Great longevity, impressive projection, beautiful composition and showcase of notes. The rhubard is so unique and the tonka bean creates a not unpleasant, slight, coconut-y (?) scent. Drydown is woody, with some residual rhubarb & tonka sweetness. Edit: as mentioned below, it really is pleasing throughout your entire day's wear. More lovely with each passing hour. I could easily wear summer/fall/winter but probably best suited for cold weather. Both office and home wearability, however I would enjoy more personally at home. Very soothing to me. Got a couple of compliments too :) Thinking seriously about full bottle.
I could bath in it
Just received this fragrance. Not sure why it has a low rating here on Fragrantica. I understand that this is much different from the mainstream fragrances, but this is quite similar to Vetiver Tonka, which, if I'm not mistaken, has a much higher score. It also somewhat winks at Bal d'Afrique, which also has a higher score. I'm confused...
Encelade wasn't love at first smell. It slowly won me over. The first thing that struck me was how much it kept changing. Every time I came back to it, I noticed something different. At one point I realized it reminded me of a greener version of Terroni.. not because they smell the same, but because they share that earthy, textured feeling. Encelade just feels cooler, greener, and lighter on its feet. I also get a smoky quality, but it's never the main event. It's woven into everything else instead of sitting on top. Nothing feels loud or harsh. It just becomes more interesting as the hours pass. Some fragrances make their biggest impression in the first five minutes. Encelade did the opposite. By the end of the day I was reaching for my wrist more than when I first sprayed it. That's usually a good sign.
this is such a unique and polarizing fragrance, very industrial. The Rhubarb is almost lost to me because all of the notes seem to be competing for attention. It's more confusing than complex. I've left it alone for about a year and come back to it now, and I like it a bit more. Anecdotally, every time I've worn this, I've overheard people asking each other "what is that chemical smell?" I've put it on in the morning and filled a hockey locker room at 8pm.
The rhubarb is delicious and quite apparent in the opening. A very sexy and different take on leather. Seven hours later it has dried down to a really nice and bracingly dry wood; it reminds me of Thomas de Monaco Fuego Futuro.
Encelade takes you to luxurious cabin in deep forest. It's green, earthy, leathery almost smoky. Strong, dark, aromatic. Masterpiece, very unique.
For me, Encelade has become something far more personal than just a fragrance. It's one of those rare scents that feels almost too intimate to share with the world, too captivating to be worn casually in crowded rooms or formal settings. I don't reach for it before a social event or a busy day. Instead, I save it for moments when I can truly surrender to it. I can imagine wearing it on a quiet evening walk, during a solitary drive with no destination in mind, while trekking through the woods or during a peaceful weekend away from the noise and obligations of everyday life. But if I'm being honest, my favorite way to experience Encelade is at home, completely on my own. Perhaps while watching a football match with a cup of coffee in hand or a few hours before sleep when the world has finally gone silent. Those are the moments when I let it unfold on my skin and simply follow where it leads me. There is something utterly mesmerizing about its green, mineral and earthy character. The opening feels like crushing fresh leaves between your fingers in a remote forest after rainfall, while beneath it lies an almost cosmic aura, as if the scent has been borrowed from another world altogether. It is wild yet elegant, mysterious yet comforting and every time I wear it, I discover a new nuance that I hadn't noticed before. Wearing Encelade doesn't feel like applying perfume. It feels like stepping into a different state of mind, a small personal ceremony, a fragrant escape that slows time and sharpens the senses. This is not an everyday fragrance for me. It is an occasion in itself. A rare indulgence, a moment of reflection and a luxurious retreat reserved for the times when I want to disconnect from the world and reconnect with myself. Overall a 10/10 Masterpiece !
