Fresh and sparkling, very pretty.

I bought this on accident and disliked it at first but overtime it has become my signature gym/sleep scent and I find it really clean and herbal leaning. I would not get this if you are expecting anything sweet but it is really fresh

In short, Romance is VERY close to Reserve from Perry Ellis, but a sharper and less floral, sweet version of it (although the accords listed suggest otherwise). I find Reserve has better blended green/herbal notes, it's also more intense and performs better. It's a simple fresh & clean type of scent that won't offend, but also not impress, anyone. Because even in this segment you have better (and more affordable) options like Arden Beauty or Truth by Calvin Klein (which can still be found – official online retailers, not ebay etc.)

I have loved this fragrance since my teens. It's a crisp and fresh after the rain clean floral. It's got unisex appeal and can be worn by people of all ages. It's mature and playful. Great for warmer months.

The first nice perfume I've ever owned. Crowd-pleasing fresh floral. Not a huge fan of the final drydown (at least on my skin), but YMMV. Smells somewhat unisex to me. I'd say she's suitable for all ages; classy and sophisticated but not matronly. Perfectly wearable for most weather and occasions - work, date night, you name it. Good longevity and sillage! She's a classic for a reason. :)

I've had a romance with Romance for more than 30 years. When I first picked it up in my mid 20's it exemplified the idea of elevated sophistication in my mind, so it was very aspirational. What I found strangely appealing about it was that it smelled like that overall chaotic perfume cloud you meet when you walk into a Nordstrom's cosmetics department, where all of the gazillions of sampled sprays of hundreds of perfumes crashed into each other and created one combined smell. For me, that smell meant luxury. Today, that smell means generically beautiful, but still beautiful. Romance will always be the scent my little sister admired on me and said it reminded her of how elegant I am. My entire wardrobe is still Ralph Lauren. But for now Romance has been put on the back shelf while I spread my wings and explore scents that make me soar.

I have been wearing this fragrance since high school (early 2000s). It is a very fresh and light scent. I think my chemistry has changed over the years though and it is smelling a little like men's cologne on me. I still like it though and it is a nice choice for spring and summer.

I am a man and love this and wear it. You know all who talk about it being overly floral it is not at all. Just clean! And I am not a gay man either and I’m fine with smelling like this! Just clean! Carries some masculine notes if I may say! God bless!

Smells like floral wet wipes

My very first designer fragrance, I still adore it, and probably always will! And it isn’t just fresh and pretty, it has a complexity to it that makes it interesting many years later.

Анонім

It is perfection in a bottle. So uplifting, fresh and delicate. I can smell the most some flowers, lotus, rose, freesia, dewy and fresh and also calming, chamomile, a hint of spiciness from ginger and the drydown is light wood, but more like light ambery touch. The version before the reformulation was better, smoother and longer lasting, but still it is one of the best fresh floral scent.

This was my mom’s signature scent and I as a child, I thought it was the peak of sophistication and grace. I had the pleasure of trying it in a store recently and it was every bit as beautiful as I remembered.

Ralph Lauren in it again with the timeless classic. Probably many of the suburban moms I knew in my youth wore this to death, right next to Chanel No 5. A professional and classy scent, perfect for every office environment. Elegant and casual. Nice with a black dress or a pair of jeans. I have a bottle left over from my grandmother and I'll wear it with joy, though it's not my all time favorite interpretation of roses. Bottle is nothing special to write home about, but is a well designed utilitarian basic, like much of Ralph Lauren's clothing lines. Meant to be worn and used, subtle in it's quality. Whoever said here it'd be good for layering is probably correct. At this point, I could do with a reinterprative twist on it's formulation. Maybe I'll try to sample some of the flankers someday, but I'd say if you ever need to buy perfume for any reason, you could go for this safely and most people would be satisfied.

Timeless classic. I totally agree with the person who said it was a 'clean girl' fragrance. This is a crip white t shirt, dark denim jeans, hair up, simple diamonds and white gold. I love a clean floral musk. It's less screechy than Valaya and less sweet than Fleur Narcotique. It's just the right level of powdery-ness. Some may say basic, I would say perfectly elegant, not trying too hard. She's a Saturday morning in the Spring when you pop out to buy flowers and grab coffee and croissants to take back home. Mood lifter. Happiness in a bottle.

I wore this on my wedding day in high summer 2001. It’s a very beautiful, clean fresh and uplifting floral fragrance. Elegant and pretty. Very different to my oriental or gourmand preferences but perfect for the occasion.

I was today's old when I first smelled this fragance. Blind bought based on the notes, I love it, very floral and fresh, smells a little bit 🧓 but I love it. I wish it was a bit more fruity more candy like, but I will layer with something sweet

Uh, that was my "seductive" perfume for special occasions in the early 2000s. LOL Very interesting fragrance, too much for everyday wear (for me). Reminds me of the past.

