I literally have no words to describe how great this perfume makes me feel every time I smell it on me or on someone else. It reminds me of Tom Ford noir extreme which is also another great perfume.

To my nose... THIS and Bvlgari Man In Black are almost identical!! Man In Black is a lot more affordable though and even seems stronger! The tobacco note is very prominent in both but I think Man In Black is actually more bang for your buck!!

Beautiful fragrance. Chose this over Tobacco Vanille as a winter signature. It’s less powerful than TV but never triggers the reaction from some that TV is known for. It’s just nicely balanced and warm. Exactly what you want for winter.

A lot going on here, helps me get a greater understanding of the PdM brand/style. Ultimately, this isn't one that I particularly like. I should have Eden smell it though, because she will likely think it is great. Definitely a black fragrance, or very black adjacent. It has a sort of lip balmy smell to it, evocative of something my mother used in its background feeling and shape. Creamy. Mildly spicy, mildly dark, mildly sweet. A bit too much vanilla. Soft. Dry woods. Despite stated notes, not that much tobacco or cinnamon. The dominating notes are sweet, creamy, vanilla with some dark anchoring...not a good thing for me. However, all of the notes are respectably balanced. Ultimately feels a bit straightforward, kind of like a less daring rendition of many other fragrances in a similar category. It still feels well done though, and comes off as being a bit higher quality than many of those other entries, even if it isn't doing anything new. I don't think I would say I like it myself, but I will mark it as a 'like' for my wife.

This is a great one from PDM! A beautiful tobacco, not too earthy, not too sweet, just right! I'm not sure why people are having performance issues, unless they've gone nose blind (the most common reason) or just have unrealistic expectations. It's an easy 8 hours on my skin with good projection for the first two.

Because Oajan is my #1, I had high hopes for this one, and was pretty disappointed overall. Herod smells great, and I love this style of dna, but there are cheaper fragrances that smell better, project more, and last way longer. The price tag here is a crime. It smells a lot like Mercedes Club Black except with tobacco, and doesn’t last any longer. Glad I got a sample first.

As a lover of tobacco fragrances, I’d easily place Herod in my personal top 5 tobacco scents I’ve ever smelled. Within the Parfums de Marly lineup, it’s comfortably in my top 3. To my nose, it’s a smooth pipe tobacco with a subtle cherry nuance resting on a rich vanilla base. It’s warm, elegant, and incredibly comforting without feeling overly sweet. Herod was also one of the very first niche fragrances I experienced nearly a decade ago, so it carries a lot of nostalgia for me. Unfortunately, the performance isn’t what it used to be. Luckily, I managed to get my hands on a 2020 batch, which still performs decently enough. If you’re a tobacco fragrance enthusiast, I can definitely recommend giving Herod a try.

Worth it, especially for the magical drydown.

Worst shit i have ever smelt maybe even the worst cologne oat imo

In it's opening, I get some kind of berry or fruit or prune smell, it almost gives me the feeling that it would be sticky or jammy. Which is interesting because there isn't a fruity note listed (though there is a sweet accord). It's not strong enough for me. I also completely disagree that this is a mens' scent, and find it completely unisex. There's something off about it that I can't quite put my finger on, but otherwise I feel neutrally toward it. Almost like it's a less fun version of Jazz Club, like it's failing to go all the way, playing it safe somehow. The drydown reminds me of something, maybe something else I've worn, or maybe something a close friend has worn― it feels familiar. After sitting with it for a while, I'm not mad at the drydown, which I think is my favorite part of the experience.

This was my first “niche” fragrance. I have an older bottle. Honestly this is still my favourite in my collection. The tobacco is smooth and mixes perfectly with the vanilla, cherry and cinnamon. It’s sweet but still very masculine compared to soemthing like TF tobacco vanilla. Overall an amazing and sexy perfume for night time.

Анонім

By now i have at least 3 other frags that just kills this in every aspect of notes. And lasts way longer.

Анонім

This isn’t tobacco in the cigarette or kretek sense. It’s more of a creamy, mellow tobacco accord that’s surprisingly more into yummy. On my skin, it performs better than expected and comfortably lands above average.

My husband calls this his “most expensive smelling cologne” and he’s right in saying that. It’s a creamy tobacco that’s so smooth in the way it’s blended. But I love to buy it for him because 1. I’m clearly the fragrance lover and snob between us two, and 2. I just genuinely love the way this smells on a man. It’s sweet but still masculine leaning. To me, it’s a perfect date night scent because it smells sexy without any associations to club life, it’s alluring and projects enough to detect but is soft enough a woman wants to get closer, and, (don’t hate me for admitting it) it smells expensive. Only downside is that it actually IS expensive.

