Super clean linen musk. Very classy and professional mass appealing. Signature scent worthy. 10/10
⬇⬇⬇⬇ bro this scent is not supposed to be a beastmode. It's made for the elegant put together gentlemen.
goddammit, another incredible scent that's unfortunantly horrendous in it's performance
Lasts 30 minutes.
Oh you should've seen this when it came out. The performance wasn't loud but it was way different than it is now. It was a richer scent, chic, elegant and It lasted on a shirt for a long time. Now it's just a faded, watered-down version of what it was. I wish this cameback to be what it once was. My signature for a long, long while.
I have this and like it but it has no business being so expensive. The fragrance is 20 years old, c'mon guys, it should be in the $30-$40 range.
Although Fragrantica lists the main accord as ‘Fresh Citrus’, this is actually a strongly sweet scent with synthetic amber and woody notes. That’s what I like about it. The EDP adds cardamom and lavender to the mix. 10/10
In an odd way this reminds me of Versace’s Man Eau Fraîche, just spicier and more oriental. It’s probably because I find the lemon in the opening very prominent, as well as the bergamot and cedar that both fragrances share also. This, however, is by no means a summer fragrance in my eyes. I wore this today in the middle of June and was reminded that warm spices in fragrance can be just about as cloying as sweet notes. Overall I find this fragrance sort of generic anyway — essentially a baseline spicy “masculine” fragrance — but it’s certainly an attractive scent and is quite alluring in the opening. It’s not a signature scent though; it’d work best for date nights and formal occasions, but neither warrant more than a few sprays in my opinion. Not bad.
Extremely versatile fragrance. It smells amazing, fresh and clean, works for so many occasions. Inoffensive enough for office, great during the summer and for going out, works as an everyday fragrance too. Yes the projection and longevity could be better so you can spray this quite heavily for going out I’d say
My husband have this, because Ive been buying this to him the past 10 years. I absolutely love to smell this on him! Very versatile scent, any day any season. Not overly masculine, fresh, little sweet and includes my favourite note ginger, which is dominant note in this. Perfectly balanced well blended, beautiful creation!
Sure, I get complements on this within the first hour or two of me wearing it. After that I'm forgetting if I ever put any fragrance on at all.
Is it my nose or does the newer batches smell more like la nuit than previous ones? I feel like the violet and basil are taken down a notch now which changes the profile a bit. Don't get me wrong I love La Nuit, but I own it and wanted L'homme not la nuit lite. Still smells fantastic, but different from what I remember.
Wow, fresh opening with that ginger and perfect blend of spice which becomes woody. Overall smell is amazing. Performance is average with almost intimate projection. Good daily who doesn't care about anyone else noticing the scent lol.
Who knew ginger fragrances can smell so effin good? I will always have a bottle of this handy, but it lasts only about 17 minutes so I'll overspray like I've got money to burn. Because this is the smoothest fresh fragrance ever, bar none. This is the gorgeous, intoxicating office fragrance that all fragrance influencers keep pretending Prada Lhomme is. YSL needs to create an elixir flanker for this so it lasts 4-6 hours.
9/10 The opening is very basic and a bit too citric. The dry down however, is incredible, It becomes a very cozy, warming, and relaxing scent.
My wife got me the YSL Greatest Fragrance Hits for Men and this came with it. I don’t get the same masculine vibe that others seem to talk about. It smells more like an old woman’s perfume to me and it does not last at all. I sprayed it on skin and it will be completely gone within 1 hour.
An absolute banger of a scent for younger guys. This is a sweet-fresh combo done to perfection, setting the benchmark of quality for all modern designer fragrances. For the first hour, YSL L’Homme greets you with a bright and uplifting introduction of citrus, nuanced with just a little bit of spice to make it interesting and masculine. After that, it starts to lean more towards a creamy, resinous sillage that is velvety and comforting, which to me is perfect for a school or office setting because it is assertive enough when you walk into a room, yet subtle enough to not choke out your peers in close proximity. This fragrance made a heavy impression on me in an oversaturated “blue-fragrance” landscape, and shifting trends has now alleviated this scent to become unique once again. Being extremely easy to wear on the daily, it’s a no-brainer that is also signature-worthy!
