A warm and fuzzy fragrance. Pure cold weather comfort in a bottle. Love it

I find that small samples of fragrance do not provide a true depiction of a perfume due to the fact that the quantity doesn't necessarily allow for enough opportunity to experience longevity, sillage and even the total array of notes. Having said all this, this tiny decant of Harvest Mouse took me on a journey that was not only lovely but captivating in the sense that I only wished I had MORE to know it better! At first tiny spray on my wrists, inside my elbow and the back of my neck, I was bombarded with a very strong honey vanilla! As I am NOT a vanilla lover except in small doses, I felt a bit disappointed that the creative house of Zoologist would utilize such a conventional top note to portray this particularly cute animal. But hours later, as I pressed my nose up against my wrist, I could smell a melange of lovely notes, not easily discernible as to what exactly they were but there was a soft floral aspect along with a gentle warmth and a bit of spice which may have been the clove note. Other than that, I was at a loss with regard to the array of notes posted here in the pyramid. I do believe this sweet fragrance would be much loved by anyone who prefers gourmand leaning scents that are not overpowering or candy like. I do find it to be far more feminine but that's totally subjective on my part. I only regret not having more to truly evaluate this adorable fragrance! ADENDUM: I am still getting faint whiffs 24 hours later!

A very sweet and gentle cosy girlypop gourmand for autumn cottagecore girlies. Not exactly my vibe, so i don't wear it, but as someone who doesn't like gourmands this is a very tolerable and cute gourmand.

I can’t believe no one has mentioned that this smells exactly like hypnotic poison by Dior and also reminds of sunflowers by Elizabeth Arden???

very cozy scent! reminds me a lot of rabbit by zoologist but not quite as good. it's a bit lighter and less gourmand than that one. as a gourmand and vanilla lover, harvest mouse is great. i agree with all the reviews mentioning how it captures a perfect fall day. editing to add that the longevity of this is great and it layers beautifully with a vanilla body mist!

My #1 comfort fragrance, and 4th in line for my signature scent. Harvest Mouse is an absolutely beautiful sweet, dry, woody vanilla. It really does feel like a perfect fall day, hay rides with the family in the morning, drinking tea by the fire at night. Cottage core in a bottle.

You're sitting on a bale of hay, drinking beer with a creamy vanilla float on top, watching the sunset drop below the horizon of a wheat field. I don't get bread but theres definetly something starchy to it. The beer doesn't stick around for long and after it's departure, the smell kind of reminded me of clue's warm bulb - perhaps it's blue collar sibling. They have a similar soft ghost of a vanilla note throughout the whole composition that is very palatable even to somebody who does not usually enjoy vanilla fragrances. Very wholesome and likeable but possibly too sweet for some.

I will be savoring this sample. My favorite Zoologist perfume thus far. The perfect fall scent.

This is an amazing vanilla scent, there's a lot of complexity that I feel like you typically don't get from vanilla fragrances. I don't get the bread or malt notes, to me the vanilla is the most prominent, it's almost like you're smelling vanilla while on a farm or around animals.

Wow I received a sample of this after ordering a travel size of bee. This is beautiful. Now I want a full bottle of this. It reminds me of biting into a cream soda or root beer bottle cap candy. Love this!

I was on the fence about trying this one because I'm not a fan of vanilla but I'm glad I got a sample of this. I like it a lot. The beer note is yummy without being overwhelming. The coniferous notes are perfectly balanced by the more delicate sweet notes. I love the chammomile. It's cozy, yet bright.

Ive reviewed this before and thought it was too clovey, but I try out this sample every so often and I’ve started to warm up to it. I’m not sure if I like it enough to buy a bottle. This screams fall time, a breezy late afternoon, outside with a beer. It’s pleasantly spiced and sweet but is pretty mild and gender neutral. May get a travel size in September.

This fragrance is sweet and leans feminine without being cloying. Vanilla and florals supported by an ale note.

Wearing this feels like a cozy Sunday spent curled up in bed with a good book. It's gentle and comforting. Harvest Mouse is subtle. I sprayed twice and had to put my nose right up to my arm to smell it. I get vanilla, some spice, a hint of flowers, and a nice light woody smell. I sprayed on paper and it was a lot sweeter on paper than it was on my skin. Overall it's a very light comforting smell. It's calming and easy to wear, and I think it could be pretty versatile / used for a number of occasions. Probably one of Zoologist's more approachable scents.

light incense, crackly wood shavings, sweet ale, warm + spicy vanilla, marshmallow + hay underneath. androgynous leaning fem. feels much too cloying for me.

this is very safe and simple, unlike what i’d typically expect out of the zoologist line. i pick up on the beer note and i’m not super in love with it, it dulls the other notes and appears a bit stale in the dry down. still, the amber and vanilla are refreshingly cozy and work well together

Initially a wave of soft vanilla, dries down into more floral chamomile and hay backed by a gentle sweetness from the vanilla. Dries down quite at first a nice sweet starchy vanilla bread pastry, but then moves to more of a flat and dull hay/vanilla. No projection for me, very much a skin scent - but longevity is ok. Its a nice scent that i feel captures the animal, but its nothing special in my opinion.

