Fox in the Flowerbed

Flower bomb dialed up, on my skin it wears far too synthetic for me to like it. Overall, the florals themselves I enjoy, but it feels plastic on me, like I am a Barbie mint in a package waiting to be removed to go to a garden party. I tend to wear indolic notes well, so I didn't get the heady urine smell. I wanted to love it, I am a sucker for hand illustrations and love that bottle. I want to dilute the fragrance and see how it wears, give it a second chance. As of now, it's a pass. All of Imaginary Authors scents read slightly synthetic for me, some I am ok with but this one is just too far. If I was recommending it to a friend, I'd suggest a sample. The indole can lean towards urine on some, the synthetic may be overpowering. Occassion: Spring and Summer, Day, Dates and Casual Events.

Fresh, airy floral. Like standing in a mountain flower meadow on a warm sunny day in spring with the floral scents being turned up to the max. And then, in the background, you get a hint of pee and something animalic, reminding you that there are wild animals roaming around. Unfortunately, I don't find this fragrance very interesting and I don't think it delivers on the concept they were going for. I wish they either left the animalic notes out completely and commited to the mountain flower meadow concept (more green, ozonic, maybe mineral or earthy) or gone all the way to represent the fox with more than just a hint of animal and urine (with musks, fur, stronger animalic accords). The florals are nice, but they feel juvenile and like a basic grandma-frag at the same time. Reminds me of floral soap in a bathroom. Without the animalic notes, it would be great as a room freshener. I think I have a "spring flowers" scented floor cleaner that smells similar to this.

I tried this on a test strip only so far. Not sure if I will brave testing this on skin... It's extremely floral. And I do kind of see what other reviewers are talking about when comparing it to a cat pee and/or laundry detergent smell... It gives me decorative soap vibes. The kind that sits in a bowl in the bathroom but isn't really meant to be used. It's... fine, if erring on the offensive side to me. I think I prefer softer florals.

Pretty and bright, with a slightly indolic jasmine giving it animalic depth in an otherwise very floral and sweet fragrance.

I love this fragrance! It is super-floral--white floral (Jasmine)--but is nonetheless very wearable for a man. It has this vibrant animalic note that renders the fragrance a very floral scent for men.

It does smell fresh, immediate smell gave powdery but that dismissed once I smelled again. Can see how people are saying laundry detergent with the typical "mountain mist" or whatever scent detergents aim for

I'm so sorry but I'm getting pee. It's like if someone wet the bed in a very clean and airy smelling bed. I can't. I'm hoping that will fade as I've only just sprayed it. 3/10

The opening sparkles and tickles the back of your throat. The body wants to cough, but doesn't. Fizzy air is the element that separates FITFB from other florals.

Smells like a flower bed without the earth, as of you got a whiff of only the flowers. Nicely made and high quality. Lovely definitely feminine leaning.

really weird how there isnt one male vote. this is definitely unisex. good performance, to be honest great perfromance for what this scnet is. such a beautiful floral. alot of scents like this are dominant, bad performance, or could lead cloying or sickly especially with the honey note. not this. this is defintiwly one of the best florals i have smelled, and its because of the alpine air note. the air note literally airs this out so well man. the floral the honey the air, all beautiful notes, and beautifully blended. id be surprised if u didnt like this. and again u would expect this to be generic and linear, it really fucking isnt. absolute stand out, amazing perfume man. this is for me in the house, kind of what u want ur life to be.

Random but if anyone happens to be in love with the Jean Paul Pride Edition 2022 for men, this Fox in the Flowerbed is INCREDIBLY reminiscent. This is a profile I absolutely love and the JP is getting harder to find being a limited edition release. Playful, floral, airy, with a candied sweetness to my nose. The JP is a little more pixy stick sweet-like but the resemblance is undeniable with FITFB more airy.

I'm reviewing this in order to help people understand something: your sense of smell is genetic and you perceive things differently from others. The same way some people taste cilantro as soapy and others taste it as fresh and bright. Certain white florals smell fresh and sweet to some people while the same formula will smell like cat pee to others. It's just your genes. No one is crazy. It's a thing that occurs-the same way some people can't smell certain notes that others love. Reading the reviews for this fragrance and seeing people not understand that concept was driving me crazy so I had to explain it. I hope I've helped at least one person by writing this. With that out of the way. I like this just fine. To me it's a fresh floral with some sweet and airy notes. Not groundbreaking but not bad. It's obviously not a safe blind buy since there's no way to know if you'll get the pee note until you try it.

I'm almost convinced the positive reviews are coming from people who received free samples from the brand. I, however, purchased a sample with my own money, so I'm going to be as honest as I desire. Disclaimer: I'm no expert in perfumery. Maybe this is just a note I don't understand. But this smells like literal urine. It actually leaked in my package so as soon as I opened it, all I smelled was pee. As I unwrapped the vials, the spell of pee got stronger and stronger. The other vials were covered in the pee perfume (peefume?) as well. I gave it a spritz anyway to see if the dry-down would be any different, but nope. Pee. It's a shame, because I can faintly smell the other notes, and they're nice. But they're overpowered by pee. Of course, of the samples I ordered, this one had the most longevity and projection. Fox in the Flowerbed reminds me of a cat lady's home, where the entire thing smells like pee. She tries to mask it with Febreeze, so much Febreeze, but her efforts are futile. Instead she creates a sickening mix of floral air spray and cat piss.

