Artemisia

Nobody gets this perfume like I do. Yes, it smells like a haunted Victorian doll’s head, yes, it smells like a nail salon, yes, it smells like hairspray. That’s the appeal... It’s actually the most gorgeous green, powdery, floral nectarine tea scent, soo delicate and strange I love it. It was my signature for some time after I received it as a graduation gift, but I ultimately had to change it because it was so weak, not unlike a fragile doll. Silkstone Barbie in a bottle.

Hairspray, raw vanilla, white musk, green apples, hairspray formed in the surface of white flowers, white musk again, warm vanilla. This should be in fact the gold standard for hairspray fragrances, as apart from the obvious reference it possesses a soul, too. Artemisia holds you in its warm embrace without getting sentimental, -, just an assuring, almost lactonic hairspray fragrance where wedding decorations and the chemistry of nail polish collide. White and glossy, the word "porcelain" comes to mind. Scents like this mean both business and romance.

Unoaked chardonnay, tea and baby powder. Every time I wear this, I wonder why I don't wear it more. This fragrance really sings on a humid or rainy day.

this one is so delicate and beautiful! i think it leans a bit vintage in its overall performance on my skin, but i kinda like it that way :) i wouldn't say this one is sweet, but just barely powdery fresh. this is another inoffensive penhaligon's perfume, i would say it's a pretty safe blind buy/gift! gentle, powdery violet tea

green and a little sweet like herbal tea, or flowers that grow beside a mist-covered lake ^_^

This is just a nice perfume to relax in. It smells like cashmere wool. Sometimes I get a a sweetened jasmine tea steam in the background or some violet and nectarne, and other times it stays as cashemere wool only. This is not a scent to wear to really impress anyone, but people do seem to just enjoy it. I recently wore this with my partner that initially dismissed the scent in the shop , and he loved it enough that he asked me to spray a little on a t-shirt so he could smell it and think of me. I do wish it projected a bit more, but I definitely like this.

Holy hell absolutely not. I immediately gagged. When I was little I had to have teeth pulled out as I had terrible overcrowding. I had gas to put me to sleep and the mask smelled just like this. I used to wake up and feel so ill I would vomit for hours afterwards. This perfume takes me right back to that. It's the stuff of nightmares.

Very feminine no question, reminds me of bvlgari pour femme. You can say Artemisia is powdery in the same way everyone says bvlgari pour femme is powdery. While bvlgari pour femme has rose Artemisia has lotv. They share the same muskiness that is present in cashmere mist.

This is a nice perfume, kind of smells like an old library, which is why I'd say it's good for a cosy autumn day, perhaps if you wanna romanticise uni

I LOVE THIS! Much smoother than Cashmere mist (they are incredibly similar though). And this shit is absolutely eternal on my skin and clothes. I sprayed it 3x and my husband asked me to change my hoodie because it was choking us both out!

This smells like the memory of the bar of fancy white soap my grandmother kept in the bathroom (the one that was for looking at, not for using). A clean, powdery scent but somehow comforting and warm. It's not something I'd wear but it's lovely all the same.

Interesting Re-do for the original, this is now so much softer and less dated. I get a fresh green and purple floral with a sheer silk-like powder. I can smell the nectarine and green notes and violet, almost like they've been dried and crushed and finely milled with a super finely milled silken body powder. It is a light clean fresh spring scent but theres something in it that smells chemical-like and cheap. Unfortunately as this is an already mediocre mix of notes that triggers migraines for me, it is a hard pass which is a true shame because this has always been my favourite bottle aesthetic/design wise (ever since I first saw it as a little girl). I was tempted to buy it just to fill that nostalgic need of getting to buy something I wanted so bad growing up but the juice is too mid to justify the price of the bottle.

You can grab a can of compressed air for 3 bucks off Amazon. Same longevity. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills reading reviews of this, I spray and I spray and I spray and I smell NOTHING. Maybe if I press my nose right up against my skin and take a large inhale I can gaslight myself into finding some powdery musky violets, maybe. Maybe I'm just anosmic at this point.

I don’t really know what this fragrance has, but I’m so down for it. Maybe it’s the musk mixed with sandalwood, or the lily-of-the-valley (my favorite note in all perfumery), but there’s something in Artemisia that really pulls me in. I know it’s not the best fragrance in the world, but calming, gentle fragrances always hit the spot for me—and this one does exactly that. Artemisia by Penhaligon’s is a soft, powdery, floral, aquatic, and slightly green fruity scent. It’s not a fragrance that will get you a ton of attention (the projection is rather weak), but that actually fits its personality. It’s intimate, subtle, and quiet—and in this specific case, I don’t mind that at all. If you love ethereal, calming fragrances, enjoy powdery florals, or you’re simply a “unique” girl looking for something different from the usual loud, sweet perfumes (even though I don’t believe scents have a gender), I’d strongly recommend giving Artemisia a try.

