This fragrance is gorgeous. It's subtle and has a soft sweetness about it that is just lovely on the nose. It's not overpowering or heavy and I find this very similar to Glossier YOU. Adore!
this is kind of a hard fragrance for me to describe. my favorites are nemat amber oil and xtra milk by dedcool, so i love a warm skin perfume. this is in the same family, perhaps a cool cousin. i like it. doesn't last too long on my skin, more so on my clothes, but i prefer the notes that way. it's warm and sweet and a bit masculine.
If you like this, try Spirito Ignite by French Avenue
One of the first fragrances I bought when starting my collection. I absolutely love the smell, but burned through the bottle so fast because it lasts like 30 seconds. Maybe someday I'll buy another.. because it truly is a beautiful comforting fig/woody scent.. but man I wish it lasted longer.
I would inject this into my veins if I could
When I first tried this on the paper tester in the store I honestly didn’t like it at first, came through very brightly. I’m glad however I tried it again on another piece as it really impressed me and the longer it sat on my skin I really loved it. I’m not just a casual fragrances so take my review with a grain of salt. A sweet, subtle musk scent is what came through to my nose.
Nice light well balanced scent. Nothing to love or hate in it. Good for someone who likes simple scents
Picked up a travel size at Sephora and fell in love. It's the ideal summer scent for me because it's not an overwhelmingly sweet gourmand and isn't tropical. My only gripe is the price but other than that its in my top picks for summer :)
I can definitely smell the jammy fig upon the initial spray, with a hint of floral (mostly iris). As it dries down, it gets creamier and a bit woody. The iris note is more prominent, too. I like it! It doesn't last very long on me, though.
If you love this, but don’t want to spend the money + get better projection + get better longevity, get DUAs “hidden gardens.” I promise it smells IDENTICAL!! And I’ve never said that about a dupe. Dupes I think are close or similar but never identical. But trust me when I tell you the DUA brand dupe is identical. AND it performs better. You’re welcome.
Picked up a sample because 1. my partner likes figs and 2. I saw it on IG by a self-described twink gathering intel on the scents lesbians liked wearing or smelling. Unfortunately I do not get its appeal. In the opening my partner said she smelled the briefest hint of fig but otherwise all I got powder, powder, and more powder which I have learned I am not a fan of. A hint here and there of floral notes, but they too were too sweet and again were still too fleeting, replaced by powder notes. Was hoping to get my beautiful lovely jasmine to show up, but nothing. Honestly, felt like my mom's talcum powder. Ick. About 2 hours later I noticed it settle into something more grounded but it was so faint it wasn't even worth it. It is highly unlikely I will ever be wearing this again.
This smells like my school principal from the 90’s and I’m not mad. It’s warm and aftershave-like, somehow emanating an air of authority while maintaining a sense of comfort. It commands respect while also inviting you in for a hug.
I've only recently discovered Phlur as it was not available before in Romania, and I am hooked. This is my favorite for sure, the orris-fig combo is spot on and it envelops you in this delicious aura, I can't stop sniffing myself. I pick up on a LOT of orris, sugared fig, and dry sandalwood, the same sandalwood I get in Tam Dao. This one is definitely worth the hype!
Another hit from Frank Voelkl, this gives me Glossier You vibes but are slightly more masculine version, think a butch version of it. I love how genderless it is, it's an amazing office scent and an everyday scent. works insanely good in the summer and as well in winter. I have rebought this multiple times, its a no fuss fragrance you can grab it spray a few and go out your day, not a strong staying power tho max 5 hours then it disappears.
VERY comforting creamy powdery sweet musky skin scent, subtle, not cloying, doesn't last at all unfortunately
I was SO eager to try this. Smelled it and It's literally just Glossier You, which I already have, so I'm not buying this. I preferred Golden Rule which was my fav from Phlur, maybe because I don't have anything like it.
Definitely see the Glossier You comparisons on first spray, but this evolves in a different direction - it's much woodier/more masculine on first spray, and settles into such a jammy fig. It does take a few sprays out of the new bottle to really settle into itself and I wasn't crazy about it but now I can't stop smelling myself. The performance is decent on me - like most Phlur fragrances, it's a skin scent, so don't expect huge sillage, but it definitely lingers. In terms of longevity, it sticks around on skin for 6-ish hours on my skin and days on clothes, but maybe more lightly than some. Overall it's not my favourite from Phlur but I am enjoying it, and it is really versatile - all genders, all seasons, day/night, it kind of just always works?
