Just tested, nice scent but in hour become skin scent to me. Tested from tester in fragrance shop. Maybe other flankers last and projects more..

So, I own WAAAY too many fragrances (over 200). That means that I end up trying to rotate through them as much as possible and therefore It'll be months before I circle back to a fragrance. Guerlain - L'Homme Ideal edt was my "Gateway" into the house of Guerlain and Id purchased my bottle well over a year ago. MAN! Every time I spray this scent on it truley BLOWS MY MIND at how FREAKIN' GORGEOUS it is! I mean wWOWw! Thing is that these Guerlain's absolutely benifit from Maturation in just about every way, beit performance, nuance and over-all scent profile. Im now spraying some on after maybe 5 monthds since having last used it and I swear its become much richer, potent, longer lasting and that Almond note is now almost "creamy" and smells decadent! Along with the high quality- "Fougere like", masculine/Leaning accords? Fellas! DO NOT pass this scent up! I know that Guerlain has more hyped men's offering other than L'Homme Ideal, but this is TRULEY "Niche Level", ultra refined perfumery! Also dont be negativity swayed by the reformulations and "Bad performance" reviews bc initially when you first spray your new bottle, this scent has at the very least moderate performance, but a few months in after introducing air into the bottle you'll notice how the performance greatly improves as well as the over-all improvements. Amazing for gentleman 25 yrs old and up and damn near a 10 outta 10 in my book! I highly recommend that L'Homme Ideal edt be any guy's (or gal's) introduction into this amazing, timeless brand. Plus this edt is more affordable than most of the other men's offerings and comes in usually at between $50 and $60 for a full sized 3.4 oz bottle.. You'll thank me later!! Lol

A beautiful and unique scent. Amazing Smokey almond accord which hits smooth and not in a marzipan way as I was worried about

I have this as a "like" and will soon be doing "love" for the extreme version. Opening is light and creamy. It doesn't smell expressly fresh, but there is a "sparkle" to it. The drydown has a creamy nutty scent to it. It reminds me of shea butter. EDIT: bumped up to a love. Very easy to wear as a daily driver.

The opening is a clean, shaving cream like scent with mild citrus. The almond at first is dry and hardly gourmand. As time goes on the almond gets more pronounced and more sweetness comes through. By the end of the day it is a more gourmand almond and Tonka fragrance. This is a good balance of wearability and character. For what it is, it does change on the skin quite a bit and lasts a long time. I wear it to the office, but not all the time. Something like a workout or a little too long in the sun can make the sweetness come out in a weird way. I reach for it on an office day where I know I’ll be staying late. It’s appropriate but it sticks around and is interesting enough to keep me awake. For the price you pay on a discounter it is a great value.

I've had this for a few months now. I've put quite a dent in it already. This is one of most sophisticated and classy fragrances I own. I love wearing this to work mid-week when I dress up a bit and attend my weekly work meetings. I also like wearing this as an date scent. The almond is SO good in this scent. It is powdery and boozy but those aspects are somewhat muted. I'm sure its the orange and orange blossom that helps with that. This scent is not overbearing, which some powdery and boozy fragrances tend to be (which is great for evening scents, but not so much as a work scent). With all things considered it still performs and makes a presence with its profile. There is a little spice that helps make it masculine and the leather, cedar, and vetiver in the dry down helps with that too. Overall, this is such a great value. You are not going get this level of quality and blend from a niche house for the price. I know some of the other flankers get a lot of love but this one is so versatile. You can seriously wear this year round besides in the high heat of summer. I would repurchase this fragrance so I can always have this in my collection.

Gentle orange and almond with a powdery sweetness. Unconventional and beautiful.

Opens with the strong scent of orange bitters which is not going to be for everyone… quickly dries down to the famous almond scent profile with hints of leather. Light to moderate sillage. This is fresh enough that I’d wear it during the day time, any season, but probably best for spring/fall. I don’t foresee it being cloying in heat. It’s a mature, masculine scent profile. If you like scents like BVLGARI Man Black Cologne you will enjoy this. I do love my room filling scents but they’re not for every occasion. Edit: after a few hours, the almond/tonka note has began to dominate, evolving to a more gourmand scent. Interesting evolution. I wouldn’t call this linear by any means. I now see where it may not be fit for summer heat.

