if brut by faberge was made in the 80s, the opening is shapr, strong cassia fusing with the rindy, zesty citrus makes it a little mettalic. but let it dry down and the "brut" i was mentioning comes out, with earthy tobacco (not the smoky kind) with soapy gardenia and sandalwood. lovers of halston z14, brut by faberge and paco rabanne pour homme should blind buy this

Decent smell, but dated. Not something I would wear. Smells like old money, recommended age 45+ Strong and longlasting imo

Is it good? No Blindbuy? Yes ( If you like cheap smelling fragrances) Longevity? Suprisingly good for such a cheap fragrance Collection Worthy? No This is awful, incredibly dated soapy green perfume with no sweetness. Which sounds good but its not. Its so offputting. It smeels ilke cheap perfume some one bought to coverup their BO. Its so clean that its off putting. I like classic scents but this is maybe just a little too dated. If you do love the "Classic" mens scent profile, you might enjoy this. its just to dry and bitter for me and this is coming from someone who dislikes sweet mens perfumes. In conclusion pretty awful in my opinion, really good longevitiy!

I remember 10 years ago i used to like this fragrance alot. Today i bought a bottle but i didn’t like it at all… it is either the bottle has changer or my taste.

I will check back in when I have a full review, but just wanted to speak to the new formulation vs. vintage aspect. I really like the new formulation, which has elements of classic Polo, Quorum and PRPH. So I got a 30ml for $30 on Ebay and ... the new stuff is better, and veeeerrrrrry different. The vintage has a vegetal/funky aspect along with an indolic vinyl accord. It is more interesting but prelimiarily less enjoyable, closer to something like a Paula's Ibiza or PCKO Cabana, with sort of an ivy aspect. The vintage is not at all barbershop, and barely a fougere. The vintage might grow on me, but if you are looking for a classic fougere, the new formulation is a bargain.

This is an interesting one I think the best way to describe its scent is to say that it smells like a car's interior, which, I guess is apt, considering this cologne's branding So, if you like the smell of car interiors, or "that new car smell", then you'll probably like this one, but if not, then just give this one a pass

Fresh green classic. A bit dated perhaps but a nice clean green scent. Cheap and strong too. I found it best around wintertime. Bit much in high heat but less sprays works. Citrusy herbal piney magic. Older crowd type stuff but still a great green classic. 7/10

Must I remind you that you are getting a powerhouse EDT with a citrus herbal opening that dries down to oakmoss fern ... all for the price of 17 us dollars?

I dont like it at all, with all honesty, it smells like mall’s washrooms air freshener. Very strong citrus lemony smell. I think it would smell ok as a cleaner or air freshener, but in my opinion its an awful smell for a man to wear. After minutes of spraying it; the wooden and lavender notes starts to be more noticeable but its still a strong lemon/orange scent.

Whoa! Jaguar Pour Homme is AMAZING! Man, Ive been using the "Current formulations" of Polo Green, Paco Rabanne Pour Homme etc.., but Jaguar Pour Homme BLOWS THEM BOTH OUT THE WATER! as far as performance and the actual scent goes. The current Polo green currently has this off-putting "Leather Note" that reminds me of "Wet dirty Cardboard" and just does NOT last more than 5 hours on skin and not much longer on clothes. Paco Rabanne smells nice but doesn't last either. Jaguar smells fantastic especially once its maturated for a month or so becoming even stronger projecting and lasting a good 8 to 9 hours on skin and has a nice transition from bright, tart Citruses to a more Leathery, smokey dry-down. It also has tons of depth and "Oomph" which Polo nor Rabanne's current formulations have.

Blind bought this based on the reviews and instantly regretted it. To my nose, it smells intensely animalic like damp leather, wet fur and an old stable all rolled into one. I kept waiting for it to become fresh and masculine, but it just smelled like fragrance hell. Not for me.

A drugstore cheapie barbershop classic 80's green scent, released in 1988 or so. Nothing innovative, nothing new, and no drama......... just fresh green and zesty herbal barbershop.....it reminds me of an eighties Ford Capri air freshener, probably suits well with Frankie Goes to Hollwood on the in-car cassette player. Its REALLY lost someplace in the eighties. I actually love scents like this, i was a kid in the eighties and all the guys i emulated wore stuff like this. Its simple, clean, masculine and very retro. A standard issue 80s fougere. Jaguar green is a worn out old tired cliche, definitely.... but its still somehow retaining enough appeal to be a bright, pleasant, functional, locker room everyday wear that isn't going to upset anyone and its still loveable even though its decades out of fashion....... Lasts about an hour on me, so i use it as a now and again quick splasher after a shower when i don't actually want to wear a fragrance today. Perfect for that. Probably good for work too, its LONG gone by lunchtime. I can't bitch for the price.....its never going to be in the Hall of Fame but its a cheap classic of its genre and era. Its versatile, a daily grab that costs very little. Or a good car air freshener, its just a happy fresh forest floral musk. 7/10 for me

Syntethic green, masculine goodness. Not much to say about it really, but for its price you need to get it if youre in to oldschool beauties. Also only last like 2 hours, so essentialy, you could go through a bottle in 2 weeks really.

