Refreshing citrus ice tea. Basically the only fragrance I can stand in this unbearable heat.

I just purchased this fragrance because I enjoy tea scents. This was a blind buy for me. I was a bit scared that it would smell similar to Molecule 01 + Black Tea or Miller Harris Tea Tonique Extrait (which I already have) but this one is very citrus forward in comparison. There definitely is a tea note in the background, but I would label this as a citrus scent for sure. I like it! Will layer this with a vanilla scent some time cause I think that would work pretty well.

beautiful tea fragrance, one of the few my mom likes from my collection. the opening smells like sharp fresh grass which i honestly dont dislike.

Wonderfully blended notes-symphony of elegant sophisticated freshness. Beautiful and refreshing airy sillage and great longevity. Great in summer heat and high seasonal and occasions versatility. My favourite fresh scent profile. Worth every penny.

The open is very fresh and spicy. I get a strong, slightly bitter citrus, with a pleasant green, almost pine-like note. It is a little harsh. Once the citrus mellows a bit, the tea note shines through and there is a faint sweetness to it. It becomes this lovely fresh/clean/soapy/citrus and tea scent.

Personally I really like this fragrance. It opens with fresh bergamot with light tea in the background, almost akin to jasmine tea. Over the next few hours it matures, the bergamot becomes orange and the tea becomes an airy oolong tea (not as smoky as most other interpretations of the note). After about six hours it settles into fresh fig and musk skin scent. This fragrance has excellent performance and projection and is one of the most unisex fragrances I own (aka I gave the decant to my mom and now its her signature scent).

Smells like a beautiful 5-star hotel lobby in East Asia. I've been to some great hotels in S Korea and Japan, and have smelt something similar to wu long cha permeating in the air as i check in. It's really, really great. I'm very much so partial to tea fragrances, so wu long cha is right up my alley. For the life of me, I CANNOT understand how people are getting a "lemon cleaner" smell from this. I really don't. You want nasty lemon cleaner? Go smell the opening of club de nuit intense man edt. THAT is lemon cleaner. Not this. Wu long cha is a beautiful, citrusy and tea fragrance. Performance is really impressive for what is supposed to be a freshie. It radiates off of my skin for 3hrs or so, and then calms down into a calming skin scent for another 8hrs or so. I can still smell it even after a shower. This is a must have in your collection-- tea fan or not. If not, I'd at least give it a try.

very lovely parfume. uplifting mood booster, clean vibe. i hate alot of tea parfumes, but this one changes and gets it just right. for me as a citrus hater, and as a warm spicy love. this earned a special spot in my collection.

Gorgeous tea fragrance! I tested a decant of it and my nose immediatelt took me back to 2003 when I used to wear Bath and Body Works White Tea and Ginger. Same scent, just in a perfume. If you loved that discontinued scent- this will definitely fill that gap.

A scent that shines under the sun and in the heat . it projects even more with direct sunlight and sweat ! i hated it at the begining but now its my outdoor /day time scent .

I adore tea, but unfortunately, this one smells like a grandmother’s hairspray. Musky powdery and slightly green aromatic. While the notes suggest citrus, there’s not much of it. You can detect a hint of fig and lemon, but the blend is so well-executed that it’s difficult to nitpick. I’m not a huge fan 6/10

First of all this is a very strong scent, like I put the testing strip in my pockets, and I could smell it through the clothes. After putting one hand into the pocket, my hand smells strongly of this scent. This is obviously a very pleasant tea scent and more realistic than others. It's very surprising how popular this fragrance is among the western consumers. I would say this does not capture the true richness of actual Oolong tea. However, it's rare that a brand can do that so Nishane had done a pretty good job comparatively.

I loved this! What a surprise and delight. Take Jo Malone’s Orange Blossom, fig it up, make it sexier and bolder and bam: fresh clean sharp bergamot at the start mellows to a somehow even cleaner fig. I cannot get enough.

I really wished I liked this fragrance. I got the 50ml after getting an INCREDIBLE dry down of it after hitting by the store. But the more I smelt it, the more it reminded me of lemon essential oil bug spray. Now I just can't get it out of my head. The dry down is still great, but you have to deal with smelling like you're covered in bug spray for 3 hours. I wouldn't say it's good for the office. Get something less sharp. Try the X one too, and don't blind buy this. 6.5/10

The fresh lemon ice tea scent of my summer dreams

Not really oolong but still nice. Wūlóng Chá opens with a zesty, acidic (screechy and sour to some) bergamot, quieter orange and mandarin, and the cheerful green of litsea cubeba (laurel family), whose lemongrass-like brightness is a great partner for the bergamot. At its heart is the tea, softened by the creaminess of fig in the base. Some note this as reading more green tea than oolong, and I agree. It lacks the cozy earthiness of oolong, and any clear tea identity is obscured by the grassy citrus, which sticks around. Theoretically there is nutmeg, which I don’t get at all. As it dries down, a sheer musk anchors or fixes the citrus/herbal/tea situation (smells kind of like basil in the drydown on me…), preserving it rather than presenting a new experience. This is an unsweetened, undoctored affair, no cream or sugar here, and this to me, along with the simplicity, is what makes it modern. It gets soapy/cleaner-ey to some, which makes sense as musks are in so many detergents and cleaning products. It is spare but, other than not being very oolong-esque, clear in its core concept. I suspect that this restraint is why Wūlóng Chá has become a reference for tea fragrances. I appreciate the concept even more than the fragrance itself; which is a lovely (especially in warm weather) scent that I am happy to sample but don’t need to own. I wish the fig were more prominent, maybe. I wish the oolong note was distinct. I get excited when I see nutmeg in notes, and disappointed when it is nowhere in sight. That said, if any of those changes were made, it would be a sweeter, spicier, creamier thing, and I can just hunt for that profile instead of asking Wūlóng Chá to be something it’s not. It turns out, I’d rather have chai. Longevity: good for a fresh citrus scent Projection: sits close to the skin on me. Sillage: negligible. Price: $$. $260 for 50ml (~$5/ml) as of this writing but you can often find it for less. I would love a room to smell like this. A luxury boutique hotel or spa would be lucky to smell like this. It’s reminding me of the bright herbal freshness of some of Guerlain’s Aqua Allegoria fragrances. I would say this is for those who crave a quiet, calm fragrance that doesn’t feel ‘perfumey’. They wear fresh, green fragrances for their own enjoyment. They have an herb garden, maybe. They like all manner of tea.

