5.5/10. Anecdotal (and likely fabricated marketing) aside, the fragrance is just okay. Now, that's not to say it lacks originality. It IS just the right amount of unique imo. Props for that. What I'm not quite jiving with is the scent profile itself. It just isn't my thing, but I could totally see someone getting down with this if they like powdery, creamy citrus. Not creamy citrus in the same way Cedrat Boise is. I suppose you could make an argument for this being similar to it if CB smelled like something from the 20th century stripped of leather and woods. This is my first review on here, and I think what might help other people make their decision is if I'm to provide the photo realistic image it congers (As weird as it may be). Ready? For me: Drinking an orange creamsicle soda next to an open pack of baby wipes.

Fresh, crisp, masculine floral. But unisex today. Opens with aldehydes, musky citrus and cinnamon aromas, floral and a little waxy. Moss, nutmeg, soft woods and vanilla. Possibly a phantom coconut note, then cloves and vetiver. Drydown remains floral and grassy with paper-like woods lingering on skin. Sillage is fairly subtle and longevity, in so far as projection is concerned, is short lived, I'd say 3hrs tops. But the woods and vanilla linger as a skin scent until the next day. More of a day scent but ok for year round wear. Unisex, mature, a little ol' skool, ages 30+. Reminded me of L'homme Cacharel and OG Givenchy Gentleman '74. Decent for what it is. Gentlemen's scent.

This is a beautiful, classy scent that would be great for any occasion I can imagine. When I first put it on, I thought maybe my sample had evaporated. I had to put my face to my arm to smell anything, but once it dried I started getting better whiffs of it. I think it would be difficult to overspray this. It's worth noting that the brand's website lists different notes: Top notes: Cardamom, Pink Pepper, Lemon Heart notes: Wood, Labdanum, Violet Leaves Base Notes: Ambar, Sandalwood, Vetiver I get some soft citrus, woods, spices, and amber/vanilla. And I definitely get the violet leaf note, which gives it a clean, somewhat powdery quality. It's very well blended. It has a classic men's fragrance quality, but also leans very unisex to me. I think it would be an excellent option for someone who isn't really into fragrance but wants to smell nice. (Sample obtained from LuckyScent)

A woody fragrance with a subtle vanilla undertone, balanced by citrus, ginger and ambergris. It reminds me of semi-sweet powdery shaving foam or soap. Pleasant and well composed, and I could see it working well for someone with a minimalist collection. It does, however, overlap too much with fragrances I already own and prefer.

It’s just a strong, generic, slightly powdery dude fragrance for me. 🤷🏻♂️

100000% signature scent parfum . Easily. You buy a bottle of this you could put this right next to Aventus or Layton . Fresh, lemon, cream soda vibe, ambergris nutty. A beautiful masculine scent. This is a unique scent. I haven't smelled anything remotely like this out there and makes me want to get and try more Eight and Bob fragrances. Possibly the shortest review I've ever done. Got the sample yesterday, put it on the scent strip and was blown away! I couldn't wait to put this on skin! Wore it from 9:30 am till 8 pm. Still on skin! Just read the pros above. They nailed it. Longevity: 9.5 Sillage: 8 Scent: 10

Instantly reminds me of shaving cream or a fresh shave soap from a barbershop. Has that traditional, businessman, classic profile. A bit pungent on the top notes, with a softer, more nuanced dry down. It's not my style, but it's well done.

For those who prefer their fragrances intimate and understated, Eight & Bob Original is the ultimate low-profile "freshie" that completely defies overspraying. It delivers a clean, citrusy, second-skin profile without ever crossing into soapy territory, making it an ideal choice for anyone who avoids loud, aggressive scents. While a crisp, woody backbone emerges as a faint afterthought in the dry-down, the overall composition remains incredibly polite. It’s undeniably well-crafted and lovely, but it ultimately lacks staying power. I wish that it wanted to hang out with me a little longer, but ultimately my skin eats this one right up. It’s a classic.

Vanila, spicy, luxury soap

Just smells like soap to me. It's clean and bright, but boring.

Creamy and woody spiced vanilla with citrus. It’s a nice year-round scent perfect for the office or other daytime activities. I was able to secure a 100ml bottle presented in a book for $118 from a discounter, but I wouldn’t spend much more than that on this. It projects at about an arms length and lasts about 6 hours on my skin. I’ll wear it sparingly throughout the year, most likely to the office. 8.7/10

Smells very mid.

