starts off a very sweet, syrupy espresso. through the entire scent profile, it just stays smelling like super realistic, bittersweet coffee. for those specific occasions where smelling like you walked out of a cafe is a good thing, this is definitely the fragrance for you

Realistic coffee drying down to a sweet, scratchy vetiver in the best way. I normally hate vetiver, but it’s so nice in a gourmand fragrance like this! Unisex but leans masculine with the grassy edge. Love at first sniff!

I have been searching for a perfume that gives me the lovely coffee odor until I smelled awake😍. Great perfume with a prominent coffee and cardamom smell in the opening which stays almost till last and I didn’t get any vetiver notes though described! Silage :8/10 Longevity: 7/10 Over all : 8/10

It's good but overly sweet. I'm also getting some vanilla that's not listed but rolls up into the sweetness to my nose. This is coffee but in the sense that Starbucks calls a lot of its "coffee" coffee.

#1813 in my “Tour de Fragrance” My experience with Akro scents is they are simple, roll feminine and gourmand, and perform really well. But they’re like dessert from the bake shop. This leans coffee with your lemon cake. Not my jam. But scents like this work for the women I know who also go for scents like MFK’s Baccarat and Grand Soir. I don’t see guys wearing anything like this stuff. Good Luck and Good Hunting!

Don't judge this one on card, and if you put it on skin, don't judge it by the first few minutes. This is a spectacular coffee scent which actually smells very complex. There's woody, chocolatey and fresh elements swirling around, rather like when you smell quality ground coffee. Two main things set this way ahead of any other coffee perfume I've experienced. Firstly it's not sweet. Secondly it smells realistically like coffee. No other perfume has managed to do this without some added syrupy sweetness of without falling apart into something off putting (like Épices Exquises, which takes a disastrous turn into sour pickley patchouli after 30 minutes on my skin).

Super realistic savory black coffee and vetiver. Very earthy! If you're someone who likes sweet gourmand scents, I would not consider this a safe blind buy and would highly recommend trying before you buy. I find this more traditionally masculine because the vetiver is so prominent.

i was searching for a unisex coffee perfume for so long and i think this one is the best I've tried yet. i literally can't stop sniffing myself when i wear it. this perfume is rather warm than sweet. i usually hate citrusy notes on myself, though here the barely noticeable lemon just makes it click. just wow... can't wait to wear it this fall 🍂

Black coffee, leather, parchment, earthy - not nearly as sweet as I expected and I don't get much vanilla. A 5/5 for me as a sexy evening/date scent that I like to layer over a sweeter body spray (like rich espresso by bbw). 100% going to purchase a full bottle in the future!

Анонім

A softer, less harsh version of café ristrito intense by Montale. Both are good...but this is done wellerer. I smell coffee...vanilla....the vetiver makes it airy fresh smelling and the cardamom makes it dirty earthy nice.... 100

Toast, nutty coffee beans with a hint of citrus oil and spicy, resinous terpenes. A much better take on this concept than D&G’s Devotion pour Homme.

mmm... i've been looking for a coffee perfume that smells how my latte order smells for a long time (and doesn't devolve into a sticky, icky, sweaty scent on my skin). i think this is it!!! i just wish the raw coffee note held for longer and was more pronounced, but this is creamy and lactonic and only so slightly bitter. i hardly got the lemon/citrus note which originally made me raise an eyebrow but i think it melds together so well. really realistic!

Анонім

To my senses, this fragrance offers a sharp, hyper-realistic black coffee experience. The scent profile feels slightly too masculine for my preference, making it an unsuitable choice for me.

Анонім

Coffee note is short lived, it falls into vanilla after a while

Анонім

This perfume smells like the scent of freshly ground beans as you scoop them into the coffee maker. It's warm and rich with that deep roasted aroma. This is a dream fragrance for coffee lovers. It's incredibly realistic without feeling overly sweet. It also layers beautifully with other gourmand, vanilla, and creamy scents.

Анонім

I wish I could experience what most people are experiencing with this one. I smell 90% savory cardamom/cumin and 10% bitter coffee. Nothing gourmand (not that I was looking for it). Leans masculine.

Анонім

dark-roasted brewed in high-temp water. its like wearing coffee with chocolatey notes. edit: been noticing more of the spices lately..