Is it delicious ? yes Sweeter then i expected it? yes . With less "edgyness" then i expected. Amazing interpretation of a hazy , warm, comfortable sweet dark fragrance. Def can feel the beer, and it's deliciously done, and hay ! Chamomille yes, peru balsam is lacking...would have loved to be a bit stronger, to add more contrast. It's a vert soft, non controversial , perfume for me. It's comforting and light. I liked it a lot, and my compliments to Zoologist in general, but it was too sweet and edible, for me to go full size. If you are looking for something soft and sweet, this is your nest !

I sprayed this on my bedding. I sprayed this on me. I jızzed my pants. I sprayed it on my husband. I sprayed it in my bathroom. I want to eat it. It smells so goddamn good.

Unique. Like a warm cup of tea with milk and sugar in a cozy vanilla sweater. Definitely brings up thoughts of mice, I used to own them as pets. Also... there is a tiny bit of mouse poop in here. I can't say that isn't in here. Mouse poop doesn't smell like a horrible poop smell though, it's softer and has sweetness so it's not exactly like smelling regular poop. There is also the very faint mouse urine. It's in there. I can't say it isn't. It's memories of my old mouse cages while taking them out to do the cleaning. But think of that as not a bad smell but a good one. It is sweetly animalic. I don't think I'd wear it regularly but it was an interesting experience.

After everything I heard, I assumed this would be my favorite of the zoologist scents. After working with harvest mice themselves in a midwestern prairie grass ecosystem this (ideally) was the exact scent I was looking for. But when I actually smelled it, I did not get a natural grassy dry smell, but a vanilla so intense that it hurt. It's not horrible, but I feel like it had the potential to be so much more. It is very synthetic smelling and one note.

Bittersweet woody gourmand. It opens up with roman chamomile giving an hay feeling plus a finally well dosed eugenol (that means just a little bit, this thing is nuclear strong and so many times just overcomes every other thing in a fragrance) and some citrus in the background that stays just few minutes. At this point the fragrance suggest the scent of a country field (hay, some flowers here and there ecc...) before the vanilla and the woods start to take over (and our little mouse goes home). It seems that at home our gentlemanly mouse is serving himself a beer, and this is the first time I smell "beer" on a fragrance. Kudos to Maffei, as usually he pushes forward the perfumery without tryharding but instead finding new notes and materials to add to the classical scent profiles making them more interesting. Because after all, when the head's notes start to fade away this is a vanille-benzoin-woody gourmand, creamy, relaxing and cozy, but the "beer accord" keeps it interesting giving this "bittersweet" contrast that makes it quite original. To summarize, this is a very relaxing perfume, unisex, almost four season (or 3 if you cannot stand gourmand vanille in summer), that adds this avant-garde beer note to a classical vanilla-woody profile, representing very well the image and the narration of the "harvest mouse", this cozy little gentleman seeking for grain and barley during the day and enjoying his beer in his woody lair during the night.

Might be my favorite from zoologist so far. It really stands out. It’s young and playful and boozy and warm. I get a strong nonbinary vibe from this one.

opening is totally vicks vaporub but once you get to the dry down the warm vanilla really shines through

This fragrance is a feast from a Redwall novel: a banquet of tasty vittles after an autumn's harvest. Sepia-tone pastoral and infinitely comforting.

I really like it a lot. It is definitely one of the more subtle Zoologists I’ve tried, to the point where I had to spray it twice to really get a feel for it, but I don’t mean that in a bad way. It’s quiet, but not boring. At first, I get this soft spiciness sitting on top. I think it’s mostly clove and bergamot, but it doesn’t go overly spicy or masculine to me at all. It just gives it this warm autumnal lift. Behind that, I get a sweet wheat kind of smell, almost grainy, kind of malty. I’ve never really smelled a beer note in perfume before, but I think I can detect that quality here? Not in a loud way, more like this soft fermented grain sweetness in the background. As it dries down, the spice calms down and the vanilla comes through more. It gets sweeter with time, but not in a super obvious dessert way. It’s more like the sweetness of wheat, malt, vanilla, and dry grass all blending together. The whole scent is very balanced to me. Nothing is screaming. Nothing is trying too hard. It reminds me of autumn; being in a dry golden field or a little wooden pantry in fall, with wheat bundles, clove in the air, and this tiny warm animal nest somewhere nearby. It’s cozy, soft, and wearable. Just a sweet, grainy, warm small fluffy mouse.

A cozy and warm autumn sent. I have mixed feelings about the beer note. Overall, this smells fairly similar to Skylar’s Fall Cashmere, for double the price, so I can’t justify purchasing it for myself. It’s a pleasant scent though.