I definitely get a sweet baby powder and baby cream smell in the dry down. It's not bad, kind of makes me feel cozy. If you like the smell of babies this is the smell for you lol

Okay, so this fragrance is called Artemisia...but it has no artemisia in it? Why not name it something else? Haven't smelled it yet, but will try to hunt down a sample.

My first introduction to Penhaligon's and it did not disappoint. This is a powdery green floral scent,very feminine even though it's a skin scent it's still a nice one to wear when you don't want to wear anything heavy or closing. Definitely repurchase worthy

I love this! The initial scent that comes through is not necessarily my favorite part of this perfume, but I don't hate it. I can definitely see how others have perceived it as a latex smell. Though as it starts to settle after about 5-10 minutes or so, the notes start smelling more to me like a freshly watered green house. Not in a dirt sort or way but more like sweet wet leaves and flowers. It's also quite powdery as well, which to be honest I didn't really like at first but it's definitely grown on me and I think it fits well with the florals. If you've ever watered very fragrant flowers, the way the flower scent mixes with the water in the air and wafts towards you is exactly what this reminds me of! It's quite pretty! The longer it sits, the more I can pick up the nectarine as well. Every time I use this, it makes me feel like a fairy wearing a flower as a dress having tea in a garden.

Powdery and long lasting, but the persistent latex smell is disturbing.

I adore this fragrance. It is so pretty, fresh and feminine. One i wear often and big compliment getter. So beautifully blended and super special ❤️ one of my top favorites

SO powdery… smells almost nail polish / hairspray on the opening, dry down is so violet heavy and absolutely not to my taste at all. couldn’t sense any of the honey, vanilla, or caramel coming through at all. sickly powdery with little sweetness. actually had to scrub it off my skin, an absolute no for my nose

the absolute heartbreak when you try a perfume thinking it’d be right up your alley but it only ends up giving you headache. as soon as i sprayed the sample the only smell i got was sickening, headache inducing powdery note. usually i love my powdery scents, this is the first time that gave a massive headache to a point i had to wash it off. this is very heartbreaking cos all those notes are usually what i love the most. if you want a heavy powdery note scent maybe it’s worth a try. who knows y’all will be able to smell other notes which i couldn’t.

Almost impossible to describe. A musky cashmere warmth that envelops you like a gentle hug from your mother. Elegant, refined, yet also comforting and tender. This isn't a collection of notes- this is a feeling.

Artemisia blossoms with a sweet, almost syrupy peach—not the fresh juiciness of orchard fruit, but something denser, saccharine, like its syrupy overripe flesh rupturing on the green summer earth. As it develops, a toffied green apple weaves in, adding on scene even more sweetness, with just a hint of tartness to keep it from feeling completely flat. The powdery floral vanilla takes over extra quickly afterward though, transforming the scent into a soft, soapy one akin to candy flavoured bath foam, or more accurately sucking on a sour apple lollipop in the lukewarm tub while your $3 bath bomb erupts in synthetic, floral bubbles around you. There’s a faint green undertone that keeps things from collapsing entirely under the weight of its sweetness, but it’s still mostly a sweet, powdery cloud. I can’t say I fancy it, but I don’t hate it either. Artemisia is one that simply doesn’t evoke much emotion. It’s inoffensive in a way that fades into the background, a powdered veil that neither insults nor inspires. A fleeting impression of vanillic cleanliness that lingers around trying to manage something... just not succeeding in much.

I had this in 2016, it was a beautiful white floral scent but sadly no lasting power and no sillage, so I used it up really fast and it wasn’t worth buying again. After a few years I remembered it and wanted to smell it again but I think it is discontinued. I find Amarige by Givenchy similar but with much better sillage and projection.

Quite nice powdery effect. I pick up on greenness and florals.

Fresh powdery floral vanilla scent. Quite light for an eau de parfum. Love it.

I typically gravitate toward powdery fragrances, and for me this is one is pretty basic. It’s a simple skin scent with a tea like quality, but there’s something about it that smells almost chalky? dusty? It’s difficult to pinpoint exactly what the note is, but it’s dry in a way that makes my throat feel itchy. I think it may be the oak moss idk. Though it doesn’t linger long, the opening is actually terrifying lol, it smells like acetone and baby lotion. As it settles, it transforms into a pleasant soft, herbal smell that makes me think of loose leaf teas and old paperback books. The persistent dust note is kind of agitating, but it does fade once the perfume is completely dry. Then it smells really pretty, like a floral French milled soap. The bottle and label art are gorgeous as per usual. I have smelled better from Penhaligon’s.

Very feminine fragrance, powdery, gentle and very musky/jasmine. I like it very much. But, if this is your thing, save your $$$ and get Cashmere Mist by Donna Karan. Penhaligons is quite pricey for such poor performance.