It is so refined, well blended and balanced to the point others might find it boring, but that is why I love it. It has a bit of everything, Zingy citric freshness, Subtle spices, Clean floral, Crisp greenery, On a bed of slightly powdery woody stuff, Yet nothing sticks out like a sore thumb. It is well balanced for a pleasant wearing experience. I get decent longevity with it, but it is very airy and effervescent, with subpar projection. I do wish the projection was better, yet I wouldn't trade the airy and effervescent quality for better projection. At the end of the day though, it is an absolutely gorgeous smelling fragrance. It's classy and it is a classic. It is versatile, suitable for almost any situation. It is a very charming gentlemen. It is crisp and clean. It is quite lovely. I like it better on clothes than on skin. I wear it quite often Edit: legit have to spray like 20 times to smell it. The performance is pretty bad. However, I love the smell so much. This is the only fragrance that I tolerate performance issues from.

At first I was ready to write this off as a generic masculine cologne that was like upscale Axe body spray. However once it settles, you are left with a nice powdery violet scent with gentle sweetness. It's soft and professional. I agree it's very weak projection, especially for the price.
This will be in my top 5 of all time if the performance wasn’t horrible. What a shame
What @SkyCaptain said. Hard to justify a purchase with terrible longevity and yes YSL are losing out on big money if they fix longevity issues.
Goated fragrance. A classic
Violet forward in my opinion; this will last in the 10hr+ range on my skin, short projection, minimal sillage, and a VERY pleasant fragrance. The comments from others on longevity may have more to do with projection. I can, very distinctly, smell this at the end of my 10+hr work day, however it doesn't project much after the dryoff period, vs a very strong projection up front. Again, the violet/floral notes are strong for me and overpower the other scents 85-90% of the time. The basil is there, and enhances the violet brilliantly, and vice-versa. On rare occasions I pick up the other notes, and it's always a very nice surprise, but those "surprises" are the only thing that makes this a more masculine scent. That said, any secure man can definitely pull this off; I will consider wearing for any occasion on any day with warm sunny weather. Great for special occasions, like weddings or anniversaries, in my opinion. I'll also add, I wouldn't mind this one on a woman, semi-masculine undertones and all. Again, VERY pleasant, but a more formal.
Criminal performance for such a great scent. YSL are really losing out on $$$ by not fixing the longevity. I know of so many people who love this scent but who refuses to purchase a full bottle because of the longevity.
This scent is a classic 10/10 that will stand the test of time. I will never not have a bottle of it. Its true that it doesn't last too long, but thats ok. There is a time and place for loud fragrances, but this one shines due to the fact that it is elegant while also sexy even though it works in the office. There is almost no one who will dislike this fragrance. Easy blind buy if you want something clean that isn't blue.
Reminds me of my grandfather, like it lot. Love smelling the bottle more than wearing it on myself tbh
This ones a classic, the ginger really stands out in this, smells very good. However the longevity isnt the best
I have never smelt anything so soft yet exquisite in my life. This smells of money, but for those who don't call attention. It has this 'milky' sweet fresh spicy vibe to it. Just wish it lasted longer!
Agree with both the two comments below me. It's good to have a frag that sits closer to the skin, and yes this does smell very similar to la nuit de l'homme However....I find this to be absolutely nuclear. It fills up a room and overpowers the atmosphere. And not in the best way either. It actually makes me feel sick As for the smell it's really close to Montblanc Legend night. If you're on a budget just get that and you'll be like 90% here. This is of course a higher quality, but pretty darn close. I like this but because I've had Legend night for so long this doesn't wow me like when I first tested it at the mall. It's sweeter than I remember and less chestnutty. Even though chestnut isn't a note in this it comes across nutty to me. It's also sweet like cherry a bit, which remimds me of Guerlain l'homme ideal edt It's a very sweet fragrance, and it's synthetic. In my opinion it's a cold weather fragrance and shines in the cold air. Possibly a good office scent but it's so darn strong idk, might choke people out. But I guess you could call this "office sexy" All in all I like it. It's definitely a sexy beast imo. A mature high class man would do well in it probably. But it might just be good for date night only because it's really trying hard to be sexy. Honestly I wouldn't wear this much personally because it makes me feel nauseous with the ingredients
