Pardon

I was expecting a much more intense oud, but in reality this feels more like a patchouli-driven fragrance. It opens dark green, herbal, and almost medicinal, before gradually becoming sweeter and taking on a nearly chocolate-like quality. The oud is definitely present, but rather than sitting heavily in the base, it is seamlessly integrated throughout the entire composition. Elegant, complex, and perfectly suited to autumn and winter.

Nasomatto Pardon Man, I was honestly disappointed with this one. I feel like I keep trying to convince myself to like it, but I just can’t which is disappointing because I enjoy a lot of Nasomatto fragrances and already own Black Afgano, Duro and Baraonda. For me, Pardon is just a little weak and boring. I don’t really understand the hype. I’ve even worn it on nights out and found myself regretting it, wishing I had chosen something else instead. I hate to say it, but right now I’d rate it 6.5/10. Maybe I need to give it more wear and try it in different seasons before making my final judgment.

I like this, but ultimately this is just a patchouli scent. I don’t get dark chocolate and certainly not oud…it’s a strong dose of earthy, chocolaty, and camphorus patchouli. This pretty much smells just like Psychedelique by Jovoy or a toned down version of Patchouly by Profumum Roma. I like it, but it’s just a little too redundant for me and my collection. 7.8/10.

Dark oud and patchouli with a dense dark chocolate note which is not overly sweet or gourmand and has a touch of florals mostly in the opening. I don't find this simular to L'Instant L'Homme at all even tho it is cacao and patchouli focused. That is like an unique year-round office fragrance to me, much lighter and airier.

This fragrance just made me realize that I should never ever moving forward let myself be influenced by other people’s reviews on here. I cannot say one single thing negative about this fragrance because there isn’t one.

This isn't your ordinary fragrance at all. While it might be summertime, its about 68 in my house which is perfect for this rich and decadent fragrance. Its a chococlately oud thats a little medicinal at the top. Its rather strong and obnoxious, just like the brand. An hour in, the medicinal top fades and you are left with a strong, chocolately patchouli. The cinnamon has been there for the entire ride is still prevalent. I may have mistaken patchouli for oud in the top. I like it but dont love it. I respect its originality. 8.25

Smells similar to Boccanera in my opinion, powdery chocolate with slightly smoky woodiness. Somehow I smell it faintly? Maybe an issue in concentration or newer batches?

I love Black Afgano, but this one not so much. I mean, it's still very good, but where is the scent? I have to dive my nose deep inside my hand to get a whiff... On the other hand, Black Afgano smells so deep, so nice, so much. Two different worlds, if you ask me.

It has the same type of wood note as black afgano, but more sober and more versatile.

maybe my sample was just bad but where yall getting chocolate from? this reminds me of a Japanese forest and being inside a wooden temple or something, I don't really like it

My Fathers business partner wore a scent in the 60's through 90's, it was the most elegant patchouli scent and he kept it a secret for decades. About 3 years before he passed, he revealed that mesmerizing fragrance: Gentleman (the OG) from Givenchy. It became my signature fragrance for years; however, I felt that I never quite "captured" his smell and eventually moved on to other fragrances until this hit my nose: It transported me back in time; emotions flooded me and it brought me to the brink of tears. What a gem and what a genious behind it. Graccie Sre Alessandro!

This smells crazy good. It's certainly more masculine but not in an 'alpha daddy' way. I think a woman could also wear this, if it's your thing. It's elegant and a bit mature as well.

Beautiful patchouli with the perfect amount of sweetness and a healthy dose of oud. Just fantastic. I can understand the LIDG comparison but only in the deep dry down for me. Before that, there is more oud and sweetness.

Chocolatey patchouli(which I get but not listed here) with beginner friendly oud, made more creamy with sandalwood. Potent stuff!!

hear me out. this is good, very inviting, very unique. what i have found with gualtieri is that all his perfumes, and the notes inside are very hard to identify. this is a green fragrance. people say brown, chocolate, woods etc, this is uplifting a little sharp, obv all these are smooth as hell, but youll understand. it is elegant, it is very dialled back, do not expect so many things in ur face, its calm, dialled back and lets time identify what the fragrance is. the liquid is literally green, it is a green scent, but defnitely dark green, its not foresty, it is just an uplifting serious scent. it is green yes but the dark chocolate is reallty htere to me itd be hard to name if i didnt know that was a note, but once u know u recognise it instantly it is beautiful, it is a spicy scent, nothign crazy. spicy, green, bitter, woody, floral, theres so much going on and nothing at the same times, so chilled and dialled back. very intruiging, very sophisticated, almost unbothered, it just is what it is. man i love this shit more and more. i actually understand it now, they really did what they said, this is the sophisticated man, duro is the masculine male, this when it explodes. it is what it is. and i dotn mean that by shit happens and u js gotta deal with it. i mean this is, what it is, thats it, it doesnt care about u or what u want, or are trying to do, it exists.

