a little boozy and pungent around the edges, but other than that i hate it smells like a cougar whose sense of hygiene left with her fourth babydaddy

Анонім

I thought it could have been a bit sweeter. To me, it wasn’t sweet at all. It has a dark, woody scent. 8/10

Анонім

It smells as if you mixed a diaper with vanilla and rum it’s nice tho very strong projection definitely weird

This smells like a pretentious, well dressed man sat on a train drinking and m&s tinny on his way to an office Christmas do. The rum and fruit together to me smelled overwhelmingly like a mince pie. I hate mince pies.

Wannabe posh type stuff. Hard to handle the power it packs, you really must be totally with it to be able to rock this consistently. Suffocating, especially in the hot. It’s so brash and unapologetic that it’s a certain occasion and/or specific lifestyle scent. It psychologically enforces party mode. Fills the room as most TF do. Mature wearer would have easier time with it, more decadent rather than shouty for the sake of being noticed. Well suited for someone with a strong spicy natural body smell, if it’s a match it’s a match. Mindful choice to wear this to a casino, please the peers at a poker table, roulette, etc. Blends pleasantly with cigar smell on your skin and clothes. What ultimately drew me away is a slight but significant laconic undertone, a pull from vanilla to caramel territory, excessive potency. I appreciate things that are faithfully shaped and designed to one’s comfort first and foremost, this is the baseline I judge from. This perfume is below it.

Oh TF, we meet again. I just can’t seem to get into you. On my skin this momentarily reminds me of whisky before veering into strong playdough territory. It’s dark, it’s smokey playdough. Cheap vanilla, anyone? Maybe I just don’t live in the right weather for TF, maybe it’s Maybelline.

Sold my pre reform bottle of this but kept a decant and I kept coming back to it. Finally rebought a replacement original private blend bottle. I don’t get the deep resinous vanilla like a lot of others. To me it’s more of a candied Vanille. Light, but decadent. More gourmand than any other Vanille in the tom ford line. One of my favorite fragrances to layer with something else as well. It’s as feminine leaning as I wear but I keep coming back it to it. I think it’s truly unisex. I would love this on a woman too.

Smells like you mixed some vanilla inside a make-up bag. Sounds weird but it somehow works well.

It's definitely just overall all right Vanilla, I'm on the search for my favorite vanilla scent and this one definitely was too smoky for that. But it's is a very nice and a good masculine vanilla I think? But I personally wouldn't wear.

Анонім

My most recent signature scent, screams FEMININE POWER!

Анонім

Had great expectations. sweet acid and strident. so sad :(

Анонім

I decided to declutter (older formula).

I was expecting this to be similar to Tobacco Vanille but its very different. I get a subtle orange creamyness but not like a creamscicle. It's very faint. I'll be giving this one to my wife

Made me sleep with the guy I didn’t find attractive at all, until I smelled this on him on a random date. So I guess it is a good one. I like him now.

This was my signature scent at one point. It is a very boozy, woody vanilla that is so smooth and well blended it’s hard to pull the notes apart. The fruit and coffee notes don’t jump out separately but are blended into a warm haze along with the other notes. I used to love to layer this with a couple sprays of TV by Tom Ford to add some spice and sweetness. The combo created a moody, dark, mysterious scent that fits my style, I was often chased down and asked what I was wearing! I have read reviews of the new reformulated version claiming it is not the same and not as good so I’m savoring my last 1/4 a bottle and therefore rarely wear it. I will eventually test the new version but I’m not counting on loving it so I have mostly moved on. But this is a great scent that I have loved Intensely!

Анонім

It's so mysterious and screams luxury. A woody vanilla but not like Tobacco Vanille. This one is more on the sweet side kinda vanilla. Definitely a winter scent. I love this

my top vanilla fragrance , way more better than tobacco vanile ..!

