This would be my signature. Seriously, Tom Ford can get bent. This should have never been discontinued. Since it has been I haven't bought a single thing by him. Such a shame. Bring back Sahara Noir too!

I have always loved this perfume. I stocked up on it. I sense it as a carnal, musc, flowerperfume. suede, orris, benzoin, vetiver, cedar all, give it a ferm base. violetleaf, jasmine and iris lend it a chic radiation. it is an expensive smelling perfume and you feel like a million bucks going out. I have also always loved all things Tom Ford. his guccified Gucci very much superior to what Alexandre Michele now thinks he upbrands the brand with bizarre victoriana and aliens on the catwalk. Tom does sexy, sex, and this perfume is no exception. it is as much refined as it is dense. bravo ! the secret with this perfume is that it claws you in as the time goes by. it really is a ravishing yet also daunting floral fragrance. as far as the Violet goes, it has lost it's innocense and gained the Pull of the Undergrowth. it is a refined yet also Seductive perfume Magnetizing and Radiating alike.

I was blessed by the discontinued scent Gods earlier this year as I found a sealed 100ml Violet Blonde in such a good price, then I had to sold it since I feel very underdressed everytime I *attempted* to wear Violet Blonde…… I need a purple leather jacket, extra big + wavy blonde wig with a full coverage dead-matte makeup from 2016 to be able to pull it off with confidence.

Hi i am new to this forum. But I have been reading through all the comments and it has helped me on my perfume journey, more so a perfume addiction. But enjoying it none the less! Anyway I just want to add to this review. I have not tried the original but for those of you who miss it dearly that I found a fantastic dupe for it, it is from perfume parlour based in the UK but I believe they ship overseas. I've got very many of there scents and there great for ones that have been discontinued that you can't find even within the middle Eastern perfumes which I absolutely adore too. But the dupe for this is called light purple 0427.its beautiful I never realised how much I love violet in perfumes but this is amazing so much so I have 2x50ml bottles and 2x100 ml bottles. Edp version . They also do extraits. You can have any size starting from a 2ml sample. They also have oils, body lotions, shower gels ect. Check them out and read the reviews on each one. But they have pretty much every perfume you can think of. From designer to niche you name it they have it.. I hope this post helps someone reading this.

It smells more like iris than violet to me. The iris combines with juicy, sweet orange in the beginning and soon turns into a powder bomb. The base has sweet, milky musk and resins. It’s nice, but it can sometimes be a bit sharp.

I love this fragrance! It's exuding a modern and sophisticated businesswoman. The composition is velvety and is well complimented by the top notes of pepper and mandarin, which add a bit of brightness to prevent it from going straight powder. Although the powder from the velvet and iris/orris is definitely there, and it's beautiful. The base notes of benzoin, vetiver, cedar and musk, with that touch of soft suede further complement the purple florals so well, and I can pick up on them more on the drydown. Overall this fragrance is beautiful and is truly an ode to violet.

@LotsofLisa76 I actually did (last week in fact) snag a bottle of both VB and Black Orchid from Mercari at a really good price! 😁

@elvequeen81 Mercari has VB galore. I bought a bottle a few months ago for sentimental reasons, but I do really like it too. Velvet Orchid is another Tom Ford I love, same type bottle, but purple. They smell vintage, not juvenile, like a rich auntie with her ish together.

This fragrance is a fairly new discovery for me but I already love it so much.💜 I found out about it from YouTuber The Fragrantician's list of "gothic sensual perfumes." Her description of it intrigued me so much that I ordered a sample vial of it from eBay. I fell in love with it straight away. When that ran out I ordered a dupe of it from Quality Fragrance Oils, which I'd say is a 98% match to the original. Anytime I wear it, my friend-turned-boyfriend can't keep his hands off me (even more so than usual). If TF ever brought this back I think I would ugly cry.

Ughhh, Violet Blonde is a big NO from me 😩. It’s giving powdery + old-lady vibes and not in a classy way. The violet note felt kind of old-fashioned, almost “grandma-ish,” and it didn’t blend well with the rest sooo harsh, it actually made me feel queasy. For Tom Ford, I expected luxe but this is flat-out disappointing. Save your coins, besties - this ain’t it!

I ADORE, ADORE, ADORE THIS PERFUME! It has a poetic and refined aura. It’s an intellectual fragrance. I’m incredibly happy I found a bottle that seems to be from the first year of production – A51. If anyone can confirm that, I’d be very grateful.

Violet is an elegant young lady with an old soul. She is a sleek blond in a purple dress who smells of clean iris soap and powder. She is enthusiastic and loud when she first greets you but soon becomes self conscious and reduces her tone to a whisper. Unlike many other ladies from the Tom Ford family she is shy and won’t stay around for more than 4 hours. However she is more beautiful than her cousins Rose, Peach and Cherry. They all dress expensively and are femme Fatale but she and Jasmine in the red dress (Rouge) has more class.

This is full on suede & musk on me, some soft sweetness probably the jasmine. My bottle is 10 years old, a bargain at London airport duty free. 1/4 left not as powerful as it was but that's not a bad thing, still going after 6 hours on my wrist but doesn't project like it used to. I love violet but I don't get any violet with this. I am wearing Oska heavy grey linen today so this is perfect with the outfit.