What happened to this fragrance? Some time before Corona, I learned about The Original and went to smell it for the first time. It was an intriguing smell, but I wasn't "wowed" by it, not enough to spend money on it anyway. The other day, I saw it at a department store and went to smell it again. I was puzzled, it smelled nothing like the fragrance I smelled 4-5 years ago. The whole thing smelled watered down, the citrus smells cheap and that unique blend of citrus and vanilla almost completely was gone. If I didn't know how it used to smell, I wouldn't be able to identify this at the Original Eight & Bob. Has it been reformulated beyond recognition or is my nose/brain remembering a scent that was never there?

This fragrance opens fairly strong, just a couple sprays is enough to cause me a light headache. More of a cooler day scent for office or formal occasion. On a dry down, it becomes more pleasant, reminds me of Valentino Uomo, sweet and soapy, less nutty. Pretty much a skin scent once dry, yet very pleasant for yourself.

I see why JFK wore this. Smells like something a dignatary would wear. The opening smelled like pickeles to me, but after a minute or two I'm met with a crisp citrus and the drydown is this woody, arid, mild vanilla, earthy tones. I like it for sure. Not full bottle worthy, but definitely a 1ml. Update EDIT after 9 hours: I cannot stop smelling my arm OMG! It just keeps changing and projecting after hours and hours. Received 1 compliment from a delivery girl and caught a whiff when the wind blew. This is FULL Bottle worthy.

This fragrance single-handedly resolved the Cuban Missile Crisis…maybe. Eight & Bob by, well, Eight & Bob is part heritage, part contemporary, and part raised eyebrow. The official lore reads like fanfiction written by Lem Billings after a few too many highballs. It goes something like this: [Disclaimer: Supposedly] A dashing French aristocrat, Albert Fouquet, whipped up a little bottle of genius in the 1930s, aided by his family butler Philippe. The secret ingredient is an unnamed Andean plant, of mysterious and strictly seasonal origin. Of course, the resulting fragrance was far too precious a scent to be sold, so M. Fouquet kept it to himself. It just so happened that a young JFK was cavorting around the French Riviera in 1937, met up with Fouquet, and charmed the fragrance out of him. Back in the USA, Kennedy supposedly sent a letter asking for nine more bottles, including “one for Bob” (sorry, Steve and Fred, none for you). Thus, Eight & Bob was born. Poor Fouquet was promptly killed in a car crash not long after, but steadfast Philippe had the formula and kept up production. Later, during World War II, bottles were smuggled across borders hidden inside hollowed-out books to prevent confiscation by evil Nazi perfumery thugs, presumably lead by some Dufthauptmann from the Einsatzstab Reichsleiter Rosenberg. You cannot make this stuff up (…or can you?) Mythology aside, what does it actually smell like? Pretty good, as it happens. The opening is lemony and bright, with some spicy ginger. Then come florals, herbs, and spices, with plenty of cedar and a hazelnut note that is similar to nutmeg on me. A touch of labdanum in the middle notes bridges the phases as it slides into a woodsy-amber base, mostly dominated by sandalwood, vanilla, and noticeable ambergris. It’s not revolutionary, but it’s as smooth as a campaign promise and as reliable as a philanderer’s alibi. It smells classic, inoffensive, and refined, but it also smells mostly like a good quality designer fragrance of the last 30 years. It doesn’t particularly smell like anything we know of from the 1930s (Pour un Homme de Caron, Canoe, Old Spice, etc.). Longevity and projection are at the high end of moderate, enough to make its presence known, but not enough to give everyone the Johnson Treatment. It’s sweet and creamy enough that I could imagine some women making it work, but overall it leans mostly masculine. Cynically speaking, Eight & Bob could have just been marketed as “a well-made, classic gentleman’s fragrance.” That would suit it quite well. But no, the brand decided to ladle on a story so rich it reads more like an unproduced Indiana Jones script than an origin. I keep expecting Hemingway’s steamer trunk, secret letters from Coco Chanel, and Claus von Stauffenberg‘s eyepatch to make an appearance. Should you buy it? If you like smelling good, yes. If you also enjoy telling absurd cocktail party tales about JFK and secret perfume smuggling, then absolutely.

I don't know where people are smelling soap in this. Has it been reformulated recently? I bought this about 4 years ago and it is straight up warm and creamy. Very similar to Cashmere Mist by Donna Karan. I only wear this once in a while, but it's always a treat when I do. Nothing sharp or aldehydic about it. I think you could wear this year round, but it is probably best for spring and fall seasons. I very rarely receive compliments on fragrances but I've received some wearing this. Slightly woody, ambery, a little sweet and more of a rich and deep fragrance that lasts for a long time. I can still smell it on my shirt the next day. Smells great on men but this could also go unisex no problem.