Smells FANTASTIC and Im honestly surprised at how well made Jaguar is and although I paid the INSANELY AFFORDABLE price of around $16 at Ross for my bottle, this GORGEOUS, classic dna is worth around 3 to 4 times what I paid for it, not to mention it having quite solid all around performance! As for the comparisons to Polo? Well, Its green, slightly astringent and woody with a woodsey/Leathery base although the Leather never really becomes a major player, so it doesn't really smell a whole lot like Polo bc Jaguar leans much more into the fresh, slightly more astringent Citruses and then tramsitions into the heavier, darker yet more subdued leather/woody base. Also, as we all know Jaguar for men simply cannot compare to the Masterpiece that Polo (Once Was), although I actually enjoy Jaguar MORE than the current formulation of Polo bc the "Leather Note" Polo is currently using reminds me of "Wet Cardboard" and its just NOT pleasant to my nose nowadays. Also Jaguar last EVEN LONGER than Polo's current formulation does for sure which is a travesty! Im getting between 7 to 8 hours of moderate to intimate projection towards the end and a couple days on clothes whereas the current Polo formulation lasts mmmaybe 5 to 6 hours tops on skin becoming quite faint by hour 4. I would also like to address some of the hate Ive read more than a couple folks here on Fragrantica give to Jaguar stating that is smells "Like Garbage" or that it smells "Like a Cheap Mess" and while I admit those comments kept me from pulling the trigger on ordering Jaguar for men in the past, I am SO GLAD that I finally grabbed a bottle and find those super bad reviews completely unwarranted bc Jaguar really does smells pretty darned awesome in my book! An 8 outta 10 amazing "Classic Green".. Bravo Jaguar, BRAVO!

If you like things like Polo you will like this. It gets a bit ragged towards the end, and it is highly advisable that you avoid contact with the public for the first 10 minutes or so, but it's a mostly gentle green giant for the majority of its life, and should satisfy most enjoyers of it's ilk.

My friend gave me a bottle of Jaguar last November. He didn't like it because it was too strong for him. And yes, it's pretty strong. So what I'm doing is to limit the number of sprays to 3. 1 on each shoulder and 1 on stomach area. The sillage is moderate but I voted strong because it leaves a good scent trail that everyone in the room can smell. My students always give their compliments everytime I use it. It also lasts for almost 6 hours. The bottle still contains about 15 sprays and I'm planning to purchase another bottle from a reputable perfume discounter. The only problem that I had with it is the cap. It is made of a low-quality, brittle plastic.

Strong manly, barber shop fragrance. It is long lasting for summer days. Opening is extremely harsh for 15 minutes. Do not spray close to face or neck..

First: don't even look at the notes because there are really maybe five notes and the cedar is bug spray cedar. There is also an unmentioned potting soil note which is actually one of the least offensive things in it. I LOVE EVERYTHING INCLUDING THE KITCHEN SINK FRAGRANCES BUT THIS IS NOT ONE AND THE NOTE LIST IS A CHEAP ATTEMPT TO AROUSE MASSIVELY UNDESERVED CURIOUSITY. Responding to Chevalier34: I probably got mine around 2022-ish but it could have been as early as 2021. I checked in on it every so often and then threw it away after six months. I do remember a bit of orange cream which was nice but it was not nearly enough to save this insecticide/cow manure toxic atrocity. I've heard and read some rave reviews but also some bad ones I think even as far back as 2021 and earlier. If they don't put some soap back into it and lose the dung beetle bait poison cedar they should just stop making it. With sites like these that keep old positive reviews it just wasted people's time and energy. It's cheap but that doesn't excuse the nuisance. I was thinking about trying One Man Show Emerald Edition which sounds decent but now I won't because a reviewer mentioned similarities to Jaguar. Who the hell really thinks this garbage smells like Polo or Tsar? Get real. But if anyone here also hates this and has any other green frag recommendations which are not fruit heavy I would love to hear about them. For my part I will say that Fragrance World Green Sapphire is phenomenal. Not as cheap as Jaguar or One Man Show but less even than Paco Rabanne PH on most sites. Aspen though weak also smells at least 5x better than this. People: why do you all keep making excuses and recommending this vile bile? I love a good cheapie but WTF!? At least update the reviews after you come to your senses. I too have tried to convince myself to like crap that in the end is just crap. Jacomo De Jacomo comes to mind (glad it's discontinued-I even like the smell of clove cigarettes but...JDJ is just nasty). Happy hunting.

