Polo Deep Blue Parfum

This scent is the embodiment of "blue". It is very reminiscent of more traditional men's blue fragrances, leaning more towards the herbal/barbershop style and lacking any incense note that is found in Dylan Blue and BDC. I think this is a great purchase if you are looking for a generally pleasing, all-year-round, all-occasion fragrance with above-average performance due to its parfum concentration. But the intriguing mango note isn't present for long, and the cedar/fir note is just a little too sharp for me personally.

A more sophisticated and mature version of Polo Blue. A wonderful warm weather scent that performs excellent and get lots of compliments. I highly recommend and have purchased a back-up bottle since I heard it's been discontinued. Prices on eBay are going up too. This used to be less than $50, now it's going for around $75 for a 4oz bottle.

Such a shame they discontinued this one. It's my fav in the polo blue line. The bergamot and grapefruit are well balanced and it gives off a nice marine vibe without smelling salty. The green notes are dialled down. Overall a banger.

Had to sell this one on. The smoky element combined with the mango came across like a sweet/savoury BBQ smell off my skin. It was quite abrasive and lacked a fresh or uplifting vibe for me personally. I prefer the EDP and Parfum versions. Replaced Deep Blue with Parfum which also has a smoky tinge but does not come across as unpleasant thankfully, and I prefer it.

Better than I expected TBH, my buddy had a bottle so I tried it out and it was not bad at all on a cooler (67°F / 19°C) early May late afternoon An "extra herbaly" leafy note in a marine blue scent. I can see how it can be weird on some ppls skin chemistry. The dry down seems a bit funky at times then you get a quick glancing whiff of yourself and your like... is that me who smells that good??? But my lady loved it on me so I got a full bottle for like $50, I wore it again yesterday (63°F) to dinner outdoors and it shined again. So I'm sold on it during cooler summer nights A cheapie that situationally works

I got a sample as its been discontinued and wondered if it was worth picking up. It is a bit boring and generic and I'm not surprised that it's been discontinued as its been done a thousand times before

I just got an updated bottle. The newer bottle (tall dark blue one, more in line with the current bottles) has a better atomizer. Anyway.. Initial impression - not impressed. Smells amazing for a grand total of 30 seconds. Dry down is very weak and not as described.... I just get a faint melon note in the dry down. I sprayed it like 20 times. Does not feel "deep" at all. Maybe it needs time. The ai chat bots all say this one gets better with several months. We will see. :: Regret purchase. Do not buy this because it is currently being pushed by some influencers and diScOnTinUed. It's not that good. Don't last. Ambroxan bomb. No reason to wear it if you have other summer scents. I will probably use it for layering.

Smells bitter, I'll mancerate it and see if it turns better

I really did like the smell of this. But I thought it tried down to a skin scent way too fast.

This is a bright, fresh, embracing and unique fragrance that is a safe blind buy and easy to wear everyday scent. It’s sad that this has been discontinued because it really is one of Ralph Lauren’s best blue fragrances. It truly shines in the warmer months of spring and summer, but I wear this year round. The fresh, sweet fruity mango opening is intoxicating, drying down to a slightly woody aquatic mix that emphasizes the cypress and fir notes while staying sweet from the geranium. I get about 8 hours of longevity, which is better than other aquatic fragrances that come with a higher price tag. Definitely grab a backup bottle or two while you still can. I rate it a 10/10.

Mr. Benaim always delivers. I love the woody-oceanic blend in Polo Deep Blue. It projects nicely for the first hour and sticks around for a few hours on clothes. It is an improvement of the original Polo Blue edt and a nice replacement for ADG Profondo or even L'eau Bleu D'Issey, which is my favourite herbal blue fragrance. A+ - Great for warm or cool weather. Excellent for a walk by the water on a breezy day. My woman loves it on me too (any of these herbal Blue scents).

I've liked all the scents in the Polo Blue line so far, and this is no exception. Clean, masculine scents like this have a timelessness to them that I really enjoy. I've learned to like the modern, sweet scents more than I ever though I would, but there's nothing better than putting on something like this that feels traditionally masculine. Carlos Benaim, the nose behind this creation and most (all?) the other Polo Blues, has given us classics like Eternity, Dunhill's Icon, Spicebomb Extreme, and of course, the original Polo Green. I do think there's a good bit of overlap with the Parfum flanker, enough that you don't need both unless you're a collector, but it sounds like this one may be discontinued already, so get it while you can because it's a good one in scent and performance.

for the first hour its nearly a 1:1 of the new aqcua di gio EDP (black bottle) not the clear one, but once the clarey sage fades its a tad bit more spicy, overall great scent easily 8.5/10 had i not bought the new aqcua id buy this for sure, especially at that price

It has a bright, energizing opening that makes you smell clean and refreshing. The marine and woody base keeps it grounded and masculine, yet very approachable. It doesn’t scream across the room, but people often comment that it smells “really good” when you’re nearby, even hours after application.

