very sweet and girly perfume, for me the first smell is strong sweet licorice, but later it gets softer, and turns into some strawberry cotton candy ♡ very much recommended if youre a fan of very sweet fragrances :)
I would describe the scent of Pink Sugar as 'distinctly saccharine'. I find that the cotton candy, licorice, and caramel notes can be quite intense initially, and that it stays strong for a couple of hours afterwards. When you give it the time to settle, however, it's simply wonderful! This is a perfume I use sparingly, and usually alongside other fragrances.
I was really put off the licorice in this perfume in the beginning because I didn't expect it to smell so strong, so I was disappointed because all the out of the box reviews I saw online were raving that it's the sweetest cotton candy scent ever. However after letting it mature I am in love with this perfume, and it has literally made my mouth water multiple times which has never happened to me before. The profile scent for me is just licorice and cotton candy, I'm not picking up on any other notes and I'm surprised it has so many. It's almost equally balanced but the licorice is a bit louder than the cotton candy - so it's a spicy sweet perfume. The dry down is mostly cotton candy though and this is my favorite part. It lasts around maybe one or two hours, both on skin and clothes.
This 67 year old young woman wears this often ever since it was released. People around you will always notice and comment on it and everyone gets something different. I've been many places where people around me will say to someone else something like "do you smell cookies.... or caramel, or cake, or cotton candy" and also "someone smells really good in this room". I have been tempted to raise my hand and say, "it's me, everyone!" I also found a fragrance oil dupe for making candles, and when I sold them it was the number one fragrance request, hands down. I've really gotten into niche perfumes recently, and generally prefer them over designer or cheaper fragrances (I guess you could say I'm becoming a perfume snob), but I'm not ashamed of my love for Pink Sugar.
i blind bought this because so many people say it’s amazing, and i think its really, really true. its certainly very 2000s, or early 2010s, it reminds me of sprays or makeup that i had as a kid. its very soft and sweet, i can definitely smell the cotton candy but i think i pick up even more of the vanilla and strawberry with it. so its not a strong, artificial cotton candy but a very soft sugary cotton candy scent. soft is the just best way i can describe it. in the beginning you can smell the raspberry and orange too, at first spritz. so far, its much stronger than my other perfumes and sprays which im happy about. you can definitely smell it on yourself without trying to, so im looking forward to wearing this when going out! it may become my new favorite.
One of the very few perfumes that give me a headache. It's such a unique lovely girly scent but it puts me in a sad mood.
On paper: sweet sugar cotton candy. On my skin: mostly licorice, with a burnt caramel undertone. Meh. Oh well, at least I gave it a try!
I'm slightly embarrassed to admit that my 25+ years @** , actually enjoys being under the cloud of this. I was saving up money for my long-overdue Babycat... & here this comes. what's happening 2 me?!? 😭
Wearing Pink Sugar while listening to Mainstreet by Bob Seger in the dark is such a vibe! Candlelight + Pink Sugar + Bob Seger = 🔥
I think Pink Sugar is a completely girly fragrance. At the same time, it strangely doesn’t smell like a modern perfume. Even if you’ve never smelled it before, the first time you do, it somehow feels nostalgic, as if it’s an old classic you’ve known for years. In my opinion, it has a very distinctive and unique scent. I genuinely enjoy wearing this perfume. However, its longevity is a bit weaker compared to the older versions. Mine lasts around 5–6 hours, although the projection is still quite strong. I currently own a 2022 bottle, and the liquid inside is a light yellow color. When the juice is a darker orange, Pink Sugar is usually more intense and longer-lasting. If you’re looking for the best performance, I definitely recommend hunting down older batches. One more thing: I wouldn’t recommend spraying Pink Sugar on white or light-colored clothing. Because of its composition, it can leave larger, noticeable dark yellow stains compared to most perfumes.
I read reviews saying that it is too sweet, but I disagree. It has a sharp, fruity, and sweet top note (licorice, bergamot, etc.) that cuts through the sugar. It is not sickeningly sweet (like Devotion or Εclaire, for example), and it is not a warm sweetness like a 'bakery dessert with legs.' I find it lighter and more interesting because of that sharp note contrast. I would say it is more like a candy sweet than a bakery dessert
This should be called Pink floral sugar. It’s so floral in the beginning and after a bit sugar comes out. Is not pure sugar how people say. And it’s not loud at all, it’s weak af. I need to stop listening tik tokers who bragging this crap. Try it before to buy, is not a safe blind.
was def a blind buy and have been wanting to try it mainly due to the cute packaging. i actually really liked it and have been wearing it a bit!
