This is soooo beautiful but SO faint that I honestly wonder if it got diluted by the eBay seller or something. Like i do get all the listed notes but I have to REALLY go heavy on it. It is a splash so maybe a spray would be different idk. I do like it I just wish it was louder. Boyfriend says it smells like water.

I personally think this is a unisex fragrance. It's suitable not only for women but for men as well, and it has a very elegant and lovely scent. The longevity and projection are incredible—even after two days, I was still getting asked about my perfume! Layering this with Gucci Guilty Elixir is absolutely amazing.

my most complimented fragrance of all time - even had my teachers and strangers compliment my fragrance, what a time 😪

This perfume is one if its kind imo, it doesn’t have a overwhelming scent and sometimes it doesn’t even smell like something but whenever I wear this perfume (especially in the night) everybody compliments it. If I had to explain this scent it smells like vibrant yet dark purple,a scent of a woman who is alluring, the one makes you tremble while you speak yet she makes you feel that you can trust her. She’s mysterious and she knows what she wants. And also this scent reminds me of art deco style. If I had to wear this perfume with something I’d definitely wear it with leather boots. The whole outfit will follow dark colors but there will be one thing makes it eye catching such as a diamond necklace. This scent is amazing for a blind buy and I assure you, you will get lots of compliments with this!

I have the EDP . Its Cute but I dont reach for it. Im going to rehome my FB. Let me know if youre interested.

The EDP is my favorite! I love it so much

To me, during spring time, it smells a bit fresher than during summer. During summer it is more coconuty.. very sophisticated perfume, beast performance. I'm talking about edp.

Perhaps I got a bad decanter, but I expected much more from this based on all the positive reviews. On my skin, it is a slightly sweet floral scent without much character. Sadly, I don’t get any interesting spices at all. It also disappears extremely quickly: after half an hour, I can barely smell it anymore. Strange.

I have this. It's vintage. Marks and Spencers Under the Palms smells the same. Crazy They both give me a headache but I love them anyway

The whole Crystal noir line is perfection. This one Opens up with a juicy & spicy Ginger that smells like Ginger Beer (I love ginger Beer) and then transitions into a lovely & creamy Garden of white florals & coconut, the dry down isnt really THAT smellable to me because I feel like once that lactonic gardenia takes Center everything else is just a whisper. Bomb longevity , bomb sillage and also affordable. But they really fucked up with one thing, and that is making all 3 bottles Look exactly the Same, Most people in the reviews dont even know which one they are talking about coz they all Look the Frigging Same, poor Marketing decision.

After hating it for years due to its syrupy tanning oil scent, I started craving its tanning lotion woody character as I grew older. I caved in and bought it 2 yrs ago while still living in the States. I recall the original formulation to be less musky sour at the drydown and more decadent, so the peony note must have been tweaked a bit cuz the later drydown is leaning towards the sour ambroxan side and I ain't crazy about that but I adore this scent so I don't care. It's a bit drier tho than what it used to be when I hated it haha. Other than that I adore how creamy woody it is like pencil shavings done right, with its unique tanning lotion vibe. My hate for the dusty stale pencil shavings effect started with Sensuous Nude which has both pink and black pepper and coconut and the coconut acts as an ozonic factor amplifying the dusty peppery effect. So Crystal Noir was the perfume that made me love a slight dusty pencil shavings rewarding my patience with a gorgeous milky sandalwood. As I've said for TF Soleil Blank, the cardamom-coconut pairing does wonders emulating a sweet tanning oil scent. It's not the Carroten tanning oil scent of Happy Spirit by Chopard with the raspberry honeysuckle amber blend or the petitgrain lavender mandarin aquatic tanning lotion scent of Libre and it's not the masculine cardamom lavender tanning lotion scent of Korres Vetiver Root, but it is a unique tanning lotion woody scent in its own league. All of the above scents are iconic to me as much as this one. Crystal Noir Edp is a sister to Montana 80 and I had a love hate relationship with it back in my early 20s, it made me nauseous and had to kiss it goodbye. Crystal Noir is the best rep of the woody league. It has the signature sawdust pencil shavings sandalwood scent that becomes creamy and lactonic as it should be amplified by the gardenia and coconut, paired with the tanning lotion impression. It is slightly dusty by the peppery cardamom and black pepper influence in the opening only, and I'll type here what I said for its distant cousin Completely Santal by The Dua for Santal Complet also featuring coconut, amber, black pepper and sandalwood but it's not like tanning lotion and it's overly dusty. I've realized that much of the dusty or stale elements in sandalwood dominant scents like Estee Lauder Sensuous Nude or Police Rich Girl (a different scent profile) and in Crystal Noir, stem from the pink pepper (mainly) or sometimes black pepper and dry amber pairing rather than the sandalwood itself even though the black pepper and cedar combo for instance in 007 Bond for women isn't dusty at all, so the sandalwood definitely contributes to the dusty effect but peppery accords are the culprit. Just like vetiver can be dusty (or smoky or more creamy and smooth) and influencing the sour unripe fig in scents like KKW Rare Fig to smell dusty woody too. Luckily here the peppery dusty effect doesn't dominate the scent. The lumber yard woody sandalwood is the queen of Crystal Noir EDP. Truly a masterpiece. I want to try the Noir Parfum with the black currant and lactonic caramel orchid. Caramel, vanilla, orchid paired together usually create a marzipan effect with or without coconut as in Vanilla Touch La Rive. Noir Parfum features pink pepper which I'm not crazy about and Akigalawood which has a patch like fresh spice to it as it does in Khamrah.

