Viride

Has this burning effect that's very signature orto parisi style but now it's medicinal balm. Doesn't really smell like a forest to me, more of a herbal potion. Would imagine an alchemist smelling like this. Quite masculine.

you guys were making this out to be some sort of photorealistic nature, jungle experience when in reality it is just a beautiful, brigthened up Patchouli scent and I absolutely love it.

I’m not sure what the guy below me is talking about….its lasts 8-10 hrs easy and it DOES smell like a forest….a damp wooden forest, like after a soft thunderstorm, a kiss of sweetness at the end…definitely masculine….definitely unique and green….use it in the heat too, makes the notes dance even better and you’ll catch whiffs of it throughout the day… does have an herbal texture a little resinous, but beautiful… the green color of the shoes, exemplifies the forest and what it stands for…. Highly recommend.

Viride could have been so much better, in my opinion. I strongly believe that Alessandro Gualtieri is incredibly talented when it comes to creating unique perfumes, but Viride just isn't as impressive or as good as it can be Many people say it smells like a forest, but I don't think it captures the scent of a deep forest. To me, Viride is more like a luxurious men's aftershave or a masculine fragrance with a strong herbal character. Longevity: around 4–6 hours. Viride is also not as powerful as the other Orto Parisi perfumes in terms of projection and overall performance

Possibly the one and only green scent I enjoy. I've wanted this in my collection for a hot minute and I'm glad I spent the money. It comes across sort of piney and minty to me and I have no complaints. Only thing that seems sort of odd is that it's overpowering at first and mellows down quite quickly. Seems to last me the entire day or night however. If you're picky about green and woody fragrances I'd definitely give this one a chance.

I got this thing two weeks ago at Maxaroma in NYC...It is so, so weak my GOD…It doesn’t last no more than 10 minutes..It is just green little spicy water in the bottle.. I don’t know if I got a bad batch or what..I returned it...I don't know may be it was not authentic ..But if it was authentic then this thing doesn’t worth more than $10..

Starts off between Bracken Man and Beau de Jour, but sadly it all falls apart into the usual Nasomatto aromachemicals. I perceive very strong cashmeran and what ever usual cheesey, scratchy leather note he puts in his other perfumes. I'd much rather wear Bracken Man any day.

Green fresh and honestly nature in a bottle imo lol I love this… it’s really nice and honestly everything I want in a “green” a Fougere fragrance. I like Tis a bunch, but honestly it doesn’t stick to me for very long. It’s nice nd unique I genuinely enjoy it. I just kinda wish it stayed for longer than 6 hours.

Gualtieri #7 – Radioactive I was just about to give Viride a google treatment for some guideline because Gaultieri’s perfumes are so conceptual and out of the ordinary that smelling them in a vacuum will leave one lost. Personally, im more drawn to natural interpretations in perfumery, even if synthetic elements are used to create the illusions. Gaultieri’s perfumes willingly abbandon nature and cross the boundries of what a fragrance or scent can be and for that he has my attention, even if the fragrances aren’t for me. In the end i changed my mind on searching for a guide on Viride and gave myself over to Gaultieri’s creative process. I always look for the unique, even if only to experience it and not live with it and the best way to do that is to do it blindly. The color of the liquid is an almost radioactive green and that is fitting for Gaultieri yet on first encounter the scent is not as “hazardous”. Its pleasant and easily likeable. However, as it sits on my skin, that artificial green starts to reflect in the scent aswell. The accent is on the word “artificial” because once again, true to Gaultieri’s methods, the fragrance is synthetic to the core and the superambers in it work overtime. Its a rather linear scent that gives me difficulties in describing it other then saying “it smells green”. There are no natural elements that i can hold on to and help me decipher the perfume. There are no nouances, no texture eighter. Its like a color on the palette that does nothing without a context. Its not worlds appart from Risvelium, only Risvelium was more lemon-yellow and far less tolerable to my nose. I can tolerate Viride and it doesn’t smell bad by any means. It even improoves in the late stages, drying down to the booster compound i can detect in Layton Exclusif aswell, its just overall not a complex display of fine perfumery to me. Going back once again to synthetics because its too glaring to ignore on every sniff, im wondering if Gaultieri is “taking the piss” as Englishmen like to say. Im wondering if the man simply chooses a superamber or a strong aromachemical, tweaks it to something that can be called a perfume, bottles it and sells it as art. Kinda like the banana taped on a wall and exposed in an art gallery. But, who am i to judge what people like or don’t like and Gaultieri surely reached a high level on the ladder of niche perfume houses. That is a testament to the fact that there is a public for his style and not a small one eighter. They have crazy performance and that might have alot to do with that but i’ll leave it there lest i get into the judgemental mindset even more. This got me wondering, perhaps his perfumes aren’t ment to be smelt upclose and the way i judge and analyse them is wrong. I’ll settle on the fact that not everything is for everybody and thats perfectly fine. Nasomatto Absynth is a far better green scent that he created and if you put a gun to my head and made me buy a perfume from him, it would be Absynth for sure but Viride isn't unpleasant eighter.