You find herbal tea in a rotten wood box at the back of a cabin in the forest
If I had to put a name to this scent, then it would be the one that creeps in through the back door of your chest when you least expect it. You know the story. There is a new boy in your class. You hate him the second his shoe touches the floorboard. You do not know why. It is simply there, this hate, like a splinter under the nail. Everything about him scrapes against you. His voice is too loud. His laugh is a challenge. He is arrogant, cocky, that kind of rebel who wears his leather jacket like armour. The girls swarm around him like moths around a filthy flame, and the other boys suck in their cheeks to be like him. You cannot understand it. You want to look away but you cannot. Then—without a knock, without a warning—something shifts. One morning you see him and your stomach turns upside down. Not in disgust. In butterflies. Your knees go soft, like old rope. The boy who made your blood boil now makes it burn differently. You think of him when you should be learning Latin. You hate yourself for it, but there it is. The old story. From hate to love. As old as the trenches. And this fragrance is exactly that. It does not let you stay neutral. It forces you to take a side. Art should bruise you a little, shouldn't it? This one does. In my discovery set it was the one I dreaded. The one I did not even want on my skin. I let it sit in its little vial like a prisoner. Weeks later—why, I cannot say—I took the risk. Half a spray on the forearm. Just half. And now I am thinking of a full bottle. Oh, this Bisch magic. It got me. Just like that boy. A side note: someone wrote that the scent is like licking a battery and I couldn't agree more!
I received a sample of this when I purchased Tilia. I sprayed it and thought “Hmmm, this is like Diptyque’s 34 Blvd St. Germain!”. Then I put it away and didn’t think about it until now, 3 months later. I AM IN LOVE. It’s a blast of rhubarb then settles into a bright cedar finish. It reminds me of another QB masterpiece Cedrus Intense from Chloe. Anyhoo, I decided to go deep into the green forest today and I layered Encelade with 34 Blvd St Germain, Bois Imperial and Diptyque Tempo. Oh my stars…my scent bubble was insane. I could not get enough of myself.
Very good frag, original and strong dark but also fresh cause of rhubarb, great for evenings
main accord is animalic ...fragrantica what are you even doing?
Smells like a rich gay guy, really nice tho and long lasting asf
Vetiver is definitely part of this perfume but also tonka bean. It has leathery facets and honestly I don’t get much rhubarb tang except maybe for a second. It has some metallic aspects to it so it has a sharpness. I was surprised about the sweetness especially in the dry down. It’s kind of sexy on a man actually. It is nice that this has such impressive longevity. If you spray more than 2 (3 pushing it), it will overwhelm you and you won’t appreciate it as much… tbh I have been getting frustrated with the lack of projection and staying power of other perfumes so this feels like you are getting your money’s worth. I know this could be a wild take but the dry down is a strong tonka bean and reminds me of Guerlain Tonka Extrait.
Encelade will not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's a masterpiece nonetheless. Quite paradoxically - due to how powerful it is - I suppose it's something Jean Claude-Ellena would appreciate, as it is painted with bravery, deep understanding of the ingredients and a steady hand, with just a few, necessary strokes. In Encelade, all the ingredients are loud, proud and sing in unison a tune that is remarkably different. Rhubarb, isobutylquinoline (the leather component), tonka and VETIVER, which for once works hand in hand with other ingredients, are all here and seem to really enjoy each other's company. Brilliant, unique perfume that morphs familiar and somewhat oldschool notes, like the said vetiver and IBQ, into something fun and innovative. Bravo!
Rhubarb. STRONG, pronounced rhubarb. Some woody base notes there too but mostly RHUBARB. An acquired taste for sure. Sample this first.
When I first smelled this I hated it. Now revisiting I love it. Ah the world of fragrance collecting🤣 Reminds me of mix between a garage showroom and the workshop. Like Ganymede it’s got a weirdness about it that appeals. Having spent a long time wearing Ganymede I think has opened me up to this one. Not as nuclear but still strong and makes its presence known. Try it before buying because it’s definitely not for everyone.
