Finally got to smell this, and it’s a no for me. The menthol vibe ruins it. Was extremely disappointed that this was the smell I’ve heard so much about
An absolute masterpiece, everything about this is just perfect. I really dislike gourmand, cold weather fragrances, and this definitely saves me from that. This is perfectly masculine, lavender, apple and the vanille undertone, ties this fragrance together. The quality is incredible, and the longevity and projection is 8+ on both fronts. If you are like me, and don't like all those gourmand fragrances like, Stronger with You or Lattafa Khamrah, this one is perfect for you.
Have brand new 200 ML PDM Layton in Miami / Ft.Lauderdale area for trade - Looking for PDM althair or another PDM 200ml. Instagram @ RickyRichMind or message me here
When I smell Layton it reminds me of spicy designer fragrances in a certain way. It smells like someone crafted THE perfect fresh designer fragrance that lasts long. It does its job perfectly but is not worth the niche price tag . It’s not as unique as other niche scent. However, it is a mass appealing and enjoyable scent.
honestly, it’s nothing special. i bet i could get something smelling like this from lattafa, performance would just be lacking slightly. but the smell would remain the same.
I dont understand the hype. Its menthol apple and slight vanilla. Smells designer quality and is very overpriced for what it is. In comparison, Percival is also simple and overpriced designer inspired but i can appreciate better quality and niche interpretation of a very basic DNA. Layton is just a bunch of menthol and apple mixed poorly. Just buy the dupe if you lile the DNA, it does the same. Very overrated and overpriced
ok wth at first ofc i was this is hella menthol like and smelt very fresh and nothing like a gourmand but i put the tester strip in my pocket and now i was just sitting in my chair and i just decided to smell this and so the dry down smelt so nice like apple pie like while still being pretty fresh and being spicy and masculine tho is it worth the price tho? nahhh theres just better scents out there for me personally tho still this is ofc better than althair
Layton is definitely one of my G.O.A.T. fragrances, it will always have a place in my tiny collection. Love the hint of apple in the opening, and mine is mature enough that the Vicks note is almost gone, and transitioning into a wonderful blend of lavender and vanilla and woody accords. Now this makes me appreciate its clones though. I sometimes prefer the clones I have - Detour Noir Exclusif, Miraj Absolu. Granted that they are clones of the Exclusif, but they are only half that, more like in between Layton and Exclusif. Having these clones around saves me usage of the og, and I only wear it when in the mood.
Good perfume doesn’t deserve the price tag Buy al haramain detour noire thank me later
Love this scent but it’s so expensive I have to buy decants because I don’t see myself paying $200 for a fragrance
really nice! HQ
It's just fine. The smell is alright, and if you were wearing it I wouldn't guess you were wearing a 200 dollar fragrance. With how good middle eastern brands are getting, it is hard to justify the price
I get more of the lavender and spices during the initial spray, a hint of apple but it fades pretty quickly for me. After that the fruitiness gives way to the vanilla, cardamom, and woods. Pretty sweet for my taste, but balanced and never overwhelming. Almost gives like a classic spiced root beer by the end of the dry down. Really nice scent and high quality, but I will say not the most unique scent that pulls from these same notes, and a steep price point. I enjoy it but will probably pass on a full bottle.
To me Layton smells like the best apple pie ever baked. I don't know how else to explain it. It's just so juicy and tasty, if I could I would eat it. I know it sounds a little weird but it is just simply amazing. It's mostly sweet but also a little citrusy, spicy and even a little minty. That being said this is a colder weather scent for sure, I would not wear it in the summer. Longevity is great, first hour or two it projects nicely then it becomes a skin scent (at least on my skin) for up to like 8 hours plus. If you are new (like me) and are looking for something different and niche I think Layton is a great start. But like always don't blind buy, test first!
Cozy, elegant, long lasting, and versatile. There's not much to dislike here. The quality is excellent. Vaguely similar to Invasion Barbare by MDCI in the sense that I get the same powdery vanilla cedar wood smell, but it still goes in its own direction. Longevity is excellent at around 7-9 hours, and that's in the heat of summer. I imagine even longer lasting in fall and winter. Highly versatile year-round, though probably best avoided during extreme summer heat and humidity. Absolutely worth a full bottle purchase!
Just like Eos1977 said. One of the most beautiful fragrances that I believe is truly undupable. I do have a clone just to quench my thirst for the DNA, best believe I will be getting a full bottle in due time.
I'm wearing 6 sprays of Layton today. I want to do it justice with my thoughts because I don't really enjoy it. It is mildly sweet. It is spicy, apple, light except for a note that projects outwards and sticks out like a sore thumb to me. It's a note I smell alot in cheaper perfumes... because of this I actually had to get multiple sources check my bottle (reddit, facebook groups) to ensure it is legitimate and all sources confirm that it is. I suspect it's ambermax that I dislike. It does give a warm feel to the fragrance. I'm currently about 6 hours in and it's subsided quite a bit. It's more apple, vanilla, cardomom, creamy and peppery now with less of the offensive feel. This one isn't for me personally. I don't really see why it is so celebrated, especially for its price.
