Smells like LVEB :(

I’m in my powdery era, fully enjoying iris and violet notes in perfumes. I recently purchased this one and @LuxAlways down below has gotten this perfume feelings and what it evokes completely right. It’s so addictive, alluring, smells of vacation evenings, rooftop dinners on a classy woman with a bit of edge. She’s not loud, but when she speaks everyone listens. It is a masterful blend of powdery sweetness, a floral caramel, to me not one note stands out against another, but are incredibly well blended. It is amazing from start to finish, even when I don’t (or can’t) distinguish an evolution of notes. I absolutely love it, and for a D&G the performance is outstanding

This is the cleaner, polished black opium. I smelled them side by side. The only one doesn't have that skanky dryer sheet smell. You know those downy beads and shit people use? The only one lacks that cheap note and there is literally nothing l can say is wrong with it for anyone. Other people have to notice this. I can't be the only one

I really enjoy this scent for the winter season, but I believe others love it all year round. It has a powdery iris note combined with the warmth of coffee and vanilla. It doesn't feel juvenile to me. It evokes the feeling of being out late at a jazz club on a winter night.

Smells like green extravaganza

It gives me a salted caramel scent. At least on my skin.

I smelled this on a woman as she was passing me by in the street.. I stopped to ask what she was wearing.. I could definitely detect sweet fizzy florals and violet and some grounding woody notes. (The woody effect probably comes from patchouli and coffee together). and I thought this was so beautiful .. like a forest of violet flowers .. no wonder since caramel is one of its main notes and I love caramel.. it's what makes it sweet in a sophisticated way.. I absolutely love this but I already have so many Perfumes.. I might one day get it Edit: I got it in a small size and I absolutely adore this.. and now that I read the review above me I can absolutely smell a salted aspect now.. it is what I interpreted as a sweet fizzy note on that woman.. Thank u to the person above me for his point of view. It's so sexy yet so playful.. One of the reviews below me says the notes are wrong just because the official website lists other notes.. Well for one official websites aren't always listing the correct notes either. Or maybe they dont list all the notes. and I am sure i smell the rose emerging in mid dry down. It's not the star of the show but its there. Even before I looked at the notes I knew I could bet I was smelling a rose note. I can smell caramel too. The coffee mixed with certain sweet notes may give the scent of caramel though. Heliotrope may be that sweet note since it smells of bitter almonds and cinnamon. Mix that with coffee and u have a caramel ingredient. Try adding those ingredient to a cake sweetened with dates and u will be makin the most delicious caramel flavoured cake.

Notes here on Fragranctica are not correct. From the Dolce & Gabbana website: "TOP The head notes open with refined hints of bergamot, melding with pear and freesia to create a vivacious, delectable, and unexpected bouquet. So these are the true notes... Top notes: bergamot, pear, freesia Heart notes: violet, coffee, Moroccan iris Base notes: heliotrope, patchouli, amberwood

This is good. Designer-good... but still good. The opening is a bit in-your-face and all over the place, but it changes quickly. I definitely get the coffee. But as it dries down, I pick up more of the caramel and pear. Sweet, creamy, slightly fruity. I can't see anyone not liking this. But also can't see anyone absolutely loving this. Take that for what it's worth. It's an easy every day work approved fragrance. I do think this is best for colder weather, though. I can see how this could be unisex, even though there is a men's version out there which I have not tried.

i fell in love with this. i graduated from lolita lempicka's sweet and when i sprayed the only one for the first time, it reminded me of LL's sweet. after a split second, though, it becomes distinctive, different from sweet's playful sweetness, this one is more mature, settled, warm. it's super ladylike. it reminds me of autumn red lipstick, fall, and, of course, coffee. i love love love it. i tried a lot of other perfumes, but i cannot bear not to purchase this one. totally a gem.

Okay so what kind of sorcery is this ? Cause i first smelled it on my friend some years ago and i couldn't get this out of my head, so i decided to buy a 50mL, and i'm so in love i only wear it now that's crazy. This is THE feminine scent. If you want to smell like a confident, empowering, sweet woman, you must buy this perfume.

This is SO good! The pear here is really well done, feels juicy, real. I also love the iris/caramel combo. I think it prevents the scent from being too sickly sweet and cloying, making it sophisticated instead. Projection and lasting power are both really impressive for a designer fragrance!

This is the scent I wore on my wedding day. I am obsessed. It's so gorgeous and seductive. It smells like sophistication. It's sweet but also creamy and woody with a depth to it that lets you know this is a baddie.

This is a really nice and well balanced scent. It is sweet, but it isn’t overly sweet because it also have a clean sort of powdery and warm smell. It is also smooth and creamy. Sugared violet is definitely the dominant smell on me, but I als get the caramel and coffee. I am still going through my travel size bottle, but I definitely think I’ll be getting a full sized bottle.

The Only One smells like a cross between OG Black Opium and Hundred Silent Ways to my nose. It's not quite as sultry as BO, and it's less sweet and more wearable than HSW. Like others have stated, it feels like all the notes come at you at once.... I'm not getting much caramel, but I'm getting A LOT of florals and coffee! The vanilla is also fairly Play-Doh-like which is disappointing. Glad I only ordered a decant. ** Update 2/5 - Wearing The Only One tonight as a bedtime scent, and I'm appreciating it far more this time around! I still get Play-Doh when I smell it on my skin at close range, but the scent cloud around me is delightfully powdery and sweet.

Black opium’s sweet and powdery caramel little sister😌

So much sugar too sweet super cloying less creamy than black opium but still basically identical i don’t like it at all so sharp annoying and smells like a 13 yo

I was excited to try this one, but it’s just okay to me. It’s very musky and powdery at first, though it does get sweeter and richer in the dry down. I don’t get any gourmand notes at all, it smells more like a fruity floral. I would wear this in professional settings such as work, business trips, or church. I think it works for any season, day or night. Overall, it’s not a bad buy.

Sweet scent for women

I like the fact that this is multifaceted and all at once. I appreciate the complexity of all the notes harmonizing together to create one very beautiful and kinda delicious smelling without being a too gourmand sort of scent. I get the florals particularly the violet combined with the sweet caramel and decadent coffee and it is similar to black opium but much more interesting and yes this one sits close. Not a skin scent but maybe projects 1 foot. It is one that would be nice for an intimate date or if you want to smell your perfume but don’t want to choke out the room!

There’s far too much happening at once. When building a fragrance, it's best to decide what leads: sweetness, fruit, florals, gourmand warmth? Here, everything steps forward at full volume: caramel & coffee, fruit bowl, florals. There’s no hierarchy, no pacing, just a mix pushing in every direction. It feels made for someone who is also “too much”, seeking attention, trying to project sophistication, but the execution is overdone. If the composition toned down a few dimensions and chose a clearer direction, there would be real potential, but as it stands, it’s chaotic. I wouldn’t wear this.

Guys, has it been reformulated? The pyramid is different and I guess I used to love some other fragrance, I barely recognize it these days..

I can absolutely understand why people think this is similar to black opium. I actually really enjoy this fragrance. The coffee is prominent at first but fades. Good winter scent but like many D+G perfumes, it isn’t strong so you can easily wear this any time of year.

This is a sexy caramel , rich and warm wonderful for a winter date night . I have a bottle from a couple of years ago I just sprayed it and it smells so yummy !! I would say it’s a mature caramel . Think of what juicy couture gold perfume would be when it grows up
