Don't believe the hype
I am someone who really struggles with many fresh scents, and this was no exeption. I really like the scent itself, it's beautiful, refreshing, unisex, bright and spa-like. But on me, it seems to lay on me instead of melting into my skin. It just disagrees with me and it doesn't calm down, instead it causes me a headache. That's not a fault of the perfume itself though, just something in my bodychemistry sadly!
Fresh green and grassy with a hint of white florals, that's perfectly blended together with rich tea and some fig in the drydown. Beautiful for warmer weather.
Very realistic inoffensive tea.
The scent itself is a basic, green tea scent. Elizabeth Arden - Green Tea fragrance smells %90 the same but it lasts 2 hours. This one lasts around 6-8 hours but the projection is very low. The scent it self, due to the nature of green tea, smells feminine and floral. IF you are a big fan of green tea, it might be a good choice, but, I don't think this is worth its price tag, considering how simple it is.
Wulong Cha X is elegant, polished and extremely easy to wear. It has that sophisticated luxury hotel and spa feeling, with tea, citrus and soft florals creating something clean, calm and expensive-smelling. For office wear, daytime use or warmer weather, it works effortlessly. But the more I wear it, the more I feel that it smooths out too much of what made the original Wulong Cha special. The original has more punch. The citrus feels brighter, the tea feels sharper, and in hot weather it has that refreshing impact that makes it genuinely addictive. Wulong Cha X is softer and more refined, but also less exciting. For me, it also leans slightly feminine, mainly because of the gentler floral character and the way the whole composition feels more rounded. There is nothing wrong with the fragrance itself. It smells high quality, sophisticated and very well put together. The problem is redundancy. If I already have the original, I don’t really see a strong reason to own both. The X version feels more like a smoother reinterpretation than a genuinely different fragrance. And at this price point, that becomes difficult to justify. Beautiful fragrance. But for me, the original has more personality.
I really enjoy the citruses + magnolia + tea combo. It is a lot more 'soapy' compared to the OG. It is not soapy like LVs imagination "luxury handsoap" on top of calming tea with citrus on top. It is more of a 'my wife just came out of the shower after shampooing her hair' kind of soapy on top of tea with citrus on top. Perhaps that's where the feminine leaning aspect come from. But yeah, it has white magnolia floral side to it, which some would say it is feminine. Some day it smells waxy or aquatic even. I would like to disagree... To me Magnolia is just a white, clean and citrusy flower type of scent. I personally like it. It is unisex to me. If you enjoy tea, soapy and citrusy combination youll like this. Unisex
This is a delightful fragrance. Agree that it's a bit more floral than the original. It's playful, and delightful. Not overpowering, but exotic. This is a true delight, and the one I get the most complimented on. Absolutely unisex, so if you prefer older, overpowering, male, amber fragrances, this probably isn't for you. If you are into more niche, tea and citrus, modern ones, buy this. I don't think you'll regret it.
I own a full bottle of the OG and a sample of X. Imagine the original Wulong Cha but remove the sharp grass and add a combination of white florals and bergamot. Overall smoother and more floral than the OG, I can see myself getting a full bottle soon.
@dracoave both the OG and X are Extraits
Feminine, basic green tea and white florals with a lemony opening. Thankfully, I bought a decant and didn’t blind buy.
If you do not enjoy tea fragrances, this is not for you. With that being said, I have had the luxury of getting my nose on the original wulong cha and I loved it. The reason I went for the extrait version is because I was hoping for a little more depth and that’s exactly what I got. It’s a bright, citrusy, hyper realistic green tea and floral bomb. There is some nice, subtle sweetness and a calm musk and woody fig in the base. I’ve been dealing with a lot health wise lately and fragrances have been a way for me to keep me going. I’m praying that everything is figured out soon so that by the time spring rolls around, I have a new scent to add to my rotation.
My God this is gorgeous, might be slightly more feminine but definitely works for men. You can't get enough of it
Citrus and magnolia... Fresh bouquet of flowers. Incredible. Perfectly sweet and modern. And complex.
TLDR: I like the opening of this less than the original, but I prefer the mid & base here. First sniffs: Opening not quite as good as the original somehow. Just personal preference. The mix of citruses is actually nice though, and I faintly smell the yuzu specifically, but idk something about it falls flatter for me than the original's opening (still a better opening than most perfumes imo! But the original's opening was literally great.) 2 hrs in: it's still not too heavy of a scent, I think because of the white florals. I like the mids here a lot more than the original. 5.5 hrs in: still faintly there, lingering. 8.5 hrs in: barely detectable musk, which is impressive longevity on unmoisturized dry skin.
I really like this one. The fig dry down is really nice. I find it overall sweeter than OG. Now that I have finished this decant, I may order a travel spray for continued testing. Eventually, it may turn into a bottle in my collection. Good job, Nishane.
This and the original are nice and you do catch some nice floral/citrus tea notes in the air for the first hour or so. On my skin the og is very citrusy and that green fig note is definitely pushing though in the base, with this the opening is super floral then dries down very similar to the og. This does outperform the original though and is a bit more well rounded overall. I wish the tea notes were more present and a little bit deeper. Overall the hype doesn't quite translate for me considering the way people glaze these.
A floral and green, almost vegetal opening, drying down to a soapy green and clean profile, reminding me of an expensive hotel lobby. Performance is pretty decent for what its doing.
A beautiful and enchanting fragrance.
SPRAYED 12 TIMES NECK AND CLOTHES and 1 hour later the two people I was hanging out with me said they didn't smell anything after asking them how is my fragrance. what is this trash performance??? how is this possible Nishane?? can ANYONE explain??
Save your money and buy Elizabeth arden
Out of the hundreds of fragrances I’ve tried, I’d easily place this in my top 15. Begins from where the og ends, and a much better one despite how good the original is. The dominant note is black tea with very subtle sweetness. It’s a very light fragrance, but citrus is not its main character. Everything is soft and understated except for the black tea, which clearly takes center stage. Black tea, light citrus, a soft musk layer, and faint green nuances. Perfect 10/10
Wulong Cha X is very similar to Wulong Cha, except the opening is much more smooth. The Pine like note is gone, leaving a smooth and sweet citrus. The soapiness, that was prominent in the original for me, is not as present in this iteration. The citrus starts to mellow and a gorgeous floral note appears. Such a calm and refreshing scent profile. Longevity and projection are not as strong as the OG. I'd wear this year round on calm days off.
A wonderful green tea/citrus freshy with beast mode longevity. Almost feels like it should be some kind of "sport" flanker it is so refreshing.
A little bit sweeter than the original
The absolute most beautiful green tea scent. Intoxicating. The musk & fig in the base hold it down; the green tea, bergamot and yuzu at the top make it soar. A Nishane fave that will always be in my collection.
Beautiful citrus tea with a smooth drydown that somehow stays bright. It’s kind of pricey though.
Unfortunately does not vibe with my skin chemistry. It turns screechy, synthetic-smelling, and too... everything. Too citrus-y, too tea-y, too soapy. Stabbing me straight in the brain. I'll give the decant to my mother though as she might like it, curious to see if it plays nicer with her skin.
Love it! At the beginning is floral, but after 30 mins, the tea kicks in…it’s ideal for a summer day, it’s uplifting and refreshing, lasts quite a lot on skin, on clothes I can still sense it after 2 days. From my POV, it’s similar to Torino 21, but the Xerjoff one is more minty rather than tea. Love them both tbh.
