Interesting to see the the reviews for this and the level of love. Purchased in winter and wore a couple of times. But haven’t felt particularly tempted to go back and try. Maybe when autumn/ winter is approaching. This is def a blind buy I wouldn’t have purchased if I had sampled in a store. Yup it’s powerful, but it feels remarkably lacking in complexity or nuance. Let’s see whether 9 months in a box take down the level of sweetness any. I’m sure it’s a masterpiece for many. Just isn’t mine
This one surprised me in a very specific way. The drydown has this sweet, almost ashy quality that immediately reminded me of sweet cigarette ashes. It’s not dirty or unpleasant if that kind of note appeals to you—it’s just… distinctive. If you’re into that slightly smoky-sweet vibe, you’ll probably love it. Personally, I wouldn’t make it my everyday signature. It’s a bit too linear and intense for me to reach for all the time. But as an occasional change of pace? Yeah, I can enjoy it. Performance is no joke. This stuff is a powerhouse. Easily 10+ hours on skin, and I still had it projecting at arm’s length from a test strip 24 hours later. If long-lasting is high on your priority list, you’re in for a treat. One bit of advice though: don’t blind buy it the way I did. Grab a decant or try it in store first. There’s a reason it gets so many glowing reviews—the strong, straightforward scent and ridiculous longevity for the price make it very appealing to a lot of people. Just make sure that sweet-ashy drydown is something you actually want to live with.
I started loving and enjoying it, then it became just liking and then I almost stop using it. I am wearing it less and less now. It is not bad, but there are aspects of the scene that feels too much after a couple of hours of wearing.
aw fuck yeah this is some sexy juice. I want Ross Carlos (TLTG) to wear this when he fucks my wife while I'm tied up to the cuck chair This is a must have in a complimentmaxxers fragrance collection
Masculinity done right. Aventus was the modern masculine scent until its dupes made it synonymous with overly loud and equally drunk men wearing black t-shirts and backward caps in clubs and sports bars. This brings me back to better times. It’s a bit leathery, a bit woody, and a bit spicy. The amber, patchouli, and something sweet that I can’t ascertain save it from going too far in the “watch your drink” direction. Not for everyone, you need a bit of motion to properly rock this. For certain my favorite from boss and a designer masterpiece. Subjective Score: 9.4/10
overglazed, but this stuff is still incredibly alluring and keeps me coming back for more. Worlds better than elixir - while elixir is a bit more fresh spicy, my reaction to elixir was “oh, that’s…nice.” Bottled Abolsu had me going “this smells AMAZING wow let me sniff that again.” It’s a very well blended smoky, spicy, incensy leather with just a light, light touch of sweetness. Definitely worth it if you can find it for around $90 or less, instead of retail. This would be a great entry into darker, more night-time niche smells if you have not had any experience with those types of scents yet. You might first be repulsed, but spray it on your hand at night and give it some whiffs every now and then. Try and indentify all the notes. You’ll grow to really love this. Is it groundbreaking? no, but it doesn’t need to be. If you want something in this realm that blows your mind, go try Rayhaan Terra or get a decant of Amouage Outlands, or even PDM Carlisle. Bottled Absolu is a very linear scent progression, but it stays in the “sweet spot” that just works.
I sprayed it 16 hours ago. I slept, woke up, and it was still there! I did two sprays on my arm and it was there. I smelled it in the air. Incredible!
Bought it recently. First spray and I was very surprised how good it actually smells. Mature, deep, rich and sweetly enough. Can't say it lasts like a monster. 9-10 hours maximum, which is enough for me. This juice is fire in my opinion. One of the best designer frags I've smelled
I have a very old batch of this one that matured well. The scent has really grown on me. The opening and the first 15 minutes aren't great, but it turns into a beautiful scent after that. Incredible quality and performance. Carlisle is way more fruity than this.
Holy shi this is garbage. Not blind buy safe, it’s so sour
For me, this is a tobacco dirty leathery burnt brown sugar / molasses type of scent. There are elements to this which reminds me of Rayhaan Terra / Amouage Outlands but they don't smell like eachother at all, there's just somewhat of a similar vibe. Definitely not for everyone and not blind but safe. This will go nuclear if you over spray and will stick to skin for 12+ hours and clothes 24+ hours.