Dark, boozy vanilla. A very complex scent. Many notes lend it some bitterness: myrrh, wood, coffee, artemisia, oakmoss. The texture is dry and powdery, yet also carries the juicy richness of plums, and a creamy vanilla at the base. The florals add a hint of delicacy. It feels rich, dark, quiet, and mature. I think, from certain angles, you can perceive it as an incense scent.

i bought a tiny sample of this and its absolutely NOT what i expected (。ᵕ ◞ _◟) tbf im not very experienced with what specific notes smell like alone & in combination w each other, so my expectations mightve been super stupid but.. i thought this was going to be like a deep, smoky but still delicious vanilla. to me it just smells like grandma. and not a cute grandma, im sorry. i know this phrase is frowned upon but i really dont know how else to describe it. it smells like my grandma's house which shes always smoking in. all her furniture has this stench. i love her to bits !! but yeah, it smells like old clothes hanging in a closet that havent seen the light of day for months, maybe even years. i do notice the spice but its not very pleasant to me. but im a pure gourmand girly so maybe this is just out of my nose's league lol ! this is my first time venturing into more luxurious fragrances so i might just not have been ready for that yet :D glad i only got a tiny sample ! and hopefully thisll help me gauge whether i like certain notes better :3

Vanille Fatale is a smoky, heavy vanilla that opens with lots of spice and a nice dose of rum~Everything is well blended, it can be hard to pick out the other notes but it has enough complexity to know they're there! The drydown is mostly smoky vanilla This is a very cool or mature vanilla that's a little edgy (if not slightly masculine) and unabashedly sexy.. It evokes a femme fatale smoking in her mink coat, or a sultry lawyer that runs her own firm and shows up to work in the highest designer heels~ Unfortunately, I'm not quite badass enough for a scent like this! Its a bit too overpowering, and I get a headache if I try to sniff my arm too long even to review it due to the woody and smokey notes. It lasts and lasts and lasts even after a good scrub! It'll usually linger on me into the next day. I'd say its best in cold weather and better for night? My final verdict is that I'm probably not a TF girl, though the idea is oh so chic.. Everything I've tried reads a bit too masculine or heavy for me, even though I see why so many others rave about them! They're luxe and it shows~ I picked up Vanille Fatale hoping it would be the option that aligned with my tastes best, but I think that I'm just more into brighter, softer and sweeter scents~ I like this, for someone else!

Its good but also smells like an old lady

Анонім

it reminded me of baileys without milk. rum is so definite and you cannot smell others

Анонім

If anyone has a bottle of this original version, let me know. Looking for backups!

This is EXACTLY what I THOUGHT Black Opium would be from its marketing and notes list. Absolutely sublime

I tried this today and immediately fell in love, it reminds me of that rich aunt that just does whatever she wants and is unapologetic. The vanilla appears more on the dry down, I find this very warm and powdery. The name represents this so well, if you like warm pwdery balsamic scents you will adore this! A beautiful oriental vanilla!

broooooo, this smells like Jager and baby powder. I'm nauseous and it really sticks to ya😂

I’m very selective when it comes to vanillas, I don’t like it when it’s too gourmand-leaning but this one hits all the right spots !! After having JPG Classique EDP, I’ve been drawn to vanilla-esque booze, spiced cola, and play dough scents. That scent profile is basically one of the scents I hunt for nowadays and this is one of them. VF starts a bit tart, not too much citrus but it has that slight zest (which I’m not a fan of) mixed with the metallic coriander. Not gonna lie I was kinda disappointed on the initial spray because it had that unwashed hair mustiness (or let’s say musk to be polite) which gave an impression of a sweaty smell. Thankfully, this fragrance gets better towards the dry down. After the initial spray, it starts developing to a dry, dusty, and not so spicy concoction. In this stage, you’d definitely think you’re about to enjoy the spicy resins but surprise! It gets overpowered by a LITERAL PLAY-DOH VANILLA and it stays that way until its last hour of wear. I’m not the biggest fan of gourmand vanillas, I prefer my vanillas in a woody, peppery, leathery, smoky, and play-doughy sense (and this is one of those !!). Even if the play-doh scent in this one gives it a gourmand twist due to its lactonic almond nuances, I still appreciate it bc the dusty resins and spiced balsams keep it grounded and not overtly gourmand. Longevity is great, probably an hour of projection then turns into a skin scent for the next 6 hours. if ur after a play-doh vanilla with an initial edge, this is a cute pick !!

Old oud scent no vanilla didn't like it

This is probably the most notes I've ever seen for a vanilla fragrance. And yet, they all blend together well to create a very complex and deep vanilla scent. Do I detect every element? No. Whether that is by design or my untrained nose, I am not sure. It is unlike any other vanilla frag I have smelled and would be hard to imitate. It's sophisticated and not overwhelming or cloying. Very unique for the category. But all together, Vanille Fatale is a powerhouse. I don't know if my sample is the original or the new reformulation. But I smell some fruit and this one has the fruit.

Lovely fragrance, very well made, but a bit too sweet for my taste. I’m selling or open to trading a 50ml bottle, about 85% full. Based in Spain.