Expectation Vs reality wtf. I expected something dark, sexy, and mysterious, but all I get is a creamy, kind of sweet, fresh lemony floral scent. Instead of a bold statement/femme fatale fragrance, it feels innocent and honestly slightly generic. The more it dries down, the more it leans surprisingly unisex, almost with a masculine attitude.for a sexy guy. It’s a 'Modern Fresh Spicy' composition, not a mysterious femme fatale scent. Maybe the secret to being sexy is all about the element of surprise, when men catch that hint of masculine strength on a woman, completely unexpected.(like libre also)

I cannot be without Crystal Noir. This is my nighttime signature for fall/winter. Dark feminine energy in a bottle. 😈💕💋

I honestly don’t understand the hype around Crystal Noir. I had read reviews describing it as a sexy, mysterious and seductive fragrance, but my experience was completely different. The opening gave me some hope. There was something that felt feminine and slightly sweet at first, and I thought maybe I was going to understand the appeal. Unfortunately, that impression disappeared very quickly. As it dried down, it transformed into a bitter woody scent that strongly reminded me of a masculine fragrance. Not a sexy, mysterious kind of masculine - more like an overpowering cologne that makes me feel uncomfortable. The dry down becomes a strange mix of woody notes, soapiness and a powdery smell that I find extremely unpleasant. I even left the sample strip overnight, and the next morning I walked into the room and immediately noticed the smell. I actually had to throw it away because it was taking over the space. For me, this is not a seductive or elegant fragrance. It is a very strong, bitter, woody-clean scent that gives me a headache and even makes me feel nauseous. Definitely not a match for my taste.

I would define this smell as a fresh and sultry coconut smell. Not for people who don’t like coconut. Literally Coconut aftershave smell.

I wish people took more note of which version of Crystal Noir they have. There's EDT, EDP and Parfum and they are so very different. The EDT is weak, soft, floral, sharp spicy and disappears after an hour or two. None of the warmth or depth I love in the Parfum. The EDP is similar to the Parfum but leans soapy. It's sharper and more airy than the Parfum. Lasts for about 4 hours on me. The Parfum is by far the most beautiful version. It is loud. It is confident and sexy. Seductive, deep warmth. Dark feminine. Oriental floral, spicy, creamy, sweet , almost gourmand. Yet it stays clean. It has amazing longevity and sillage. I can smell it on my clothes even days after. Definitely a femme fatale scent.

I liked this more in the store. For me, I just feel pepper and some gardenia. Meh. Although I got compliments for this one.

There are actually 3 versions of this, the EDT, the EDT, and the Parfum. They're all listed on Fragrantica...

VERSACE NOIR - PARFUM ....and the PARFUM part is incredibly important to remember, for there are TWO versions of this, the other is the Eau de Toilette (which in my honest opinion os a country mile better than the Parfum). I find the Parfum to be an unholy mess, and I have owned my bottle for 2 years now and have kept trying it and keep getting a mess of notes - it's not sophisticated, it's like smelling perfume from chalk sticks - it's not a smooth blend and makes me feel a little nauseous. The Eau De Toilette is a different story, it's very beautiful and airy.

the very first whiff of this scent, and i was falling in love with the delicate freshness of it instantly. i will always cherish the way it starts off slightly spicy (thanks to cardamon, mostly!), and then gradually dissolves into something incredibly light. even before i looked at the pyramid, i've known this softness of gardenia, and it reminded me of one of my favourite songs; and when it just stays on you with that light sweetness… absolute masterpiece. it's summer and spring coded perfume to me, and it lingers for a significant amount of time (especially if sprayed upon clothing), so it's going to one of my favourites this year <3 <3