"I don't think it's suitable for a man. This scent is very feminine — specifically, it smells like a rich and strong floral soap in the top notes. The base notes are quite powdery and smooth, coming from the wood. It's not particularly interesting, and I don't find it masculine."

Анонім★★★★★

Soapy, woody, ambery and somewhat citrusy. Opening is fresh & smooth, drydown is the best part where it gets creamy, slightly clean and vanillic with some refined hotel vibes but other than that it's your casual soapy amber-wood bomb and nothing much. This bottle has some simialr notes I had once noticed in Versace lines probably in pour homme or Dylan Blue, especially due to that soapy amber drydown, but the opening citrus here is not as present or consistent. The worst part is that it has no sillage & longitivity. It's unisex & clean. It's basic & generic. Edit: dry down on skin will change more than on clothes, it's basically thermoaromatic.

An oddly nutty-creamy sandalwood and sunscreen vibe. It feels ‘beachy’ somehow, yet it isn’t super wearable on hot days. A bit of a muddled, synthetic, and confused end result for mine.

Анонім★★★★★

Quite soapy and old-fashioned: lots of musk and floral notes. Can’t really say anything else, I don’t feel any notes listed above tbh..

%100 Fahrenheit 32

Анонім★★★★★

I know from the listed notes, that I shouldn't, but I get a distinct minty/camphor vibe in this, mainly in the mid. It's fresh, but it's not, if you know what I mean. Based on the notes I should find this cloying but I don't. I do pick up on the vanilla and also the ambergris (but not as much as in some Creed's for example).

Анонім★★★★★

After reassessing this fragrance, I think it's actually pretty interesting. In the opening, you definitely get a lot of wood and lemon with nutty undertones. Very little to no sweetness, so it's a bit mature and classical in that regard. Then the vanilla develops, which is more like a creamy vanilla bean, and the scent becomes a sort of nutty vanilla ice cream with lemon. I honestly don't pick up on much of the ambergris or suntan/beach vibes others have described. To me this is a classy and woody fragrance with creamy citrus. As for the JFK story, I think it's all just goofy marketing, like how Creed claims to have made fragrances for high-profile celebrities and royalty. This fragrance certainly has an air of old-fashioned elegance, and if the story is true, then the perfumer was quite revolutionary for his time. I think this is worth sampling, and it's one that will grow on you. It's actually quite unique.

Анонім★★★★★

A very subtle suntan lotion and beachy saltwater vibe with the ambergris and vanilla. Seems like a sweet one for summer. Pleasant fragrance. 8.2/10

I don't know if the story behind this scent is true or not, I'm here for the smell. Opens : very aromatic, Mid : a little powdery nutty, slightly ambroxan/beachy vibe and woody Drydown : nutty, spicy, woody, musky, slightly beachy and a little powdery leather scent. I really like this fragrance, masculin and classy. All year round and signature scent worthy. Try it.

Exactly like Fahrenheit 32.

When something has a legendary story behind it, it’s hard not to formulate an idea of what to expect. Perhaps that is what accounts for my underwhelming first encounter with this one. “I’ve smelled it before” was my initial thought. After a few samplings, I have to say that 8 and Bob is a nice fuzzy unisex 90s fragrance. It was either way ahead of its time in the 1960s or… anyway, evaluating the fragrance on its own merits: Fuzzy citrus with musky sweet unisex, vague notes. I do get vanilla, but most of those notes in there seem pure fiction. I think it’s pleasant but doesn’t stand out in any special way. If JFK was indeed rocking this in the 1960s, then he wouldn’t have smelled like anybody else out there at that time. But this scent profile has been done many times since then. If the story is true, it’s a cool piece of history, but I’m believe its impact is in the past.

Анонім★★★★★

Great fragrance with a very designer DNA, reminds me a lot of male fragrances from the 90s. Aromatic vanilla with the right dose of sweetness, in the style of Minotaure and Roma Uomo (it doesn't exactly resemble them, but they all share the same vibe). I can't see how someone with the bare minimal knowledge of perfumery can think of this as a product from the 1930s-40s (the same with Creed fragrances).

Анонім★★★★★

Very sweet opening. It's nice but smells like a sugary designer to me. High quality. The only thing i have to compare it to is SWY Intensely and the lavender in that one balances out the sweetness and gives it the edge for me. Will give it some more time and report back.