Lovely, heavy floral with a very strong honey note. I also purchased this with my own money ^ and I really enjoy it. My brother is a fan too, but my sister gets that "pee smell" a lot of other people are mentioning, although at first she described it as an animal scent. I don't really understand what could be making it smell like pee to so many people ?

This scent is white flowers subjected to technical processing: dense, glossy, and strangely rubbery. It smells like opening a pack of luxury, ivory-colored latex gloves that someone previously sprayed with an ultra-strong surface polisher. There is something fascinatingly artificial here. The flowers do not wither, they have no pollen or earthy roots; they are cut from an elastic material that hits the nose with sterile purity. The honey is not golden and sticky, but rather resembles a chemical essence added to industrial detergents. It is the scent of a white, futuristic space where everything is disinfected, polished to a shine, and completely stripped of any traces of "nature." This is absolute purity: aggressive and plastic. To me this is an indolic floral bomb. I like indolic/animalistic scent profiles, but this is the feminine version of what I like. Its a little too strong for me on the opening but the dry down is quite pleasant. It also loses the indolic nature and gets more soapy. I caught myself sniffing it a few times over. This is one of the few I think would be great on a woman or the right man, but most guys will think this would go on a woman 6/10

Initially a strong puff of sweet floral. Settles into a powdery clean scent like baby powder with a floral halo. Eventually i just smell baby powder, in a somewhat sophisticated way, that reminds me of old lady fragrance. Not something I'd wear.

This smells so pretty on my skin! It's very floral, powdery, and slightly soapy which sounds like it shouldn't work, but it's blended so well that it does. It's light, fresh and airy without feeling generic. It honestly feels like being transported into some kind of lush, fragrant, soapy flower dimension. There's something almost otherworldly about it.

All around unpleasant. This started hissy on me and finished pissy. Truly smells like a Febreezed puppy pad.

Jasmine, jasmine and then some more jasmine. And maybe a dash of clean soap. This is nothing groundbreaking, and as other have said it could remind you of ‘Lust’ from LUSH. In the drydown it gets way sweeter but it is still slightly boring, but more like a sweet floral, slightly dated jasmine, or maybe like those fragrance sticks, or expired moisturizer that have been sitting on the bathroom shelf for ten years. In some ways it does feel girly and sweet but it gets a bit too cloying to be a spring scent, but too light and floral to be anything but a spring scent. I can understand the ‘Fox in the Flowerbed’ in the spring, but I would never get to that without the picture on the bottle. But the bottle looks really nice, I’ll give them that! And the sillage and longevity are both great, even though it is a fragrance that evolves pretty heavily during the wear. I don’t really care for the opening even though the drydown is better. I’ll save my sample in case I want a heady jasmine, but it nothing I will considering buying.

Got this for free alongside another sample from this house. An immediate barrage of photorealistic flowers, which reminded me of nosediving into the Trader Joe's flower section. I only really wear florals in conjunction with fruits and/or gourmands, but something about this made me nostalgic. It's very beautiful, like a mature and well put together woman, who keeps to herself nowadays but has many stories to tell about her past. There is a sweet presence from the honey but it retains its green and ozonic qualities. Definitely worth looking into if you're a diehard floral lover. As for my purposes, a great room scent.

Fox in the Flowerbed genuinely surprised me. I’m not usually a big fan of heavier floral fragrances, but this one quickly became one of my favorites from Imaginary Authors. It’s vivid, peaceful, and perfectly captures the feeling of a calm, relaxed spring morning/afternoon. My main issue with white florals is that they can often become too powdery and heavy, especially with honeyed nuances, instead of leaning green and smooth. Thankfully, that problem is almost nonexistent here. The fragrance feels light, airy, and beautifully balanced. In fact, the composition is so well done that I almost forgot about the price, which is… well, pretty damn salty at €114 for 50ml. Still, Fox in the Flowerbed has a very “spiritual” kind of vibe. Even though there are other fragrances in a similar style, this one carries a unique feeling that’s hard to find at the same level. It’s one of those cases where I genuinely don’t understand the relatively low ratings it gets here on fragrantica, even considering its few "downsides" ( if you can even find more than the price itself).

Extremely floral, far too floral for me. A flat, pollen-like jasmine I think that honestly smells like fancy laundry detergent. It gave me jasmine laundry detergent the whole way.

Mainly jasmine with a powdery vibe, the dry down I can smell the honey more. Not offensive but not giving real flowers.

Extremely medicinal or chemical harsh opening. But the middle notes and dry down are really pleasant. delicate white florals and crisp air accords at the base. If the opening were better Id rank this higher. Leans very feminine but I dont care as much about gender, however since some do it must be said.