Анонім

I'm surprised at this being voted for mostly as a winter perfume because, to me, it is very fresh and almost clean in a way? It's spicy but the spices don't weigh it down at all and all in all it feels quite light whilst still having a strong profile. I get a lot of the coconut and the ginger, then the white florals, which to me are fairly indolic, and then a little musk, and least of all the sandalwood and cardamom. No amber for me at all. This is slightly sweet and feminine without being cloying (which is quite a feat in late 30s to 40s degrees celsius), and I definitely get how this reads as a very soapy scent, and there was a time where I could not smell anything but that soapiness if i put this on, which led to me basically abandoning it, but almost a year later, I can very easily ignore that aspect of it and enjoy it. I love wearing this after a shower because, like I said, it strangely reads as my version of a clean girl scent, which of course is still incredibly rich and stimulating and is doing a lot, which I personally love. My curl gel smells like coconuts so that probably helps this along for me post hair wash. Maybe the soapiness is what gives this that clean vibe? Whatever it is, no complaints.

with the very first spritz, grains of black pepper and sharp ginger strike sparks upon your skin. this opening is misty, distant, and proud like a match suddenly struck in the dark. soon, the waves settle, and the fragrance sinks into a deep silence. warm, dark coconut milk poured over black silk intertwines with the luxurious, soapy purity of snow-white gardenia petals. your skin falls into the creamy slumber of a dark flower. as hours fade, only the warm memory of the night remains. amber and woody notes melt with your skin’s own warmth, turning into a powdery, shadowy, and mesmerizing whisper. it is like the final echo of a finished song lingering in the room. a night poem written with black spices by a white flower washed in the moonlight. i think the woman who uses this perfume is gliding like a riddle through the dim room in the folds of her black silk dress, who carries the night upon her skin leaves behind an unforgettable poem of white flowers washed in moonlight and mystic spices. Her steps are distant, her gaze as deep as the final stanza of a cryptic song, for she is an enchanted soul living not in the noise of the crowd, but in the noble elegance of her own darkness.

It smells like powdered laundry detergent i mean it smells clean i guess wasnt expecting it to be extremely soapy

Not bad. Has a bread note and a rubber note.

Fresh masculine first impresion with a soft coconut base. Within seconds the freshness mellows and settles in the coconut. After a minute the peony, musk and amber are very prominent, and headache inducing, but they eventually settle and the fragrance becomes a beautiful gardenia , peony and musk fragrance. Very elegant and feminine. I can imagine an elegant Bella Dona, dressed in white wandering the Amalfi Coast. Great for summer

This is not what I expected! I tried the Emerald version recently and was astonished by how it smelled on me: literally as if I'd sprayed myself with Ariel or Tide laundry detergent. But I was (am?) still on the search for another evening perfume to match my beloved Code, and kept reading about how popular this was, how many compliments women received wearing it etc., so when I found a 30mL bottle for a decent price thought I'd try it... ...and now I have a spicy soap perfume! Seriously, how do they make it so soapy? I do roughly pick up the notes, and the dry down is OK. Although it's definitely not my usual type of floral/fruity or musky scent I can see myself wearing it on cool evenings, but I'm surprised by the positive reviews of it and actually think Fragrantica's current rating is pretty fair.

I wear this on the hottest, stickiest days of the year. Its perfect for heatwaves. Tropical, airy, clean, and mystical. It works perfectly at the beach, in the city, or poolside during high heat. And to top it off, its a champion for its incredible lasting power, billowing projection, and ethereal silage. Crystal Noir is a cooling perfume. Not a warm one. It gives off refrigerated coconut cream, or the relief of an air conditioned hotel in the tropics. Soothingly decadent for brutal weather. And, i should say, i do occasionally wear it in other seasons, but i like it best in summer. I find Manceras Wild Python to be a close sibling to Crystal Noir if not a twin with minor differences, in scent even if not in notes, and Wild Python also lasts and projects gorgeously. It’s also less soapy if that is a factor that bugs you in CN.

In 23°C weather it is delightful. Coconut leads, with hints of cardamon and sandalwood. Gardenia adds creamy softness. If it fits summer weather with its interesting scent profile, it will be perfect for the whole year day and night. There is both darkness and lightness in this scent. In a way it does remind me of hair conditioner scent in a good way. It is creamy, rich but does not feel like too much. And to think that my first contact with it was a nightmare - all I felt was bitter and overly strong floral note. Was my skin of wrong ph for it then? Now I have a fresh miniature so maybe it was reformulated, but I dont know since it is clearly a sister to Bright Crystal, Yellow Diamond and Emerald Crystal in style. They all smell like cosmetics and are lovely in hot weather. This one, additionally, should be winter perfect. The floral notes radiate on the more woody canvas, but the performance is not overwhelming, rather calm and elegant. Projects nicely about 4-5 hours already and I am not surprised about its popularity. It feels very pampering.

My Signature scent. I've been in love with this since i first got a sample in 2010, and even with reformulations it still remains my most used and most complimented. I've had both the EDT and the EDP and i think both are truly similar but for preference i think i'll stick with the EDP. It's clean, fresh, warm, soapy (in a delightfully creamy/coconutty way) that i simply can't get enough of. 10/10 A true masterpiece in my opinion...it's not for everyone BUT i'm so glad that this works well with my chemistry because i just can't see myself without this perfume.
