i've got nothing to say about this because i couldn't smell any notes from this. it's just an oily pistachio. not gourmand. not interesting. maybe it's for the patchouli girls. don't believe the ice cream/cake reviews.

Clay, play-dough leaning take on pistachio

I don't know what this is, but it's definitely not pistachio. I get no pistachio at all and that is disappointing considering it's the name. It smells like old makeup that is overly perfumed in a bad way.

It's interesting that some have described this as sugary or reminding them of ice cream, because I personally don't get any sweetness from it at all. The pistachio in this is realistic, but it's nuttier than pistachio by itself. That combined with the woodiness brings to mind a little upscale nut shop.

On paper this was delightful, but on my skin it was at first boozy, and then like a sour lotion scent. To be honest, I don't get much pistachio. It has a weird waxy old makeup note that others also pick up on. Almost like a wood varnish. Something is weird here. It's like the pistachio concept is fighting against a stinky pile of socks. I expected pistachio ice cream or a realistic nutty scent. Not on me!

this scent reminds me of those matcha flavored swiss roll cakes you can buy in the refrigerated section at a japanese grocery store. feels sweet, cozy, and nostalgic. not an everyday wear but perfect for a certain mood

really disappointing!!!! i love pistachio and for a fragrance that has that very thing in the name, it surely could not be farther away from portraying pistachio in any frame of reference. i realized after sampling a lot of DS & Durga fragrances that their brand DNA is very headache-inducing, bordering on nauseating. this perfume is bland and i really dont get any of the notes advertised except maybe a poorly blended patchouli.

I tested both Pistachio and Bistro Waters from D.S. & Durga, and unfortunately I had the same experience with both — to the point where they smelled identical to me. Immediately after spraying (on both skin and paper), I was hit with a strong base that completely overpowered everything else. I could not meaningfully detect ANY of the listed olfactive notes because this underlying scent dominated from the very first second. The best way I can describe it is: - old makeup bag - waxy cosmetic powder - old play-doh It was not a soft or airy powder — it was dense, pungent, and clung to the skin in a way that quickly became nauseating for me. What stood out most is that this happened across multiple fragrances from the brand (I also tested Black Magenta and experienced the same base, although I could detect one of the listed notes which was pineapple). That leads me to believe this is part of D.S. & Durga’s “house base” or a shared fixative (core structural component) that my nose is particularly sensitive to. For comparison, I’ve smelled a loud powdery base in Tom Ford’s Electric Cherry, but that one reads very differently to me: - sharper, louder - more synthetic - more “clean” Whereas the D.S. & Durga base feels: - heavier - waxier - more pungent and suffocating The difference is significant. One feels like synthetic powder; the other feels like dense cosmetic residue. Because this base note appeared immediately and completely masked the intended scent profiles, I wasn’t able to experience either fragrance as described. That said, I don’t think the perfumes are “bad” — this seems to be a matter of sensitivity to a specific base material. If you enjoy powdery, musky, or cosmetic-style bases, you may have a completely different experience. But if you’re someone who is sensitive to waxy/powdery musks or prefers clear, distinguishable notes (like tea, fruit, or gourmands), I would strongly recommend sampling first. 1. What I smelled: pungent cosmetic powder, no pistachio 2. Reaction: nauseating within minutes 3. Verdict: sample first, avoid this brand if you cannot tolerate D.S. & Durga’s signature base material that D.S. & Durga likely uses across many of their formulas.

I don't usually like gourmand scents, but I thought that this perfume would be a buttery, nut-milky, melt in your skin, lightly roasted pistachio scent, but sadly it just smells like a bath and body works to me. All I get is intense, maple syrupy-y, heavy scent that doesn't smell bad per se, but if you like me and hate scents that make your skin feel like its cover in hot, liquid sugar that's sticky and unpleasant, I DOUBT you would like this perfume! I'm definitely looking elsewhere for the ultimate, lactonic pistachio NUT scent, not pistachio SUGAR scent! If you have a sensitive nose, also may not be for you! 3/10 would not sample again! They always smell like this 😭!!!

This is the patchouli I warned you about - that 90's, tryna cover up the weed you just smoked, patchouli. It's a no, for me, dawg. @buzzwithhoneybee

If you bit into a pistachio that tasted like this, ...you'd spit it out. I'm not saying this a terrible fragrance (not saying it's a great one either), ...but that patchouli note is everything (and nothing). Oddly, DS & Durga doesn't even list that note on the box, but it lists all the others. Just remember, this is a pungent and sharply green-aromatic Pistachouli. You read it here first: Pistachouli.