Nose Note #1123 I bought a sample of Asad Elixir and then read some comparisons saying Bottled Absolu is just much better. Man, this is indeed so much better. First, Asad Elixir is not a very faithful clone, but the similarity is crystal clear. Just like people say Asad Elixir has something from Sauvage Elixir, so does this - big time. Like Sauvage Elixir mixed with something inbetween Layton Exclusif and Carlisle. So it has some traits of the aforementioned perfumes, but overall it's a standalone. Just a wonderful rich, sweet, slightly myrrh-like scent. Wonderful. Very satisfying performance. Price is a bit steep for Boss. Hard to compare it to Asad Elixir because its performance is so dog shit... It's like a weaker version of this + not so exciting. This is a wonderful example of a designer fragrance. Doesn't try to be something exceedingly complex, niche, whatever. Just a nice warm scent, almost a dumb reach kind of one. At least for my taste. I feel like I could wear this anywhere anytime. 8.2/10
I had this gifted to me by my Aunt, just phenomenal stuff. Bottle design, juice quality. This is entering niche territory with a budget friendly designer price tag. Boss is always under the radar but they have masterpieces left and right. The starting days, it smelt like a chocolate leather that was exposed to smoky incense and left to dry on wood. Now, after a but of maturing. The juice is become even more pungent. You get that Myrrh, Patchouli and Davana prominently, used to get noseblind to this but afterwards you get used to it. Performance is excellent. I have dry skin yet it still manages to last 8-10 hours (sometimes even more). Its a unique scent, I love wearing it. Truly an elevated scent of the already masculine DNA from Hugo Boss Bottled. Check this out if you love dark and warm fragrances, it is spectacular, dare I say the Magnum Opus of Boss.
Elixir is a pretty basic, dry-incense sort of smell. Not bad but not that interesting either. Absolu, on the other hand, is rich, dense and interesting, with a small touch of balsamic sweetness from the myrrh that lifts the beautiful chocolatey patchouli and smoky incense notes, into something truly niche smelling. And the davana! Davana isn't talked much about, as I'm guessing it isn't a note most people are familiar with, but that layer of boozy-fruitness is the chef's kiss. Performance is excellent. Smells insanely masculine without going over the top. 9/10 Caveat. If you're only used to designer scents, BBA probably isn't going to be for you...not yet at least. Start dipping your toe into the niche world, train your nose to repel the mundane, and you'll eventually appreciate this scent for the masterpiece it truly is. P.S. Asad elixir is NOTHING like this. Forget what the shills tell you. AE is a confused chaotic mess, with not even the slightest hint of quality about its ingredients. Absolu is blending genius.
Luckily I didn’t blind buy it, I went to a boss store and tried this on skin and also tried the elixir too which I enjoyed a bit more, honestly Asad Elixir smells better than both of these, maybe because it’s a bit more mass appealing but I don’t understand the hype around the Absolu, I was actually disappointed when I smelled it, was expecting something niche quality when smelling it like everyone says. Also someone here in the comments said that it smells like barbecue sauce and I can’t get that out of my head haha
Dark winter cold fragrance. I like it! Male 100%. However, leather and wood are not existing. I would advise leather or wood lovers to stay away from this fragrance.
Not much to say other than, this is an absolute gentlemen’s masterpiece of a fragrance, very diverse. On a warm day spray 2-3 times and it won’t be cloying, on a colder day / night time spray 5 sprays and the performance and sillage is just insane, 10/10 for me 🤌🏻
BBA to me is like a modern, rounded, and less boozy version of Bentley for Men Intense. Excellent room-filling projection, so go easy on sprays. Cannot comment on longevity yet, but I can't imagine it being less than 10+ hours. Modern classic.
Tried this with expectations it was going to be overrated I thought no chance was it worth the hype , I was beyond blown away it smells beyond incredible it is one of the few fragrances that take me somewhere in this case it was this woody vanilla heaven. Overall I would not recommend purely for the fact of wanting all the stock to myself one of my favourite if not my favourite fragrance.