A magical blast of bergamot and tea! Totally unisex , so refreshing, so zesty. Love it! Fantastic perfume, if you like zesty tea notes, this is your cup of tea ( pun intended ) reminds me of Nicolai Fig tea, but sweeter and more bergamot. A lot of bergamot and tea!

Smells like sweet iced tea with lemon and honey . The quality , longevity, and silage are excellent and Im shocked a freshie like this has the longevity it does! I’m actually curious to see what Wulong Cha X has to offer. I personally love tea scents and this is really good alone or layered with other fresh tea scents like EA Green Tea or Thé Matcha 26. After my evening shower I layered this with VS Pear Glacé body cream and a Thé Matcha 26 inspired body oil and it smells incredible. I had purchased a 10ml decant when the weather was still chilly a few months back so I hadn’t really been wearing it until that big heatwave first hit and it was then that I purchased a full bottle because I know this decant won’t last too long since I’m utterly enamored with this fragrance.

A beautiful floral citrus, much more floral than citrus though. Much more. I instantly disagree that this fragrance is unisex; it leans sharply towards feminine. Quality seems very high, I bet this lasts for ages. Citrus isn't what I would want for a men's fragrance. Feels like it would lean a it 'older' as a women's fragrance. Not a winner for me, but a good showing for Nishane.

It’s very strong and harsh. I doesn’t smell natural like a lot of comments claim, it’s rather synthetic and bitter

this smells nothing like wulong tea. a very simple, somewhat flat and uninspiring citrus scent which obviously evaporates and it settles to even more uninspiring rose.

This perfume is undeniably of excellent quality. It’s a green tea fragrance, and while many may not agree with my take, I’m not here to soften my opinion. Wulong Cha feels fresh, clean, and ethereal—qualities that can make it very appealing. It’s always tricky to describe the smell of tea, because drinking tea doesn’t smell the way it tastes. Still, this is a pleasant fragrance that many people enjoy. However, at times, I get a detergent-like sensation from it, perhaps due to the musk. It reminds me of freshly washed clothes, which doesn’t fully convince me. Even though I enjoy the tea note, I find that Thé Noir by Le Labo captures a tea accord in a much more delicious way, beautifully paired with fig. In contrast, Wulong Cha leans toward a soapy, laundry-like vibe. It’s still a rich fragrance, and it has earned me compliments, but personally, it hasn’t completely won me over.

I fall for Wulong Cha on first spray. Love the brightness of the citrus and the freshness. However, the scent and accords are not unique, there are too many alternatives at way more affordable cost. So overall this is a scnet that I love but don't love enough to pay for.

Wish I loved this. I can't really even smell the citrus, to me, it smells exactly like a high-end luxury spa. It's nice but there’s something very corporate about it. Like it wouldn’t be a cosy little spa. It’s a boutique chain. Feels like a scent for a place and not a person 5.5/0

Fresh, green, herbal, citrus. Has a slightly soapy aspect that’s not overwhelming- (more so what your skin smells like fresh out of the shower) The tea is realistic and blended beautifully. It’s giving meditative, luxurious, and clean. I really like this.

I am skeptical of around half of the "smells likes" in Fragrantica public reviews because some noses can make too-general comparisons for those of us seeking specificity. For example, many folks below cite "grass" as a note they smell in Wulong Cha, but that is quite far away (in my nose's opinion) from "herbs" and "plant leaves" — more accurate. It’s my turn to make a couple of lousy comparisons because I lack references in this realm (tea, green, fig). The brain firstly goes to Nishane Papilifeko and Xerjoff Uden. Those fragrances are classifiable as “freshies.” A type of fruity-ness and a secondary green-ness lie in those particular blends. Wulong Cha is not really a freshie (my lousy first reference), but it does have the citrus and a strong green cleanliness, so it took me to the others. The brain secondly goes to Jovoy's La Liturgie des Heures, which I loved so much I went in for a full bottle. It has a very calming psychological effect when worn — also with a bit of citrus. I got the same effect while applying Wulong Cha. So this comparison has more to do with psychology than notes (lousy other reference). Association-wise, it takes me back to being at my grandmother's home. I do not know for certain what caused that scent from the 1970s and 1980s. The early formulation of Irish Spring soap? The plants, earth, and newspapers kept in the upstairs bedroom? Mothballs? A mix? It is good quality and interesting, which must have helped its long-term success and its “X” successor. Leans feminine. Alternative one-sentence summary: Somewhere between the plants in a garden centre and a Crabtree & Evelyn shop.

This smells like a quieter (not bright) citric-fresh scent that has specific greenness in it, some sort of tea perhaps as the name suggests. Wonderful smell overall!