This is one of my all time favorites. Finished my 2021 dated bottle and opened a 2024 dated. Immediately it smelled off The bright, almost sweet orange and citrus was all but gone; the green herbals in the mid were overpowered by a funky, animalic note, and the spicy/elegant soap at the bottom was absent, instead there was a sickly sweetness like a roach motel. Also a note that I've come to associate with cheap perfume's sandalwood note. Any chance they've reformulated or swapped some of the aromachems?

Combining this with YSL Body Kouros results in a beautiful fizzy fragrance

Mid-Late 1990s vintage review: This Pardis/Sodimar version has the "wood" cap but it's actually faux burl wood grain plastic. Made in France. Which means nothing, because my brand-new silver-capped bottle is also made in France. The new formula smells like a fruitier and brighter version of Krizia Uomo to my nose, although it also compares somewhat to Paco Rabanne XS pour Homme. Crisp orange citrus on top that lasts a surprisingly long time, followed by a cedar-woody fougère heart on a soapy-green (not exactly mossy) base. The vintage version, although not exactly 1st issue vintage, is still old enough to clearly contain real oakmoss and probably some treemoss. The biggest difference between old and new is the older formula smells more like a lighter version of Gucci Nobile. It's greener, brighter, a little more resinous, and mossier, hence, powderier. It's definitely softer, more diffusive, rounder, but after thirty minutes it's essentially identical to the new stuff, but weirdly smells airier, still a touch greener. Not as soapy. More textural. Still veers into Krizia Uomo territory, but that Gucci Nobile comparison comes to mind more here. For those not familiar with Nobile, it was a very resinous bright green "Nu-gère" of the 1980s, with a ton of piney and grassy accents that created this big-hair, big-aura, Spectorian Wall of Scent around its wearer. To date, it's another one of the classics that was discontinued and I can see zero believable reasons why. It was gorgeous. Yes, it was loud, and sure, it was in a style that the 1990s killed dead. But Nobile was solid, sparkling green, a jade sculpture of rippling muscles and lifelike grimaces in olfactory form. Anything that can touch on it is both rare and desirable. Vintage Jaguar touches on it. Thus, it is rare and desirable. If you can find it for a good price, buy it. If you can't, the current formula is also quite good. Wouldn't lose sleep over only having the new stuff. It's like 97% identical to the older version. But for some, that 3% will make a big difference.

Had mine since i was a kid wore rarely but holy shit past couple weeks I've been wearing it everytime i finish showering, i mix it with like dehn oud in my hair and spray this perfume all over my body, and holy shit this perfume is so fucking beautiful. This perfume put me on like the barbershop type perfume i guess is what you call it, but for me i call it jungle perfumes, cause they smell tarazan or like the jungles.

A fine masculine heavy green scent. Not as strong as Polo from way back, not as rich either. Brighter.

I've got a bit of frustration and anger at the world and want something powerful, like a Jaguar. Old school barbershop? Let's do it. The first notes I pick up on are basil and thyme…easily, followed by the blend of sweeter and green notes (sweeter being the cassia and anise but they weren't distinct). Adding another spray I get the citrusy blast of bergamot and orange, though lavender only comes through if I spray and immediately go nose to skin. The heart notes are pretty solid: evergreen (fir) and carnation for sure, pie spices, sage, and a blend of florals. If the world is my punching bag, this base is my coach telling me to keep hitting and fight through the pain. Moss and patchouli are my main pickups, followed by musky fern and woodier notes as the dry down continues, with tobacco detectable nose to skin after about 10min. It has been mentioned that Jaguar for Men is Polo's cousin; I think they're definitely related, but I'm going to put more distance between the king and this fine fragrance. It's good, I like it, I'll wear again periodically, but the crown is safe.

Fresh and green, does a job but doesn't last long. For the price point, it's okay. 5/10

The hatred probably comes from guys under 31 years of age. 80's chic, bottled. A herbal, crisp gem that's crazy good value for money. One of my favourite members, RobbieX, said it's in his top perfumes ever.

Dated old school fragrance Tamed to be wearable today but Try layering it with Hawas Kobra...It will take it to another Dimension 👍🏻

I wore this to clubs during my first years at university, so it reminds me of a bad era in my life—when I was broke and chasing women. I didn't get a single compliment, either. Smells like an old man.