In the opening I get mix of root vegetables (celery, parsley,...) and vegetable plants, globally colder, wet, more distant, earthy like perfume with little hint of crayons we used to draw with as children or damp wax crayons. During first hour not quite cologne but close to it, in a way more expensive, suitable for an older man. Not quite imaginative but not common or basic either, great deal soapy but...CLASSY! Style... Then it turns bit semi-sweet and woody (cedarwood, wormwood and hint of vanilla). Dark green to opalesque yellow-brown. Not airy leafy, more of a hard stem and underground tuber. Interesting, reliable, noble. See Jaskra07 review down there...pretty vivid.

Mother Nature’s Tactical Green 🧪🍃 As a noteninja, I appreciate a fragrance that picks a lane and masters it. Viride by Orto Parisi is a masterclass in herbal realism. This is a heavy, dominant wormwood fragrance from the first spray right down to the drydown. What saves it from being too harsh is a clever undercurrent of jasmine and a light, warm sweetness that rounds out the sharp edges. It genuinely smells like a traditional herbal pharmacy. It projects with moderate restraint, making it safe for close-quarters operations, but the longevity on the skin is highly impressive. It’s a very balanced green scent. Some critics might call it linear or one-dimensional, but for me, this is exactly how you pull off a refreshing, premium wormwood in the summer. A great addition to the warm-weather wardrobe.

2022 batches were good but newer batches (01248) is bright and not good anymore, never buy anything from Orto Parisi other than Cuoium and Risvelium as they are still new, it looks like the company change the formulation after successfulness of the product.

I come from the interior of Canada so call me a little biased, for foresty evergreen scents but This fragrance is just gorgeous. In the opening your nestled deep in the undergrowth of a temperate rainforest, fog weaving through the trees and there's a strong smell of petrichore and damp cedars in the air. The dry down is where Viride really shines. In the dry down the raw scent of the forest gets beautifully balanced out from what I would guess is the tobacco and lavender. It softens the dark and almost somber tone of the forest floor into a beautifully composed symphony of sweet yet slightly smokey evergreen. Theres something atmospheric about it -it feels like your alone in the temperate rainforests of Canada. Quiet, a little mysterious, a little somber and when the rain passes and the sun breaches the forest canopy, its sweet. Others my not like this scent but for me its less of a scent and more of a place I recognize, my home.