Yep, it's Cella. YSL MYSLF-esque opening. On drydown the almond comes to the forefront. Very pleasant. Cella shave soap and aftershave balm have the same scent profile if you like this.

This is the kind of scent that makes people think you’ve got your life together… even if you don’t.

It is hard to wear. The better version compared to it is Mancera Oud Lemon Mint. Acceptable 6.7/10

a sweet, nutty, leathery fragrance that is surprisingly versatile. a bit of a mature scent, 25 or older. i wore this to a drag show with my gf, everytime i smell this, i think of that night. 8/10

Love the scent! Bottle design ehh not that it matters much. But the scent is incredible for day/night. In Fall or winter. I feel like in heat this might be cloying. But I haven’t tried in heat yet so not sure but overall. 7/10 for me. It just doesn’t last long at all. Gone in a hour.

Anyone describing cherry here means to say amaretto. When almonds are processed they can take on a cherry-like scent. If you've ever had Disaronno this is pretty much the exact same as that. It's also why cherry pies have almond extract in them. They are complimentary! The other notes lift the amaretto scent in a pleasant and intriguing way, but it's primarily the amaretto imo. It's gourmand but not like an apple pie gourmand. I usually hate food-scents but I like this, I think primarily because of the lightness. It smells particularly good outside with fresh air. I wouldn't wear this to a dinner I don't think. It's also not linear. I wish that it was because the opening to me is where the gold is. After the citrus dissipates you're left with the amaretto and suggestion of leather. It's definitely not bro-level masculine but secure masculine.

L’Homme Ideal is the perfect harmony of lemon and sweet almond. It’s a sweet, slightly citrusy fragrance that’s beautifully composed—those two notes couldn’t fit together any better. This scent profile is built to please everyone: men, women, kids… even the dog. Basically, it’s a sweet lemon-almond composition that, after a while, reminds me of the candy I used to eat as a child. The sweetness makes it easy to wear in any season, but it really shines in spring and summer. In autumn and winter, because of the lower temperatures, you’d probably want something stronger, since the sillage and longevity are moderate to rather weak. Even though it leans masculine, it’s easily wearable as a unisex fragrance. If you’re a man who doesn’t mind naturally sweet scents, you can safely blind-buy this one. The name “L’Homme Ideal,” in my opinion, doesn’t really match the fragrance at all—but that doesn’t affect my rating whatsoever.

Don’t let the reviews spook ya. “It’s generic” “disappointing” “not living up to guerlains standards” “the flankers are way better”. That kind of talk will mess with your head. You start sniffin it like “wait.. why do I kind of like it though? Am I basic now?”. Here’s the funny thing.. if you actually read the flanker reviews you’ll see a whole lotta folks circle right back and say this (the EDT) is their favorite. It’s got the versatility and strength (funnily it’s one of those cases where the EDT projects harder and hangs around longer while the parfum kinda tiptoes out early). I have heard the intense version is very similar to this but adds some spice. Surely it ain’t reinventing the wheel. Nor does it have any artsy, wild & unique notes. It simply just smells damn good. Smooth and well blended. I usually don’t reach for this kind of a scent but this one keeps pulling me back. Every time I catch a whiff I go “alright… yeah.. that smells good.” Sometimes that’s all there is to it.

Incredible fragrance. The almond note reminds me of the sadly discontinued Guerlain fragrance Ideal Cool, which was a smooth minty almond fragrance perfect for summer. Ideal EDC is like the ying to its yang, a perfect winter/fall fragrance with that same almondy smoothness and deeper notes that give it the vibe of an orange flavoured dark chocolate. Since I’ve sprayed the decant I cannot stop sniffing my arm. Real addicting. Highly recommend.