The dry down of Boss Bottled Absolu managed to get it's hooks in me in a way few fragrances have. However, this is NOT going to be popular with everyone, as it's certainly an acquired taste. The Scent: Unlike almost anything I've ever put my nose to so far. It sits in a a similar category as Ombre Leather in my brain, maybe because they both have leather accords, but are very different. Absolu is much sweeter, more green, and chocolaty than Ombre Leather, quite a bit closer to Replica - By The Fireplace. The Cedar is also quite prominent in this, as is the incense. The Vibe: A cool weather walk in the woods wearing a cozy cable knit sweater paired with your favourite leather jacket. Sipping on a hot chocolate as you take in the moment. This is the type of scent you could pull off at a family Christmas party, whereas I can't say the same of Ombre Leather. Performance: I mean, just look at the accords, this puppy will sit with you for a while, especially on clothes. Final Thoughts: Smelling this in the midst of July makes me look forward to colder days when I can wear this more often. But beware! When I first got this bottle, the opening was kind of alarming. It needed to have some oxygen introduced to the bottle before it's warm chocolatey/patchouli qualities woke up.
1. First of all this is not for everybody 2. Its a fu***ng masterpiece 3. This fragrance goes beyond of what you smell when you first spray this, its multy dimensional, constantly changing until it reaches a point that it cant go better than that Its like you mix Dior Sauvage Elixir with D&G the one edp in the best posible way and than you have this fragrance .
Loud masculine fragrance smells a little bit like a woody cheap cola however it gives occasional hints of poo , not sure why it's hyped
A really warm, dark-smoky and spicy-sweet masculine scent. Easily the top 3 in the bottled line, if not the best. This scent is original, noticable and a compliment getter. Definitely a winter/fall/night type of fragrance but I love it so much that I wear it in summer too. I once had a stranger behind me saying "Good perfume" and stopping me to ask what I was wearing. Longevity is quite good, it lasts 10+ on my skin, more on clothes. Easily a 10 out of 10!
Wow this is a very interesting scent. Definetly the most interesting fragrance i own. It is a rich and refined fragrance, slightly leathery and potent incense note. However i do not think this is very mass apealing, i like it a lot but try it before you buy a full bottle.
This isn't my review, but after smelling this on paper for the second time, it really reminds me of Boucheron Jaipur EDT and EDP. None of the lavender of the former and less complex, rich and spiced and much less floral than the latter but has the same dad as both. I'll likely revisit another time.
It smells like bubblegum and men's shower gel initially. It reminds me of Amouage Outlands without the spices. The dry down is similar to Layton. I don't get the comparison to Carlisle or Red Tobacco at all. It's currently selling for $100 AUD, and the price is unbeatable for this scent profile. The scent itself isn't incredibly versatile, leaning more as a date night or cold weather perfume. This is redundant for me as I already own similar scent profiles, otherwise I would definitely get it.
Smells like spicy lubaan, kinda oudy and resinous and slightly leathery. Maybe because I'm used to middle eastern fragrancery thats why I'm kinda disappointed by the hype. I was hoping for something more unique. I like it. Smells nicely on my skin, but nothing mind-blowing. Performance is about 4 hrs before becoming a skin scent. Imo, if you want something more robust and unique with more character then go for Issey Miyake Polaris. 7.5/10
This is an incredible masculine scent. I sprayed some from a tester bottle onto the back of my hand while at the airport. Didn’t like it at first. Was a little too Smokey for my liking. After about 20 minutes to a half hour it slowly started to dry down into a beautifully sweet and spicy incense forward scent. Sprayed it onto my hand about an hour before my flight and then my flight lasted about six hours. The scent remained strong for that entire time and I found myself constantly smelling the back of my hand throughout the flight. The Smokey and spicy sweetness is very addictive and I couldn’t get enough of it. It’s a bit pricey but I immediately bought a bottle after landing at my destination.
I would just be restating some of what is said here. It's in my top five of frags. If I could have only one, as of now this would probably be it. I just hope to God they don't reformulate it.
Very luxury desinger perfume , very balsamic masculine it’s just literally enjoyable scent, in my opinion if you can’t buy (Amouge Outlands) which is so expensive go with boss bottled absolute it just give you same vibes , honestly it’s awesome
