To put Hawas or the Ice in the same sentence is like say a Camaro and a Porsche are both sports cars. Yes BUT!!! The sweetness in this is nothing like the bubble gum and youthful sweetness of any Hawas. This does have sweetness but because of the other accords and the beautiful blending it is not sweet forward like Hawas, the Ice or even the Invictus line. That being said, this is an average fragrance in the ADG line. Many better options. Just a like not a love. Not full bottle worthy, imho.
Bought it because it was discontinued and many reviews will say as to why that is. Not a bad scent profile at all, but as many creators say it's simply not made any more due to redundancy. Smells like Hawas/Invictus as at the time many creators were going for that bubblegum-y sweet DNA as it was taking off at the time. Has a smidge of the acquatic nature but I think it's because it has just a fresh and aromatic nature. In the dry down, it becomes a slightly deeper sweetness from the amber and woods. Good projection and longevity without a doubt, and would excel in the warmer days. Do I regret buying it? Not really just because it's cool to have a discontinued bottle. But also, it's not a necessary scent to have in the collection.
The “sea notes” come off as a generic body wash scent in the worst way, then it dries off quickly into a treacle patchouli. Reminds me of cheap body sprays and Axe.
Warm, slightly sweet, fruity, aquatic, ambery and woody, a bit refreshing and a bit seductive. This fragrance has a lot going on, and respectfully that is a very tall order. To accomplish this without muddling about is a marvel of its own merit. Yes, I wish it was blended better, and yes, I wish they didn’t lean on the ambroxan as much or at least covered it up better, but, despite those grand wishes for greatness, they succeeded at creating a solidly good fragrance with scents that can be very difficult to manifest together cohesively. IMO this is not the best work of ADG, but it is still a little better than just good. A worthy addition to the line. My biggest complaint is the ambroxan in the ambery-woody accord, but I know that this was an essential component in keeping the integrity of the overall theme of the fragrance. They succeeded well enough at the theme, so I will not pitch this out just because of the ambroxan. Moreover, it is not an “ambroxan bomb”, but it is still a key player. I find the ambroxan part to be much more manageable when kept under clothing and layered with a fresher non-ambroxan forward fragrance like Versace Man Eau Fraiche. Lastly, I want to highlight that this is a good date night fragrance due to the warm and refreshing qualities. If not over-sprayed it can add just the right amount of zest to close encounters.
This cologne projects and sneaks up on you with an inviting bubblegum sweet smell. Even hours after putting it on ill get a random whiff of this sweet slightly woody smell. Edit: might change to love I continue to like this the more I wear it. I also like it more than Rasasi Hawas and Invictus Aqua. Edit 2: Switched from like to love because I love the way the bubble gum sweetness and slight aquatic smell projects hours after spraying. Its not cloying but subtle and inviting making you want to get another smell of the sweetness.
If you'e ever smelled Azarro's Wanted EDT, imagine a fresher take on that. If you can imagine Nautica's Voyage for 20-year-olds, imagine that. If you've ever smelled Lacoste's Essential, a less green take on that. Very nice. This one isn't bold nor quiet. It is a smooth amalgamation. It takes that saltiness out of ADG's signature marine accords, and instead adds a wave of out-the-shower fresh over the burst of juicy (juicy watery, not juicy sweet) fruit when first sprayed. After the first few minutes pass, a few base notes begin to peak a head in and add some charismatic depth to an already nicely blended scent. TL/DR; smooth fresh guy cologne.
Wore it on special occasions such as weddings. The woody notes are too strong for me, and it didn't give off any fruity notes. It might be good for date nights, but I rarely wore this fragrance and ended up giving it to a friend.
AStrachn is it a new bottle? Even after a few years they still need to be sprayed a few times then given time to mature after seal is broken. I get 8 hours easily with decent projection for a few hours but like most fresh stuff they don't project massively. Hopefully you come round to it. If not just put aside for time being and check every now and then. I stand corrected as wearing to day and a skin scent after 6 hours
Perfect for late spring early summer. I really like this as get a peppery vibe from it. Miles better than all the current aqua versions which I find to be very sweet and definitely not suitable for high heat like previous edt or profondo. You could probably wear this with high heat but I don't think it works well but that's only my opinion which doesn't count for much 😆. So glad I got some of this aswell as profondo and previous edt before they got discontinued or butchered into generic sweet stuff
This fragrance has an inviting warmth coupled with boldly fresh and subtly aquatic notes that make it very versatile. The wood is not overpoweringly potent as in other wood based fragrance, and blends very well with all other notes, making it very balanced. Overall, this fragrance has given me up to 10 hours of longevity and will fill up a room if you aren't careful with the number of sprays used, complement magnet.
This was a blind buy disappointment. I recently picked up a bottle due to the many great reviews along with its discontinuation, but this just did not work for me. I'm not sure if I got a bad batch or if there's something in here that I'm a bit nose blind to, but I swear that I can barely smell this after spraying and it stays quite close to the skin with little projection. Also, in the heat I seem to get a little "eggyness" in the dry down that can happen with some sea/aquatic fragrances for me. I enjoy some of the ADG line and was intrigued by this, but it is a regret for me.