I just got sample after buying blamage,I just love it.very elegant scent and gets better and better when Dries Down,I'm against dilemma now my duro is almost gone and can't decide if I should buy Pardon or Duro again but I assume gonna get both.expensive but can't fight urge to have it.I love how Duro makes me feel but I love scent of Pardon more it's just too elegant.<3

This is a patchouli bomb and gives elderly man vibes. The mature aura is probably due to its strong resemblance to the original (70's) Givenchy Gentleman but that's probably the nuclear patchouli that overwhelms it's composition. So if you want to smell like a hippie with one foot in the grave than you'll love this fragrance. Def not a blind buy.

Well… pardon me indeed. From the very start: dark, chocolatey patchouli — smooth and rich. Initially, there’s a wave of dark, animalic oud, the kind people love to call “barnyardy.” It catches you off guard, but that dirtiness doesn’t last long. Underneath all that darkness, there’s something else going on — soft yet bright white florals quietly sitting in the background. It’s actually a really nice contrast once you tune into it. This is only my second Nasomatto after Black Afgano, so I was bracing for impact. Black Afgano goes full beast mode, but Pardon is surprisingly chill. It doesn’t shout, but it’s not weak either — just smooth, controlled, and very wearable. As it dries down, everything softens. The rough edges fade, and it turns into a dusty, cocoa-powdery patchouli resting on a creamy sandalwood- and oud-driven woody base. It stays dark, but in a refined, polished way. It walks a nice line — not too sweet, not too earthy. Just elegant, slightly mysterious, and easy to wear. A dark scent with manners — almost like a “pardon” for not being as challenging as some might expect from Nasomatto.

Idk where to start ... First of all, I wear Pardon since 6 months now. So I really waited to fully understand this perfume before making a review. To my nose, Pardon's opening is an earthy and vegetal flower. It gives a very deep, wet and dark atmoshpere (in an organic way). But it doesnt becomes "dirty" like some other "forest" perfumes can do, it stay very very classy. Then Pardon's dry down is a powdery and spicy patchouli, that create this emblematic chocolate note. The Oud that is in there is probably a synthetic, but you dont wear Pardon for his oud note anyway. I assume that he's only used to amplify the deep and earthy DNA of the Patchouli. Who would be Pardon as a character ? A very classy secret agent in his fifties. It embodies an indomitable and sensual maturity. That's Pardon !! Im probably not very objective as its one of my favorite perfume of all time, but I can only recommend you to try this masterpiece when you have the occasion. Ofc take the time to try it on skin multiple time because (like every Gualtieri's creation) it can take time before you start to enjoy it. 10/10 imo

You can clearly smell bitter chocolate and oud. It’s a spicy and elegant perfume. I think it would suit men better, it has a mature feel. Its longevity will probably last you around 3 days.

I am confident the notes are incorrect, personally I think this is Oud, cyrpiol oil, vetiver and patchouli with a possible cannabis or eucalyptus note - I find this very similar if not the same to Patchouli Absolu by Tom Ford - identical to my nose. I’m surprised how many people have taken the notes literal proof considering the notes have never been revealed by the perfumer. It’s also very close to Hindu Grass just without the greener elements, this is literally earthy green and not as interesting as the notes suggest. But overall it’s ok.

Pretty much a dead ringer for Tenore. Heavy wood and booze. Smells pretty decent but redundant to Tenore.

The notes for this seem way off, I know Nasomatto doesn't release the notes for their fragrances, but to me this seems to be a primarily patchouli fragrance.

I used to love this one, but my tastes changed. I’m selling my bottle. I got it in 2019. Very macerated. I also have a few discontinued Serge Lutens I’m selling . Need to declutter.

Smells like Byredo Oud Immortal’s older brother/sister To me the notes listed are a little messy as I can’t quite pick out any individual note upon smelling this fragrance, to me it’s sweet florals with sharp dry woods with a slight chocolate and Oud dry down, the opening is about 85% similar to that of Oud immortal, this I what I’d think Byredo would do if they added Oud Immortal into their absolu or night veils line. Another fragrance on my radar for spring and summer as I’m seeing it pop up on discounters at somewhat of a reasonable price for a 30ml. On my skin I get around 10-12 hours 6-8 working, with a moderate projection for around 4 hours Probably my fav nasomatto perfume closely followed by nudiflorum, stumped on which one I’ll pick up but I might just lean more towards pardon.

Smells like an old library

I love Nasomatto's range, but any fragrance by Nasomatto turns weak on me, compared to its Orto Parisi counterparts. It seems as if they are watered-down examples of Orto Parisi- on my skin. I have this experience with a lot of fragrances. 😐

Starts off with a strong bitter cocoa smell with a very present patcholi kick and it's LOVELY. Then something happens, something terrible: these dark stinky charred woods get in and they ruin the fragrance. What a pity. Could have been great.

Oud and bitter dark chocolate, Musk and even more chocolate as it progresses; white florals are present. Drydown is reminiscent of Viride due to the smoky tobacco and woods 8.5/10

i dont get any dark chocolate i get sweet floral (magnolia) woods, and tonka bean. smells like sweet wood if such a thing existed. if clean, luxury vinyl planks had a scent i think it would smell like this. note: dry down is more of a masculine oud, scent for mature men; courthouse/lawyer/school president vibes. pinstripe suit vibes. its definitely not my vibe but the scent itself is pleasant. reminds me of memoirs of a trespasser by imaginary authors.