Viride – Orto Parisi I reached for Viride because I read: "green, herbal, forest-like, wild." And yes, I got exactly what I wanted. Only in the version: an abandoned garden after the apocalypse. The first hit smells as if someone took freshly cut grass from an old cemetery, mixed it with wormwood, mugwort, and lavender, then threw it all into a damp cellar where nobody has opened a window for twenty years. After an hour it becomes genuinely beautiful — a dense, feral, obscene forest. As if you walked deep into a spruce forest after rain, where the soil is wet, needles stab your ankles, and the air smells of rotting leaves, old tobacco, and the musk of a rutting stag who has just finished ruining everyone's peace. In the base, that classic Orto Parisi green dirt appears: wet bark mixed with the sweat of a man who spent all day turning soil with his bare hands, then wiped himself with nettles and sage. The whole thing smells like a grandfather's abandoned garden after nature finally took legal ownership: everything has overgrown, everything is rotting, everything reeks of life. There are no flowers here, no powder, no "fresh laundry." This is raw, bitter, green nature with its teeth bared. Longevity? Like an absinthe hangover. On skin it sits for twelve to fourteen hours. On clothes — until the next wash. On the psyche — for life. Marketing says "Aromatic green fragrance." They should have written "For people who want to smell like a wild forest after animal orgies and botanical decomposition." Rating: 10/10 This is not perfume. This is wet, bitter, green poetry about how nature would absolutely destroy us all if it had thumbs. I will buy another bottle as soon as I finish therapy and bury the last polite remains of my femininity.

This is absolutely fantastic - I have ALL of Orto Parisi and this is hands down the best one.

very herbal and old-school masculine, like a classic barbershop green scent. It doesn’t really feel like a realistic forest—more aromatic herbs and sharp greens. Clean and strong, but a bit disappointing and generic if you expected something natural or atmospheric. 2/10

This was the first fragrance I bought from Orto Parisi. The opening is intensely green and bitter, filled with the dry medicinal sharpness of wormwood, absinthe, and lavender. The first moment feels almost aggressive, carrying the cool alcoholic atmosphere of herbal liqueurs. The greenness is extremely strong and unmistakable. Lavender plays a crucial role here. It pulls the bitterness of wormwood and artemisia back toward a more traditional fougère structure, which is why the fragrance can evoke old style colognes or the smell of a classic barbershop. As the fragrance moves into the heart, the initial bitter green edge settles down. The scent becomes drier and deeper, with the coolness of conifer woods and the texture of dry wood shavings. Personally, I do not think it smells like a forest. It feels more like a herbal room filled with dried medicinal plants, tobacco leaves, and green aromatic balms. In the drydown, dry tobacco and musk gradually move closer to the skin. The woods never become sweet or warm. The medicinal bitterness remains throughout. Anyone who enjoys wormwood, lavender, fir, juniper, and tobacco will probably appreciate this fragrance, because it maintains that dark green stability from beginning to end. Longevity and projection are both moderate. To me, it leans more masculine.

Alessandro Gualtieri fragrances never declare any of their notes, but we might as well do away with the Fragrantica notes list as it is so inaccurate and incomplete. At the opening, I detect something unmistakably green that quite literally tickles my brain. There's a slight rush I get from sniffing it up close, like when you sniff eucalyptus. Then, as it dries down, the patchouli takes center stage as a middle note, 100%. It gives the scent this sweetness, almost reminiscent of sweat from sun-kissed skin. It isn't funky, fecal, or body-odorish at all, but I find that it gives it a slightly animalic quality—making it lean even more masculine. It has exceptional longevity and projects moderately throughout, but as the top and middle notes fade with time, a musk and sandalwood base remain, giving this a wonderful, creamy quality after several hours. I have not smelled Dries Van Noten's "Santal Greenery," but I picture that to smell similar to what this smells like after four plus hours. On the note of fragrances that feel similar, the immediate throwback for me was Polo Green, my dad's signature scent back in the day. This was actually my first ever blind buy, and I was very pleasantly surprised. I love this.

I dont find this harsh green its has like patchouli sweetness in it but really green masculine scent I kinda find this similar to brutus its been 4 hours now and its skin scent but this is really good now I dont think its green scent its smooth clean version of brutus because of patchouli. There is %100 patchouli in it I love it