I can smell the ocean as the sea breeze jumps off the cap, waves crashing around the SS Minnow. Slight mango and citrusy open (I get ruby red grapefruit) with a bit of a pop rocks feel to it refreshing the senses, feeling the mist from the sprayer which I inadvertently pointed at my face. Unlike the Coach Blue it's a lot more complex as the heart notes develop with sage, parsley, patchouli, and soft florals. By the time the waves subside into the base the oak, vetiver, and patchouli rise in prominence, with a quiet musk tying it together into a calm glassy stillness on the water. Keeping with the original analogy, thanks to the professor (Carlos Benaïm) this Minnow won't be lost.

I wore this yesterday after getting my recently purchased bottle in the mail one day prior. I had a couple samples of this that I had used up, but finally had to pull the trigger when I found out this had been discontinued! If you really like this particular scent, now is the time to get it, I picked up a 4.2oz bottle for only $45.00 at Fragrance Shop, which I would consider an absolute steal of a price. Now, onto why I had to make sure I secured a bottle for myself: The opening has a nice fruit opening of mango, grapefruit and bergamot. The heart is brief, mostly dominated by cypress, beside clary sage and geranium, which is almost not detectable. As it dries down, you will see that the Ambroxan is clearly detectable, but it is so well blended with the other notes that it creates a nice salty fizzy vibe, that makes you think you are on the seaside. It is a parfum concentration, so the sillage trail is strong, but the projection is not a monster. However, the longevity lasts a good 8 hours before it turns into a skin scent, and even then it will last a few more hours beyond that! Definitely a masculine scent but I can see it appeal to guys from their 20's all the way to their 50's. That is the magic of fresh scents, they can appeal to some of the largest age ranges and audiences. I'd also like to add that this is a Compliment magnet. I wore this at work, and two coworkers said I smelled really good. When I stopped at my girlfriend's place after work, she also added to the list of compliments. What impressed me was the fact that I had sprayed this on over 9 hours ago, and she was able to still smell it clearly while hugging and sitting next to me. This is also a reminder to all of the "performance bros" that not all fragrances need to fill up every room you walk into and choke out everyone around you. A tight long lasting bubble within arms reach is also a great signifier of good performance, especially for a fresh fragrance like this one.

This is like a mature and green version of Light Blue Eau Intense Pour Homme. I like this one but it's nothing new. It's a well-made fresh fragrance that would be a good dumb-reach in the warmer weather. This would be a good choice for someone that doesn't have many fresh scents and just wants to smell clean and fresh.

Nice tropical fruit smell but too ambroxan heavy. 6.5/10

@KJS88 It's discontinued. The change to the new bottle shape happened a few years ago now. Any bottles left on shelves are dead stock.

This isn't discontinued, it's just been put into the new standard bottle style. Same colour gradient, same scent.

Gorgeous! One of the nicest Laurens. A fruity, green aquatic refreshing perfume with a good performance. This Parfum has the most beautiful bottle (which, now, is the same shape as Polo Blue Parfum) An absolutely classy gem for Summertime. My wife said it smells like gents toilets in a pub....oh well. Update....I have just had a long sniff at this over 20 minutes and in my opinion, this is a special perfume, lovely

This is fine, it smells good on, but up close I don't smell anything special. I was really hoping for a real mango note to come through. I don't smell it. It's just a fresh/ocean masculine.

Yea it can be had for under $50. But not for long. It’s my favorite polo right now. So figure I’d give yall a heads up while I’m at it. So I just found out that It’s been discontinued. And that is official from RL. So What’s left is all there is. And No more. That’s because when something is my favorite. That’s what they do. They discontinue it. So make it last.

125ml can be had for under $50 now as it's been out almost a decade. This is a solid choice as a vacation tropical scent but a bit more versatile as it can be worn daily as well. Solid alternative to the now discontinued D&G LB Forever as in todays economy folks are looking for more bang for your buck fragrances and this packs a punch. Maybe not a knockout right hook but it's a steady jab.

Hidden gem!!! Great fruity and aromatic scent, outstanding performance. Very good longevity, far better than polo blue. This is actually one the best from RL.

Kinda smells like puzza Edit- up close it smells like a high school locker room. But from a foot away it smells aquatic and fresh 5/10 Edit- it's better. Smells decent in the air. Still smells like like foot mushrooms up close. 6.1/10

One of the best aquatic freshies you can buy that truly captures that salty marine vibe. Sadly it's been discontinued by Ralf Lauren, so buy it whilst you can. 9/10

I'm wearing this today, and what really stands out is how surprisingly clean it smells. It's not loud at all and totally safe for casual day use. Maybe too strong for an office day - the same problem that I have wearing Monblanc Explorer and Ralph's Club EDP. It starts bright, then settles into light aromatic notes that feel super fresh every time they hit the nose. It smells soapy but not powdery, just clean and modern. At today’s price, it’s a steal. I’m really thinking about getting another bottle just to keep and save.

This juice is fantastic, can't believe I'm just now discovering it. Came to it via Polo '67, which is very nice as well. But deep blue - smells gorgeous, great performance, and the price is silly cheap right now. It's a damn shame this scent was discontinued, because it's an absolute summer banger! I plan on rocking this one all summer and bought a big bottle. It will have a permanent place in my summer rotation for as long as I can keep a bottle around.