This is a classic for a reason! Sophisticate and timeless, and it lasts forever!

I won’t wear this because it reminds my husband of his ex (lol), but for me this and Tommy Girl are the ultimate ‘clean and girly millennial’ fragrances, I had them both in my late teens/early twenties. I still like them but may have outgrown them as my taste in fragrances has evolved over the years. Great for girly girls.

Анонім

Probably the most boring perfume I own.. I guess im not a 'clean girl' after all.

Анонім

To be honest, I'm a little shocked this perfume hasn't seen a resurgence in popularity after the "clean girl" trend. This is exactly what I would envision a clean girl fragrance to smell like.

I love this perfume. It pairs well with another ginger lotion and ginger perfume I've got. So refreshing and what a great morning scent! It's aromatherapy for me in that combination. I think any scent that doesn't have any outstanding singular scent, is a great one to pair with another which has similar, as a compliment to it. Or grab out the particular notes you want to shine and wear something that is that note forward, if that makes sense. Like, there's rose in here. So grab a perfume that has rose forward notes and combine, see what happens. I'm going to try this with Rosamor next. Or maybe with pure cedar essential oil to pull out the exotic woods. Anyway, I haven't worn this on its own yet as I get antsy to see what pairs I can mix to create my own scent, and the moment I smelled ginger, well.. I had to pull out my gingers. I'll come back and edit this after trying it on its own. Edit: this smells AMAZING combined with Oscar's Rosamor & KAY ALI Citrus/08.. I mean, absolutely magical! I'm also layering with the Rosamor lotion. Wow wow wow!! 🔥

I want to start off by saying my mother loves this. I got her the travel sprays of the Beyond and Intense but she asked for this still when she got low. This and Jessica Simpson Fancy. She has always loved white floral fragrances in particular. Now unlike Fancy I have never noticed that she was wearing this but obviously she wears it often, I even have a hard time smelling it when I spray it on myself. Very light, clean florals, like white laundry, it's nice but for me it's forgettable. Very much a fragrance for people who don't want to smell like they have a perfume on, safe and inoffensive.

90's white T-shirt and blue jeans on a spring day. Fresh, breezy and iconic.

This would’ve been on my favorites shelf if I had Fragrantica in the early aughts. I recently repurchased this chasing nostalgia and I find it to be a bit sharper than what I remember, but the dry down is still reminiscent of the bright, charismatic, flowy scent that I loved and adored. The compliments I used to get wearing this was insane. This made me feel grown. Lol

I can’t smell this one without smiling. It doesn’t shout, it doesn’t take over. Never offends, never screeches. It’s ladylike, soft, & pretty. Safe for any situation. Even for being around those who claim to be “allergic”. This is very “90’s” but still I’m happy to have it in my collection. Don’t know what the note is, but there is something in this that reminds me of Karl Lagerfeld “Her”, …and I like it!!

Beyond romance is the best flanker. That’s the only one I like. This is too sharp and nauseatingly floral. If it had vanilla or amber added into the base I think it would be beautiful. But I think the oakmoss is what ruins this for me. Prada paradoxe intense also has oakmoss and it ruins the whole scent for me.

I have to say, I don’t care for the opening. It smells sharp and synthetic and really inexpensive. I loved other Ralph Lauren fragrances such as Safari, Blue and Lauren. I wanted to love this also, but I just didn’t think it smelled nearly as elegant as others. However, once it calms down it ends up quite pretty!! It’s definitely not youthful but not dated either. It starts to smell more elegant and less inexpensive! I don’t find it at all masculine, but it’s not girly fruity and sweet either. If a man wanted to wear it, I think it would smell good too!

This scent feels like a hug from your mom in 1999. The Cranberries are playing, it’s springtime, you just got home from school and are excited to pour some lemonade and look through the new American Girl Doll catalog that arrived with the days mail. Sweet, soft, and sparkling with floral lightness, this perfume is a time capsule for anyone who grew up in the glow of Lisa Frank folders. Sweet 90s nostalgia in a bottle. 🌸🪻🌺🪷🌷🌹

it's almost like something my mom would wear (which isn't bad, i love my mom and she has a nice taste in perfume!!), but this is the scent i would smell at the top of the stairs while my mother grabbed her things and would leave in the middle of the night. for me i don't see how this is more of a "masculine" scent, it's undeniably a feminine floral, somewhat powdery, scent. it's very nice, if a little overpriced, but i do feel a little aged when i wear this, and as a 17 year old girl i don't know if i really want that. tldr- i like it, but it makes me feel old