Opening's VERY creamy smooth and well balanced without being too overpowering moderate-ish projection (8H) noticeable but not too overwhelming it’s a bit on the sweet side and not super versatile. kinda feels like a date night or chill evening scent—not your everyday gym or office juice definitely worth trying

The dry down of this fragrance is exquisite. This being discontinued is criminal.

GLAMOUR IN A BOTTLE She captivates the room with her elegance. Such a stunning scent. One of my favourites and all my classics from 2010 to 2015 era are sadly being discontinued. I guess it adds to its rarity.

This is honestly one of the best Tom Ford fragrances I've ever experienced... Obviously it's discontinued so it's not extremely easy to get, though it's more a matter of what you're willing to pay versus finding a bottle... I do remember when this launched and I don't remember it being very expensive (it's signature line, not private blend after all) but it does actually smell like there's real orris in here... It's a really well-structured iris/powdery musk with a little twist of brightness up top ... If I have one complaint it's just that generic "pink pepper" that was sooooooo popular at that time which lasts into the drydown and then lasts and lasts and lasts and in the end, you just smell that pepper note... To be honest it's not altogether unpleasant but I wish the leather or even some animalic aspect lingered longer... But I'm being really picky because honestly, it's GREAT... I would probably even pick up a backup bottle of this because Iris fragrances are so subjective and I happen to think this is one of the best. BTW the violet is there but it's not matronly and as a guy I don't find it off-putting or terribly feminine (not that I'd really care either way)... The vetiver is also prominent in the drydown giving it a colder edge than you might expect from the description. Can anyone tell me the perfumer? I'd really love to know....

a bi*chy version of l'Instant de guerlain edt bright floral juicy green, very dzing!, very retro, very Tom Ford

I had to review this one after revisiting my bottle 5 years later. This scent is truly beautiful. A warm blanket of violet petals scattered over silky iris root. Pink pepper is prominent, and adds a bit of mystery to this one. The vibe is both luxurious and vintage. There is nothing quite like this one on the market right now. It truly deserves more recognition.

This perfume has a super strong retro feel, as if you have transported back in time to the ambience of a 1940s or 1950s cabaret, and you have accidentally wandered backstage into a dressing room, where a string powdery synthetic make up scent drifts through the air towards you, surrounded by all that old-school glamour and a vanity table perfectly laid out with toiletry products. I personally do not find this as compelling as many of the other perfumes within Tom Ford's product line. I can understand the rationale behind his choice to discontinue this scent in question, as it feels rather disconnected and old fashioned, I personally think it does not fully align with the identity that Tom Ford has become known for in the luxury fragrance market. I genuinely wanted to like this perfume, but the scent was not agreeable with my olfactory perception. It has got a very mature, grandma-ish vibe like a traditional bouquet of flowers on display in a nursing home, which isn’t the image 22 year old me wants to and should project. Hence the positive aspects of the perfume for me is that it feels comforting and brings back memories of my grandma which taps into sentimental memories and evokes a sense of nostalgia, taking me back to the scent of makeup traces I used to find on the collars of my Grandmothers blouses. The scent feels very familiar and recognisable in that way however even though it holds that personal connection it’s not a scent I would reach for often so it will not have a place in my life.

I do like this but I prefer a more candied violet. I do adore the dry down though. I have a 100ml bottle 85% full that I’m selling. Send me a message if you’re interested and in CONUS- sold

I wish i could love unconditionally this " Violet Blonde"by Tom Ford,but unfortunately I won't, because I have a real idiosyncrasy about pink pepper, and unfortunately this note is very present almost covering the other notes , from the beginning to the end of the evolution. What a pity, for me, I mean...

This is the love child of Dior's Homme Intense and Guerlain's Insolence, leading a little bit more on the Insolence side. Powdery iris and sweet violets combined with a hint of spice from the pink pepper. Suede is in there but not strong, it just adds more powder. I don't find it similar to Paris Balenciaga which to me it's a greener violet while VB is more sensuous powdery. 10/10 from me.

DUA has a dupe called Dua's Blondie for $33.00. I never smelled the original, but the dupe shows 5 stars on the DUA website.

My gosh! I am so happy I decided to purchase this!! I’ve been strolling down the Iris and Violet fragrance rabbit hole as of late. First it was Dior Homme (2017 bottle) and Dior Homme original. Then Dior Homme intense- all wonderful sort of fresh and woody irises except intense that’s more chocolate vetiver and Iris. Then Valentino Uomo and Guerlian Iris Torrefie. Great. Then Insolence edt and Ombré leather Parfum- Neon Violet candies and Luxury leather. Violet blonde is both playful Violet candies and plush luxury leather jacket. The Violet leaf adds just enough green to keep the Violet candy toned down and sophisticated. It wears closer to the skin than Insolence and I wish it projected more but that’s just me. This is very sexy. I’m getting images of 90’s pin ups - Dita Von Teese.

Not a fan of this. The top note is far too strong for me and I don't like it - not sure what it is but assuming to other reviews I think iris?
