Bought a sample of this. Not unpleasant, but doesn't feel unique or interesting to me either. The opening is very dominant grapefruit with little else detectable. I wish i felt ginger or oakmoss etc... I think Isola Blu might be better.
I've a wife for sale or swap.
I wanted to hate this and obviously nothing original but it is so well made and there is so much tasty mint and other greens to balances citruses that I have to admit. this is amazing.
Ordered a small sample for testing. Complex blend but nothing special to my nose. My wallet is screaming of joy.
It smelled so good on the initial sprays and then I got hit by the cumin. Somebody really thought, "You know what this fragrance needs? Armpit." I don't get the cumin, seriously.
This might be the most bitter and sharp citrus I've ever smelled in my life, and I loved it! It's like everything was tuned to be bitter... Right away I picked up a mossy feel in the background, a minty freshness, and a serious leathery patchouli. There's also another sharp spice, not listed, that reads like thyme and/or rosemary > this is exactly the point where I also agree with the "armpit" comparisons, which is why I sprayed the scent on my hair and used it that way, this adverse effect wasn't there. This is the scent of a black suit. I'm still baffled at how a citrus can feel baroque to me. Layered, mysterious, dark, yet extremely fresh. The warming at the base doesn't break its freshness, it heats it up but that fresh darkness stays intact. It's like the fragrance Bruce Wayne would wear to those ridiculous cocktail parties he has to attend while hiding his identity, in tune with the righteous darkness inside him... Note: for anyone wondering what the Batmobile smells like: Iris Nazarena. Tag(s): bitter citrus, mossy, dark, fresh, leathery patchouli, baroque
Tried it once, there is a note that makes this perfume smells like armpit / body odor. For me it's a big NO
The worst thing about fragrances (in my personal experience)... ....is finding one that you love, purchasing it, and only afterwards finding out that your spouse hates it. Hates it as much as you love it. What to do in that scenario? That is exactly the situation I find myself in. Not only does it make 1819 a no-go for me anytime I'm home or out with my wife, but that also negates pretty much everything else in this genre. As much as I love 1819, I will have to send my bottle to a new home. Which, I guess, is ok. It is just a fragrance. Edit to add: Wore this again recently and the Mrs. liked it. Asked me what it was, and my reply was 'It is the one you told me to scrub off the last two times I had it on.' She laughed, as did I, but it proves that fragrances can smell different to people at different times and in different conditions.
Burlington 1819 is a citrus fragrance with far more depth than you might expect. It combines a bright, vibrant opening with a rich woody and resinous base, giving it a level of complexity that sets it apart from many fragrances in the genre. Performance is impressive for a citrus-forward scent, with the bright citrus notes remaining noticeable well into the dry down rather than fading after the first hour. Overall, Burlington 1819 strikes an excellent balance between freshness and depth. It wears comfortably in warm weather but has enough character to work just as well in the evening. If you enjoy citrus fragrances but want something with a more substantial dry down, this is well worth trying.
I like it, a lot. It’s very long lasting fragrance. I spray at 7:00 in the morning and I still notice it at 8:00 in the evening. So , longevity is around 12hrs easily. Very fresh and rich. I don’t feel cumin in the hard way like it has Amouage Fate. In nutshell it’s a great fragrance.
I’ve a bottle of this for sale or swap.
It took me a while to figure out what this fragrance reminded me of. Images of summer, the sea, beach parties and carefree evenings kept coming to mind. And then it suddenly hit me to my favorite cocktail a Mojito. That’s exactly what it smells like: fresh mint, juicy lime, a touch of sweetness and the refreshing feeling of an ice-cold cocktail on a hot summer day. This is the scent of vacations, seaside parties, golden sunsets and complete freedom. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to immerse themselves in that playful, carefree summer mood.
Smells great but just smells like a lot of other grapefruit prominent smell to me.
This opens up with a very realistic, strong blast of that bitter orange & grapefruit, although I can imagine the bitterness largely comes from either the grapefruit, lime, or both. I'm also getting a rummy, salty scent in the background. I do also get that fresh minty smell. The heart is very smooth & delicate. Woody, creamy musk, with the remnants of the fruity opening—now no longer overpowering what was underneath. It's very pleasant & seems of good quality, but I'm simply not blown away. The opening is quite exceptionally nice though, but that only lasts a very short time. 8/10
THIS IS WHY WE BUY 2ML DECANTS.
Have a near full bottle, with box for $160
Must be a body chemistry thing. I’ve worn this one for years, and never smelt body odour or anyone else has said that to me. In fact it’s one of my most complemented from strangers. Grown man grapefruit scent. Classy, smells like money. Perfection
I want to love this fragrance but the cumin ruins it for me. It gives a faint body odour smell.