‘Pistachio’ is a boring but really fitting name for this fragrance because it really is a pistachio fragrance through and through, but is it really nothing more than that? The fragrance is very nutty and woody and forms a delicious green pistachio. It makes you dream about late nights in Italy, walking around town and eating homemade gelato. You smell the vanilla from the get go but the fragrance never gets overly sweet, and the patchouli really help with tying it all towards a greener and woodier place instead of that sweet gourmand realm where it easily could end up. It is playful and cozy just as other reviewers have commented on but as I said, I never think it gets too sweet, just as sweet as pistachio naturally is. And it is a great advantage that this one is just as fitting during summer as winter.

not personally for me, but really refreshing, woody pistachio! patchouli runs super strong on me so i wish i got more pistachio and vanilla, but i like this for a crisp day; maybe would wear better on my partner?

It smells like sauna, eucalyptus, mint, fresh and cool. And in the back pistache with a little play-dough, with woody notes

Cool, interesting perfume, although I've yet to detect any pistachios. This is a kind of 'stealth-patchouli' with green, humid top notes. It reminds me of the green-patchouli Eau de Sisley (Eau de Sisley 2 I think, but I get the numbers confused - maybe it's no. 1?), but it veers slightly sweeter in the drydown, which maybe is where the nuttiness comes in. The transition from green to earthy is fascinating in itself, and very sophisticated.

Imagine your 6 year old cousin made a cake out of play-doh and sprinkles and icing and was earnestly trying to get you to eat it; holding it right under your nose.

Yum. As someone who loves pistachio in desserts, I really appreciate this perfume. It works when the weather's cold and bleak, and you just want a sweet treat to lift your spirits. It is more like the pistachio cream you'll get in an Italian pastry, not a salty-nutty scent like fresh pistachios. Still, wearable and not too much, somehow. I'm beginning to think that no one does gourmands/fruity fragrances quite as well as Durga right now.

Truly repulsive. And I wanted to like it so, so badly. I waited hours for it to turn from walking into a pet store to something even remotely resembling nuttiness and the dry-down never changed from the initial spray. On me, this is pure hay. It's a feed store in the outskirts of a small town.

Kudos to the Perfumier. He made a Pistachio juice , named Pistachio and somehow he managed to create a formula that smells nothing like Pistachios at all. It’s also not very pleasant as a perfume, regarding its lack of realism at all.

Unless something leaps out of a disco-set, I rarely sample gourmands anymore but this one had been on my mind ever since a forum discussion, so here I am trying it. And honestly; this is very good. I know that’s not the most technical way to begin, but it was my first reaction. Dense, woody, and intensely nutty. A true gourmand, with both the sugar level and the edible impression running high. Now, when I imagine this with slightly less sweetness, I suspect the composition would suffer; the patchouli would start sticking out; yet a part of me still wishes it were a bit less sugary. This is not a playful, cutesy pistachio at all; it leans fully unisex. A dark gourmand with a woody-nutty character, blending pistachio, cardamom, almond-milk, and patchouli into a cohesive whole. It’s seductive and perfectly suited for winter. Not FBW for me due to the sweetness level, but definitely something I’d enjoy wearing occasionally for fun. Pure nutty Pistacchio cloud. None of that sugar milk nonsense. Just real Pistacchio, Pistacchio, Pistacchio ! Amazing fun fragrance from Durga, they always play on high notes and keep it light and interesting. Very brainy brand, i love it, their fragrances always make you think, not feel. This I've had for a while now, it's amazing on its own as you forget you even have it on, and then it hits you here and there during the day to remind you " hey ! i'm here ! " Like a salty delicious skin scent, a nutty surprise! Also very versatile to layer with other fragrances , crunchy and dry. Edible and delicious, no frills : pure nut. Love it. Very Playful .

Nice fragrance but absolutely abysmal sprayer. It squirts out in a stream of liquid not an actual fully functioning sprayer. For the money Durga charges it simply is not good enough. As far as the fragrance goes it’s ok but more patchouli for mine instead of pistachio. Much prefer BTSO Nuts for longevity and variety. Oh and a much better sprayer.

Real pistachio enjoyers will understand. Get that yum boujee gelato crap off my damn phone screen

Big dislike. I was hoping to smell something like pistachio as pistachio smells amazing to me on its own. This smells sweet and woody but I am not getting anything with pistachio. Misleading name... Not for me and will be actively avoiding.

My least favorite fragrance from this house by far

I’m surprised to see the low rating here. This is a beautiful pistachio fragrance that doesn’t just smell like straight up nuts. The opening has the strongest pistachio note but I actually prefer the dry down. It blooms beautifully with the patchouli (usually I’m not the biggest fan of this note) and blends with the vanilla so smoothly. It’s a really nice pistachio perfume (key being a perfume, not smelling like straight up food). It has a good amount of body but I still feel like I can wear it during the colder fall days. This does not smell gourmand to me, so perhaps that’s the miss for some people re: expectations for a perfume called pistachio.

The pistachio in this is so fucking yummy I nearly chewed my wrist off after spraying.
