, that I own) because it's amazing. Scent and performance. I was hoping for more with this. I barely had 3 hours of enjoyment. Not worth it, IMO. I am sure it works for some, just not for me. I will stick with Headspace if I ever decide to purchase it.

Great green structure, of course one's getting clever, getting seasoned, refined when in comes to signed by Gualtieri. I get milky greens, not even creamy strate up milk. Not as much as in Memoir man, but that way. And other times get more heavy Mint presence. Get the warmness pretty much right away, opening on one puff very deep and biiter. Noticed that on most Nasomattos it's different scent experiences upon how many sprays applied, specially between one and two, and yes, can spray a whole lot, it gets more and more adventuous. Has a particular positive jubilee accord from time to time, always try to catch that blowing up from the boldness. And sure enough dry down switches lane completly, settling down an amazing story like scenario.