The notes listed here are a bit deceptive. It's actually a cherry bomb not citrus. It's medicinal cherry with a slight almond nutty vibe to it. With a hint of leather and woods at the base, and a fair amount of amber. That pretty much describes it perfectly. It is classy for sure, but this won't be everyone's cup of tea I almost love it, and I want to love it, but that cherry note comes across too medicinal, and reminds me of cherry cough syrup. I wish they dialed down the cherry and added a lot more almond I think it's full bottle worthy despite its handicap. The only other problem is it's not really versatile. Dress up mostly. Possiblly a date. But it's really just for like formal events only. I could see someone wearing this to like an awards ceremony, but like nothing else really. So it's not versatile at all imo The performance is also deceptive. Starts out beastmode, it projects well for the first two hours, and then dies down to a mild roar I'd say ages 30 and up could and should wear it. It's a bit too classy and sophisticated for the younger crowd to pull off though. Like I said strictly for formal events As to whether this fragrance is masculine or feminine...I'd say it's definitely masculine, but it's refined masculine. It's sophisticated and classy and smells a fair bit more expensive than what you pay for it. All in all it's a great deal for the price at discounters imho. But people will fall into issues finding occasions to actually wear it. It's just too classy for regular wear, and it's too formal for dates or the office. You would come across weird and out of place in any of those settings imo. Like I can't imagine anyone wearing this in anything other than a suit and tie, and really only a bowtie at that. But man would it accentuate that outfit 👌 scent-7/10 value-8/10 performance-6/10 versatility-4/10 overall-7/10

Blind bought this and realized that the DNA is really just not my cup of tea. Amazing bottle and amazing performance though. This thing projects like crazy. Definitely would go light on the sprays. With that being said, I have a 99% full bottle for sale if anyone is interested.

Very nice, creamy vanilla and almonds. Has a slightly herbal-aromatic opening, background notes of leather and blossoms. Becomes very nutty, has a vanilla and tonka core. Is a little boozy. Turns musky, still creamy, some fruity notes (possibly plum but becoming more like cherry.) Some citrus, then fizzy sherbet aromas with patchouli-Woods on skin. Performance isn't the strongest but lasts on skin for a while. More masculine, ages 20-70(ish.) Day scent suited to moderate heat, but fine all year. Modern, good quality and very pleasant. I like it.

They have changed the scent complexity and killed the performance of this in 2024 and 2025 batches. It projects less than 20 minutes and smells lighter compared to the 2023 batches. Pretty annoyed

My favorite designer fragrance line, the quality is marvelous, the scent profile is unique, and in the line between niche and designer. Actually, Guerlain can be categorized as a niche brand because it only produces cosmetics and fragrances

This is ridiculously weak and the opening is quite unpleasant. I'd like to offer an opinion on the post-drydown skin scent, but it is so weak that I just can't. I see no reason to consider wearing this in an EDT version. Maybe the parfum is better, but I'm not sure I even want to bother.

Talk about a performant fragrance. This thing lasts and has decent reach. Warm and noticeably spicy/leathery/sweet, this is for select occasions and gives a very mature prensence. Recommended.

Stunning even for an EDT , classy shit this, it’s not going to please a hairless 16 year old twat with undescended testes , but a mature male with normal testosterone levels will probably enjoy this one. A light fragrance , haven’t smelt the flankers so cannot compare . 8/10

So, about a year ago Guerlain's L'homme Ideal edt was my first purchased from the house of (Guerlain.) I only purchased it bc I'd heard that the House of Guerlain was highly regarded and this original edt version was the least expensive from the entire house of Guerlain (Aroud $50 at the time) so I figured itd be a good, low risk introduction to the house. wWOWw! Blew my mind how exquisite this blend was! At the time I'd collected nearly 100 bottle of different fragrances and at that time NOTHING I owned smelled as refined and elegant as tbis fragrance was. This edt version is so incredibly well balanced and such a pleasure to experience! Starts of with refined, smooth citrus, slightly powdered Almond and smei sweet Tonka Bean (BEAUTIFUL!) I was instantly hooked on the house of Guerlain and just had to try their other offerings. (After fully maturating) the performance is above average for an edt and has moderate sillage. A 9 outta 10 scent and absolutely Stunningly beautiful, unisex leaning masculine scent which Id consider Unisex- Leaning masculine scent

It's doing much better now in the cold and with a nice prime. Beautiful bitter orange and tonka bean dominant scent. It a classic Guerlain combo. Similar to say a negorni maybe. It's wonderful at different levels It's boozy, fruity, and nutty. It's done with the fine touch of Guerlain with actual tonka bean and not just coumarin. This a top notch edt concentration that keeps getting better as it matures.