Genuinely one of the best fragrances I've ever smelt, maybe the best. Beautiful creamy tobacco. Smelt it for the first time in Harrods and and I instantly knew I needed the big bottle. Bought it as a birthday present for my myself, as long as they make this masterpiece I'll always own a bottle

Анонім

Overrated. The scent is gorgeous, but the performance is not what you expect for this price point, unfortunately.

Анонім

Ive smelled a sample of this and love it. I read there is performance issues which worry me if I were to invest in a bottle. Compared to side effect and amberwood I would say I like this more since they all are in that relm. Regardless its a very pleasant smell I must say so.

Анонім

A smoky intimate cherry. The scent is undoubtedly one of the best from PDM. sadly it’s a bit too close to skin and the longevity isn’t amazing but I personally don’t care as it’s worth respraying through the day for that addictiveness smell this gives. A masterpiece and definitely one for people that want to smell good within their own bubble

Анонім

best winter fragrance OAT , i just need an affordable dupe with beast mode performance but that will keep the smoothness and classiness of this

Анонім

Very likeable fruity sweetness on top with a base of a tobacco vanille. Horrible performance.

This is a MASTERPIECE by Monsieur Olivier Pescheux for Parfum de Marly! ELEGANT, CLASSY, RICH, CREAMY AND COMPLEX. You can't go wrong with it, If you like Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille or Vanille Havane or Bvlgari Man In Black EDP, You will like this one. It was about two years on my Radar and I bought it blind-buy after reading the positive comments and I watched reviews on YouTube with reasonable price , Nowadays it is very Expensive but It's the best Parfum de Marly in line. Herod opens up with warm spicy, Incense , Osmanthus and Tobacco in the background then dry down is semi sweet Smoky Vanilla and Tobacco. It's sweet but It is not cloying. Herod has a masterful Well-blended composition and The Combination of Cinnamon , Osmanthus , Incense and Tobacco in this perfume is very pleasant that It smells similar to cherry and a little bit apricot vibe undertone along with Tobacco note. I really enjoy it when the weather is Cold and I love it. I'm so happy that I have it in my collection. Rest in peace Monsieur Olivier Pescheux and forever in our hearts. Longevity is good. Highly Recommended. Two Thumbs Up Bravo Parfum de Marly! Rating : 9 / 10

Gorgeous vanilla and tobacco scent. Weak projection and longevity but for people who want a warm cozy scent that isn’t overly strong this is perfect

Анонім

Love love love the opening - reminds me of walking into a nice cigar shop, a sophisticated tobacco with a woody cinnamon. Unfortunately, as others have noted, it doesn't last and becomes a skin scent rather quickly. It's still a nice scent, the tobacco never fully goes away, and there's more vanilla. I would have loved this scent if it had more staying power! Alas!

Анонім

Manly. Didn't know I was a Tabacco guy, but this smells like a badass dude. It's mature, masculine, cinnamon blended with Tabacco vanilla. My main concern with these is they can be overwhelming or too heavy. this is perfectly blended and not headache inducing. It's a pleasant smell that rounded nicely. Scent - 9/10

My story is the same as most. This is a truly beautiful scent but I only get about an hour and a half on my skin and that's with moisturiser. If you're wearing this out and about make sure to have a 2 or 5 ml decant on you so you can top up often. It is worth the hassle because it's so effen nice!

Анонім

Top 3 PDM. I would wear put this right next to haltane and althair. Unfortunately performance doesnt seem as good as Haltane. Faded quicker and became a skin scent. Such a shame, its my favorite tobacco fragrance.

Анонім

It's truly a masterpiece! It opens a little sweet to my nose, like a warm apple pie, and turns into soft tobacco after it dries. There is no smokiness or fire here, just pleasant fresh tobacco scent. The only drawback is that it doesn't last on me! I get a good 2 hours of scent, then it becomes a skin scent - people comment on it when they hug me. I spray about 5-6 sprays on my neck, and it just doesn't last! I find it truly unisex - I smelled it on my male friends, and it is kind of soft; and it makes me feel strong and confident as a woman!

Bit tobacco latelly out the amazing Herod conglomerate. Dense, got the impressive, I always get the dark plum jam, perfect warmth instead of really sweet. Another Parfums fe Marly legend, prefer Herod to Carlisle, not getting the Cinnamon or Incesne yet, stayed pretty much the same few years is, personally mostly worn it paired with the Black Phantom, just didn't get over that pairing r there.

Анонім

I hate to admit it but PDM did tobacco justice in here, most tobacco perfumes come off monotonous unlike this bottle. It's tobacco that has a woody and sweet accord incorporated along with it in a well-balanced manner. Perfect tobacco. Currently reconsidering this or it's dupe.