All those 'clones' of this fragrance are like the urine of a sick cat. Nothing smells like Layton. Layton is pure art. It is the most beautiful painting, the grandest sculpture, the finest carpet, the most perfect car, a royal garden. It’s a scent that doesn’t ask for permission—it kicks the door wide open, and absolute silence follows. A fragrance for the ultimate alpha male and alpha female. Completely uncompromising.
This is my first niche, and probably the most favorite fragrance out of my entire collection. 10/10. Be warned, I am not a fragrance snob, I am simply a consumer. The best way to describe this, once you put it on, you'll understand. It is so, so sexy. It does smell like it is meant for "manlier men", but I think it is still youthful enough. With this on, the best way to describe how you'll smell, is apple cinnamon vanilla cake. Not pie, but cake. You smell very sweet, you smell GOOD for a long, long time, AND you'll get compliments. This is one where the dupe can NOT replicate the OG, trust me, I tried. The dupes smell like s*** in comparison. I get roughly 8 hours out of this on skin, more on clothes. I get so noseblind about this one unfortunately.
Mainly lavender, patchouli, and vanilla for me -- the rest is hard to pin down. There's something in there that smells like (fake) blueberry? The performance was poorer than I expected. The drydown was mostly pepper, with a hint of wood and patchouli. Not very memorable to me.
Beautiful fragrance ! one of the best in the PDM line - I ended up with 2 of the 200 ml sized bottle through gifts. I have one for sale/trade if anyone is interested in a brand new PDM Layton 200 ml , Im in the Miami/Hollywood, FL area. Instagram @ RickyRichMinds or message me here so we can talk. Also have a 100 ML PDM galloway for sale/trade ( im really interested in a bottle of Altair )
What can I say about this PDM? This is one of the best of the line, but not the best in thy eyes. I had the opportunity to spray Layton on the skin for the entire day. Here are my initial thoughts: I feel as though I have been transported to my kitchen, and my mom is preparing an apple pie. I say, " Mother, may I dip my finger in the sauce. She says, "Sure," but reluctantly. There was a mistake. Now I am drenched in spices, and my evening is ruined. This is Layton. 6.9 pepper balls out of 10. NOTE: I will be back in the fall, for then it shall be winter.
Legit can still smell it after 3 days and 3 showers when i layer it with shiyakka shadow
Super popular, but this one just doesn't do much for me. Not terrible, it just doesn't appeal to me. There's a specific note in it that shows up in other perfumes I also don't love, and I can't quite pin down what it is... maybe ambroxan, patchouli, or guaiac wood. Personal subjective score: 6/10
First thought: fruity-pebbles vanilla Sauna-wood. Don't need to look at the notes list for that...It's pretty great though. I'm surprised I like it, giving its presentation is quite sweet. The sweetness is almost Bazooka Joe/Double Bubble bubble-gum-y. Honestly, I think those aspects are holding it back a bit for me, but the smell of the woods is great. I am still in the opening at this point, but I have high hopes for this as it dries down. Hoping it threads the needle between a sweet scent that appeals to Eden, and something that I would wear on my own. It does continue to trend of Parfum de Marly since being too sweet, pretty much across the board.
Even tho i get nose blind after like 20 minutes this is such a seductive and gorgeous scent. Its pretty versatile but shines the most when going out or at night
I love it but it's very weak. I don't know if it needs maceration or my batch is different ( I bought it a month ago). The performance disappoints me every time. I can't enjoy it. 10 minutes after spraying it I'm nose blind and it sits close to my skin for maximum 6 hours. Edit: after 24 hours I can still smell it on my clothes.
This is my favorite fragance. When you got this on you are the sexiest man/ women in the room. You might not ACTUALLY be the sexiest in the room, but you are gonna feel like it, trust. You are gonna notice people getting a little closer to you tryna catch a whiff when they are talking to you, easy compliments, and people lookin at you when you walk by. This is the only fragrance I ever wear for first dates or occasions when Im tryna make an impression. Superficial shit aside, I also genuinley enjoy everything about this fragrance too. When I first smelled this at a Nordstrom like 4 years ago, it was the first time a fragrance ever blew my mind. The only problem with this fragrance is I do think the clone market has made it so the alternatives to this are pretty viable. That being said though, I still do think this is better than even the best clones out there. If you dont want to pay the money for a full bottle, I think you are better off just buying a 10 mL decant for like 30 bucks.
This is soooo nice! A warm, cozy and spicy scent beautifully blended with fresh and sweet notes. Evolution is amazing on skin! A truly masterpiece!
Parfums de Marly Layton is one of the most famous niche fragrances and a true modern classic. It opens with a fresh and spicy combination of apple, bergamot, and lavender, creating an elegant first impression. As it develops, vanilla, geranium, and woods appear, giving it a sweet, creamy, and luxurious character that feels both masculine and sophisticated. Performance is excellent, lasting around 10+ hours with strong projection and a noticeable scent trail. It works especially well during autumn, winter, and cooler evenings, making it perfect for dates, special occasions, and when you want to make an impression. The biggest downside is the price. Layton is a very expensive fragrance, and although the quality, performance, and luxurious feel are impressive, the cost can be difficult to justify for some people. It also became very popular in the niche world, so it has lost some of its exclusivity. Overall, Layton is a beautifully blended and highly complimented fragrance with great performance, but its high price and growing popularity stop it from feeling completely unique. 8,8/10.
