Molecule 05 has become one of my all-time favourites. It’s a wonderfully weird fragrance and genuinely unlike anything else I own. Cashmeran gives it this warm, woody, slightly musky quality, but there’s also something strangely salty about it on my skin — almost like warm, clean skin after being by the sea. It’s not really a traditional “fresh” aquatic scent, but it somehow gives me that salty, mineral, sea-air feeling without actually smelling marine. What I particularly love is how difficult it is to pin down. Sometimes it smells woody, sometimes warm and musky, sometimes almost dry and mineral. It seems to shift throughout the day. Despite the warmth, I find it incredibly versatile and would happily wear it in any season. There’s nothing traditionally “perfumey” about Molecule 05, which is probably why I love it so much. No sweetness, no obvious floral notes and, importantly for me, no powderiness. Just this gorgeously strange, warm, salty, woody skin scent. Definitely not for everyone, but if it works with your skin chemistry, it’s fantastic. Weird in the best possible way.
It's soft and reminds me of moss, algae, a damp forest floor, a dank basement. Whereas Molecule 04 (Javanol) has an overripe fruit funk to it, Molecule 05 (Cashmeran) has a decaying wood funk to it. I don't think I'd want to wear this scent on its own or layer it with my other fragrances, but it's an interesting experience nonetheless (especially for a $4 sample on Aedes' website). :)
I've tried it with a friend on his skin it smells like moldy clothes and its a skin scent. But on my skin it gets absorbed the second it touches my skin. Literally worst performing fragrance ive ever tried.
nie wiem czy kiedykolwiek tak skrzywilem mine jak hitnal mnie jakis zapach. To doslownie oczko wodne, albo ten wybieg w zoo z krokodylami gdzie juz zdaleka mozesz poczuc ze sie do niego zblizasz. Nie wiem jak mozna przyfitowac ten zapach, tym bardziej jak mozna go lubic. Nawet ta meskosc ginie w tym gnijacym wodnym zapachu. Totalnie nie
Dirt, celery and water. Composition that blends perfectly with aromas surrounding you during the day. So it disappears veiled by scent of office or house lobby, and after several hours will remind you that it is still here when you change your location. Good for mixing with literally any perfume you have.
Really pleasant surprise. “White musk” is usually an overpowering and off putting note for me in most fragrances so I thought cashmeran would be the same, but I love the damp earthy, beetroot, wet stone, petrichor facet of Molecule 05.
This should be listed as a wet soil, petrichor, geosmin, rain scented fragrance molecule. I always thought that pure cashmeran would smell like a creamy white linen and ambery musk but no. I had others smell this after I described it as a rain scent and they agreed it smells like wet soil, beetroots, and rainforest moss. They weren’t as grossed out after my description, but we all agreed it’s a unique scent and not one you’d want to wear. A unique experience overall but not what I thought cashmere would smell like at all.
Certainly an experience...It's not bad, just smelled like my old washing machine...which was another unique experience in my life. Never thought I'd get to smell her again, but she came back in a little tester I guess o.o (Smells like mildew and a slightly decomposing wet rag)
It’s woody, clean, gives little herby vibe. Definitely unisex, lil mire on male side for my opinion. Nothing annoying, but also nothing special about it for the price value. I also agree inconsistent performance as all other molecules.
I just love it! Have had 01 and 02, but this really blew me away! To me it is so clean and comforting, like being wrapped in the softest and cleanest towel. Like a clean flower :)
no performance issues. it never growls but longevitiy is monstrous. a few extra sprays do the trick.
its very metallic like blood and nail polish remover but something about it is so magnetic and addicting.. later it dries down into something soft and sweet like cotton. makes me feel like a sexy cyborg woman with huge steel boobs wearing a bikini and sipping iced motor oil in the spring time need to test a few more times but theres a reason i bought this at the hamburg duty free to my mothers chagrin who said it was the worst thing shes ever smelled
Smells like warm water and being wrapped in a fresh towel. Sunny, warm, slightly aquatic, fluffy. So interesting!
This smells damp and earthy. Freshly tilled soil outside of a laundry room not currently being used. It's not clean but not quite dirty either.
Picked this up in a discovery set of Molecule 01-05 and 05 is defintely the outlier of the bunch. It smells like damp soil and moldy wood. One sniff of it and I'm sent back to my decaying garden shed in winter.
dirt, soil, celery, bleach… and maybe a few others- I don’t know, but I’m just appalled.