The good: This is the most beautiful frag I've smelled since BR 540 came out. I can't get enough of it. I pull it out at least 50 times a day just to smell the atomizer. It smells so very earthy and ethereal. The fig strangely comes across a little suedey. No complaints here. I freaking love leather notes. I asked chatGPT if fig can smell like suede in fragrances. The response, "yes, if mixed with other green notes like patchouli." I have over 100 frags and I haven't touched any of them since wearing this. I'm on my second bottle. The scent is a solid 10/10. I get a ton of compliments when I wear it. The bad: The projection and longevity are crap. It doesn't last more than 1 hour. If I want a proper sillage, I need at least 15 sprays. And if I want it to last all day I have to spray multiple times throughout the day. I went through an entire 3.4 ounce bottle in 3 weeks. 140 a bottle isn't outrageous, but it is when it's gone in 3 weeks. But I Love it so much. For me, it's worth the splurge.
I love this scent. It's the first perfume that got me into fig, and I'm so glad it did. It has a sophisticated herbal smell, but a subtle spice to it. It reminds me of, like, the cool hipster librarian with locs, crystals, and a cashmere sweater. I loved wearing Father Figure whenever I had a class, or when I wanted to stay inside and do work. Can't wait to buy the full bottle, and I would consider it a safe blind buy.
Really nice scent but i can‘t smell any fig. Not the tree, fruit or jam.
I found this very masculine, not getting any sweetness at all. I'm surprised I love this so much. I got a decant and Phlur doesn't ship to my country, I don't know how I will live not being able to smell this on myself everyday. OMG I'm obsessed it's like a distant lover I cannot reach. I will obsessively look for dupes for this one.
Absolutely delectable! If i smelt this on a man I would pounce! and smelling it on myself I feel soo sexy wtf bitches were not lying this is amazing, a unisex scent done so so well I need this bad
I had to try this because I looove the Bath & Body Works dupe, called Guilty as Fig. I got myself a small stash of that stuff, it's so good and versatile! Aaaaand they are an almost exact match! The only difference is that Father Figure has something subtly masculine, but transient, in the opening, which I enjoyed, plus it is very fitting given the name... However, the longevity and projection are worse than BBW... a body mist! Bummer.
I do love this scent. the listed notes all come through, and they work together to create sort of a 'dad's aftershave' impression, but more unisex. great office perfume, it's not going to offend anyone and it feels fresh and clean. I've been wearing it on high humidity summer days. that said, it has nearly no longevity and after reading reviews, it seems like that is an issue for the brand in general which is unfortunate as it's nice to see an affordable, mass-market perfume like this one hit shelves in sephora and be so popular. someone on reddit noted that Phlur will purposely never make this into a body mist because then that's all people would buy (as opposed to the higher priced EDPs). I went out and got the matching deodorant in hopes that I could hold on to the scent longer, but it didn't make a huge difference.
smells really wonderful! i smell the most-voted notes: fig, cassis, iris, orris root, and musk. and its sometimes hard to tell but i think i can pick up a little bit of sandalwood and patchouli. it is definitely a green scent to me. i also don't mind that it is an intimate sillage. i think the main disappointment is how short this lasts on my skin, truly about an hour and thats it. i would recommend the vaseline trick for this one to at least extend the wear time a little bit and ultimately, you'll have to reapply if you want to wear it all day.
Certainly not bad. I don't really get any fig, moreso a fresh, androgynous iris. Dry down is snoozeville and smells like your run of the mill clean skin scent.
I don't detect any fig or greenness unfortunately. Father Figure is faint, light, powdery and mostly pleasant, but it also has a note of fresh laundry, which I dislike. I think it might be ambroxan or a chemical they use for the white musk note? Some people like the smell of laundry, but it's not for me. After about half an hour I don't smell anything but laundry... I think I might be anosmic to some of the other chemicals in here!
Beautiful sweet powdery fig. I'm new to this accord and this was reccomended as an introduction. So cozy but light and intimate. I would wear this pretty much for any occasion.
This just smells so good. Comforting in any season. It's figgy, it's powdery but not in a diaper or baby powder kind of way, it's musky, it's sweet. One of my faves.
If you don't like musk centered scents like Narciso Rodriguez Pure Musc line, you'll hate this. I was told this is a green fragrance perfect for fig lovers, but I cannot detect any fig in it, and I wouldn't call it green neither. There is a lot of musk in this fragrance and I guess the aim was to make it clean and refreshing, but this type of musk molecule just smells like sweat to me. It's not so musty as the mentioned Pure Musc, instead it reminds me of those old, tree shaped car fresheners that always used to make me nauseous. Hard to decide which is worse.