Meaning green in Latin During his visit to Yemen, Alessandro Gualtieri, was inspired by yemeni men, in specific the Qahtan tribe, one of the oldest tribes in Yemen. Communities of the Qahtan tribe were also referred to as the 'Flower Men', known for their tradition of wearing green, floral crowns and garlands made of green herbs basil & jasmin. The perfume captures the scent profile of these men on a lon, hot day where their natural body scent gets mixed with the scent of their green crowns. And this is how Viride came to life. Intense, sour, bitter green opening. Two minutes in, it starts to cool down & a fresh greenery vibe starts to take over with notes of absinth, spicy lavender & a hint of sour green sweetness, like green apple & hints of woody notes. You get the feeling that you're taken by a deep, intense, and bitter green damp forest The heart is woody with smoky cedar in addition to hints of jasmine with the same notes from the opening but with deeper effervescent characteristics. This is smoky elegant & unique. The base is woody, dry & less sweeter than the previous stages, as it brings a mixture of sweet, fresh & spicy, balsamic green notes with rich & warm dry cedar. It’s deep, musky & slightly sweaty with warm, earthy distinct, slightly sweet & bitter tobacco notes. This is a vibrant fougere with a Gualtieri’s genius twist. Viride is not for the boys, it’s for men only 35+ years of age. Performance is very good with very good silage, it stayed on n my skin for 10+ hours. A few months ago when i tried a sample of this i wasnt impressed and i kept the sample bottle...Then i tried Halston Z-14,which i thought was just alright but very one dimensional and boring to use more than a few times...I started reading reviews about Viride and i was more intrigued...Smelled the sample at home again and decided to - i gotta be honest,impulsively buy a full bottle and it was worth it..This is one of the tamest Orto Parisi/Nasomatto fragrances i tried,but you must try it on skin...I might be insane and anosmic but now after trying this on paper it smells exactly like Phillip Plein No Limits..On skin it starts very green and sharp,reminds of a healing/cooling gel you would apply after being sore from training..I also get light rosemary in the background mixed with alot of spicy herbs..This gives me a similar vibe like Encre Noir but with way more herbs and plants...If EN is a church in a forest, Viride is the actual dark and deep forest with no sweetness...Around 30 minutes in it dries down to a classy green Halston (obviously 50x better)....Very light compared to other OP scents so i go around 5-6 sprays with this one,aiming a few to really get on my shirt...Lasts around 6 hours on skin with heavy projection first 2 hours and 12+ hours on clothes...Bottle is beatiful and the copper cap leaves a smell on your fingers...Really original niche feel so just own it..Any ocassion is good but the perfect would be a warm summer day while you drive to the forest away from town to chill with friends..You can use it any season,it doesnt bite back like the rest of the line so you can overspray to boost longevity...I highly recommend

I do not know what is this sweet dusty spicy sharp note that is sticking on this - can not tell if its the actual florals (lavender/jasmine) or the juniper but it absolutely ruins this for me. I'd rather wear Terroni again (with a lighter amount of sprays) than bother with this a second time, respectfully. Terroni is not even something I would typically wear, but it is far more interesting than this. Whatever expectation you have of this being a crazy atypical fragrance, please throw that out of the window. It's not remotely challenging. I was expecting something a bit more wet and green. Teeters more toward being an older masculine fragrance to my nose. Nothing to write home about.

Pardon in the forest. I find this to be the most pleasant and wearable fragrance Gualtieri ever put out. Good modern iteration of a 70-80s green masculine.

I feel like this and Memoir Man are extremely similar. The only difference I detect is that Viride is more herbal and airy, while Memoir Man is a lot more smoky and intense with better longevity. Before buying, it's a good idea to try both first to see what you like more and which suits your needs. Or buy both and wear Viride during the day and Memoir at night.

whenever i smell this perfume i am immediately transported into a mossy forest where the sky is white and the oxygen saturation is high. energy is flowing everywhere around me. the oxygen is suffocating, i am going to die but in the best possible way. girlfriend doesnt like it as much. she says its very present and assertive in any room. lasts a bit less then other Orto Parisi perfumes, i'd say around 8 hours. 10/10 for me

pretty strong and punchy cologne-y smell that i'm not fond of (and can't differentiate from an axe body spray). Fresh and more complex maybe, but still smells like cologne that starts to make me sick.

Very masculine Italian man smell. Suit, salt-and-pepper hair, pinky ring.

Smells like what I would imagine the Garden of Eden smelled like. 10/10