Where do I begin? 4.3 rating for this garbage? This is the epitome of over-hyped. If there was a picture in the dictionary for the word over-hyped, it be a pic of Burlington 1819. Online influencers (Justin Copeland, School of Scent, etc) just praise this to no end making regular folk spend $250+ for this garbage. And people just feed off one another afraid to say this smells like ass. I found this at a online discounter for $169 and snagged it without thinking. I opened it, sprayed on my wrists, gave it about 30 minutes and immediately posted it for sale on eBay. Not for me. This just smells like flowers and grapefruit. Why didn't anybody mention this is a feminine bathroom spray for the shitter? This is a can of potpourri for after relieving yourself. Just flowers and grapefruit, WTF? Like most Roja fragrances, it is 9,000 listed ingredients, but you just smell flowers & fruit -- like Grandma just came out from taking a shit. Absolute garbage. OCEANIA smells like Grandma taking a shit. BURLINGTON smells like Grandma taking a shit. MIDSUMMER DREAM smells like Grandma taking a shit. They all smell like Grandma taking a shit. The only Roja fragrances that don't smell like Grandma taking a shit are the Apex & Elysium collections. I was a fooled by this. Should have known better because this is a dishonest brand. They send free bottles to everybody to buy positive bullshit reviews. Hope this brand burns in hell. You'd have to be an utter retard to purchase this in retail price and an even more retard to falsely claim that this actually smells masculine and good. Omar from School of Scents... something's wrong with your nose.
try Bujairami London Vice its supposed to be dupe of this
The cumim note is real and makes you feel uncomfortable like someone didn’t have a shower for days Pass on this one Oceania is better
Another citrus Windex with a hint of rum. Overrated. 5/10
People who say Burlington smells like body odor have probably never smelled real body odor. Burlington has a sharp, citrusy, slightly funky character that can come across as challenging at first, but comparing it to actual body odor feels like a huge exaggeration.
The more I wore this the more I began to appreciate it. You get high quality grapefruit accord along with a burst of spices. Its masculine, old money, Id wear this to a business casual brunch/dinner/ running errands.
Gingery, sparkling, minty opening that you can catch wafts of BO off of after about 30 minutes. I kept smelling myself, and it wasn't me. Overall, it's a good fragrance, but the consensus that this has a BO undertone is deserved and TRUE. Glad a freind passed along a sample to try. I almost bought this one a while back; dodged a bullet.
i mean i really enjoy the smell but it's also so faint and so simple for the price..kinda torn on this one but definitely would wear this any day of the week if i had the chance in terms of scent alone. not to mention the bottle is beautiful.
“Burlington 1819” does not simply open—it awakens, as though a window has been thrown wide onto a morning that insists upon being lived. At first breath, there is lime: vivid, luminous, almost trembling in its clarity. Yet it is not alone. It is held—no, cradled—within the soft, velvety hush of fresh mint, a mint so tender and silky that it feels less like a note and more like a presence. The citrus here refuses vulgarity; it is neither bitter nor sugared into artifice. Instead, it is airy, sparkling, and strikingly photorealistic, as though one were standing in the very grove, the oils still alive beneath the skin of the fruit. And then, with quiet inevitability, the lime yields—not abruptly, but as a thought transforms into another. It becomes mandarin, not in peel but in pulp: fresh, crisp, almost tactile in its juiciness. The mint persists, and here it reveals its true nature. It is divine—not sharp, not medicinal, but soft, almost sensual, its freshness carrying a subtle, undeniable allure. The heart emerges gently, without rupture. Ginger, musk, and vanilla converge into something unexpectedly radiant. There is sweetness, yes, but it smiles rather than clings. It is bright, youthful, and composed, avoiding entirely the suffocating weight that so often burdens such accords. One senses balance here—not imposed, but intrinsic. From this brightness, a deeper warmth unfolds. Cashmerewood enters like a quiet confidant, soft yet assured, its surface lightly spiced and delicately infused with rum. This is not indulgence, but refinement—a gourmand note rendered with restraint and elegance, never tipping into excess. What reveals itself, in the end, is a composition of remarkable coherence: citrus and mint in lucid harmony, tender vanilla woven through, cashmerewood grounding the structure, and spices that shimmer rather than shout. It is unmistakable, original, and curiously unbound by convention—neither masculine nor feminine, but something more honest, more human. And yet, in its final act, the fragrance sharpens. The drydown is crisp, with a quiet masculine edge—not exclusionary, but assertive. It lingers with intention, leaving behind not merely a scent, but a signature. This is not a perfume for hesitation. It belongs to those who are willing to declare themselves—to sign their name, boldly and without apology, in something both original and unforgettable.
ممتع عطر صيفي حمضي النعناع واضح مع الحمضيات اداءه متوسط او اقل يستقر في النهاية على رائحة الرم والسويت الخفيف
first time I put this on it reminded me a little of a sweaty worker i realize now that the worker was not sweaty the worker was just wearing burlington 1819 now this is for when you want to larp as someone classy who actually has their life together. Just make sure you bring some with you if you're gonna be out for more than 4-5 hours to keep the facade going, because this fades away quickly Anyone saying otherwise is just lying don’t trust them. Do not wear this anywhere to where it could be mistaken for body odor, not a gym smell at all, people will think u stink. overall W
I have a tester bottle of this (65% full) I’m in Riyadh KSA, if someone’s interested then feel free to drop a message