I thought I could not smell cashmeran, due to a tendency for scents which feature it as a note to turn my nose on, allowing me to only thinly smell the fruit or citrus and nothing else. At this concentration though, I can smell it. It reminds me of a mildewy shower curtain, that you are cleaning with Tilex.
This is how I find out I don't like cashmeran... the more you know! To me, it smells musty, dirty, and cold like an old basement.
sharp marker pen, hut in ϑ'mountains of Borneo, then almondy bug spray
Expected soft, warm, skin-like. Got dirty and erotic (not sexy. Sadonaso-erotic.)
I got this on heavy discount at TKmax. Compared to Molecule 1 It's pretty disappointing. It is a weak mixture of sweet, musky linen / cashmere notes with little development apart from an occasional sourish hint (like sweat?). It reminds me when you get clothes out of the washing machine, damp but mildly scented. Like a lot of Escentric's line, it jumps in and out of being noticeable but not in an elusive way as the scent itself is meh. What prevents it getting a negative review is that you can layer it with other things. Otherwise, I wouldn't use this, it cannot hold its own and what it offers isn't appealing for me.
Very blunt statement- smells like mould to me. Great to mix with other perfumes if need a bit of astringent, amber layer. Use it on a perfume if too sweet and sickly. Good for mixing. Don’t like it pure
I came across this at an airport in the duty free zone. Immediately drawn to the scent. Even though it's a single molecule, I find the perfume quite complex. To me it bonds together the breezy and cozy feel of a summer fresh laundry (in a good way, I know comparing a fragrance to a laundry can be perceived as a blasphemy), and a musky overtone that gives woody and dry leaves vibes. It's a unique scent for sure. It varies a lot from skin to skin, and I've smelled it being quite different on some of my friends. It's quite weak as a projection and also doesn't last more than 3-4 hours tops. If you overspray and focus on fabrics rather than skin, you might get extra mileage out of it. It's also quite pricey for what it is, but again, it's quite unique, despite being just cashmeran. One of my favorites.
this was the one of the collection for me. It smells so special, you're either made for the scent or not. And if you are, it will find you.
This is my favorite Molecule. This Cashmeran is ethereal, it keeps fading and re-appearing, but doesn't leave for a long time. And there is a faint petrichor note and something almost floral... Gorgeous. If it smells bad to you - then it does not work with your skin, plain and simple; try other scents instead.
The ability to sense Molecule 05 (Cashmeran) comes and goes, as it does with many such unimolecular scents, though for me, it mostly stays at least somewhat sensible. When it's there, it smells primarily of spicy wood, be it cedar or sawdust. Ocasionally I also detect elements of either vetiver or sandalwood, despite the mimicry of these two botanicals being more the claimed purview of Molecule 03 (vetiveryl acetate) and Molecule 04 (javanol), respectively. This subjectively wider array of note facies in Molecule 05 might lend it somewhat wider appeal. Of course, the name cashmeran is not really descriptive. There is nothing objectively like goat wool about this. More likely, referencing 'cashmere' just starts the requisite suggestive luxury marketing at the level of the chemical ingredient producer instead of the perfumers. The wearing of 'barely there' semi-sensory stealth scents, such as those of the Molecule line, likely appeals to those who seek to operate at a near-subliminal level, Having either yourself or other repeatedly forget and then rediscover your perfume would likely provide added attention and entertainment. That comes with the provisio that the scent even gets noticed in the first place. Ive heard some intriguing but unsubstantiated stories about the benefits of layering perfumes like Molecule 05 along with more standard olfactory fare. I will have to try that at some point in the future.
A super sharp, woody smell with a touch of pine. Slowly starts to smell of medicinal eucalyptus and Vicks rub after a few minutes. Not at all what I would imagine this to smell of. But I kinda like it.
I get a very green, sappy, pine-like smell that's a little earthy and a little grassy. Definitely not a love, but not a hate, either. Not sure if I'd wear this alone, but I can see it being layered with other woody or green fragrances to boost those aspects, or perhaps with something sweet or spicy to tone it down a little.
On my skin I get Michael's, or JoAnn Fabrics craft store The dried eucalyptus, the spongy green foam bricks etc. my mom loved doing arts and crafts when I was a kid, so I spent a lot of time in there waiting for her to finish shopping. Smells just like it Nostalgic for sure, but not something I would ever want to wear as a man. Got a sample as part of their 8.5ml discovery set
on me this smells very powdery and fresh. it reminds me of flowers for some reason, not a specific flower, but the idea of flowers. maybe it's the soil smell. it doesn't project at all though, I think it would pair nice with something floral or woodsy. quite overpriced for what it is but it cheers me up