Анонім

straightforward and not too sweet, it's just black coffee. very nice

Анонім

fresh sweet coffee. So delicious

Akro #1 – A coffee to start things off The way i see the house of Akro, its one of those brands that received a fair share of exposure but haven’t quiet had a “blockbuster” that got the whole community cheering. Still, something tells me that i’ll find great compositions in the official discovery set i managed to procure. Awake is the one that got the most hype, atleast in the Fragcom circles that i’ve more or less frequented. From what i remember, its a coffee based perfume and altho im not a particular fan of the note (or the drink for that matter) i believe its only fitting to start of the testings with a “caffeine” kick. Awake made my eyes grow wide in a very positive way so thats a winning sign and once again, keep in mind that im not a coffee drinker. Its a mostly-gourmand fragrance with coffee centerstaged. There’s a dusty-nuttyness present aswell, coming from the cardamom and it reminds me of the delicious instant-cappucino satchels with nut flavouring. Every element in the composition screams gourmand so why am i calling it only a “mostly-gourmand” and not a complete gourmand? All i can say is that despite the notes being downright salivating, somehow they are not quiet hyper-realistic. There’s a hint of “fragrancyness” burried underneath and that is the stylisation that pulls it from completely smelling like a food item. I believe its the cardamom that does the trick and that is what hooked me in with Akro’s Awake. Admitedly, it has the ability to make a no coffee drinker like me crave a cup. In the drydown the coffee note outlasts and loses the nutty cardamom, leaning more into the espresso impression. Scentwise, Awake ranks very highly for me and without question its the best coffee centered perfume that i’ve smelt. As far as wearability goes, to my surprise, it doesn’t score badly eighter! My personal, unforgivable gripe with hyper-realistic perfumes and gourmands is that they go out the window in terms of wearability hence why i cannot be “friends” with them. I could see myself wearing Awake in certain, playful circumstances. The perfume gives me a tongue-in-cheek, nearly flirtatious energy hence why i picture it on a datenight kind of scenario or a gathering with very close friends and family. It wouldn’t be something i’d wear to work or for normal daily activities because once again, its too playful for that. One thing’s for sure, Im off to a great start with Akro and seeing how there are 30ml bottles available too, i see Awake’s temptation creeping in.

A nice coffee scent. Pure black coffee, a black jack no sugar no milk. Pure caffeine :) Yes, this is french press coffee ! Like someone said below. hard to wear alone, but well done Long Black scent photorealistic. Just not enough of a perfume story for me ?

Awake is realistic espresso with soft sweet warmth - and the coffee accord is genuinely impressive, photorealistic in a way that few fragrance interpretations manage. But it sits entirely synthetic and artificial on my skin and nothing underneath it never quite saves it. A great novelty that I can't actually wear. Also gave me a massive headache...

٨/١٠ - It's very hideous; it's a cheap espresso, like the smell of an espresso-flavored lollipop with an overdose of sugar. Note: The clone of this is "Gahwa" by Fragrance World, a 93% match. It's just as unpleasant, but the only difference is that one is cheaper. If you have poor taste, this is for you. 1.8/10

a very sweet and yummy coffee

Анонім

really beautiful french press coffee with great performance. reminds me of my english teacher who used to wear jumpers with elbow patches.

Sharp coffee, no sweetnes, just coffee...It is hard, long lasting coffee that is not very balanced until late in drydown. Do not recomend!

Akro Awake has only 2 notes - coffee and musk. It is not listed in the notes but it is all i can smell. For me - unbearable

Анонім

This is okay. Very harsh coffee smell to my nose and smells a bit too masculine for my liking. If you're looking for a sweet coffee fragrance, try Sorce 2AM in Lafayette. It's gorgeous!

#91 of My Fragrance Journey - Akro Awake: The bitter luxury I probably shouldn't say this out loud, but I didn't expect to get attached to this one. At first, it felt like a curiosity. Something to test, understand, maybe dismiss. Coffee in fragrance is rarely subtle and even less often convincing - I thought I knew exactly how this would go. Then it hit. Not softly, not abstractly. With that dark, almost oily bitterness of real espresso. No sweetness to ease you in, no polite introduction. Just roasted beans, dense and unapologetic, like the moment right before the first sip when everything sharpens. There's a flicker of lemon - not citrus in the traditional sense, more like acidity cutting through weight - and a cool thread of cardamom that lifts it just enough to stop it collapsing into itself. It's... intimate, in a way I wasn't prepared for. Not warm yet. Not inviting. Just present. And I kept coming back to it. Somewhere in the dry-down, it softens - not into comfort exactly, but into something smoother, more controlled. The bitterness relaxes into a dark, almost vanilla warmth, and the vetiver underneath starts to show its shape. Dry, grounded, quietly masculine without trying to prove anything. It settles close but not too close. You're aware of it. You stay aware of it. But here's the part I hesitate over. On certain days, on certain skin, it crosses a line. The realism gets so literal it starts to feel almost accidental - like coffee spilt on fabric, still warm, still clinging. Not unpleasant, just... exposed. No filter, no distance. And I'm not sure everyone wants to wear something that honest. It doesn't really evolve the way you might expect, either. It moves, yes - but within a tight frame. Less a story unfolding, more a state that deepens. For something positioned as luxury, that restraint could feel limiting depending on what you're after. And yet that's exactly what keeps pulling me back. It doesn't try to seduce. Doesn't soften itself for approval. It just is - bitter, textured, a little obsessive. Like a habit you pretend you control but don't. I thought I'd admire it and move on. Instead, I keep reaching for it in moments I don't fully understand. Vibe: Pre-dawn espresso. Dark roast and vetiver. The kind of quiet that has an edge to it. Performance: Moderate to good. Stays close, stays honest. Fit: For someone who doesn't need their fragrance to be liked - just felt. Do you ever wear something that doesn’t feel like you - but still feels a little too honest to ignore? More scent stories and visuals on Instagram - @lavendercloudsjd

I enjoy the photorealistic coffee but the Lemon note does not go well with the coffee in my opinion. Coffee addict would be a better alternative if you want a coffee fragrance