My 7year-old daughter says, I smell really good when I wear this. She loves it
have absolutely ZERO idea how people hate on this fragrance sometimes. aromatic woody smell, beautiful, perfect for summer, over 14 hours on my skin, and insane projection. it's really all you could ask for and more for a summer fragrance. could definitely manage in spring as well.
I have a sealed 125ml available if anyone interested message me. Unfortunately 🇬🇧 UK addresses only. Have proof of purchase as bought direct from armani online store and can provide further information if requested like batch code etc. Also have 125ml of old profondo
They got rid of the ONLY fragrance that smelt like pure heaven and just natural. It didn't come off as synethetic and could have easily been a niche fragrance. Such a shame.
A discontinued treasure of a fragrance. Unlike the rest of the Acqua Di Gio line, Absolu is often considered a "bubble gum aquatic". Similar to fragrances like Hawas or Invictus EDT. It's opens with an ozonic fresh citrus eventually drying down into aromatic woods. A great fragrance to use during summer. USA: Visit Vintage Decants to sample discontinued fragrances.
It’s really nice but reminds me of Invictus Aqua and there’s a ZARA scents it’s very similar to also, one of the summer ones from a few years ago (probably a clone of Invictus). Good performance. Fresh but with a syrupy sweet pear note and aquatic sea vibes. More like Invictus than it is to the OG AdG. Age 16+. Bottle colouring is way off it should be blue or green.
Very solid fruity aquatic.. this is a strong like for me but I still prefer the new ADG parfum over this one. The parfum isnt as sweet..A really nice flanker and mass appealing compliment getter.. Score 8.5/10...
I tested the new EDP Intense at Macys last week. ....And the new one sucks. It smells too close to the normal EDP after like 30 to 60 minutes once the sweetness dies down. It is also very weak. Anyway, after that test, I came home and ordered Absolu from Jomashop. Remarkable they still have it in stock. I've had it for a few days now. It is sweet but with a small amount of that ADG dna. So very unique in the line. It is a monster performer too. I sprayed one spray on my arm, took a shower two hours later, and it was still projecting hours after showering. I just ordered a second bottle a few minutes ago. That's all I need to say...
During Black Friday of 2023, Macy’s had a 75ml bottle of this fragrance on sale, and I bought it without ever smelling it before. It ended up becoming one of my favorite summer fragrances. I would wear it anywhere. The bottle is almost done, and I’m sad to see it discontinued. It’s citrusy, fresh, and sweet, and it got me a lot of compliments whenever I wore it. This fragrance projects extremely well. I remember wearing it on the NYC subway on a hot day, and the AC in the train was carrying the scent so well that a lady sitting next to me asked for the name of it. Moments like that say everything about a fragrance. I’ll definitely be wearing it more this upcoming summer, and I’m already dreading the day the bottle runs out. I rate it ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5).
This was my first purchase going into my fragrance journey and I am sad to see it discontinued making me scared to spray it too much. In my opinion this is just a better version of YSL Y EDP to me there are some similarities but ADG just does it better and they made something here thats ahead of its time. smelling the fragrance I mostly get green apple and a lot of woody notes mixed with those classic marine notes ADG likes to do. I get a solid amount of projection and longevity from this nothing crazy but great for a fresh scent like this but in my wearing I tend to gravitate to something else during those really high heat days since I think it can be a touch too sweet for my liking. Longevity- 7/10 Projection-6/10 (Projects well then becomes a skin scent at around the 6 hour mark) Scent itself IMO- 6.5/10 (Not a fan of Y EDP at all but this is for sure better)
Armani Acqua Di Gio Collection’s general issue for me is its lack of longevity, requiring frequent reapplication. This fragrance, while not projecting very strongly, is a perfect summer scent; its fresh marine note truly evokes the feeling of the sea. With its light and clean character, it’s ideal for daily wear, especially in warm weather. Its simple yet effective profile makes it a reliable choice on summer days.
I just got this it is week and I mean weak literally just water sit so close to the skin as soon as you put it on, maybe it needs to sit for a while I will give it a try again come summer.
This stuff is amazing. Masculine, mature, overall a gorgeous scent and compliment magnet. You will have haters and you will have lovers of course, but to me, I love it. If you're a fan of the original profondo dna but with just a slightly more woodier, amber scent profile, Id say definitely go for it.
Extremely overrated and literally just water with this sourness too not great by any means and not special and it sits EXTREMELY close to skin
Jomashop for the win! 🫡 glad I was able to find it.
The day they discontinued this was the day the world has gone to shit.
What a gorgeous scent! Pure class. Absolutely the best in the ADG line. Really, we will miss this gem so much.
@rainyura I think you mean intrusive. Intrusioning isn't a word.
Smell is too intrusioning. Personally for me it distracts in a bad way. Overpriced for this stereotypical mainstream masculine scent.