This is the most accurate interpretation of South American pure cocaine. Addictive, weird, strong but not as strong as people claim here. Smells like vegetation and rooty Vetiver with a light sweetness over some sandalwood in terms of fragrance notes. Now, the whole composition smells like pure cocaine, this is the most accurate interpretation of this drug, not with gasoline or powdery nuances but vegetable, anesthetic, lightly astringent and even lightly sweet cocaine. I got a bottle for shits and giggles with my friends but it also smells damn good, it’s quite versatile if you can hold the sprays, even for daytime and people ask what I’m wearing all the time. I do think that the appeal of Quentin Bisch fragrances are the novelty of the notes that don’t smell like anything people have tried before, their performance and ultimately they smell good vs something extremely likeable and mass appealing like LV fragrances for example. 10/10
I am not the target audience for this, what with my basic bitch vanilla tastes and suchlike. However, this is unique. Metallic, herbal, green, shiny, futuristic, aromatic. It’s a beast. I can imagine it would be a signature scent for the right person (although it chooses you, you don’t choose it). It lasts a long time and I’ve sprayed it twice on my hand, God help me. No really…send help (and a scrubbing utensil).
It's giving me headache Idk if it's the metallic or the earth note it's so sharp Never buy it again
Metallic smells ain't it.
Nauseating. Which is a pity cos one can tell it’s not bad, but no thank you.
I got tons of Niche beast mode fragrances but this one can choke people in a circumference of three meters ,so unique but hard to wear at any occasions even if u spray 1or2 spray on your clothes you will choke first yourself then others so not safe for blind buy but worth having in collection ❗️m
Okey Its like magic Every one want to know your perfume name , actually i didn't tell them hhhh Its abeast mode nothing like this perfum ,except one perfume ill not mention it now. In winter this perfume gives you warm. Its beautiful for outside using Don't spray it if you work in room , it needs opens aerea , dont forget like my comment bro.
This is a unisex perfume for sure it doesnt seem to lean masculine as the charts suggest Some people described it as a woody green scent, so i thought it will have green elements like from GIT or Tea or something and some woody elements - cedar and vetiver with some creaminess from the sandalwood but its not the case. This perfume has a coconuty sweet scent, but not exactly coconut like in paradise garden, maybe marzipan ? I dont feel strong woodiness dry woodiness like I would expect from the highly voted vetiver and the cedarwood notes, I feel the sandalwood though. Its interesting but nothing that feels unique or wowing like ganymede for instance. Recommend to sample first, it's way different than I expected. Regarding performance, well It's strong has very good projection and longevity is very long, really great performance, if this scent profile is your cup of tea then you are in luck
This is definitely not a fragrance to blind buy. When I walked into my favorite perfume shop, Osme, I fully expected to spray Encelade by Marc-Antoine Barrois and immediately want a bottle. That didn’t happen. The opening struck me as very smoky and sharp, almost aggressive. I kept waiting for it to soften into something more pleasant, but the transition never really clicked for me. Interestingly, some people describe this fragrance as sweet, likely because of the tonka bean note, but on my skin I didn’t experience much sweetness at all. Instead, the drydown took on a somewhat soapy character, and not the nice floral soap type either. To me it smelled more like the basic round soaps you find in a Holiday Inn or other budget hotel, the ones wrapped in clear plastic. It’s also quite powerful. I can easily see this becoming headache-inducing if you spray too much. This feels like a two-sprays-maximum kind of fragrance. I’ve owned Ganymede by Marc-Antoine Barrois before and thought it was decent, though even that one requires a light hand. Encelade, however, didn’t work for me at all. Definitely sample this before spending your hard-earned money. Scent: 5/10 | Longevity: 8.5/10 | Projection: 8/10 | Overall: 5/10

Honestly, Encelade is one of the most unique things I’ve ever smelled. You can tell immediately that this isn’t just any perfume.it smells so expensive, powerful, and luxurious. It has this incredible green freshness that’s somehow dark and deep at the same time, and you can literally smell the quality of the ingredients in the air. What shocked me most is the longevity. I can smell it on myself all day long, and it stays on my clothes for days. But the best part is the reactions. Literally, not a day goes by without someone stopping me to ask what I’m wearing. People are fascinated by the trail I leave—it smells like pure prestige and elegance. When I put it on, I feel like I own any room I walk into. If you’re looking for a scent that will set you apart and bring in a ton of compliments, Encelade is it.😎🫡😇
Nuclear but I don’t like the scent too much