Yo the licorice in this is awful
a repeat buy, a safe blind buy for gourmand candy lovers i feel and incredible value for how long it stays on clothes and skin. the starting note is more fruity but i find it dries down to a really nice musky vanilla and layers well with bbw into the night or black opium ( in smaller amounts) for darker edge
This is SOO GOOD. Smells exactly like the name. A very sugary, sweet, fizzy, candy-like scent, without smelling super cheap and synthetic or juvenile, imo. It has a note in there that makes it smell more sophisticated and perfumey, but it's like the perfect amount. I also don't get the gross, overbearing licorice smell other people seem to be getting. I think this smells delicious! It's also very strong. I did one spray on my wrist and still got strong whiffs of it constantly even with my arms completely down 😭. Obviously don't get this if you dislike very sweet sugary smells it's literally called pink sugar lol
**Blind buy.** I bought Pink Sugar because I loved the name and the idea of a perfume that smelled like pure candy. I was a little disappointed at first. While it smelled pleasant enough, I felt it was missing the rich gourmand sweetness I was hoping for. I never really picked up the caramel or vanilla that so many people describe. Instead, the liquorice note stood out the most to me, and since I'm not a fan of liquorice, that kept me from truly loving it. What surprised me most was how much it reminded me of my old Strawberry Shortcake doll from childhood. That sweet, slightly artificial strawberry and plasticky scent instantly brought back memories of my little red-haired doll, which I absolutely adored. Even though it wasn't the candy-like perfume I had imagined, I still wore it from time to time. I would happily buy it again just for the nostalgia. Every spray takes me back to my childhood and to my beloved Strawberry Shortcake doll.
Now this a better way to make something candy-like without it smelling like candy. It's actually really pretty. You have to like these type of scents though, so for me unusually, a strong like for someone who hates these type of perfumes normally.
When I first spray it I get alot of the cotton candy and a licorice note, which i understand why alot of people find it offputting but I kinda like that about it. but then once it drys down it is sugery and caramely, yummy but not for everyone.
Mmm so sweet and delicious and it always smells so warm and comforting. Its too delicious smelling that i want to take a bite out of my arm, just kidding hehe But very recommended if u love gourmands its a pleasure to smell and i have to get it!!!!
my favourite perfume for going out and fun occasions. It's super affordable and lasts long for an EDT. I loveee the licorice and cotton candy note it makes my mouth water a little. The licorice grew on me so much after using it for a while as my daily scent and I think its makes it unique and stand out a compared to other sugary sweet perfumes. Not a safe blind buy tho unless you really love a surgery sweet licorice scent like me. It's surprisingly light and wears well on warmer days, I dont find it too heavy or cloying.
i have also tried the body lotion and wash and they all smell the same as the perfume itself. extremely sweet but the sweetness is so interesting to me? it’s kind of like burnt candy or burnt marshmallows? like when you’re making s’mores? hard to describe for me but it was nice 🩷ྀིྀིྀིྀིྀི
I wore this in highschool (whenever i didn't feel like wearing alien, which was rare) and i remember getting so many compliments whenever i did. Some colleagues of mine even bought it after they've smelled it on me. However i've outgrown it before i even got to finish my bottle, so i gave it away. It's strong, it's ultra sweet, juvenile and a little sinthetic, but if you're a teenage girl looking for an affordable compliment magnet that lasts, this might be it! But it's not blind buy safe - most people either love it or hate it. My husband, who was my boyfriend back then, hated it. He did love Alien on me tho :)
First sniff; Not a safe blind buy. At the moment it seems like it is giving me a headache. Will be putting it away for a bit.
Very pretty classic fragrance. I avoided trying it for years because I typically dislike gourmands that are TOO too sweet. Pink Sugar is undeniably very sweet. However, it lacks the thick, syrupy, sickly quality that bothers me in those overly sweet scents. I find that Pink Sugar is light, whimsical, and sparkling, the way that cotton candy is sugary sweet but dissolves on the tongue ephemerally. It took me a little while to figure out why this fragrance felt nostalgic to me. Despite being close to the target age at the height of its popularity, I managed not to know anyone who wore it. I figured out the memories it unlocked: Some type of strawberry cookie mix that I had for my childhood Easy Bake Oven, and the sweet vapor of hookah smoke (specifically the Sex on the Beach flavored tobacco that my friends and I used to use.) Overall I find this fragrance simple, fun, delicious, and youthful. I will happily continue to use my sample, and will likely buy a full size bottle for when I want to feel a little extra joyous and feminine.
The fruits and licorice keep it fresh and interesting for a little over an hour, after that it turns into a sweet nothing on my skin. Plain, boring and a little synthetic. I don't hate it though overall, will definitely keep my sample and get back to it during the colder months to test again.
I'm a big fan of this and I'll start by saying: I rated it as moderate sillage and lasting 9ish hours, but if you let it macerate for a couple of years it gets progressively better, projects loads and lasts eternally. I now have a stock of them macerating just as preparation 😂 I love this perfume and everyone else loves it on me. It's the definition of a sweet perfume, basically edible but still sexy. The red velvet edition is more of a straight up "cookie smell" without the sex appeal this one has. Big cotton candy, raspberry, lightweight, musky upon drydown and still sugary sweet. Amazing scent profile. When I wear my macerated one I get chased down the street by people asking me about my perfume. I got cashiers at the grocery store asking me to write down the name of this for them. It can also be used as a base layer to almost any sweet fragrance and can, in my view, be worn year-round. Everyone classifies this as being super young and childlike, yet I get fully grown men from ages 20 to 60 obsessing over it. If you like the sweet, compliment getting fragrances, get a bottle of this. It's not even expensive.
Loveee, makes me feel like the girliest girl ever. Personally I am obsessed with the burnt sugar that I get on the dry down but the fruit and liquorice I get in the first 30 mins or so is gorg.
I would love to smell what everyone else is smelling but I just get pure liquorice and sugar. Cloying and egregious .
This is a signature staple for me. It’s an amazing base for almost every perfume. It’s sweet and sexy and brings me so much happiness
